I had to call hotels.com several times on the day of travel because I was on a train and therefore the calls kept dropping, but the staff at hotels.com clearly didn't know that the check-in procedure here was peculiar. They kept assuring me I could do things like take care of the deposit when I got there. Which I couldn't have, since no one was there. It all worked out, and I'll know for next time, but be forewarned. "

- "Live mice in upstairs bedroom and in kitchen cabinet. Soiled blankets and sofa. Dishwasher had standing water and smelled horrible as did the entire first floor. Did not feel comfortable using anything in kitchen due to mouse droppings and other sanitary issues. The first night we saw a mouse upstairs and contacted the host, the response was “is it still there?” No empathy, no apologies. It was a poor night of sleep for the entire family as we worried. The next morning, a mouse dropped from a kitchen cabinet onto the counter. We contacted the host asking if something could be done while we were out for the day. The response was that there were traps outside and claimed to have monthly service, but obviously wasn’t working. It was obvious that nothing would be done by the host. Then when my son showed a rash all over his bottom and midsection from sleeping on the couch. It was awful. We could not stay any longer and risk further illness. After a long day out, we packed everything and left to find a clean hotel at our added expense. We asked for a refund of some of our costs to which we did not receive a response. Then we worked through Hotels.com to try and contact the host to receive some compensation. After 72 hours of Hotels.com working with the property management, they could not get any funds back. Hotels.com customer service was good to work with, but ultimately did not have the sort of sanitary or comfort guarantee one would expect from a large company. "

A clean, quiet & spacious private room with brand new individual heating and cooling on the 1st floor of a historic house. It was converted from a sun-room with 4 windows insulated & sealed and 2 others curtained. Kitchen, bathroom, dinning room & living room are shared.

3-mins walk to bus stop, 3-mins drive to UMSL & (10-mins walk to) grocery store, 5-mins to MetroLink stop & Express Script, 8-mins to airport & Boeing, 13-mins to Wash U & Clayton, 16 mins to Forest Park, 19-mins to downtown.

The space
Spacious and comfortable room on the 1st floor in a big historic house. This used to be a sun-room. It's not part of the main house. So in winter, you may still feel cold depite the space heater. Therefore, if you prefer a warm room, do NOT book this room in winter.

Guest access
Guests enter the house from the front door to access their private room. The living room, dinning room, kitchen and one bathroom on the 2nd floor are shared.

Guests can park at any spot on the north side of the street (except by the fire hydrant), best by the house but if taken, even 3 or 4 houses down the road is fine. Make sure to lock all your windows and car to enhance security.

Do not use the back door. Do not go to the back yard as it's private and off limits. Do not park on the driveway without permission. Park on driveway for loading or unloading purposes only and for a maximum of 20 minutes each time.

You'll love my place because of completely renovated kitchen and bathroom, and friendly people. Also, parking is steet parking with plenty of spaces. My place is good for student, solo adventurers and business travelers.

This room is located in basement. There will be a door next to stairs. Go downstairs, you will see your room door on your right side. water/ice machine is located in the main kitchen refrig. The door in the stairs is to trash out to alley only. Use the main entrance for in and out.

I love this place for its central location right in the heart of the Grove entertainment district, yet in a quiet street to enjoy a peaceful rest. Walkable to many restaurants, bars and nightlife. Quick access to BJC, SLU, CWE, Wash U, Forest Park, Botanical Garden, downtown, I-64 & I-44. There are two other bedrooms in this apt to share the 1 bathroom & common spaces. The closest Metrolink station is Cortex, about 15 minutes walk from the Airbnb. There are also buses running along the Tower Grove Ave, taking you north to the Central West End metro station /BJC hospital in 5 minutes, or south to the Botanical Garden, one of the top attractions in St. Louis.

I have a 90-lb hound dog that loooves people and is able to roam freely if he wishes, sometimes even when I am not home. If you love dogs, you'll love him, and he'll love you right on back!
