- "The host was amazing, it was so clean, peaceful and relaxing. One of our favorite places we have stayed, we will definitely go back! " - "Very clean property and very nice host! The cabin was a very nice tiny home that had everything we needed. It rained a lot and although the porch was small 4 adults were able to spend rainy evenings outside under the covered porch. The loft beds would have been difficult to get in and out of for older adults, but the full size bedroom worked great for our parents and we were able to crawl into one loft, and our son in the other which he loved! I will drive back." - "We had a great week at the cabin. From the moment we checked in, the hosts were helpful and communication was great. It was clean and had everything we needed for our week-long stay. We enjoyed the extra space to relax after a day floating on the river. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials for the many meals we prepared. Bonus points for having hookups on property for the family that joined us, in their RV. - "It was beautiful so quiet and private." - "I stayed at the Tiny House with my husband and our 11 year old. We had such a lovely time. The cabin is small, but all the space it utilized and it had all the amenities you could want! The screened in porch was perfect for hummingbird viewing and sun-drenched breakfasts. We made s’mores in the fire lit and sat on the deck listening to the sounds of the woods. The property was easy to find, which is always a plus down in an area where cell service might be sketchy! We went floating on the Current River, took a road trip to Alley Springs, Peck Conservation Area, Round Spring and Rocky Falls. Eminence is a darling town and we had a great burger at Hogan’s grill and then grabbed ice cream at the Dairy Shack. We will definitely be coming back to this tiny cabin in the woods!"

Prairie Hollow Hideaway is a charming 3-bedroom log cabin located 1 mile from both the Current and Jacks Fork rivers. The cabin is nestled on the edge of Prairie Hollow Creek, an intermittent creek, surrounded by open fields and woodlands. It offers a remote and peaceful experience free from distractions, with 3 bedrooms and a full kitchen. Whether visiting the area to float, sight-see, hike or hunt, this cabin is the perfect relaxing getaway.
At Prairie Hollow Hideaway you can truly “hide away” from the electronic intrusions of the outside world. While there is no television, there is satellite internet service that provides basic WiFi for essential connectivity needs, such as email or WiFi calling. There is also a cell booster that may provide some 4G depending on your cell carrier. It may not work for every carrier or cell phone. (WiFi is provided as an option for essential communications and some basic web browsing, but we don't guarantee that connection speeds will support streaming content and ask that guests do not stream content due to limited plan. We also do not guarantee cell service with the booster since provider coverage and signal strength vary in our area.)
PLEASE NOTE: Price varies by guest count so include all guests for accurate pricing. Also, prior to accepting booking requests, owners require potential guests to reply to a pre-booking message within 24 hours to confirm certain listing details and house rules truly meet your needs. The guest limit is for 6 total staying on the property, regardless of age. A baby is considered as 1 guest. We don't allow camping in the yard as a means to add more guests and exceed the guest limit.
The cabin is fairly secluded from everything else around it, with only brief glimpses of activity that occurs in the area and no other houses in sight. Prairie Hollow Hideaway is the perfect escape, with an excellent location that will allow you to easily enjoy a variety of activities. It is located less than 10 minutes from Eminence, just off paved State Highway V. Your reservation includes full use of the entire cabin, the outdoor fire pit/picnic area, the mowed lawn areas around it, and the intermittent creek in front (kiddos love to explore the creek when it's flowing).
The cabin is two stories, with the second floor reached via sturdy stepladder. We do not recommend use of the upstairs for anyone with joint or mobility issues due to the stepladder, or for babies and toddlers due to the open landing on the second floor. The main floor includes a living room, master bedroom, full bathroom, kitchen, and utility room with refrigerator and washer/dryer. On the second floor, two bedrooms and 1/2 bath will accommodate up to 5 for sleeping. Each bedroom has its own dresser and closet area. We provide linens, towels, soap, toilet paper, hair dryer, dish soap, paper towels, and an initial supply of laundry detergent.
In total, the property has 5 beds, two of which are double beds. Our guest occupancy limit requires that at least one of the double beds be occupied by 2 people when at full occupancy. Couches are for day use only, and we ask that guests do not plan to make use of the couches as beds, because we are unable to wash cushion covers between stays like we do bedding. If your group needs separate beds for every guest in a group of 6, then this may not be the right property for you.
The kitchen includes seating for 6, and has an electric range, small oven, and microwave. It is fully stocked with cookware, dishware, can opener, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. There is plenty of cabinet space for food and storage. We provide napkins, cooking oil, salt and pepper for seasoning, and creamer/sweeteners for your morning coffee. The adjacent utility room provides a full-size refrigerator, washer/dryer (including initial supply of detergent and dryer sheets) and more cabinet space, with iron and small ironing board. A selection of board games and yard games are stored in the utility room cabinet for good old fashioned game time with your group.
The front porch runs the full length of the cabin, overlooking the creek drainage. A porch swing and Adirondack chairs provide comfortable outdoor lounging space where you can enjoy coffee on a cool morning or watch the sun go down. The porch also provides the perfect vantage point from which to observe wildlife like deer, bobcats, turkeys, and a variety of birds.
A fire pit and lawn chairs in the yard are the perfect way to end the day, stargazing or roasting marshmallows. A wooden picnic table sits nearby the fire pit, to make it easy to enjoy your meal outdoors. A cooking rack is installed on the fire pit for campfire cooking. If you bring your own charcoal, a charcoal grill is available for your use as well.
As a convenience, we provide one complimentary 5-gallon bucket size bundle of firewood for your use in our outdoor fire pit, if you should desire to have an evening campfire. However, if you would like more firewood during your stay, you will either need to bring or buy firewood, or possibly purchase additional bundles from us for $5 each. This is the same price as all the local firewood vendors, if you should desire to purchase your additional firewood before you arrive. The area around the fire pit is wooded, so we also allow you to collect any small dead and downed wood for your fire. (Please don't haul big logs from the woods to attempt to burn.)
The property is easily reached by paved state highways. The cabin is situated on the back side of the creek and is reached via gravel driveway and low-water bridge. In the event of heavy rain causing the creek to rise over the low-water bridge to a level that you are uncomfortable crossing, there is an alternate entry through the owner's neighboring driveway.
The cabin is in a quiet valley not far from owner's residence. We have house rules about excessive noise and fireworks so that neighbors are not inconvenienced. We are often nearby if guests have any needs. We will stop by near the start of your stay to ensure everything meets your and our expectations with your reservation and to answer any questions. After that, we will stay out of your way for the remainder of your visit unless issues arise.
Parking is allowed in the area designated for parking, or vehicles may be left parked on the gravel drive. We ask that vehicles not be parked in any other areas of the lawn.
Outdoor security camera monitors the driveway and parking area, primarily as a means to monitor trespassing and unexpected vehicles between reservations.
PRICING INFORMATION: Base rental price is based on occupancy by two people. There is an additional $10 charge per day for each additional individual (regardless of age), for up to 4 additional guests, for a maximum total of $40 per day above the base price for full occupancy. This allows us to keep the price lower for small groups, rather than charging the full occupancy price on every reservation regardless of group size. Please ensure you include all guests in your reservation request to get accurate pricing.
***All potential guests must submit a booking request. We will fairly quickly respond with a message describing listing details that guests often overlook initially, asking you to CONFIRM you are aware of those details and that you AGREE with the house rules prior to acceptance of the booking request. Please watch for that message and respond within 24 hours or we'll be unable to accept your reservation request.***
***From December thru March: We will consider one-night rentals for up to 2 guests sleeping in the Master Bedroom and using the main floor only, for our regular nightly price. We will also consider one-night rentals for up to 6 guests, but those will be charged a $25 cleaning fee on top of the additional guest fees.***
- "a good time enjoy by all" - "We loved the location & the cabin. Highly recommend!" - "Prairie Hollow has been the perfect location to stay for our annual Current River kayaking trip. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We had everything we needed there for cooking meals. Dena and Stan have been great hosts during each of our stays. This year was our 3rd time staying at Prairie Hollow. Two Rivers outfitters are literally down the road from the cabin which makes this cabin one of the most convenient places to stay to get on the river quickly."

- "We enjoyed it very much the cabin was very clean close to town and had amazing views would 100% recommend to anyone and we plan to return again during the summer" - "We very much enjoyed our stay. The floors could use more attention in cleaning, particularly the rugs in the bathroom. All in all it was a very nice place." - "My husband and I agree that this was one of our favorite rental experiences. Everything was even better than described in the listing. The location was (almost) perfect for us; the only thing that could have made it better would have been if Dollar General turned their lights off at night so we could have had an even better view of the night sky for star gazing. With that said, we still had an amazing view from the back of the property & laid outside on our sleeping back and saw some falling stars. The fenced in front & side yard was perfect for our dog to run and play. We really appreciated being able to let them off leash in a secured area! The wrap around porch even had extra gates which helped further contain the pups. Speaking of the porch, it was well-appointed, with lots of chairs to choose from. We enjoyed sitting outside in the mornings with our coffee & breathing on fresh air while watching the birds flit around. The back yard was awesome too. There was a gazebo with another table & chairs, as well as a fire pit. If you go down the hill, there were a couple of swings hanging from the tree (down by the creek) near a convenient picnic table. (Just be cautious of the acorns on the ground when you’re walking down the hill.) The inside of the house felt much bigger than 900 sq. feet. It was clean and very well-appointed. We enjoyed the extras, like the Keurig, s’mores basket & supplies to wash and dry our laundry (a lot of places we’ve stayed don’t provide the laundry items, so we really appreciated that)! Also, there’s lots of board & card games in the closet…and they even have outdoor games in the basement (ping pong playing material & croquet). It was very convenient to be located across the road from Dollar General; they had a good amount of extras, including some fresh produce. Plus the owner mentioned in advance that some renters have told them that their GPS takes them to the wrong location, so we just plugged the address for the Eminence Dollar General into our gps & had no issues. The main bed was very comfortable & there are lots of extra blankets if you need them. We didn’t use the bunk beds, so I can’t speak to their comfort. You can get to almost any of the beautiful local nature sites within about 20-30 minutes drive, which was awesome. There are also some cute shops in downtown Eminence. Overall, we had a wonderful experience & hope to visit againsoon!!"

- "Great place! I have already recommended it to others and the owner was very nice and quick to respond to me with any questions or concerns." - "Great little cabin with everything you need in a quiet wooded setting. Ron(the property owner) is just a phone call away if he is not already somwhere on the property working. We had a problem with the refrigerator which was beyond anyones control. I gave Ron a call on Sunday afternoon and he came right up to look at it and had a new fridge the next day. Super good guy. Great place to stay."

- "This beautiful lodge-like home was so much better than advertised. The outside is great with a huge deck on two sides, covered parking, and a fire pit. The inside has all been recently redone. The owners met us and showed us around, answering any questions. She was concerned we didn’t have enough outdoor chairs, but we did. The next day she brought over several more brand new chairs just to make sure. They really were all about being good hosts. I would highly recommend this rental. "

Prairie Hollow Hideaway is a charming log cabin located approximately 1 mile from both the Current and Jacks Fork rivers.
The space
At Prairie Hollow Hideaway you can truly “hide away” from the electronic intrusions of the outside world. While there is no television, there is satellite internet service that provides basic WiFi for essential connectivity needs, such as email or WiFi calling, for a limited number of devices. There is also a cell booster that may provide some 4G depending on your cell carrier. It may not work for every carrier or cell phone. (WiFi is provided as an option for essential communications and some basic web browsing for 1-2 devices, but we don't guarantee that connection speeds will support streaming videos and music, and ask that guests be respectful of the limited data by not streaming or video gaming.
Your reservation includes full use of the entire cabin, the outdoor fire pit/picnic area, the mowed lawn areas around it, and the intermittent creek in front (kiddos love to explore the creek when it's flowing, but it does dry up during the summer months).
Our guest occupancy limit of 6 requires that at least one of the double beds be occupied by 2 people when at full occupancy.
The front porch runs the full length of the cabin, overlooking the creek bed.
We ask that vehicles not be parked or driven in any other areas of the lawn.
Our guest limit is 6 staying on the property, regardless of age. Babies are counted in that limit.
***From December thru February: We will consider one-night rentals for up to 2 guests sleeping in the Master Bedroom and using the main floor only, for our regular nightly price. We will also consider one-night rentals for up to 6 guests, but those will be charged a $25-50 cleaning fee on top of the additional guest fees.***
Guest access
Your reservation includes full use of the entire cabin, the outdoor fire pit/picnic area, the mowed lawn areas around it, and the intermittent creek in front (kiddos love to explore the creek when it's flowing).
Other things to note
The cabin is an ideal "unplugged" getaway, and most guests spend their time enjoying the outdoors or exploring the local area. However, if you want the option to enjoy some electronic entertainment when you are kicking back at the cabin, we recommend you pack things like a bluetooth speaker for music, portable DVD players for the kiddos, portable game devices, or a tablet/laptop with downloaded content to watch. There is basic WiFi internet service available as an option for essential communication for 1-2 devices, which may not provide speeds that support much streaming content. We do ask that guests not stream content due to the data limitations on the WiFi which could impact the ability of others to have WiFi for communication and safety needs. We recommend enabling your cell phone for WiFi calling, as an option if the cell booster doesn't work with your cell phone.
The cabin is 2 stories with the upstairs being accessed by a sturdy stepladder. Anyone with mobility issues may find it challenging to climb the ladder. We also don't recommend the upstairs for babies or toddlers due to the open stepladder access.

NO SOLICITING of Sex Trafficking/ Prostitution:
*Did you know that most people in prostitution are actually victims of human trafficking or people with vulnerabilities that have been taken advantage of? *Traffickers don’t advertise their victims as “victims” and most often they are manipulated or forced to appear as though they are choosing this line of work. The same can be said for pornography, strip clubs, escort services, etc. Therefore, it’s difficult for consumers of any form of commercial sex to know who is being victimized and who is there willingly.
*This is my personal area of expertise and it won’t be tolerated on my property. If I am alerted to any red flags, law enforcement will be dispatched. Soliciting prostitution can be raised to the level of human trafficking in both Missouri and Federal courts with penalties beyond 20 years in state or federal prison.

*We are a family oriented cabin on a quiet road. We are mainly renting to families and friends who want to gather and catch up with one another. We do not want to host people that are looking to "party." Ten people are the maximum amount that will be approved. Please do not invite large numbers of people over as well. Remember, ten is the maximum we are looking to open our cabin to during this time. Thank you!*
The 1st level has a large kitchen/living area with large patio overlooking the Ozarks. A man cave and full bath is included on this level as well. It is a GREAT hang out spot!
The 2nd level has 2 separate bedrooms (king & queen), full bath, and a large living area with kitchen that has double doors to the large balcony. The view from the balcony is beautiful! You will see a shimmering lake far off and rolls of trees in the mountains. Spectacular!

Our cabin has been remodeled with new vinyl wood floors, tile, bathroom remodels, lights, and many other upgrades. All beds have new linens, mattresses, and pillows. All of our furniture has recently been purchased new in January 2022. We have put a lot of work and effort into our cabin. We keep it extremely clean and organized.
