This historic twin farmhouse was built in 1889 and is located in the historic Yorkshire neighborhood of Burlington, New Jersey. Burlington was a well-established river crossing before English Quakers landed here in 1677. Aren't Schuyler, an early Dutch settler, operated a tavern and rope ferry to convey wagons and passengers between Burlington and Bristol, Pennsylvania. The English colonial government chartered an official ferry between the two towns in 1713.

- "The property is well-maintained, cozy and on the whole I really enjoyed it. Some amenities were missing, particularly in the bathroom - no hand towel, lack of toiletries, no place to put bathing necessities, no hairdryer. These things are easily fixed. A bigger concern is inability to lock individual rooms. I also recommend proving bottled water in the rooms and having coffee available in the morning." - "Host was nice and communicated well."

Our historic 2 bedroom town home is located in the beautiful historic district of Burlington, NJ, less than 25 miles to center city Philadelphia and about an hour and a half to New York City. We are close to Sesame Place too (if you have kids you know what I’m talking about!)

This town home is on a shady tree lined, brick sidewalk street one half a block from the Delaware river. On the river enjoy a more than a mile long promenade and park with bike trails to the Burlington Marina. The neighborhood is definitely historic, Benjamin Franklin once had a printing press at the end of our street! The home has stained trim, hard wood floors and the original hand-sawn beams in the kitchen. The smaller bedroom with queen bed is on the second floor, and the top third floor is a bedroom with two twin beds. The bathroom (full one) is on the second floor and has a shower and a separate claw foot tub for soaking.
The kitchen is fully equipped with: gas stove, dishwasher, referigerator, microwave, coffee maker and full utensils as well as dishes and silverware. It's our home, so It has everything you could possibly need!
Upon checking in please help yourself to complimentary water, sparkling water, soda, coffee or tea! Our home is your home!
Please remember this house is an historic townhouse, and the bedrooms are on the second and third floor.
Parking is on the street, but there is never an issue, and we have a multi-space lot at the beginning of our street.
Home access is with a secure, personal 8 digit cipher lock front door entry. I will either text or email you your access code the day before you arrive. Check in is super simple. The last thing you (and I) need when traveling is a hassle at check-in. Very flexible check in and check out makes your stay stress free, let us talk about your needs. Running late? No problem!

Super fast WIFI ensures uninterrupted internet connections throughout the house and back patio.
Parking is on-street only. This historic district is mostly historic row homes but there is plenty of parking in front of the house (first come-first serve) and down Wood Street towards the river. Take a look at any online map and you can see there is lots of parking. If it really gets crazy (street fairs, car shows, boat parades and other special events) at the beginning of the block on High Street (the main street thru town) and Pearl Street (our street) the old fire station has a parking lot that's on the same block as the house. Tons of parking here too!
Our home is half a block from the Delaware river and we have a mile long or more promenade that runs along the river front. The bandstand has concerts in the summer and they show movies there as well. Bring a blanket! The elementary school has a big playground a block down Pearl Street and has all the swings, monkey bars, basketball hoops and stuff like that. My kids used to love that playground!
There are a few private swim clubs around and they allow day guests. One I found is in Collingswood, NJ, about 25 minutes south. They do sell day passes to the public pool at Roberts Park.
The 'River Line' light rail runs from Trenton, NJ (the capital of NJ) to Camden, NJ (connection to Philly.)
A short two block walk to the light rail north and to a NJ Transit connection in Trenton, gets you to Penn Station in NYC in a little more than an hour.
The light rail south to Camden with a connection to PATCO high speed line gets into Philly around 45 minutes or less. Our European guests (we have had a bunch) say they like the transit situation for getting around. I have taken it from both Newark Liberty airport and Philadelphia International Airport, pretty easy to navigate.

- "This was such an incredible rental! It was immaculate! Every detail was thought out - from the super comfortable bed to the high quality shower products. Aidan was super responsive and helpful - great communication! Couldn’t have had a better rental experience!!!" - "It is hard to leave a rating for a property I could never manage to get the keys to after hours of waiting for "someone" to show up with them. After multiple calls and a visit with property owner we had no choice but to have it cancelled as no one ever showed up with keys. Very disappointed is an understatement after hours of travelling."

The Quaker House met all of our needs and were sooooo accommodating making our visit run smoothly. The kids enjoyed it as well as it was spacious and rich with history. - "Me and my family enjoyed our stay" - "Dangerous neighbourhood. Stay away. People were peeking into my car within 10 minutes of checking. Cops running up and down the street constantly. Place is no where near shown on VRBO. Sinking floors, broken staircases makes you dizzy. So many bugs flying and crawling. No bed sheets. Overall very dirty and scary. Contacted VRBO right after check-in about 10 PM, was told to stay and they were not able to do anything. I walked away from this dangerous place within an hour and had to find a better place in the middle of the night. Will file for refund."
