We chose a private queen room with an en suite bathroom. Pictures accurately describe the room. No heat or AC with the older building unfortunately, but they do provide a small desk fan should you need it. Great water pressure with an eco-friendly, LED shower head to monitor your consumption. The included breakfast was basic but good enough, and there was a great coffee shop across the road for which the hostel provided a discount voucher. The lobby area was quite small and was the only place to socialise or meet others, so this wasn’t the easiest place to meet others but I was able to meet a couple of people. There are socials advertised but these are run by another hostel and are a fair distance to travel to get to. Location was good - close to fisherman’s wharf and a bus route right outside. They also allowed luggage to be stored for a few days whilst I went out of town. Overall I’d recommend and would stay again. "

- "I stayed with good people and the two owners were kind and friendly. Cheap to stay but the service wasn't bad. I spent a good time there. I've been travelling to almost 100 countries, always staying at budget accommodations around the world, by this price in SAN FRANCISCO, USA, I think European Hostel is not too bad. For me, it deserves a five star review. Remember we paid not too much more than just tips for having a great meal at a good restaurant in USA. Great location, easily access by bus or BART from airport, Chase Center or other tourist attractions. Room and bed are simple, make sence as we got what we paid, at least they didn't have extra charge for bed sheet. Kitchen, toilets and showers are actually not too bad, everything works well, no towel and shampoo is normal in a budget hostel, shower water is hot and door is lockable, BUT, in a lowest price accommodation of a huge famous tourism city, you'll never know how worse that some guests can make everything into, it's not the fault of owner or anyone who works here. No smile is cool, I don't see too much warm smile in budget places of North America and Europe, I think smiles are not included in the bill, and we actually didn't pay extra tips. Welcome to the smallest of the San Francisco hostels! We may be little, but we’ve got huge personality. Our space is all about creating community with fascinating travelers from around the world. Looking for instant friendships and awesome vibes? You found us! We believe hostels are far more than just a cheap place to stay, and we are seeking out guests who feel the same.

We also have a fully stocked kitchen, clean bathrooms, and cozy common room to hang out. We are currently asking guests to keep their distance from one another and wear masks as well!

We have free coffee and tea available for our guests and you are more than welcome to use our kitchen! We just ask that one person is in there at a time.
