The old Bruton drug store built in the late 1800's, was in need of alot of renovation when it was purchased in 2012 from the Bruton family. The now" Market House Cafe" unfortunately is closed and is now a venue for private dinners and gatherings is in the downstairs space, and, upstairs, the place where Dr Bruton once performed surgery, is now 2 beautiful lofts.

The Southwest Place is a duplex. Please only park on the left side in front of the garage. The other side is a Airbnb also so there will be guests utilizing that side as well. There is a one car garage that is available if you need to park your car or motorcycle. If you need more outside parking just let me know and we can work something out. All the furniture is new or nearly new. The first thing you'll notice in the living room is the new 50" smart TV and open floor plan. As you walk into the bedrooms you will see solid oak dressers a chair in the corner and extra pillows and a blanket in the closet. There is one queen size bed in each bedroom and a hide-a-bed sofa in the living room. There are dispensers in the showers with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. All the soaps are natural and hypoallergenic an are custom made by The Springfield Soap Refill Station. There are fresh bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths for your use in each bathroom and extras in the hall closet.

You can access the whole apartment, patio and south side of the yard. Since its a duplex, please only utilize your side of the yard in front and back. There is room in the driveway for two vehicles. Please be respectful of the guests next doors space.

I don't live on the property but am always available for questions, suggestions or any information about the area, etc....

The neighborhood is quiet and family oriented. Therefore it is not appropriate for loud parties or events. Feel free to walk or drive around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Located just 3 blocks from downtown Springfield, less than a mile from MSU and less than 2 miles to Bass Pro and Wonders of Wildlife -we are close to everything. Included is off street parking in the attached parking lot.

You will be staying in the original 1897 house. 2 other smaller apartments were built on over the years. There is a large parking lot attached to my property so if you need to park something big that can be arranged. Additionally there is fenced in back yard and BBQ Grill.

Guests have access to all of apartment 1, the parking lot, front and back yards and the laundry room facilities.

No contact check-in is available as Guests can enter the apartment with their door code. If you need anything I am always available via call or text and I live in apartment 2, around the corner.

The location is an easy walk to downtown where you can find just about any kind of food, shopping, a coffee shop or neighborhood bar.

Getting around is easy. If you are driving there is lots of off street parking. Public buses and Uber or Lyft are always close by.

There is a queen size bed in the bed room and a queen size mattress and box springs in the living room closet that can be used for an extra bed. There are also sheets, pillows, a comforter, blanket and extra towels in the living room closet.

- "The second floor loft was comfortable and interesting in a good way. Lots of people watching from the tall windows and still felt private. The beds were comfortable and being a light sleeper, I came prepared with earplugs but I could see how the sound machine could have been useful. Glad they seemed to think things through well for all types of people. This would be a great spot for multi family, couples or any 2-4 group. There’s plenty of space. We absolutely loved the Mexican restaurant down the street, La Paraiso! Brewco beer was good too! There’s plenty of food options downtown. We liked the central location and even adventured out with our bicycles to the greenway trails that aren’t too far. Bass Pro was insanely huge, but fascinating people watching. Route 66 history is interesting but we didn’t have time for that this round. Maybe next time. Great communication from the management about questions we had."

The Neighborhood:
Our cottage is located in a quiet cul-de-sac 8 minutes south of Cox Hospital and 13 minutes from Mercy Hospital. There is easy access to Highway 160 and the James River Expressway. The neighborhood itself is peaceful and quiet and you’ll feel safe enough to stay in the cottage on your own. There are also many local attractions nearby like the Wilson Creek Civil War Battlefield and the Wonders of Wildlife Museum.

Getting Around:
We highly recommend bringing or renting a car for the utmost convenience. However, bus, taxi, and ride-sharing services are also available. The area is pedestrian-friendly as well and riding bikes is also a great way to travel short distances.

When we say riverside, we literally mean RIGHT ON THE RIVER. Custom built private cabin. Bathroom features a large shower with multiple shower heads. The cabin is a perfect get away for 2, yet will comfortably sleep a famly of 4. Plenty entertainment close by, food delivery right to the door, steps away from complete seclusion. We're also very family friendly as kids will LOVE the outdoors, hiking and river right outside the door, plus bass pro and the aquarium is a 10 minute drive right up Campbell avenue!

Didn't think there were enough kitchen plates, bowls, silverware, etc. if there were going to be 8 people staying. The front deck looking over the river was large and had a hammock, 2 rockers and a patio table with chairs. It was very nice. Spent a lot of time on the deck. There was also a nice walking path between the cabin and the river! Had a great time!"

My place is close to Mercy Hospital, Cox Hospital, Medical Mile, Surgery Center, Cancer Center, Downtown, Missouri State University. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the comfy bed, the kitchen, and the outdoors space. The space
The Space

Each room is very comfortable and has a very comfortable memory foam bed. There are three bathrooms in the house. One is dedicated to the Master Bedroom. The other two bathrooms are shared between three bedrooms. One bathroom is a bathtub/shower combo, the other is walk in shower only. The entire home was remodeled in summer 2017. There are security cameras in use watching the entrances to the home both inside and out for your safety. Access to Alexa for music and entertainment and a Smart TV.

You will have access to all common areas of the home. There is a Keurig in the kitchen for coffee for you to use.

The home is set up primarily for private room rentals. Please keep in mind the other guests work schedules, ie..night shift, mid shift, day shift. Any requests for maintenance can be made via email or text message.

Welcome to the Ozarks Haven Guest Suite! This is a private access room/bathroom in the back of a large house where I live with my two kids and dog. We're a chill crew and tend to keep it pretty quiet around here most of the time, although Saturdays both kids are home and things will be louder.

I'm here to answer any questions you might have, and as a 15-year resident of this city, I'm always happy to share tips on the best spots in Springfield so you can get the most out of your stay.

You'll have a private entrance that opens directly into the guest room. Note: the door does require you to go up two steps and walk on a short stretch of grass from the street to the house, so if this is an issue, this is not the best listing for you.

There is a dedicated bathroom, and both are sectioned off by a divider and gate for your privacy. You can use the kitchen, too, just text first!

During your stay
I come and go a lot for work and errands, but if you would like to meet let me know in advance. We have a dog who will occasionally use the backyard (around 7am, noon, 3, and 7:30) and is friendly, but I always shift the divider in front of the guest room door when I let her out so you won't have to interact if you don't want to!

Other things to note
The door entrance requires walking up two steps, so this is not the best option for those with physical disabilities.
