- "This is a nice place to stay for a good price. Beach is walking distance and staff were very friendly. " - "This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks and we chose to stay at Sea Scape. At first we were unsure as the property is older and although well-maintained, not as flashy as some other places on the island. However, we quickly fell in love with the place - so much so that we're already planning to return next summer. The property we got was a 2 bedroom that could sleep 6 (7 if someone wanted to take the extra large sofa). There was a full kitchen, stocked with all the utensils, drink and dinnerware you'd need to feed a large group. The bathrooms were big and the entire place was spotless. The location was also very convenient. It's down a little ways into Kitty Hawk and close to things like Walmart and Harris Teeter, but still far enough away to the main strip to feel a little less crowded. Check-in was easy and there were lots of amenities. My husband and I really enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard in the game room. We were also able to get a few rounds of mini golf in that is located on site. Overall this was a fantastic experience and we highly recommend this place for a one-of-a-kind trip to OBX."

Situated in Hatteras Village, our cabana #33 is a free-standing studio, pet friendly condo just steps away from the beach. Enjoy a view of the ocean from the rooftop deck. The National Park Service maintains the adjacent beach which is part of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. This is the only beach in the Carolinas where you can enjoy the warmth and romance of a fire on the beach. Pets are allowed with a $75 pet fee plus tax.

The space
The free standing elevated cabana has three decks including a roof top deck with an ocean view. Ground level parking is provided under the unit. The entry deck has a picnic table. Enjoy an evening wine or cocktail from the two life guard chairs on the the roof top deck. The cabana has a 32-inch flat screen TV, Heat/AC, microwave, coffee pot, k-cup maker, toaster, crock pot, pots/pans, cutlery, silverware, and glasses.

NOTE: A starter bag of toilet paper, a roll of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, dish soap and trash bags are provided.

Linens, pillows, bedspread, bath towels, hand towels, and dish towel are provided. NOTE: Beach towels are not furnished. Furnished towels are not to be removed from the Cabana.

VACATION LEASE AGREEMENT This is a Vacation Rental Agreement. The rights and obligations of the parties to this agreement and include unique provisions permitting the expedited eviction of tenants. Your payment of money or taking possession of the property after receipt of this agreement is evidence of your acceptance of the agreement and your intention to use this property for a vacation rental. Thank you for making your reservation through Airbnb.

Check-in time is any time after 4:00 pm.

In consideration of the advance rent payment received and the mutual promises herein, Hatteras Cabana 33 LLC the Owner of the Hatteras Cabana "Another Day in Paradise" does hereby lease and rent to Tenant the certain property described within for the following terms and (website hidden) AGREEMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1. Cancellation Policy: AirBnB flexible policy
•Cleaning fees are always refunded if the guest did not check in.
•The Airbnb service fee is non-refundable.
•If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Airbnb within 24 hours of check-in.
•Airbnb will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.
•A reservation is officially canceled when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Change or Cancel.
•Cancellation policies may be superseded by the Guest Refund Policy, safety cancellations, or extenuating circumstances. Please review these exceptions.
•Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted.

2. Taxes: A 6.75% state sales tax and a 6% county occupancy tax are required on all rents and other fees associated with the reservation except for refundable Security Deposit. Taxes are subject to change without notice.

3. Security Deposit: The security deposit will be refunded to you within 48 hours of your departure provided there was not damage to the unit.

4. Check-Out: Cleaning and inspection depends upon your timely departure so that the Premises can be ready for the next scheduled tenants. Tenant is responsible for returning all furniture to original positions, vacuuming, sweeping all floor surfaces, putting away dishes, taking out trash and placing it in the provided outside dumpster, and closing and locking all windows and doors. Failure to follow proper check-out procedures will result in a charge to the security deposit. Premises must be vacated by 10:00 am on the day of check-out.or Tenant will be in material breach of this agreement expedited eviction against them. Any keys not returned to the office will be subject to a $10.00 per key lost key charge.

5. Occupancy: The maximum number of guests permitted may not exceed four.

6. Rules of the House. Tenant hereby acknowledges that they have read the terms and conditions of this Agreement as set forth herein and the "House Rules" for this property on the Airbnb website and that they will abide by and be bound by all of the terms and conditions therein.

7. Age Requirement: 19 unless 18 with AirBnB reviews. In the event that we determine at check-in that the tenant does not meet the specified age requirement Tenant will be in material breach of this lease and will be denied access to the Premises or be subject to immediate expedited eviction and will forfeit all rents and fees paid. Tenant agrees to furnish proper photo identification at check-in to verify that they are the Tenant as set forth herein and that they meet the specified age requirements. These rules are strictly enforced!

8. Pets. Dogs are permitted with the appropriate pet fee. We permit one housebroken dog unless additional dogs are disclosed and pre-approved at time of reservation. An additional $50 (plus tax) non-refundable pet fee is required for each approved dog. Any non-declared or unapproved pets will be charged the standard $75 non-refundable pet fee as well as a $75 non-declared pet fee for a total of $150 per pet per visit plus applicable taxes. This rule is strictly enforced! Agent reserves the right to inspect Premises without notice to verify compliance with all pet rules.

10. Noise: Dare County's noise ordinance is enforceable from 11 PM to 7AM

11. Maintenance and Repairs. Every reasonable effort is made to keep each property and its equipment in good working order. Please call John promptly of any difficulty you incur during your stay. Due to the remote nature of our area and the inability to obtain replacement parts quickly, immediate servicing of malfunctioning units often is not possible. Therefore the microwave, TV, air conditioner and other non-essential items cannot be guaranteed to be operational. Upon notice by Tenant we will make every effort to have such items repaired as quickly as possible. Replacements are not provided. There will be no rebates or discounts. The Landlord shall have the right to inspect Premises during tenancy and make repairs during the rental period.

12. Limitations of Remedies, Damages and Indemnity: In the event the owner is unable to deliver possession of Premises to Tenant under this lease agreement Tenant hereby agrees that their sole remedy is a full refund of any and all rents, fees, taxes and refundable security deposits made to Owner, and that Tenant will hold harmless Owner for any consequential or secondary damages that Tenant suffers due to the unavailability of Premises, including but not limited to expenses incurred as a result of travel, or renting alternative housing. Owner is responsible for all refunds of advance rental payments made by tenant. If Premises is unavailable for occupancy due to inaccessibility due to storms or storm damage no refunds will be given. Tenant also agrees that in the case of a double booking, Tenant is only entitled to the full refund of all consideration previously tendered by Tenant. Tenant agrees to release and indemnify the Owner from and against all liability for injury to the person of the Tenant or to any member of their household resulting from any cause whatsoever, except for such personal injury caused by the gross negligence or intentional acts of the Owner. Tenant shall not be entitled to any refund due to unfavorable weather, voluntary or mandatory evacuation, or disruption of utility services (including internet and cable TV). Tenant agrees to be responsible for any necessary repairs due to their intentional or negligent acts or failure to act as well as any pet damage.

13. Separability of Provisions. If by operation of law any provision of this agreement is or becomes unenforceable, all remaining lawful provisions shall be enforceable.

Keep it simple at our centrally located beach box in Kill Devil Hills! The residents in our cozy home include my husband and myself, our son (occasionally lol) Chris, our cat, Tarzan, and our friendly doggie, Max. We have an extra bedroom with a comfy queen bed available for 2 people. The bathroom would be shared with other guests if we have any. Why pay outrageous hotel prices when you can rent our cozy room with full access to our kitchen for a fraction of the cost!

Other things to note
Please no food or drinks in the bedroom, except water as the carpet is new. Please be aware this is the south, and during the summer, particularly on this beach, palmetto bugs and ants are common. We take every precaution to keep them out of our house unfortunately it is a man versus nature situation. Not even the million dollar homes are immune to having one find its way inside. Not to worry, on the off chance you spot a critter with more legs than you, my husband will spring into action and remove the nasty little thing immediately. I will be hiding in the corner with you until he gets it lol.
PLEASE NOTE...there are pets in our home, and my husband and I are both cigarette smokers (only outside, NEVER in the home). If you are an allergy sufferer, I want to give full disclosure so there are no unpleasant surprises! If cigarettes smoke outdoors on the deck would bother you, please feel free to let us know and we will refrain from smoking on the deck!

The space
We consider our retreat family home cozy, bright and happy. Since our mom was French, there are French accents in the home.

So it is great place to relax after a hot day or chilly day of fishing. We cooked a lot of seafood there.

The front bedroom has darkening shades and there is a trundle bed under the day bed. 2 generations of kids enjoyed that front room.

You may have access to the whole condo, except the little shed. Our laundry dryer is a stackable unit. So it's more of a convenience for small loads. If you have many large loads, you may wish to consider a laundromat.

Please park in designated space 238. If you have multiple cars use "Guest" spaces. Except guest spot between 238 and 240. My local helper parks in that one!

During the summer season, check in may be on a Sunday or Friday if that is available. The Airbnb matrix was only allowing specific days. In the summer in this area, weekly rentals are more prominent.

Walk in closet: desk space, shelves and rods for hanging clothes
Bathroom: standard sink, toilet and stand up shower, wall heater (towels/washcloths are provided)
Shared spaces include the yard and the back hallway, which provides access to the shared laundry room. The backyard is fenced in and you may encounter the well behaved chickens on the property. There is an outdoor shower, seasonal hot tub (currently OPEN,) hammock, fire pit, gas grill and picnic table located in the backyard

Guest access
The private front entrance is on the ground floor, with an electronic lock for your convenience. The back hallway has a shared exterior entrance and another private entrance to the apartment.

Other things to note
Lots of beach gear is supplied. This includes beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, coolers, wagon/cart, fishing supplies, etc. There are also kayaks, SUPs, surfboards and a well loved floating mat which is great for going to the sound!
While the location is walking distance to the beach, it’s not a reasonable distance to transport the kayaks and such. We provide straps and foam blocks for this if your vehicle does not have racks or enough room. If you’re thinking about purchasing or renting something beach related specifically for your trip, please contact us first. If we don’t have it, we can probably tell you the best place to find it.

Your vacation rental is treated for insects on a regular basis by Outer Banks Pest Control. Along with the loveable wildlife we have here on the OBX you may encounter others that are not as lovable. Listed below are a few of the most common pests:
Lizards and frogs: Harmless and small but sometimes hang around the yard.
Snakes: Many species, both venomous and non-venomous. When you're on the sound, stay away from the grassy marsh areas as this is where they live. They won't bother you if you don't bother them. We rarely see any in the yard.
No See Ums: Looks like a flea or gnat - best avoided by utilizing insect repellant. Most bothersome at the beach. Also known as midges or sand flies.
Biting flies: On days when the west winds have been blowing, they fly over from inland and are a nuisance on the beach. Wear bug spray and it will help. Pretty rare but they do come over when the west winds blow.
Palmetto Bugs: Looks like a cockroach - harmless and a common part of island life. Also known as water bugs, because they are more abundant after rain or periods of high humidity.
House flies and gnats: they love air conditioning so if there's a window cracked or the door open, they will invite themselves in.

The hot tub is seasonal from around May through September. It is currently OPEN. Please keep it covered when not in use to avoid leaves, bugs, etc. in the water.

Smoking is NOT ALLOWED in the rental. A fee of $200 will be assessed if it is determined that smoking occurred. No cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, vapes, e-cigarettes, bongs, hookahs, pipes, or anything that might smell like any of the above. Smoking outside is allowed, please dispose of your trash appropriately.

Do not flush anything except toilet tissue. Small trash bags are provided for wipes, hygiene products, etc.

Feel free to park in any open space in the driveway.

There is a reasonable amount of noise from “daily life” from upstairs and in the neighborhood. Quiet hours are 11pm - 6am for both upstairs and downstairs spaces.
