Two of the burners on the stove did not work and when using the stove/oven there was smoke. The window when opened to alleviate the smoke would not stay open. This property allows pets and unfortunately their cleaning and repairs do not keep up with previous occupants that have brought pets. On my last day of my stay, i moved a floor fan, only to discover dried dog feces behind the fan. Definitely not an experience i would have expected from this "app"."

- "This little gem of a cottage was perfect for the two of us. Had my daughter and her husband come, I think we might have felt it cramped. What everyone says about this cottage is true. The photos represent the cute and adorable nature of it. Although you have to cross the beach road to get to the ocean, for the two weeks we stayed there, that was NEVER difficult or dangerous. Cars generally are going slowly and seem to be used to looking out for pedestrians and STOP for them. Also, the Surfin’ Spoon next door is delightful. Just a family crowd. Never noisy or rowdy. Happy people, getting frozen yogurt on the front porch or in the front yard, and then they leave. We brought a sheet to hang on the clothesline for privacy, as someone had suggested, but we took it down. It cut down on the breeze, and we realized we LIKED seeing the Surfin’ Spoon crowd and they didn’t seem to notice us at all. Didn’t hear them after bedtime, either. The cottage lacks nothing. I’m pretty critical and all I missed was a vegetable peeler and a tea kettle. HA!! I would go back if just the two of us go again. I loved taking care of it. Very homey and comfortable."

We are located in the heart of Nags Head, one of the best locations on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Jim and I welcome guests who will enjoy a cottage that is in pristine condition. The cottage is in walking distance to the Bladen Street Beach Access (less then a (10 )ten minute walk or a two minute bike ride), we are between the highways which means you never have to cross the busy bypass to get to the beach! Take a stroll to the Nags Head Pier, Tortugas' Lie, and Lucky 12 Tavern or a bike ride to multiple art galleries, coffee shops, ice cream shops, and even Jockey's Ridge State Park (the largest dunes on the east coast which promise incredible sunsets). Kids and adults will enjoy a game of Putt Putt at Galaxy Golf. We pride ourselves in making sure the cottage is clean and well decorated. Adjoining the outdoor dining deck is a lounging deck which is a great place to lay out or read a book. We are less then nine miles to the town of Maneto and many Public Golf Courses.

Beach Me Up Scotty! is a cozy and affordable 2 bedroom, 2 & 1/2 bath, 1200 sq ft home. Located on oceanside and within a short walking distance to the ocean. There is a large sidewalk across from the house for bikes or walking that will take you to many local shops. , Master bedroom has a queen bed with joining full bath. Second bedroom has a full bed with twin trundle. Another full bathroom in the hallway. The living room has large open ceilings with large front windows for great views. Sea Spray Cottages were built in 1950. There are 5 cottage in total, each cottage is similar to the others, but unique in its own way.

My wife and I have been operating the SEA SPRAY COTTAGES OBX for vacation rentals since 2009. We run a mom & pop operation, an experience from a day gone-by but thoroughly enjoyed by our guests.

Cottage #4 is very unique to the outer banks; it is a one-bedroom cottage. It is perfect for couples who want to spend time at the beach in a well-appointed space without distraction from others. The cottage has a large great room with living, dining, kitchen, and desk space. The bedroom has a queen-size bed (linens and towels NOT provided) and tiled bath with tub/shower combination. Cottage #4 has a wrap-around porch that has a seating area to enjoy your favorite beverages at and a private outdoor dining area. There also is a patio in the rose garden for sunning on days that the beach may be a little too cool. Check in is at 4 and check out is at 10.

Dogs are welcome, we try to keep it to 2 (the cottages are primarily for folks). $125 for the first two and $100 each after that.

Also unique to the Outer Banks, Cottage #4 is available for nightly stays even during the summer. In the summer we do have a 3-night minimum.

The location of Sea Spray Cottages OBX is ideal. Centrally located at Mile Post 11.7 in Nags Head, just south of the Nags Head pier and north of Snowbird Soft Serve Ice Cream Shop. It is on the west side of the 'beach road' and faces the cottages that backup to the ocean (they are ocean front).

If your desired dates of travel are not available in this cottage, we have others. There are 5 cottages in total at Sea Spray Cottages OBX, all similar in vintage, but unique from one another. The Space:
This recently renovated 2 bedroom , 1.5 bath cottage is located on a quiet street in the gated community of Colington Harbor.
The property’s interior has a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. There is a washer/dryer, two queen bedrooms (one with attached half bath) and queen sleep sofa in the living room. Mini split A/C units and ceiling fan in each room allows for individual comfort levels. Both bedrooms and the living room have Smart TV’s. Mid-October through mid-April cozy up in front of the gas fireplace. And of course everyone's favorite - a big screened in back porch and outside shower.
Pets: *For an additional $20 nightly fee you are welcome to bring one dog under 20lbs to share in your vacation. Please include "pet" when making your reservation. Note the yard is not fenced in. Please keep your dog on a leash when not in the home to keep your pet safe and neighbors happy. Please also clean up after your pet.
Community amenities include the beautiful sound side park with sandy beach area, playground, shaded picnic area and dog park. The community pool is not included with the rental of this property. There is also a fenced in basketball court just before you turn onto our street.
Important things to note:
Cottage Owners dock their boat on the pier lift. The owners reserve the right to access the pier for purposes of using their boat, via the adjoining property. The boat and lift are private property, Not included with the rental of the home. The rest of the beautiful dock, is for guest enjoyment and even has a slip if you would like to bring your boat. A launch pass can be purchased at the Colington Harbor Office for a fee of $10 per day or $25 for the week. The office # is (252) 441-5886, 9 -5 Monday – Friday. The launch pass can also be purchased at the gate - cash only. The boat launch is located in the lower parking area below the office building.

Located in a gated community on the Back Bay about two blocks from the beach, our cottage is newly renovated and ready for your vacation getaway. Enjoy wonderful views of the bay and sunsets from the back deck after a long day soaking up the warm sun and sand at the beach or fishing from your own private dock and community boat slip. Play tennis at the courts located on site, enjoy the pool directly across from the cottage or the pool located at the main club house as well as take a bike ride through one of the nature trails in the Back Bay wildlife refuge or our own community. Pool hours are 10a-8p daily.

Our cottage offers one bedroom with a queen size memory foam pillow top mattress, Queen Size sofa bed in living room, and two recliners looking at a ROKU Smart TV with cable and internet available complimented by our blue tooth speaker. Kitchen dining combo as well as a six seater outdoor table. Full size bathtub shower combo within the cottage as well as a bath house and laundry facility just across the lane.

In addition to two bikes , two kayaks, two fishing poles, two beach chairs, and corn hole boards , we stock enough basic necessities that you can arrive knowing you have basic toiletries, coffee, creamer, paper towels(1), toilet paper(1), trash bag, and dish soap to get you settled. Several good seafood restaurants in Frisco and close by to Hatteras Island. Grocery store only 5 miles away. I should have taken advantage of the gas grill on screened patio but kitchen stove and ventilation hood very adequate. Also very close drive to Cape Hatteras Light Station! Bicycles nice option too. Really nice cottage and it’s all is up to the guests to do their homework and plan out the logistics to take advantage of their stay!"

Our small cottage is located in the perfect spot for seeing what all this area has to offer. This new construction is about 500 sq ft of spacious living space with a hot tub and patio overlooking the wetlands area behind the property. It is private and cozy; a great place to spend a honeymoon, anniversary, or maybe just to get away and reset. A short bike ride to see the sunset, a short drive to many public beach accesses, a short walk to Kitty Hawk Reserve where you can hike through the Maritime forest. Best of all, the star gazing from the hot tub is on point.

To ensure that you enjoy a restful vacation, there is a private master bedroom with a queen sized bed. This home also has a double loft with two twin beds and a lounging/play couch. Perfect for couples, small groups and families, this home sleeps up to 4 guests. There is also a gas grill, full kitchen (including dishwasher, stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave and basic housewares), and a private bathroom with standard plumbing fixtures (not RV or camper style). Pets are generally welcome and are subject to payment of an additional fee.

This tiny home is conveniently located for visiting Sandbridge Beach. Although you could bike or walk to the beach, there is ample free on-street parking near the many public beach access points and this home is located near Little Island Park which provides parking, bathhouses, playground, and a fishing pier for your beach outing. The resort is two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, and this home is located on the water near the back of the resort to provide you additional privacy and unobstructed 180+ degree bay views.

The other lots in the resort are privately owned and are occupied by other recreational vehicles of various types. 3- Due to the seasonal nature of rentals and the need to monitor our property when it is unoccupied, we have an exterior doorbell camera and an exterior camera facing the parking area. We have no interior cameras. We respect our guests’ privacy, but took this measure to ensure we can safeguard our property.

The outdoor space includes a picnic table for morning coffee or a romantic dinner, two hammocks for relaxing in after a day at the beach, chairs for chatting, a hose to rinse off your sandy toes, & soothing outdoor lighting. Free off street parking is directly in front of the could in the designated mulched area. A step stone path, on the left, will lead you through a tall gate to the main entrance to the cottage. The secondary entrance is on the right side. This side of the cottage is connected to *our home* with decking.

The neighborhood is centrally located in the heart of KDH! Getting around town is extremely easy from this location. We are in a quiet neighborhood, but close to all the action. Route 158 is 0.6 miles away. Several locations may be reached by traveling through Nags Head Woods and the neighborhood.

There are pets that live on the property. Sweet senior labs that you may hear upon arrival. They will always be separated from your space. We also have one cat. Kitty is our 4 year old cat. She is affectionate, but mostly keeps to herself.

The kitchen offers an open concept to the living and dining area so that as the "resident chef" you can feel included in all the conversation with your friends and family. There are 2 bedrooms for you to choose from. The one on your left as you enter the hallway is a brand new Beauty Rest Double bed with a lovely antique Pine dresser. The ceiling fan and mini-split heat pump will ensure that you or your guest sleep well at their own temperature.

The bedroom to the right, the Master, features a new Beauty Rest Queen bed, with cooling mattress cover. Also noted in the room for your sleeping comfort is a ceiling fan and your own mini-split heat pump as well. The 2 antique old English Pine dressers are here for you to place. your belongings in so that it feels just like home !

The center hall bathroom has just experienced a "from the sand up" renovation, all the while saving as much of the original structure as we could. We know that you will love the original Bead Board ceilings and new Ship Lap walls !! What are our 2 favorite features in the bathroom??? The deep Cast Iron soaking tub and the electric wall heater !! We know this will give you hours of enjoyment as you rest after a busy day exploring the wild beaches of Ocracoke !!

And the porch !!!! What an absolute delight you will experience with the large sofa and swing !! The wide expanse of the porch is perfect for early morning coffee and late night chats with those you have allowed to come with you on this adventure.

Our personal favorite is the outdoor shower --- After enjoying an outdoor shower you will have a hard time going inside to shower. With overhead coverage in case of rain or chilly weather, the full door gives your most modest guest to enjoy the experience. One thing to be mindful of with the pipes in this historic home, someone might get chilly if both showers and dish washer are running at the same time.

All of the yard space are yours to enjoy ! The fenced in yard is perfect for any gathering, including your pet. We do ask that all pet waste is removed from the yard as no one wants to put a toe into anything left behind!

The villages of Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo are often referred as the tri villages or RWS. At one time they were 3 distinct areas but now its hard to tell where one village ends and the other begins.

Our cottage in Salvo is a simple beach box that was the first one built in Hatteras Colony. It's one lot back from the ocean, and only 2 lots from the beach access.

It has central heating and air conditioning with ceiling fans throughout.

There are two bedrooms, one bath, with dining and living room, covered screened porch, sun deck, apartment sized washer~dryer combination, and an outdoor shower with hot/cold water.

A carry all for the complimentary beach towels and beach blankets is provided for your use.

A retractable clothes line and clothes pins are on the covered porch.

Free on site parking for two vehicles.

We are family friendly but do not have high chairs, cribs, etc. for small children. However, those items, and more, are available for rent locally. Wall outlets are tamper resistant and/or have safety caps in place.

To quote two special ladies, "This ain't no Jarvisburg road house" , so "Excessive partying, belligerence, violence, or the like of any of that, will not be tolerated."

Help conserve energy. There is often a nice cross breeze through the house thus the air conditioner is not always needed, but when it is please do not run the air conditioner with the windows and doors open. And please don't leave the tap, shower, or hose on when it's not in use. Thank you for assisting in these endeavors! Think globally, act locally.

Serendipity cottage is an important piece of Outer Banks history. This cottage used to be the station keeper's house for Kitty Hawk Life Saving Station #7. It served as the living quarters for the station keeper and is located right on the Beach Road in Kitty Hawk, NC between milepost 4.0 and 4.5. It is the perfect place if you are looking to relax and have a classic Outer Banks beach house experience. With this cottage, you are just steps away from the ocean....beach access is about a 200 foot walk to the corner! We have very quiet neighbors to the left, right, and behind us.

The cottage has a master bedroom with master bath, and an additional bedroom to spread out if you like. There is plenty of extra spaces to hang-out....on the rooftop deck, the front deck, the back deck, the screened sun-porch, the back yard, or under the cottage. There is also an outdoor shower with hot/cold water (Spring to Fall only), washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen (fridge, oven, microwave, dishes, pots, pans, and silverware) to make home-cooked meals as well as Nutri-Bullet for cold drinks and a Keurig coffee maker. We also have a laundry room with washer and dryer available for your use.

This is a very comfortable beach cottage with amazing views of the ocean. Our cottage has vintage and unique furnishings, as well as more modern amenities such as 2 flat-screen TVs, 2 DVD players, cable, WiFi, and a retro Atari game system. Nautical and beach decor is located throughout the cottage, and you will notice that there are books, board games and puzzles in just about every room and corner...including a few Rubik's cubes laying around! The main room also has a large collection of DVDs for your viewing pleasure. Many of the guests who stay at this cottage have been been coming for over 20+ years, and many of them say that they love the "comfortable feeling" as well as how close the cottage is to the beach and the ocean views.

If there is only one thing you do if you stay with us.....we highly recommend you get up early, grab some coffee or tea, and watch the sunrise over the ocean from the rooftop deck. It is a memory not soon to be forgotten.

We also have a completely fenced-in backyard and well-behaved dogs are allowed on a case-by-case basis. Sorry, no cats. There will be an additional $75 fee per dog to have a dog stay that will be requested via AirBnB prior to your stay. Please watch over your dog at all times so that they are safe and will not get into anything or destroy furniture or bedding. Also you will be responsible to pick-up after your dog, or pay for any damage done to the home or furnishings by your dog.

We also have a small shed that has beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and assorted beach toys. Please feel free to use them during your stay!

This is a older Outer Banks home and used to be the station keeper's house for Kitty Hawk Life Saving Station #7. It served as the living quarters for the station keeper and personnel and for many years was simply known as "The Station Keeper's House". In 1992 the owners changed its named to "Serendipity" and is has been called that ever since.

Please note that as this is an older home, and many of the doorways are low. The master bedroom is a pretty decent size, but the other bedrooms are relatively small. There are no closets in any of the bedrooms, but there are dressers and areas to hang clothes. You will find that you live out on the decks when it is warm, or in the enclosed sun porch when it's rainy.

Please Note: We love our cottage, but like any home or place you stay at...it will not be right for everyone. The cottage is 70+ years old, very clean, full of character, comfort, charm, and history. However, if you are looking for everything to be absolutely perfect, no imperfections anywhere, granite counter tops, and bamboo hardwood floors....then this home would probably not be a good fit for you. Our home is a clean, comfortable, and classic OBX beach cottage. This is a cozy cottage, customized for two. There are three rooms, a bedroom, small bathroom and living space. Within the living space there is a sofa bed to allow a friend or child their own privacy. There is a kitchenette within the living space provided with a microwave that will airfry, convect, and broil. A Keurig, grille and amenities such as plates, utensils, and stemless wine glasses are also available. The feature of the cottage is its proximity to the ocean. If you are interested in being a couch potato on your vacation this is not the place for you, but if you are going to take advantage of the unique landscape the area is blessed with you will appreciated the cottage's nearness to your activities and be grateful for its warm welcome at days end.

Enjoy your OBX vacation at this cozy beach cottage. There is a large combined family room, modern kitchen, and dining area with plenty of comfortable seating, a 55" Smart TV and access to our YouTube TV subscription and high speed Wi-Fi. There is a private screened porch, with access from the living area and the master bedroom, that includes a picnic table for outdoor covered dining and a lighted seating area.

Tortugas' Lie, a great local beach bar and restaurant, is a short five minute walk.

The space
This 3BR/2B home is fully equipped for a fun family vacation or weekend get-away. Enjoy morning coffee or eating meals in the screened-in porch. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, utensils, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker.

The master bedroom includes a king bed and a private bathroom with a glass enclosed shower. The 2nd bedroom includes a queen bed. The 3rd bedroom includes a twin-over-full bunk bed. The second full bath is in the hallway just outside the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms and includes a bathtub with shower. There is also a convenient outdoor shower on the lower level to clean up after a fun day at the beach (may not be available for use during Winter months).

The washer and dryer is on the lower level with separate outdoor access next to a covered carport. The carport is long enough to fit two cars under covered parking, and the driveway can accommodate up to two additional cars.

During the summer season (mid-June through mid-September), the house is available on a weekly basis. Check-in is Sunday at 4pm and check-out is at 10am the following Sunday. Otherwise, there is three night minimum stay.

Other things to note
Guests are responsible for providing their own bed linens, towels and toiletries. Pillows, blankets, bedspreads and kitchen linens are provided for your use. There are several local companies that provide linen rental service if desired, including Ocean Atlantic Rental and Just For The Beach Rentals.

While there may be a starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels when you arrive, you should plan on bringing what you will need when you arrive.

Tip Sea is shabby chic, a 4 minute walk to the beach, and in the heart of OBX, yet on a quieter street. It is an older cottage (including two original bathrooms) but is colorful with beachy decor-a true original beach box. The cottage is within walking distance to stores, restaurants, and a new brewery.

The space
3 bedrooms (2 Q rooms one room with 2 T beds) Walking from the front porch into the house, you will see the family room, hallway, and fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a full bath, and the other two rooms share the hallway full bathroom. The bathrooms are clean and shabby chic originals. The yard has plenty of play space (*note fence is now down). Super close to grocery stores, Dollar Tree, TJ Max, restaurants, French Fry district fast foods, and you can walk to the beach access in 4 minutes, or you can drive 2 blocks to park your car. Two restaurants at opposite ends of the street as well as a brewery and ice cream one block over from the end of the street. The front porch has nice quiet mornings with sounds of the seagulls, and the back of the house has beautiful sunset views. Perfect place for smaller families or 6 or less adults. The windows are older and we ask to not open them (hard to shut at times and two are covered). If modern is for you, Tip Sea is not. It has charm and is clean!
