Stay in Wall Lake's newest rental! Slow down and enjoy the peace and serenity of country living. This property gives you a unique mix of lake life and farm life (though there are no farm animals yet). The lot features a 2-acre backyard (with an 1800s barn and room for plenty of activities), a beautiful lake view, and lake access to Wall Lake right on the property. The Rental Space

The rental includes a spacious living room/kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook and enjoy meals. You can enjoy dinner together at the dining room table, which seats four. The coffee table has board games under it that you can enjoy. Forget to bring a book for your trip? The TV stand has books in it for you to read. The TV is connected to streaming with ROKU. It's already signed in to Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, and Disney+. The TV stand has a built-in electric fireplace that you can use for cozy winter nights. There are two bedrooms both with queen beds. One bedroom gives you a view of the lake while the other gives you a view of the woods. The bathroom features a Bluetooth light that you can use to sing along to your favorite songs in the shower. The deck has four Adirondack chairs you can lounge on while enjoying a view of the lake.

The Backyard

The backyard is a wide open space that's great for yard games. We have horseshoe pits with horseshoes. We also have ladder ball, bocce, croquette, and Jarts. You can use our yard games or bring your own to enjoy. The backyard also has a firepit. You can admire the barn in the backyard, but we ask that you don't go inside of it. There was a leak in the roof and the floor needs to be repaired. There is a hot tub, grill, and dining table available on our deck, which your free to use, but that will be a shared space.

The Lake

Wall Lake is 540 acres and the average depth is 15-20 feet. Many of the residents enjoy fishing. We have steps going right into the lake. The lake ground around our frontage is sandy. We have 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, and a paddleboat available for guests to use. In the winter you can ice fish or ice skate once the lake freezes. If you're interested in doing winter activities on the lake, you can check in with us ahead of time and we can let you know if the lake is frozen.

Delton has the most inland lakes out of any other city in Michigan. You could stay for a week and try out a different lake each day. The rental is 15 minutes away from the Yankee Springs recreation Recreation Area. Yankee Springs boasts 30 miles of hiking trails across 5,200 acres. Allegan Event is a great place to take the kids or kids at heart. It's 30 minutes away from the rental and is the largest indoor ropes course in Michigan. Play a round of golf at the Gun Ridge Golf Course just 15 minutes away from the rental. Want to enjoy a night out in a city? You can take your pick! We enjoyed being on the lake with a beach and dock with the rental pontoon boat. The water in Long Lake was so clear and clean - really lovely! Also the yard, deck and fire pit were great for enjoying the outdoors and the lake, the sunset and the stars, swimming and kayaking (We also rented two additional two-person kayaks from the Gun Lake Marina about 20 minutes away transporting them on our car roof racks, because we love to kayak.), and fishing up and down the lake. The house had good hang out space indoors and for dining and food prep. Bottled water always chilled made things easy. Sleeping rooms were as represented and comfortable. Also it was great looking out on the ripening fruit trees in the front lawn. The pears were nearly all gone but various types of apples were abundant and a few peaches were still on the tree. The neighborhood was friendly. We walked the dog up and down the road which provided a decent distance for a people walk or a dog walk. Owners were accessible and responsive. We had a very enjoyable stay!"

Off the living room is a four seasons room which is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning, playing board games, or relaxing and reading in the cool breeze off the lake. The main floor also has a large bedroom with a gorgeous view of the lake. Both a full bathroom with shower/tub and half bath are centrally located on the main level. Upstairs you will find 4 additional bedrooms with new pillow top mattresses and a full bathroom with a tub.

- "We had a great time! Lots of beds and clean bedding for sleeping. The views from the deck were a favorite feature, as well as the water access of course! The dining room table was large and allowed for us to have a puzzle going, and still had space for people to eat! Easy to put a kayak in the water and paddle around. Lots of gorgeous lily pads and really easy for kiddos to catch small blue gills off the dock! The sofa and a recliner had some dirt/stains, so we covered them with blankets. Some of the kitchen utensils and drawers could use a good cleaning or replacing. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time!"

The house features a full kitchen with two refrigerators, two dishwashers, and everything you'll need to prepare a feast. Two well-equipped office spaces allow guests to plug in to monitors, keyboards and computer mice. The large, third-floor loft offers a slumber party for the kids, and a dog run traverses the backyard so Fido can to join in the fun!

About the house:

DOWNSTAIRS: Enter through the den where our comfy leather reclining chairs and sofas double as charging stations for your devices, then head through the fully-equipped kitchen, which has pots, pans, casserole dishes, a slow-cooker, a blender, a waffle maker and more. The attached dining area features ample seating including a large dining table, a smaller table (perfect for jigsaw puzzles) and pair of lounge chairs overlooking the lake.

UNPLUG and UNWIND: This house has no TV but it has decent free wifi so bring any screens you'll need with you.

NOTE: All of the bathrooms are on the second floor so this house is not ideal for people with limited mobility. Keep an eye on small children.

THE DECKS: The back deck features an outdoor dining table, two folding chaise chairs that can be brought to the fire pit, a swinging hammock chair and a gas grill. The fire deck has a fire pit and a pair of inviting Adirondack chairs looking out over the lake. It's a great spot for yoga! A hammock hangs nearby.

THE BOAT DOCK: Sit on the waterside bench, or take one of our kayaks out to the inflatable swim island. Guests who've brought fishing gear have told us they've caught bluegill, crappie and bullhead. Fish off the dock, or from a kayak or paddle board. Three single kayaks and a paddle board will be available from Memorial Day until late September.

NOTE ABOUT SWIMMING: Our lake fills with lily pads and other plants in the summer so swimming close to shore isn't ideal. We've cut a path through the lily pads that leads out to an inflatable swim island in clear water. Take kayaks and inflatable swim rafts out to the island to splash all day. If plants grow too close to our anchored inflatable island (or if birds leave a mess), we have a foam swimming pad that's easy to bring farther out. Just unroll and enjoy. We have four kid-sized life jackets, three adult life jackets (one XL) and a toddler life jacket.

OFFICE: Need to stay connected with the office? We have two work areas where you can plug in to a monitor and keyboard with USB or USB-C hookups. Our private office on the first floor has a laptop stand and sit/stand desk overlooking the front porch. A futon in this room offers another sleeping area (note that the office is on the first floor but the bathrooms are upstairs).

UPSTAIRS: You'll find the foosball table in the common area, a cozy reading nook with a light and a curtain that can close to create a semi-private space, a LEGO nook with lots of LEGOs, a crafting nook filled with craft supplies and a washer/dryer. Note: The floor sofa from the reading nook can migrate up to the loft to sleep another person up there!

BEDROOM 1 features a queen-size bed, a dresser, a lending library (take a book, leave a book), a walk-in closet, a working nook with a desk chair, two computer monitors, a keyboard and a mouse, and a private bathroom with a shower. The twin bed in this room can be great for parents traveling with a child. Don't like this configuration? This twin bed has legs that fold up so it can move to another room or up into the loft.

BEDROOM 2 has two twin beds, a closet, a dresser and a view of the lake. It sits beside a newly renovated bathroom with a tub and shower.

BEDROOM 3 has big windows with glorious views of the lake, a king-size bed, a closet, two dressers and a private bathroom with a big tub and a shower (note: because of the slope of the ceiling in this bathroom, there's no shower curtain so don't worry if things get a little wet!). This room has an entryway/ reading nook with a floor sofa that offers another place to sleep. Or, the floor sofa can migrate up to the loft. This room and bathroom were built separately from the rest of the house so are not connected to the main heating and cooling system. Use the floorboard heaters in the winter. Use the a/c window unit on hot days, or open the windows, turn on the ceiling fan and fall asleep to the sounds of nature!

THE THIRD-FLOOR LOFT is the ultimate kid hideout and retreat that runs the length of the house! (Adults can sleep here too but they'll have to walk down the middle of the room). The spacious loft has lots of light, two twin beds, a small storage unit for clothes and a bean bag chair. Three additional beds/futons can be added -- the twin from bedroom 1, the floor sofa from the second-floor reading nook and the futon from the entryway to bedroom 3 to make a fun slumber party! Kids will find more LEGOs and K'nex to play with.

Located on a quiet on a scenic peninsula that stretches out into the lake. There road has a small campground at the end and has slow speeds, is safe for a walk or bike ride.

- "We just spent a long weekend (Thursday-Sunday) at this amazing house and had the very best time. The teens had a blast on the kayaks and fishing was very fun too (brought our own gear). The indoor basketball court was a hit and the indoor pool, hot tub and sauna area was absolutely perfect! The house had everything plus!! Everything was super clean! Jerry & Meagan were so sweet. They greeted us, gave a quick tour and were happy to respond to any questions we had. Meagan was also very sweet and took our family picture before we left and was overly kind to mail our daughter’s left-behind sweatshirt. This cabin is in a private wooded setting 1/2 mile off the road in the Yankee Springs area of Barry County. It is like stepping back in time. It is off the grid with a 12 volt solar electrical system and clean outhouse. There is a hand pump at the kitchen sink with lovely water. Set in nature with many interesting birds, plants, and wildlife. Across the road is 800 acres of State land with great swimming and kayaking in the Fish Lake wild area and near Gun Lake State Park.

The space
The cabin is best suited for two adults; however, the futon will accommodate up to two small children. It is in its own clearing 50 yards from our house. It overlooks a private valley that includes our garden and fruit trees. A lot of wildlife moves thru this area. We have piliated wood peckers, yellow billed cookoo, indigo bunting, turkey, woodland thrush, and many other birds in our woods.
The cabin has a working kitchen with a modern wood cookstove and an fm radio to enjoy. The cook stove will only be usable in cool or cold weather other wise it would be too warm to use in the cabin. We also have a propane camping stove to heat food and water. There is a hand pump over the kitchen sink. It takes a little effort to operate the handle but most people are very capable of using it. The kitchen has no refrigeration so a cooler is the way to go, and we can provide that if you request one.
The cabin is set up with a very clean outhouse with lighting available from our battery system. There is a solar shower to bath out in nature on a sunny day. We have a wash stand in the cabin with an antique bowl and pitcher for your use, off the grid life.

There are two kayaks are available if you can swim and older than 18. There is a charcoal grill, a fire pit with some free firewood, bag toss, and folding chairs.

Other things to note
This cabin is a unique experience with different technologies than most people are familiar with, because of this there are lengthy written instructions to read or we like to give a brief introduction to off the grid life. This cabin could be in rural Alaska or any other place where you want to live not connected to the power grid. If you will be using the wood cookstove for heat we do want to meet with you and explain its operation. Since the cabin is not connected to the grid you cannot plug in any 110 volt electrical items you may bring with you. There is a small inverter that will charge a laptop or phone.

The Rental Space

The rental includes a spacious living room/kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook and enjoy meals. You can enjoy dinner together at the dining room table, which seats four. The coffee table has board games under it that you can enjoy. Forget to bring a book for your trip? The TV stand has books in it for you to read. The TV is connected to streaming with ROKU. It's already signed in to Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, and Disney+. The TV stand has a built-in electric fireplace that you can use for cozy winter nights. There are two bedrooms both with queen beds. One bedroom gives you a view of the lake while the other gives you a view of the woods. The bathroom features a Bluetooth light that you can use to sing along to your favorite songs in the shower. The deck has four Adirondack chairs you can lounge on while enjoying a view of the lake.

The Backyard

The backyard is a wide open space that's great for yard games. We have horseshoe pits with horseshoes. We also have ladder ball, bocce, croquette, and Jarts. You can use our yard games or bring your own to enjoy. The backyard also has a firepit. You can admire the barn in the backyard, but we ask that you don't go inside of it. There was a leak in the roof and the floor needs to be repaired. There is a hot tub, grill, and dining table available on our deck, which your free to use, but that will be a shared space.

The Lake

Wall Lake is 540 acres and the average depth is 15-20 feet. Many of the residents enjoy fishing. We have steps going right into the lake. The lake ground around our frontage is sandy. We have 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, and a paddleboat available for guests to use. In the winter you can ice fish or ice skate once the lake freezes. If you're interested in doing winter activities on the lake, you can check in with us ahead of time and we can let you know if the lake is frozen.

Things To Do Nearby

Delton has the most inland lakes out of any other city in Michigan. You could stay for a week and try out a different lake each day. The rental is 15 minutes away from the Yankee Springs recreation Recreation Area. Yankee Springs boasts 30 miles of hiking trails across 5,200 acres. Allegan Event is a great place to take the kids or kids at heart. It's 30 minutes away from the rental and is the largest indoor ropes course in Michigan. Play a round of golf at the Gun Ridge Golf Course just 15 minutes away from the rental. Want to enjoy a night out in a city? You can take your pick! The rental is 30 minutes from Kalamazoo, 45 minutes from Grand Rapids, and an hour from Saugatuck. Visiting in the winter? You can cross-country ski at Yankee Springs. You can also ski or snowboard at Bittersweet Ski Resort, which is 30 minutes away from the rental.

The guest space is entirely private. You have your own entrance and the entire second floor of the building is yours. The part of the first floor that you won't be able to access contains the garage and utilities, which we do use for storage. Everything else you're welcome to use around the yard and on the lake. The hot tub and grill are located on our deck and you're free to use them, but that would be a shared space between us.

While our house is not directly on the water our guest's will have Lake access to two lakes Big Guernsey and Little Guernsey. Getting to the lake is a short 10 min walk or a 5 min car ride. We have a private dock where the kayaks and canoe will be located. We also have a private swimming area just left of our dock, which makes it easier to get in and out of the kayaks. After spending the day on the lake you can hangout by the designated swimming area have lunch and soak up the sun. Most of our guests have brought their own tubes or rafts to float on.

You may bring your own boat, but first must be pre-approved by owner.
It is a private lake, so all boats will have to be pre-washed before putting in the lake to prevent the transferring any aquatic species such as zebra muscle.

Once approved, you will have to set up a time where the owner will unlock the gate to put your boat on the water and again to take it out.

The space
This cottage is a two level house. Two bedrooms and one full bath with amazing lake views in every room. It sleeps 7 people comfortably, a king bed in the Primary and a Queen bed and Twin Bunk with Trundle in the second bedroom.

Kitchen has everything you need to cook and eat your favorite meals! Living room is spacious with comfortable seating for everyone to enjoy the space! There is also free wifi, Smart TV/ Roku equipped tvs to stream your favorite shows and many board games for everyone to enjoy.

Two kayaks and a paddle boat are provided for you to explore every inch of Long Lake. Appropriate safety wear (i.e. life jackets) should be used when enjoying the watercraft. Children should be supervised at all times.

While firewood is provided, we only provide a bundle for the indoor fireplace but you're welcome to purchase more from local suppliers or bring in some wood from home.

Long Lake is located very close to the towns of Hastings and Delton, making grocery and supply runs convenient for you. Hastings offers a charming downtown with shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, breweries and a number of events for all seasons. There are also several golf courses, parks, and local attractions such as the Gilmore Car Museum to explore. Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids are approximately 45 minutes away.

Looking for a beautiful getaway in Southwest Michigan? Come relax and play on the beautiful 750 Acre All-Sports Upper Crooked Lake in Delton, MI. Upper Crooked Lake is known for excellent fishing and abundant wildlife. Play all day in the lake and then enjoy the sunsets from the upper deck, lower deck, or landing at the end of the dock. When the sun goes down, relax and unwind by the lakeside campfire.

Step inside and you will find a cozy nautical themed getaway. Take in scenic lake views from the kitchen, dining and living room through sliding glass doors overlooking the lake. The kitchen has all stainless steel appliances, and high quality cookware and utensils. The living room has a deep sectional couch with 55” TV and 200+ channel Dish Network. Attached to the living room is a dining area with kitchen table overlooking the lake. (IKEA Children's dining table/chairs for little ones).

Bedroom 1 is larger with queen bed, changing table, dresser, and walk in closet. We have an extra twin mattress that can be placed on the floor if needed.
Bedroom 2 has a twin daybed and trundle twin bed, and dresser. A Jack n' Jill style Full bathroom is attached to both bedrooms equipped with tub and shower. Bedroom 3 is located downstairs at walkout level. This room has a queen bed, oversized chair that pulls out to single bed. night stands, and full bathroom attached. A 3 seasons room is located off the 3rd bedroom and leads out to the lower deck. During the summer this room is a great place to sit lakeside and take in a summer rainstorm. During the winter months our patio table is in this room for those ice fishing to come out from the cold.

Outside the upper deck wraps around the house with 3 burner Weber Grill, counterheight dining table with Swivel rocker chairs, and kids picnic table, a great place to take in the sunset over dinner. The lower deck has wicker swivel rocker chairs, loveseat, coffee and end tables and a 12 foot cantilever umbrella. This is a perfect place to relax in the shade, enjoy a lakeside dinner, or unwind at the end of the night. The yard is large enough for kids to run around, play bean bag toss, or lounge in the adirondack chairs. The dock has wide stairs to enter the lake into knee deep water or a ladder at the end on the 10'x12' platform. The lake has a hard sandy bottom which is great for swimming and playing in the water right out in front of the house. There are stairs to enter the water off the dock near the shore and a ladder at then end of the dock. End the night with a bonfire and s'mores in the lake side firepit.

The cottage features three comfortable bedrooms, one on main floor, two additional single beds in loft area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living space that includes large windows that showcase the picturesque lake. Two full bathrooms on the main floor and half bath upstairs.

The space
The cottage includes a spacious living room/dining area. The galley kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook and enjoy meals (no dishwasher). The tv is connect to streaming with ROKU. The main floor includes a washer/dryer, full bathroom with stand up shower and a master bedroom with king size bed and full bathroom. Upstairs you will find two small bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other a double bed. There is a sitting area that includes two small twin beds and a half bathroom.

The deck has Adirondack chairs, a picnic table and table seating perfect for enjoying morning coffee, outside eating and playing games with a perfect view of the lake and evening sunsets.

A private dock, sandy beach, some lake floating accessories included. Kayaks may be available on request. Tennis/Pickle ball court available upon request.
