There was a gap underneath the front door that allowed bugs to crawl in, one in which was a scorpion that freaked the kids out. It appeared that there were people that were not staying at the place, we're parked outside our bedroom windows within a few feet, in and out of vehicles. On actual Labor Day morning there was construction and nail guns going all morning. So.... So much for sleeping in on a holiday. Definitely not worth the couple hundred bucks for a night. The kids wanted a new place, felt uncomfortable, but I made em bite the bullet for a night."

The Country Haven Lodge is a great choice for those looking for a quiet more private place to vacation. If your get-a-way means getting away from the crowds and getting back to nature and yourself, come stay and enjoy the comfortable, quiet surroundings! The lodge is next door to our home but still quiet as we don't bother you. We are only about 30 minutes from the lake and all of it's offerings. Ha Ha Tonka State Park is about 15 minutes away as well as many other attractions. Enjoy the busy things in the area then come back to the quite to grill your supper or just sit and look out at the Ozark hills and relax.
We have a 15X30 above ground pool, open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, for our guests enjoyment! (Approx. 4' deep throughout.) It's 12X20 deck is connected to the back porch for privacy and convenience. So, swim or sunbathe and enjoy the beautiful view while relaxing with loved ones!
The lodge is set on our working farm that has cattle and chickens. You might get to see some cows and baby calves and hear a rooster crow!

The neighborhood is very quiet. Most of the occupied cottages are owned by our family and we often stay in neighboring cabins. Permanent residences nearby with amenities being renovated for next summer. Occasional passerby walking a dog or out for a leisurely stroll.

There is a local marina nearby with food, docks, launching ramp and boat rental. Taxi Service + Uber are in the area for hire.

Other Things to Note:
This property is owned by two loving families that call the cabin home on occasion. Please take care of it as if it were your own.

James River Cabin offers a secluded escape from every day stresses while still providing all of the luxuries and comforts of home. This uniquely rustic yet child-friendly cabin provides all of the amenities that you could ask for, including a fully stocked kitchen, sleeping accommodations for 6 adults, two full bathrooms, king bed in master bedroom, queen sleeper sofa in living room, twin bunk beds, washer and dryer, wood burning fire place, outdoor fire pit and dining, three furnished outdoor living areas, HOT TUB, and satellite and roku TV. The cabin has every amenity you could need - it is clean, comfortable and very charming. The hot tub on rainy days was really nice. The lake was fabulous! Gorgeous and secluded. Kayaks, paddle boat and a small fishing boat were all provided. We were in or on the water every day and the fishing was unbelievable. The wildlife was abundant - squirrels, chipmunks, turtles, frogs, snakes (only 1), birds, and deer. Town is close and convenient if you need it. The hosts were easy to talk to and extremely helpful. They left a s’mores package and some candy for the kids. I highly recommend this property for anyone needing a visit to the lake!"
