Exploring the Countryside: There are local swimming lakes at Meuzac, St Germain les Belles and St. Yrieix la Perche with beaches and small restaurants/snack bars. Short walks can be taken within the bounds of the property and there are plenty of longer signposted walks or cycle rides around the locality. The Vezere, Lot and Dordogne valleys are all within easy travelling distance with their stunning views and pretty villages including Rocamadour, Collonge La Rouge, Cirq Lapopie and many others

Culture / Places of Interest : Chabrenas is close to the cultural areas of Limoges (30 km) and Brive (50 km) both of which have cathedrals, many shops, museums, theatres and plenty of local history. Many summer festivals, classical concerts are held in local towns in July and August. Horse racing is held every Wednesday and some weekends during July/August/September in Arnac Pompadour. There are many chateaux to visit including our local Coussac Bonneval (8 km) also La Grenerie, Hautefort, Arnac Pompadour, Jummillac le Grand and a bit futher afield Turenne, Castlenau & Montal. Lubersac, Arnac Pompadour and St Yrieix are market towns on the route of “Richard the Lionheart”, all within 10/15 minutes drive and all have shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Oradour sur Glane is also just northwest of Limoges and this village was the scene of a 2nd World War massacre by the Nazis. Spectacular caves can be seen at Grotte de Roc, Goffre de Padirac and the cave paintings of Grotte de Lascaux.

This 2 bedroom, recently- refurbished, gite sleeps 5.
There is a spacious and well-equipped kitchen/ dining room, including a cooker, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, coffee- maker and high chair. A washing-machine, ironing board and iron are available on request. The comfortable sitting room has a stunning view through triple patio doors. There is English and French TV, DVD player, CD player, Wifi, and a selection of DVDs and games. The shower room/WC has a walk-in shower, illuminated sink unit, and heated towel rail. There are 2 upstairs bedrooms, the first has a double bed and cot. It leads on to a balcony, with seating for 2 people, overlooking the pool, and the views are amazing. There swimming pool is 8x4 metres, with a constant depth of 1.32 metres (no deep-end)The pool is fitted with a safety alarm and is surrounded by a large deck area, which offers 5 sun loungers, a table with 6 chairs, a parasol, and BBQ. There is an adult double swing in the shade of the trees, a children's swing and boule and badminton can be played on the lawn. There is off-road parking for 2 cars, and garage parking for 2 motorbikes.

The delightful electrically heated cottage has exposed beams throughout. The Lounge area centres around a large oak beamed fireplace with a wood-burning stove having three seater settee and another chair. There is a television, DVD player and provision for English and French television.

Kitchen/ Dining Area has a large table with four chairs and kitchen has been equipped to a high standard with full size dishwasher, fridge freezer, cooker and microwave.

Leading off this open plan living area is the main bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet.

The stairs lead to the landing area. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with two single beds. either of these bedrooms could also accommodate a cot / travel cot if required.

There is also a separate toilet / wash basin room upstairs. Washing Machine is situated in nearby Bread Oven building and tumble dryer available by arrangement.

- "Really nice" - "We loved our stay at Andy and Trina’s gite. The cottage is well equipped and in a lovely private orchard. The house is bijou but we felt it was bigger than we had expected from the photos so actually we found we had plenty of space. The space is carefully planned and adequately equipped for our stay with everything we needed. Andy and Trina are kind and helpful people and they well deserve their Premier Host status. They brought us up to date tourist information and lent us a map to get to a place our maps didn’t quite cover. They graciously put up with our car alarm randomly going off, which as it turned out, was caused by insects flying in and setting it off after dark. Other guests may want to deactivate their acoustic alarm as we eventually did! It is a very peaceful and restful area and the roads were relatively quiet and empty so getting about was a joy. There are three good swimming lakes (with sandy beaches and lifeguards) within 20 mins or so and several chateaux, pretty villages and towns to explore. It may have been the time of year but every few days there seemed to be some sort of event taking place in the various nearby villages and towns. We have very fond memories of our stay."

This little love nest in a green setting with beautiful views of the Creuse valleys and the fishing pond is a haven of peace. 10 minutes from the cottage you will practice climbing on the wall of a viaduct.
At 20 minutes there is the golf 18 holes Jonchère.
The Wolves Park Chabrières, the giant Labyrhinte, or the hook-branch will entertain young and old.
For those who like Nordic dogs and the ballad, Julien will make you discover the cani'rando, cani'trottinette or cani'kart. The kids love it!

More cultural side Creuse is full of treasures.
Do not miss the 12th century Château de Boussac in which the famous tapestries of the Lady with the Unicorn were discovered. Clad with the granite walls of the Petite Creuse gorges, the castle offers an impressive spectacle.
In the same area you will not miss the perched village of Toulx Ste Croix whose tower dominates six departments. The magnificent and magnificent view makes you see the Puy de Dôme and the Puy de Sancy. The small Romanesque church of Toulx, separated in two by the road, is a curiosity. Not far from this village the remarkable site of Pierres Jaumâtres inspired Georges Sand for his novel "Jeanne". It is a mass of huge rocks millennia that contributes to the legends and the mystery of the place.
The castle of Villemonteix 14th century fully furnished is also worth visiting. Its architecture is typical of the castles of the Creuse.
The valley of the painters of Creuse was the cradle of the Crozant school where the Impressionists such as Claude Monet worked and left many works representing the landscapes of the Creuse. You will discover painting galleries and museums. The ruins of the old fortress of Crozant from the Xth-XIIth century perched on its rock coiled at the confluence of the Creuse and Sedelle forming a romantic and enchanting landscape. You will end with a relaxing boat trip that will take you to the dam Eguzon sailing through the meanders of the Creuse.
Several remarkable gardens are to visit. My preferences go to the Garden of Sédelle and that of Val Maubrune.
You will not leave the Creuse Without having visited the new international museum of Aubusson tapestry. The Aubusson Tapestry is inscribed in the "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by Unesco. You will find various tapestry exhibitions in several churches and castles of the department.
In Creuse almost all the churches being classified are in perfect condition. They date back to the 12th century. The Sainte Valérie Abbey in Chambon sur Voueize (3rd favorite village of the French in 2016) and the Benevento Abbey, located on the road to Compostela, are pure jewels of 12th century architecture. As for the church of Moutier d'Ahun, it has stalls carved in the 17th century S which are of exceptional beauty.
You will leave without having seen everything obviously, because this is only a sample of what you can discover. Between the monuments, the theme parks, the natural sites, the gardens, the fishing or the sports each one will find activities which will suit him. You will leave Creuse with lots of unforgettable memories. For those who just want to rest, the Creuse is the perfect place to relax.

- "Perfect bliss"

Located in a quiet hamlet in the heart of the Limousin is this detached two-bedroom stone gite with private heated swimming pool.

On the ground floor is a large open plan lounge/dining room with beamed ceilings and tiled floors which always stay cool in the heat of the summer, a wood burning stove (for those cooler evenings), a spacious fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen and a shower room/wc. There is also access out to the rear sitting/dining area and garden.

Upstairs is a double bedroom with king size bed and a juliette balcony. The room overlooks the pool and has views across the fields towards Lussac-les-Eglises. There is also a triple bedded room plus a bathroom with bath and shower attachment. The house has free wi-fi, UK satellite TV and a DVD player.

Outside, is the 10x5 in-ground swimming pool with pool alarm (the pool is exclusively for the use of gite guests), a terrace with table and chairs for six, a barbecue and a large, private lawned area ideal for al fresco meals, games or sunbathing. There are loungers plus a selection of pool toys and outdoor games, including a table tennis table. The pool is heated from the end May to the end of September.

The gite is surrounded by beautiful countryside and there are plenty of places to walk or cycle and enjoy the peace and quiet. You will also find opportunities for fishing, golf and water sports nearby plus some charming old villages and interesting markets to visit.

The area around the gite is alive with birds. Apart from the native species we have many summer visitors including hoopoes, golden orieles, nightingales and shrikes. In the spring and autumn we are treated to the magnificent sight and sound of thousands of migrating grey cranes. During the summer months the garden and surrounding area are also filled with butterflies. Apart from the birds and butterflies, we regularly see deer and red squirrels in the garden and we also have a healthy population of hedgehogs. If you are lucky you might just see a pine marten too.

If you enjoy star gazing, the night skies above the gite are beautiful with the Milky Way often clearly visible.

Our local village, Lussac-les-Eglises, is approx 1 km away and has a boulangerie, small Spar shop, pharmacy and tabac. The nearest supermarket (Intermarche) is in Magnac Laval, which is a 15 minute drive away.

We live on site in the barn adjacent to (but separate from) the gite. Please be reassured that we will respect your privacy at all times. However, we will always be available to help with any problems and to answer any questions you may have.

Please note: the gite is located in a very quiet rural area - it is definitely not a metropolis! Our nearest small towns with supermarkets and restaurants are Magnac Laval and Le Dorat, which are both 15 minutes drive away. Bellac, La Souterraine and Montmorillon are all within 30 minutes drive and have a wider selection of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and other amenities.

I would like to thank both Mario and Ilse for being wonderful hosts, we received such a warm welcome and were afforded absolute privacy throughout our stay even though they were always on hand if anything was needed.The cottage is beautiful and so well equipped its a real home from home, with a full size larder fridge and an under the counter freezer there is plenty of room for you to stock up on groceries and forget that the world outside exists.The kitchen is incredibly well equipped, you seriously want for nothing, there is even a bacon slicer!Beds are very clean and comfortable, the bathrooms are very stylish with plenty of hot water and a fantastic shower.The garden is amazing, and in complete peace and quiet all you can hear are the sounds of nature and the views are spectacular. The pool is a real treat, just the right size and warm.There are some really pretty walks in the area and it is only minutes away from the national park. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet, hiking, cycling or relaxing. There are also really good dark skies at night perfect for star gazing there is no light pollution.Although it feels that you are in the middle of nowhere nothing is too far away, it is only 45 minutes of easy driving from Limoges Airport. We offer 3 cottages (1x1 bed, and 2x2 bed ) which have been lovingly restored , with original features kept wherever possible and beautifully furnished to a high standard.
This listing is for Cottage 2, a 2 bedroomed cottage renovated with a New England theme. It has a good sized well equipped kitchen, with a large lounge / diner, and a fabulous cream enamel wood burner. it offers a cosy, friendly feel with oodles of character.
The cottages are set in approximately 1 and half acres of their own grounds, with the front gardens landscaped and a lazy meandering path leading to the road, which is a stones throw from Lake Mondon (see below for amenities)
Our back garden has been transformed by a 10m x 5m in ground swimming pool (4ft deep) and sunbathing terrace, there are shingled outside areas for each cottage where hours can be spent relaxing and rejuvenating or reading a book, with a glass of wine under the shade of huge parasols.
For the slightly more adventurous, just a 2 minute walk away, opposite the lake is a communal swimming pool with waterslides. On the lake there are pedaloes for hire and in the peak season there are often donut boat rides. This site also offers tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts and boules. (all these amenities for a nominal fee)
There are also many stunning wooded walks along the banks of the river La Benaize, with waterfalls and prehistoric rocks (dolman), where you will find an abundance of wildlife.
For the fishing enthusiast a `carte de peche` can be purchased for a half / full day or weekly ticket.
There are two restaurants / bars overlooking Lake Mondon, both within a few minutes walk of our cottages.
There are local shops and supermarkets with a 5 miles radius, or for the larger supermarket there is La Souterraine or St Benoit.

My partner Terry and I first came to Le Dorat in the early part of 2017 after traveling throughout Europe in our motorhome.
Not expecting to be putting down roots in France until we came across this wonderful property, offering land, views, projects, the feeling of being in the countryside.
Both of us felt we had found a piece of paradise!
Set in 1 Hectare (2.5 acres) of land, sitting possibly at the highest point. less than a 5 minute walk away from the nearest supermarket and 10 minutes from the centre where you can find restaurants, bars, bank, pharmacies and other shops, plus the Collegiale, which is I believe 11/12th century.
The gite has its own private outside space but you can also enjoy the rest of the land which the neighbour's refer to as a small park.

We offer 3 cottages (1x1 bed, and 2x2 bed ) which have been lovingly restored , with original features kept wherever possible and beautifully furnished to a high standard.
This listing is for Cottage 1. Our largest 2 bedroomed cottages, it has a large kitchen, with lovely farmhouse table and a range style cooker. It has a wonderful double sided wood burner (into the kitchen and the lounge) and has a truly cosy and characterful feel, yet still offering you the space you need.
The cottages are set in approximately 1 and half acres of their own grounds, with the front gardens landscaped and a lazy meandering path leading to the road, which is a stones throw from Lake Mondon (see below for amenities)
Our back garden has been transformed by a 10m x 5m in ground swimming pool (4ft deep) and sunbathing terrace, there are shingled outside areas for each cottage where hours can be spent relaxing and rejuvenating or reading a book, with a glass of wine under the shade of huge parasols.
For the slightly more adventurous, just a 2 minute walk away, opposite the lake is a communal swimming pool with waterslides. On the lake there are pedaloes for hire and in the peak season there are often donut boat rides. This site also offers tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts and boules. (all these amenities for a nominal fee)
There are also many stunning wooded walks along the banks of the river La Benaize, with waterfalls and prehistoric rocks (dolman), where you will find an abundance of wildlife.
For the fishing enthusiast a `carte de peche` can be purchased for a half / full day or weekly ticket.
There are two restaurants / bars overlooking Lake Mondon, both within a few minutes walk of our cottages.
There are local shops and supermarkets with a 5 miles radius, or for the larger supermarket there is La Souterraine or St Benoit.
Our cottages are approximately a 10 minute drive from Junction 22 of the A20.

La Varache offers two self-catering holiday homes (gites). They have both been tastefully converted from a 15th century house incorporating many modern facilities along side original old world beams and log fireplaces.

Cottage (Gite) Two accommodates up to 6 people. There is a Bar-B-Q /stone terrace area for those who want to cook out at the same time enjoying a glass or two of wine while watching the sun go down.
Gite Two has a pleasantly decorated and comfortable lounge with a wood burning stove, dining table and a large bathroom under the mezzanine. The living room has a mezzanine bedroom with a double bed.

There is a large kitchen which is also fully equipped with all your requirements for self catering and cooking for all. (Diswasher, Washing Machine, Microwave, etc)
The upstairs has an ensuite bathroom and a large bedroom with a double bed plus there is a double futon bed. This room also benefits from a French window that looks over the valley with beautiful views.

Outside, this gite has its own deck outside the kitchen with picnic table, chairs and coffee table plus BBQ.

There are two gites at La Varache which can be rented together to make one large gite or rented separately for smaller groups. Both gites have full central heating for all year round letting. There is French television in lounge and Wi-Fi internet access.
Both decks face west and are a delightful for evening soirees.

The cottage is on two levels. On the ground floor, you will find the entrance, kitchen, living-dining room and a toilet. Upstairs, 3 bedrooms, a separate toilet and shower room.

Baby equipment is available free of charge upon request. They are not permanently in the cottage so as not to clutter it. You will find details of the amenities available on the list in the photo.

Linens are not provided. However, it is available on request at a rate of 20 euros for the entire stay and travelers. This option includes: bed linen (fitted sheets, duvet cover, pillowcase), beds made on arrival, and bath linen (two shower towels and a washcloth).

Our house is, according to our friends and hosts, who stay here, an exceptional place.
It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in a very peaceful little hamlet, with magnificent views of wooded hills and ubiquitous nature.
It is an old stone barn renovated by an architect, whose large bay windows open onto a large covered terrace (serving in the time of a tobacco dryer) and of course on the magnificent view. A few steps away, another wooden terrace, offers incredible views of nature.
Inside, the house is furnished with simple and warm materials: wood floor, and polished concrete, exposed framework, light walls.

Like us, lounge in the hammock under the large lime tree enjoying the exceptional view. Take a ride through the vegetable garden to pick a few tomatoes for lunch. In the evening enjoy the wooden terrace at sunset, then turn on the lights to enjoy the long summer nights. You will feel in a lodge at the end of the world.

We are 100% food of renewable energy. We do a compost, we grow our vegetable garden in permaculture...

It is an country house and sometimes, as everywhere in the countryside, that harmless little animals are invited under the terrace or into the house. That's completely normal. We're kind of their place.

During your stay, our adorable cat "Chanou" will keep the house. He is extremely affectionate. we love him as a family member. He doesn't fear children, quite the opposite. We'll give it to you. And against a few croquettes, it will give you huge hugs! Nevertheless, if you are allergic to cats, it may create some inconveniences for you.

We have combined 2 houses - Farm House and The Old Stables - to enable you to use all of the facilities as one group. Both houses are fully equipped as per separate listings.
There is a stunning pool with a large luxurious spa.
All of the rooms are spacious and well equipped and could also accommodate extra children/infants.
Pizza evenings with our own new bread oven and create your own pizza, by arrangement after booking.

We are located in the stunning Perigord Vert, 40 minutes from Limoges Airport, which is very peaceful but you can also get to local amenities easily. You will need your own transport ( which you can hire at the airport )and there are some lovely restaurants and sight seeing options available. Piegut Pluviers is a short drive away and they host a large outdoor market every Wednesday. It is one of the largest markets in the Perigord area . Also we have the St Estephe Lac within a fifteen minute drive ,with it’s man made beach, cafeteria and life guards during the summer time, where you can enjoy the facilities or take a home made picnic. Set in a beautiful location lakeside there is also the Moulin Restaurant which has local produce markets and live music during the summer months.
Brantome is a beautiful medieval town with a monastery overlooking the river, which we recommend for a day out.
For the more energetic you can also enjoy a kayak excursion which are great fun.
Plenty for you to do but you can also enjoy our facilities and laze by the pool for the day, enjoying a hot spa under the stars in the evening.

We have lovely comfortable beds with superior bed linen.We provide everything you need for a lovely holiday. Just bring yourselves and whatever you need for a self catering holiday.
We provide quick drying bath sheets and outside towels to use for the pool and hot tub. There is also a washing machine inside The Old Stables.
We gift you some wine, biscuits, tea and coffee to get your holiday off to a perfect start.
We have an ice machine on site for you to help yourselves. Plus we have a games box where you can help yourselves to pool play items, boules, badminton etc.

We have a badminton pitch near to The Old Stables.
We have built a large bread oven outside of Farmhouse so we can now offer you lovely fresh pizzas on site with your own choice of toppings. Enjoy a lovely evening in so no one has to drive.

Beautiful country house on hiking trails, overlooking the hills of Corrèze.
You will find peace, nature and relaxation as well as quick access to many tourist sites.
3 minutes from the highway (A20 and A89), Périgord, Quercy and Dordogne are within reach.
Brive-la-Gaillarde (15 min), Gorges de la Vézère (20 min), Gouffre de la Fage (20 min),
and the most beautiful villages in France: Aubazine and Turenne (25 min), St Robert and Collonges la Rouge (35 min).

The space
In our house, you can enjoy a large living space including living room, dining room and equipped kitchen. On the same level, you will find 2 bedrooms (160 x 200 cm beds with memory foam or adjustable mattresses in 2 beds of 80 x 200), toilet, bathroom (shower and bathtub) and laundry room (washing machine, dryer). Upstairs, 2 bedrooms (180 x 200 cm beds with memory foam mattress topper, each convertible into 2 90 x 200 cm beds), toilet, bathroom (shower). 2 baby cribs are also available as well as 2 high chairs and 1 changing table.

Private access to an outbuilding where you will find at your disposal a relaxation area including a sauna (4 people), a Jacuzzi (Hotspring Sovereign 6 people) and a heated pool (8*4). A toilet and 2 shower rooms complete this place.

Other things to note
Coffee maker uses Dolce Gusto pods. A second filter coffee maker is also available (coffee and filters provided).

The electricity consumed will be charged separately. A statement will be made upon check-in and checkout. This is done in order to encourage proper use of the relaxation area (swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna) to which you will have private and free access.
