- "It was ok. For starters, there is not heat. There is no fireplace, even though it states there is one. There is an electric, space heater on the wall Difficult to find the place, as there is no address sign, and the road is very dark. Interior is less than finished. The bathroom door isn’t tall enough for the opening, and there is a gap at the top when it’s closed. One bedroom doesn’t have a doorknob. Privacy is lacking, overall. Outside fire pit lights turned off at 9pm on their own. This was annoying since we wanted to stay out there. "

Northern Bliss cabin is in the middle of the nowhere, but close to everything. This is right on the southern boundary of Wilderness State Park. This nearby park offers miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, hiking trails and thousands of acres of unspoiled wilderness to explore.
It's only about 15 miles to Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island ferries for plenty of fun activities, dining options and shopping. It's also only 3 miles to Sturgeon Bay to enjoy some of the best scenic dunes and sandy beaches on Lake Michigan.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen sized bed and one with two twin beds. The kitchen offers plenty of room for preparing meals and the dining area has seating for 4. Clean linens and towels are provided at check-in. We recommend bringing your own beach towels and blanket if you'll be enjoying a day at the beach.
The cabin is on a private road with a 10 acre lot in the northern hardwoods. It offers modern amenities including high speed wi-fi internet, streaming tv, a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, and full bathroom. There is a cozy wood burning stove inside, charcoal and gas grill, and a fire pit out back to enjoy an evening campfire under the stars. An outdoor cedar sauna was recently installed right off of the back deck. It's a perfect place to relax and warm up on a cool night after a fun day in Northern MI.
Less than 5 miles away is McGulpin Point Lighthouse and the Headlands International Dark Sky Park- a property recent designated as one of only six International Dark Sky parks in the nation -- making it a bastion for stargazers.
Bring your kayaks or canoe to explore O'Neal Lake. Access to this small wilderness lake is only a mile from the cabin. There are no homes on this lake, just an abundance of wildlife including bald eagles, osprey, loons, hawks & more.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon. Thank you!

This sweet little cabin is located within Wilderness State Park. It sits on 13 acres and located across the road from Lake Michigan. It has 1 bath and sleeps up to 4.
This gem of a cabin was just constructed in 2017. It is privately owned and sits on 13 beautiful acres in Wilderness State Park near Mackinaw City and is directly across the road from Lake Michigan. It sits on a hill and has wonderful views of the Big Stone Bay. There is a large deck overlooking the Bay and offers ample opportunity to view the variety of wildlife here. Watch the eagles, osprey, loons, deer, fox, coyote, bobcat and maybe you'll be lucky enough to spot a bear. The park offers miles of hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross country ski trails. The bay is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, sailing, fishing or just enjoying a leisurely swim. Wilderness is just completing a "day park" a short distance away that has a wonderful sandy beach, bathroom facilities and lots of sunshine! The water is crystal clear and the Lake has a nice, sandy bottom that is shallow for quite a distance. It makes for great beach time with the kids.
The cabin comes complete with dishes, pots and pans, silverware and cooking utensils. There is a toaster, coffee pot, electric oven/stove, griddle, microwave and full size refrigerator. There are 2 large ceiling fans for warm days but there is generally a nice breeze. There is also a gas grill/propane provided for you use as well as a picnic table for outdoor dining.
The cabin has 1 bedroom with twin beds, a queen size sleeper sofa in the living area and lots of windows to let in the light. The cabin is bright and cheery with views of the surrounding area from every room.
We encourage you to bring your boat, kayaks, canoes, bikes or other outdoor "toys" for your pleasure. The Wilderness Park boat launch is across the road for putting in and plenty of parking on the property for your boat/trailer. If you will be using the boat launch, or using any Wilderness Park facilities, you will need to purchase a park pass at the Rangers Station which will give you access to the park and it's services.
There is a great general store (Cecil Bay Trading Post) a few miles away and the closest Grocery Store, gas station, and shopping is in Mackinaw City, about 20 minutes away.
If you are interested in visiting some of the local areas, the cabin is a short drive (within 30 minutes) to Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Carp Lake, Alanson, Petoskey, Good Hart, Cross Village, Harbor Springs and Indian River. Everything from fine dining to roadside cafe's, lots of antiquing, breweries, wineries, golf, sailing - the list goes on and on! Once you visit, you'll be hooked. This is a place you'll want to come back to year after year. We look forward to hosting you!
*We have opted to offer Damage Insurance at the cost of $55 for your stay in lieu of a refundable security deposit. It will be listed under fees as "Damage Insurance".
*WILDLIFE DISCLAIMER*
Coming to beautiful Northern Michigan includes the possibility of wildlife encounters. We have midges, spiders, mosquitos, occasionally black flies and an assortment of other insects. We spray regularly to keep them at a manageble level but we also don't want to damage the fragile ecosystem here. Note that where there is water, there will be spiders. They are very industrious and can build back a knocked down web within a day!
They are also great for controlling mosquitos and wasps, which we appreciate.
We treasure the wildness of the North and perhaps that is what attracts you.
Consider yourself lucky if you catch a glimpse of any of our other wild neighbors - black bear, wolves, deer, elk, coyote, fox, bobcats, porcupine, skunks, raccoons, eagles, hawks, squirrels, chipmunks and mice as well as a massive variety of birds.
We ask you to consider this before booking one of our cottages or cabins.
The presence of wildlife is part of the experience here and does not warrant a refund.
AMENITIES NOTES: Coin laundry is nearby, not on site.
- "This was our second time staying here and we love it. Mitigwa is a Native American word meaning "Maker of Men". This adorable little 1 bedroom cabin at 280 sq ft is a favorite among couples or those looking to share an intimate getaway.

Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.
All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.

- "The cabin was as advertised. Very cute old-style cabin. Windows were kept open due to the wonderful breeze blowing off from the lake. We would spend time on the porch when the sun came up and, in the afternoon, would sit out by the lake and watch the people going around on their boats. It was very quiet and relaxing. We would definitely stay again!!!" - "Quite small, but just fine for me, my husband and dog. Right on lake." - "We love coming here every winter. It is quiet, cozy, tidy, and simply all we need. Ritchie is great - very welcoming. Clyde's across the road makes a great pizza too!"
