Can also wade and fish just off the bank below the cabin, but bring your waders because the water is COLD. This is the part of the river frequented by fishing guides due to the excellent fishing. As an added bonus, Branson, MO and Eureka Springs, AR is only an hour's drive from the cabins. Please note that we are located on a gravel road a half mile off of Hwy 7. Once you arrive at Heather Hill Cabins, the driveway is gravel (9% grade). The last driveway to this cabin is paved at a 13% grade. Gravel can be bumpy at times however 4 wheel drive is not necessary.

Conveniently located less than 2 miles (5 minutes) from the river, this 7-acre property joins the Buffalo National River Park land. Small, but cozy, our tiny house tucked in the woods offers the amenities you want on your Natural State adventure. The cabin is ideal for two people, but can accommodate three. The upstairs loft bedroom features a Sleep Number queen bed so you can get a great night of rest after your day on the river. The couch in the living area folds out for additional sleeping space.

Relax and enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks on the front porch in a rocking chair or on the back deck. We like to spend as much time outside as we can at the cabin, so there is a fire pit, patio set, charcoal grill and outdoor games for guests to enjoy. Deer and other wildlife can often be spotted from the cabin. And don't forget to check out the stars at night! The park was recently designated an International Dark Sky Park for its superb opportunities for star gazing.

The Buffalo Bender kitchen is stocked with a refrigerator, microwave, drip coffee maker, stove/oven, toaster, crock pot, pots and pans, plates, cups, utensils, and basic spices and condiments. Additional items provided include wifi, hair dryer, TV with DVD player and movies, board games, outdoor games, grill with charcoal, bath and beach towels, fan, cooler for use on the river, firewood, and bedding. It's all the fun of camping in the great outdoors without packing the gear!

The cabin is pet-friendly to well-behaved, housebroken dogs with a pet fee of $50. For their safety, we ask that you do not leave pets unattended outside. Please let us know if you plan on bringing your furry friend along so we can put out dog supplies for your visit. If you have pet allergies, our cabin may not be a good fit for you.

The cabin located less than half a mile down a dirt road. The road is easily passable by vehicles with normal clearance.

The Buffalo River is one of America's few free-flowing rivers and features excellent floating, hiking, bluffs, waterfalls, and wildlife. It's an outdoor lover's dream! You can easily rent canoes, kayaks, and rafts at the river concessionaires located half a mile from the cabin. We love to float and hike, so feel free to ask us for recommendations.

Seriously-this home helped create the best memories and was clearly designed for a break from the busy hubbub and is ideal for family bonding. Even though the youngest age was 16 in our group, this home is good for all ages, with handicap accessible features throughout and games and dvds for all ages. Very fun loft area with a full bed and sofa sleeper. Thoughtful/artistic decor and design. Grilling/eating under the pavilion, sipping early morning coffee on the porch, hiking from the property, close access to kayaking, watching the stars and making s’mores (thank you for the kit) around the fire pit, falling asleep to the clear sky from the loft windows, hearing nothing but the rustle of leaves and wildlife-this place is perfect. The hosts could not have done a better job with communication and setting the home up for fun and functionality-even with a recycling bin, washer/dryer, racks for our shoes so we didn’t track in the wilderness-they thought of everything. Please don’t rent this VRBO if you are the kind of person who doesn’t put your grocery cart up-it is far too exceptional to be disrespected and the owners are fantastic people. Just 1 mile from trout fishing, kayaking, walking trail or cycling. The cabin is 3 miles from a small town with shopping and gas or 5 miles to a larger town with Walmart, Harps, Casey's, and many great restaurants and shopping. We are also located between 2 lakes within a 15 minute drive. Fisherman can take advantage of the many species of fish available, including large and small mouth bass, walleye, crappie, catfish, trout and more. Bass fishing in Arkansas is a year-round activity, and can lead to catching nine different species, including quite heavy stripers. Scuba diving and spear fishing are popular due to the water clarity, and the huge fish found in the deeper waters.
