Hidden treasure is an island style beach cottage situated amongst beautiful old oak trees. The house is located on a quite lane about a block long that has the ocean at one end and the sound at the other. Though we are on an interior lot, it is just steps (approximately 80 yards) to either the private beach access or to the small ramp that you have access to the sound from. The cottage itself was fully renovated in 2008-- the interior was gutted and the entire space was redone. It has an open floor plan for the living and kitchen area and all areas look out to the trees. A screened porch and a rear deck can both be accessed from the main living area. A deck lines one side of the house that leads from the screened porch to the covered front porch. Sitting on the screened porch is like being in a tree house-- branches arch gracefully all around you providing a pathway for squirrels and birds to bound from one to another. You can hear the ocean most days from this spot-- it is relaxation at its best. The cottage is about 900 square feet but feels larger because of the open floor plan and raised ceiling height in the living room. The floors are tile through out-- which is easy to clean. The two bedrooms provide sleeping for four-- one has a queen bed the other has a full size. Again it is hard to describe how wonderful it feels waking up to the sound of birds and the ocean and seeing the tree branches surrounding you. Totally relaxing!! Hidden Treasure is perfect for a family getaway, a couples retreat, or girls week away.

- "This cozy cottage was the perfect place to come home to every night. Queen size bed was comfy for husband and I. Full size bed with bathroom was perfect for my two sons (10&12). The outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing off after spending time in the sun & sand and not tracking sand upstairs. Kitchen was well stocked and I could easily cook in dinners if we didn’t want to go back out. We were sure to bring some essentials so we didn’t need to buy them once there: laundry soap, dishwasher tabs, paper towels, a few rolls of TP- it was the perfect amount. The outdoor/screened in porch was so relaxing for coffee in the morning and a great mid-day nap…. Always a choir of cicadas to sing you to sleep! All in all- great, cozy, very clean, lovely. We would go back! We originally planned to bring our lab pup (1yr)but did not end up bringing her. Julie has a lot of pretty decor around that she prob would have knocked over with her wagging tail 😂 perfect for mature dogs!"

Not a big deal, though. -The host was extremely responsive and offered to make suggestions for restaurants, etc., but was not intrusive at all. -Having a deck that was partly covered and partly open was really nice—and the porch swing was AMAZING!!! -Everything in the house worked as it should. (We did not use the upstairs, so I can’t speak for that part of the house). -The outdoor shower is wonderful. I actually only used the inside one once after is realized how nice the outside one is! -My only suggestion would be replacing some pillows and mattress pads, some of which are stained and look dirty. Overall, the house has everything you need. The host is exceptionally responsive and receptive and will work with you on any questions you have. But the location absolutely can’t be beat. You’re literally ON the beach—the water can come up under the deck during high tide. The beach itself is clean and there is plenty of room to stretch out. We enjoyed our 2 weeks here and the only complaint is that it ended too soon!!"

Each bedroom has its own Smart TV plus a large TV with DVD in the living room. Our free wireless internet lets you “surf” while you surf and a laser printer is also available for your use. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, coffeemaker, and a blender for those 5:00 Margaritas! If the weather turns bad (Gosh, we hope not!) there's some board games and a cache of Disney movies to keep the kids occupied. Down below you’ll find covered parking for 2 cars with a conveniently located 110V outlet for EV charging (Bring your own cable.), a full size washer and dryer, a park-style grill for cooking those burgers and 'dogs, and a hot & cold shower for rinsing the sand off after a lazy day on the beach.

Topsail Island is one of the few remaining places on the east coast where you can still take your dog on the beach (with a leash, of course.). We allow guests to bring up to a maximum of 2 small, well behaved dogs (no cats please) under 25 lbs. with a modest pet charge. Contact us for total pricing.

We restock our beach items at the beginning of each season however our inventory of chairs, floats, and sand toys varies throughout the summer depending on what guests take, break, or leave behind. Please note that while we provide pillows and blankets you will need to bring your own sheets, pillowcases, and towels or rent them from one of the vendors on the island. We'll be happy to connect you up. Bicycles, kayaks, surfboards, fishing equipment, beach umbrellas and other paraphernalia are also available for rent close by.

Too much sun? Don't fret! The island's Sea Turtle Hospital is internationally known for their work and is well worth a tour. They operate entirely from donations so your admission really does support a great cause. Be sure to go online and check their tour hours before you run down there. They are located on the mainland just over the swing bridge and down the road from the miniature golf course. Details are available on the web. If you are into history there’s the Missiles and More Museum down island in Topsail Beach. The Poplar Grove Farmer’s Market is open from 8 AM to 1 PM Wednesdays only. You'll find lots of fresh produce, baked goods, organic products, and crafts. Also, Bannerman Vineyard and Winery is just a 30-minute drive away in Burgaw.

Still restless? Head for the Riverwalk in Wilmington about a 45 minute drive away. There you will find a plethora of restaurants and shops as well as the battleship USS North Carolina which you can tour. Cross the causeway and head south to historic Ft. Fisher where the largest land-sea battle of the Civil War was fought. It's also the site of North Carolina's award-winning aquarium. On your way back, check out Carolina Beach's seaside boardwalk complete with summer amusement rides.

There is plenty of parking and an outdoor shower so that you can rinse off coming from the beach.

The deck is a great place to watch the dolphins frolic in the morning or to sip a glass of wine and watch the waves roll in.

Guests have full access to the whole house. All living areas, bedrooms, carport on ground floor, and deck with an unmatched ocean view off of the main living area!

Enjoy your relaxing stay in this beautiful 4 bed 3 bath cottage with over 2000 square feet of living area. The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and the master bath has a garden tub and a walk in shower which is located upstairs along with a spacious kitchen and dining area. The kitchen and decks work well. Plenty of TVs and streaming devices and good Wi-Fi. The house only has three bedrooms and is light on beds. We knew this and brought camping mats for the kids. The fold out couches are the traditional ones with a thin mattress and a metal bar in the middle of your back. That being said we easily fit 13 using the downstairs living room and we all had a great time."

This North Topsail Beach cottage boasts 3 inviting bedrooms - 2 king beds and 1 bunk room, 1 master bath with separate vanity in master bedroom, shared full bathroom by other king bedroom and bunk room, and one half bath off of the den and kitchen. There is a fully equipped kitchen with brand new appliances, new 65 inch smart tv in den, smart tvs in each King bedroom, WIFI, All linens included as well as shampoo and soap. We also provide plenty of beach chairs, beach toys, boogie boards, bikes, kayaks, paddleboard, and canoe which you can launch right off of your private dock. If you own your own boat you may also dock it during your stay. You may also use all neighborhood amenities which include a tennis court, and an oceanfront clubhouse/beach access with pool, bathrooms and showers. Off of the back decks you can enjoy incredible sunsets and view tons of wildlife.

As you walk into this completely remodeled 1950's cottage, you will be welcomed by original hardwood floors, vaulted beam ceilings and sun light filled rooms. The large open living room has plenty of comfortable seating and a 42" tv for watching your favorite sports, movies or streaming channels. Free high speed internet is available for working, school or catching up on social media. A small book library provides great beach reads or a rainy day activity. There are two bedrooms, both with queen sized beds and brand new covered mattresses and pillows. Spacious closets with luggage racks will hold your clothing and items from home. The kitchen has open shelving above, all new appliances, a coffee and tea station and a beautiful corner banquette seating area for meals. A dishwasher, garbage disposal and full size refrigerator make cooking and cleaning up a breeze. There is a coffee bean grinder, french press and regular coffee maker, along with a tea kettle for the stove. The bathroom has a rain shower head and new tile and fixtures throughout. For your convenience, a full size stackable washer and drier is located off the living area for washing swimsuits and clothes. Outside, there is a three quarter wrap around deck and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. There is a seating area on the back deck with a gas grill and spectacular views of the sound and the bridge. On the front deck, a private bistro seating area with jasmine growing over the pergola and outdoor lights is ideal for morning coffee or night time drinks and conversation. The cottage is one block away from an adorable little public beach access and the beach is only 121 steps from the front door! It is perfectly located off the traffic circle in Surf City, so you can walk to all the local shops, restaurants, Soundside Park and the pier! Bicycle rental is right across the street, with shopping and restaurants surrounding the area.
Private parking for two cars is directly behind the cottage with only three stairs up to the deck make unloading and loading vehicles easy. Trips with older family and friends will be convenient with the single story cottage and the few steps up. Your beach days will be relaxing with beach chairs and a beach canopy that are provided for our guests use. This cottage is perfect for a couple's getaway, girls' trip or a small family vacation to make beach memories!

The Salt Box has a laid back, casual coastal style designed to remind you of the surf shacks of the good old days...all with modern amenities, of course. With a mixture of new and vintage furnishings, a little boho thrown in...we’re sure you’ll love the stunning ocean views, the proximity to the beach access, and outdoor living spaces.

The space
Our cottage has beautiful unobstructed ocean views, is steps from the beach, and minutes to the best restaurants in Surf City! Dog friendly, with an enclosed lower outdoor area, you can feel comfortable bringing your four legged (canine) companions along for vacation! There are multiple level decks, outdoor seating areas and hammock swings. Relax in the hot tub or by the fire pit after a nice day at the beach. With a brand new kitchen and dining space, you’ll enjoy cooking meals at home. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to navigate. The huge farmhouse sink makes cleanup a breeze. There is a full sized refrigerator upstairs and another downstairs in the laundry room—great for storing beverages to fill your coolers without having to go upstairs!

There is a dual full sized and single serve Keurig coffee machine available, as well as a blender and a bottom mount Primo hot/cold bottled water machine.
All bedrooms have at least one bed with an ocean view, and all have a smart tv. Two of the bedrooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom.

Other things to note
Fresh linens are included in your cleaning fee. Guests are provided sheets, bath linens and a fresh duvet cover for use during your stay.

Our pet fee is $200 per weekly stay or $40 per night for short stays for up to 2 dogs. No breed or weight limit. Only well behaved, completely house trained dogs welcome. Sorry, no cats allowed due to allergies. Guests found to be exceeding the limit of 2 dogs will be considered in violation of the rental agreement and subject to immediate eviction from the premises.
