- "Unfortunately we only had the pleasure of one night stay. However the home was the most unique finds we have come across. I wish we would have time to enjoy a fire I bet the gazebo. It’s peace and quiet paradise. We will keep this in the list of favorites for sure. " - "The Grainery is such a fun find! Very quaint in the middle of farmland. We “chatted” we the cows across the street. Loved the hot tub and fire space. Makes great s’mores. Owners haven’t missed a beat and have thought of everything. We loved the loft but the stairs could be tricky for some. Definitely a must visit if you are passing through. "

- "Overall impression - excellent. The location was between Springfield and Nixa. The cabin will sleep 8 people, but it would be tight. Didn't think there were enough kitchen plates, bowls, silverware, etc. if there were going to be 8 people staying. The front deck looking over the river was large and had a hammock, 2 rockers and a patio table with chairs. It was very nice. Spent a lot of time on the deck. There was also a nice walking path between the cabin and the river! Had a great time!"

If your looking for a quiet retreat away from the crowds and hustle and bustle this is where you should stay." - "It was great!" - "I have stayed three times, for a week each time. It's always clean, cozy, and well kept. It's been the perfect place to come "home" to at night. I usually have one "child" with me (16 or older). We love rustic design and repurposing old things, especially reclaimed wood and rusty tin which you will find throughout this adorable cabin. Located on our 72-acre farm, this unique cabin was built with hand-hewn oak logs and creek stones off the property. While we did not build the original structure, we’ve spent a great deal of time renovating and painstakingly finishing each detail. We cannot wait to share it with you, and we hope you love it as much as we do!
The space
Fun Fact #1: Our cabin, located in Marshfield, MO, is 3 miles from the only place in the country where Route 66 and Route 76 (the TransAmerica Bike Trail) intersect.
Fun fact #2: The shelf above the kitchen counter is from a jail cell that was in the historic Iowa State Penitentiary, Fort Madison, which closed in 2015.
From your window, you may see (or hear) any number of farm animals, including cows, horses, donkeys, chickens, a barn cat (Jack), and an incredibly friendly dog (Toby). Feel free to pet anything that you can walk up to.
Want to help feed the animals hay in the winter? Just let us know, and we can let you know our schedule.
Want to go fishing? Bring a pole and bait, and take a short jaunt down to the pond. Or, walk past the pond to the edge of the property and find a creek where you can catch minnows or crawdads.
IMPORTANT: While we love animals, this cabin is strictly pet-free and smoke-free. Any evidence of a pet or smoking in or around the premises will result in a $150 fee.

CAUTION #1: Our property is located near railroad tracks. You could hear a train whistle during the night. While it hasn’t seemed to bother our guests, feel free to turn on the heating/AC fan to drown out any farm animal or train horn noise. NOTE: A white noise machine is available upon request.
CAUTION #2: Unfortunately, our cabin is not wheelchair accessible. No beds can be accessed without some stairs. Additionally, the stairway and bathroom doorway are smaller than normal (26 inch openings) as they were made to fit the small space.
CAUTION #3: Unfortunately, this cabin is not elderly or young child-friendly. There are steep stairs to get to the top level, uneven stone flooring on the lowest level, and you can see through the slats in the wood flooring from the top level (which may be a problem for those with dizziness issues).
NOTE: Please remember this cabin is on the edge of the woods in Missouri. Therefore, you may see a bug now and again. In the spring and fall, ladybugs come out of hibernation and can be a nuisance in any home in the area.
