We fell in love with Belmar several years ago and look to share our experience with our guests for the summer months. Our goal is to offer a vacation home where our guests feel like they are home. We worked to ensure everything you need is available, from books, games, TVs, things needed to make dinner, grill or entertain with family and friends. If we felt we needed it to do the same we made sure it's available for our guests. Having rented for many years ourselves, we learned what we may have missed or felt we needed to make our time on vacation easy.

We are a short walk to the beach and just as equally a short walk to town. Giving you the opportunity to never get in your car. There are a number of great places to go with family and friends.

We rent this property from Saturday to Saturday, June 27 - August 29. Have an extended family joining you on vacation? Need more rooms? The cottage proved to be spotlessly clean, even when I “dared” to store something on high cabinet shelves in the kitchen. I would give it six stars for cleanliness if I could. The cottage was excellently equipped, with all the pans, bedding, coffee filters, etc that we needed during our stay. The grill had plenty of propane. The owners were very friendly and accessible. Although they lived in the cottage next door on some days, we still felt like we had full privacy. Speaking of great privacy, this house has a town park behind it, instead of more houses. The Spring Lake beach is an easy 0.6 mile walk away, although we often chose to drive. Free parking was plentiful. We had a great week at the shore, and would definitely stay here again."

This is a newer home with beautiful water views from the entire house. Enjoy the sunsets and watch the boats from our deck. When the beach is too hot, there is a private pool and an outdoor shower.
Within a 5 minute walk you have: Maclearie Park with tennis, pickelball courts, and a playground. Also paddle board rentals, boat rentals, fishing and sightseeing charters, parasailing, mini golf, L Street public beach and boat ramp. And there is waterside dining at Marina Grill and 9th Avenue Pier. Great for sunsets!
Belmar has free summer concerts. Check out the Belmar.com tourism page. It lists a self guided walking tour, the “treasure trail”. There are several public golf courses near-by as well as a driving range. The ocean is less than a mile away and we provide 4 beach badges and chairs. We have parking for 4 cars in our driveway. We have two kayaks and several bicycles for your use, and a grill for barbequing.

So much to do, or relax and do nothing.

This is a quiet residential neighborhood where quiet hours are enforced after 10pm. Parties or additional guests are prohibited. We have a security camera in the patio/pool area for safety and security. The surveillance feature will not be used while the house is occupied, only the motion detector to turn on the security light. Our landscaper will be by once a week to trim the lawn, but only the front and street area. We will come by to clean the pool on Thursdays between 1 and 3pm. Or a different time at your option.

The Captain's Cottage is in a very unique location for Belmar. In the past few years, the Belmar Marina area has gained popularity as park spaces, waterfront walkways, fishing piers, and new bars and restaurants have opened up along the Shark River. 9th Ave Pier and Marina Grille have been a big hit, where you can enjoy a waterfront meal and drink while watching the beautiful sunset. Fishing charter boats, mini golf, parasailing, kayak/stand-up paddleboard rentals are also available in this area. The home is still close to Main Street and roughly one mile to the ocean. As an alternative to the ocean, there is also a free beach along Shark River directly across the street from the home. It is also a short Uber, bike, or train ride to Asbury Park. Parking: Two cars can fit in the space assigned, and additional parking is available for no cost at the adjacent side streets (K or L Street). The Belmar Train Station and Belmar Main Street is a short walk. It is one mile from the ocean and there is also a free public beach right across the street along the Shark River. A very short Uber, bike, or train ride to Asbury Park. Please be mindful of the shared driveway entrance and parking assignments.

Walking distance to Belmar main street where you can find shopping and great restaurants. Belmar ( NJ transit ) within 15min walking distance which is approximately just over a 1hr 1/2 to Manhattan(NYC Penn station). Avon by the sea is a 10 min car ride. Asbury park is a 20 min car ride

Please read carefully. The boat is from 1984 Kiri model 29 boat is almost 40 years old and it is rustic inside meaning it is not perfect.
Boat is conveniently located on the border between two towns, Belmar and Neptune, only minutes away from the beautiful beaches, cute cafes, wonderful restaurants, and hoppin bars. Whether you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway or a party-filled weekend at the shore, cant find a better location. You cannot take the boat out. The boat must remain docked.

The space
The boat is a spacious 29 footer. The interior has a kitchennette, dining table, seating and two double size berths. Additionally, you have access to a facilities building (showers, toilets, resting area with table). Running water is on the deck. Please use the bathroom in facilitate building. Portable party potty by request if need it. Marina is very friendly for fisherman. The boat comfortably fits two people, but is technically designed for four.(price is set up for two people if more additional charge will be applied ). Portable AC by request .

*V-berth is a bed in the front of the boat that has a triangular shape

By request, we can provide you with two kayaks for free. If you would like to rent bicycles, the cost is $15 per bike per day. You must take the bikes for your entire stay and will be charged for each day. Other items available by request only include: tennis rackets, fishing rod, volleyball (for nets at the beach), extra cooler, iron, fan, umbrella, etc. Due to the limited space on the boat , you must request any amenities at least 24 h before check in. Other things to note
Be aware: you are staying on the water and you have to be extremely careful with fire and alcohol. Remember the docks are narrow and you can slip and drown if you are not cautious at all times. It is more like camping than a hotel but a heck of a lot of fun ;) .

The Marina has its own set of rules, including, but not limited to: being courteous to other boat owners, keeping the facilities room clean, and keeping noise levels down between 10pm and 8am. Most boats in the Marina are fishing boats. A few organize fishing trips for very reasonable prices. We could help you arrange such a trip, if you are interested. No parties allowed on the boat or on the dock. The dock must remain clear at all times - this includes personal items, bikes and kayaks. No riding bikes on the dock. Access to the engine and mechanical compartments is strictly prohibited. I make every effort to accommodate all my guests, recognizing that every person is different and has unique preferences. The Captain's Cottage is in a very unique location for Belmar. In the past few years, the Belmar Marina area has gained popularity as park spaces, waterfront walkways, fishing piers, and new bars and restaurants have opened up along the Shark River. 9th Ave Pier and Marina Grille have been a big hit, where you can enjoy a waterfront meal and drink while watching the beautiful sunset. Fishing charter boats, mini golf, parasailing, kayak/stand-up paddleboard rentals are also available in this area. The home is still close to Main Street and roughly one mile to the ocean. As an alternative to the ocean, there is also a free beach along Shark River directly across the street from the home. It is also a short Uber, bike, or train ride to Asbury Park. Parking: Two cars can fit in the space assigned, and additional parking is available for no cost at the adjacent side streets (K or L Street). The bedroom has a queensize bed and there is a flat screen tv in there. There is a large leather white couch in the living room area. There is also a futon, and two blow up air mattresses. There are extra pillows and blankets in the house. It has a dinette where you can eat with two chairs. It has gorgeous big windows throughout the home, as well as a jet tub in the shower. Please bring beach towels. There is an area outside with sand all along the side of the house, and chairs on it. Out doors there is 4 chairs and two small tables for when you want to sit out doors.

It will lead you past Joes Surf Shack resturant, and near the popular strip of restaurants and food options along the beach. The house has a very nice yard and table outdoors, and has hammock for guest to enjoy and relax.

Baby and family friendly- The house comes with many baby Amenities for the comfort of hosting little ones. There is a folding crib, a Pack and Play, a Bottle warmer, and a baby Bottle Sanitizer.


The master bedroom has a queen bed, and a folding bed in the closet.

House is set back from the street with great privacy and quiet escape from your daily routine.

The space
Beach feel throughout, fully stocked kitchen with microwave, french press, wine glasses and all dishes and silverware. Most essentials such as soap, bed sheets, pillows, and toilet paper included. Please bring your own bath and beach towels. Washer and dryer and dishwasher in unit. Living room has a pull out sofa bed, a smart TV to stream Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. Pack and Play available. Two beach badges for Belmar beaches included. (Both beach badges must be turned in at check out.) Free WiFi.

Outdoor patio includes chairs and a table to enjoy an afternoon drink or morning coffee. Large picnic table and grill completes the outdoor space. Small, attached outdoor shed will hold a beach cart for your convenience. You may store your beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys here as well.

There is grass and patio space to lounge and relax. When facing the home, the grass space on the left side of the home is for the first floor guests. You may use any of the grass space on the left side from the home, all the way up to the sidewalk. (Please note there is no smoking permitted inside or on premises.)

The property is one multifamily dwelling, divided into two individual apartments with separate entrances from the outside and non-connected living spaces. Owner occupies the 2nd floor unit.

Apartment was completely redone this winter. This is a two-bedroom, one full bath apartment (shower, no tub), with a full kitchen and stainless appliances. WiFI is included. Brand new smart TVs in both bedrooms and the living room, which boasts a 75-inch screen.

The space
Quiet, comfortable cottage, nice for a couple, but with plenty of room for more. Charming front yard with Adirondack chairs, a bench, rose bushes and a small crape myrtle tree.
Backyard has a grill, chairs for relaxing, and patio dining for 4.
Sheets & towels, 2 beach badges + bikes, beach chairs, and other accessories included in the stay!

Note: The front door enters into the office/2nd bedroom. It has a big desk, closet, and daybed w/pop-up twin trundle, and barn doors that open into the living room. There's also a backdoor if you choose to use that exclusively.

Inquire for pack-n-play or other baby/child needs that I may be able to offer. I have a 6 yr old, so toys, books, etc. also available.

Street parking is not a problem, and it's a quick bike ride to everything in town.
I have a shared narrow driveway with my next door neighbor, but she does not use it, and I require that guests also do not park off the street. Please keep to my side of the driveway when walking or biking in and out of the backyard, and respect her privacy. While my home does not have cameras, she does, and they will cover the driveway.

This is my home, and I live here year-round. My personal items are in the house, and some drawers and cabinets will be unavailable -- but more than enough are open for your needs. One room is locked off for my storage.

All the main living quarters are located on one floor. Master bedroom has a safe for valuables as well as Queen bed with double closets and private half bath. Both bedrooms, dinning room and game room has ceiling fans. The home also has an outdoor shower with changing room. Parking space for multiple cars on one sides of the home and single space in front of the garage. Small garage for storing bikes, beach chairs, umbrella, beach cart, tennis rackets, single fishing 🎣 pole, and guest luggage’s. Washer and dryer on the premises. The kitchen cabinets and refrigerator has the following items for all guests: cooking oil, salt, sugar, tea 🍵 bags, coffee grounds and water.

The space
Heating and Cooling - Our home has central air cooling and heating on the entire first floor. The second floor bedroom has electrical heating for the winter months and an AC window unit for cooling in the summer months.

The property counts with 4 entry/exit points. Guests will have access to enter only through the main front door, but they can exit through any of the 4 doors as they wish; Do not worry, all doors will securely lock behind you once properly closed.

Guests will have access to the entire home with the exception of the basement.
Guests also have access to the large private driveway attached to the property. (can fit up to 4 cars)

Other things to note
We provide ear plugs for guests who may be sensitive to the train noise at night - you can find them in each bathroom!

Guests may flush toilet paper in the first floor bathroom, in a moderate matter of course. Please do not flush wet wipes, makeup wipes, feminine hygiene products, etc - these must go in the trash bin.

The smaller bathroom in the lower level of the home has smaller plumbing. In order to avoid inconveniences to our guests, we ask that you refrain from flushing paper-waste down the toilet in this bathroom - this includes toilet paper, wet wipes, makeup wipes and feminine hygiene products.
