Our home has the highest cleaning standards. Every surface is wiped down, cleaned and sanitized. Our linens are washed and rotated between every single stay. Every mattress and pillow has an encasement.

The house is a 10 min walk to the beach, a 5 min walk to the lake (Lake Como), 20 min walk to Spring Lake downtown, 12 blocks to the train station. Walking distance to the multiple restaurants and bars.

There are five bedrooms, all with king and queen beds, 3.5 baths, an outdoor shower, and a huge back patio with a bar to relax after a day at the beach.

We fell in love with Belmar several years ago and look to share our experience with our guests for the summer months. Our goal is to offer a vacation home where our guests feel like they are home. We worked to ensure everything you need is available, from books, games, TVs, things needed to make dinner, grill or entertain with family and friends. If we felt we needed it to do the same we made sure it's available for our guests. Having rented for many years ourselves, we learned what we may have missed or felt we needed to make our time on vacation easy.

We are a short walk to the beach and just as equally a short walk to town. Giving you the opportunity to never get in your car. There are a number of great places to go with family and friends.

We rent this property from Saturday to Saturday, June 27 - August 29. Have an extended family joining you on vacation? Need more rooms? The cottage proved to be spotlessly clean, even when I “dared” to store something on high cabinet shelves in the kitchen. I would give it six stars for cleanliness if I could. The cottage was excellently equipped, with all the pans, bedding, coffee filters, etc that we needed during our stay. The grill had plenty of propane. The owners were very friendly and accessible. Although they lived in the cottage next door on some days, we still felt like we had full privacy. Speaking of great privacy, this house has a town park behind it, instead of more houses. The Spring Lake beach is an easy 0.6 mile walk away, although we often chose to drive. Free parking was plentiful. We had a great week at the shore, and would definitely stay here again."

This is a newer home with beautiful water views from the entire house. Enjoy the sunsets and watch the boats from our deck. When the beach is too hot, there is a private pool and an outdoor shower.
Within a 5 minute walk you have: Maclearie Park with tennis, pickelball courts, and a playground. Also paddle board rentals, boat rentals, fishing and sightseeing charters, parasailing, mini golf, L Street public beach and boat ramp. And there is waterside dining at Marina Grill and 9th Avenue Pier. Great for sunsets!
Belmar has free summer concerts. Check out the Belmar.com tourism page. It lists a self guided walking tour, the “treasure trail”. There are several public golf courses near-by as well as a driving range. The ocean is less than a mile away and we provide 4 beach badges and chairs. We have parking for 4 cars in our driveway. We have two kayaks and several bicycles for your use, and a grill for barbequing.

So much to do, or relax and do nothing.

This is a quiet residential neighborhood where quiet hours are enforced after 10pm. Parties or additional guests are prohibited. We have a security camera in the patio/pool area for safety and security. The surveillance feature will not be used while the house is occupied, only the motion detector to turn on the security light. Our landscaper will be by once a week to trim the lawn, but only the front and street area. We will come by to clean the pool on Thursdays between 1 and 3pm. Or a different time at your option.

The Captain's Cottage is in an awesome location in the back of a property that is across from the waterfront park along Shark River. Paddle-board/kayak rentals, fishing piers, charter boats, mini-golf, and Belmar's newest waterside restaurants are right across the street. Waterfront views from the yard and one of the best sunsets at the shore! Includes 2 person kayak, 2 bikes & 2 beach badges! Perfect shore weekend getaway for couples or small group of friends. 1 mile to ocean. Short Uber, bike, or train ride to Asbury Park. Also, please note that there are two houses on this property, both are rental listings. Privacy is no concern... the two houses, their addresses, yards, and parking are all separated. However, the driveway entrance is shared. This listing is for the back house on the property.
The Captain's Cottage is in a very unique location for Belmar. In the past few years, the Belmar Marina area has gained popularity as park spaces, waterfront walkways, fishing piers, and new bars and restaurants have opened up along the Shark River. 9th Ave Pier and Marina Grille have been a big hit, where you can enjoy a waterfront meal and drink while watching the beautiful sunset. Fishing charter boats, mini golf, parasailing, kayak/stand-up paddleboard rentals are also available in this area. The home is still close to Main Street and roughly one mile to the ocean. As an alternative to the ocean, there is also a free beach along Shark River directly across the street from the home. It is also a short Uber, bike, or train ride to Asbury Park. Parking: Two cars can fit in the space assigned, and additional parking is available for no cost at the adjacent side streets (K or L Street). The Belmar Train Station and Belmar Main Street is a short walk. It is one mile from the ocean and there is also a free public beach right across the street along the Shark River. A very short Uber, bike, or train ride to Asbury Park. Please be mindful of the shared driveway entrance and parking assignments.
