The Goddard Place is located 5 miles East of Anna off of Route 146. We only have one cabin. It is close to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the Southern Illinois Wine Trail and the Shawnee National Forest. Your cabin features a living area with a sleeper sofa (for the young ones in the family), a recliner, a 32' flat screen television with DirecTV and a DVD player. The kitchenette includes a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, glassware and silverware. The queen sleigh bed, jacuzzi tub and lavatory complete the room. There is a shower and plenty of towels are provided. All you need to bring is your provisions!!

Conveniently located on the western edge of the Shawnee Wine Trail, our cabin is close to the many activities, wineries, breweries or restaurants the region has to offer. Enjoy the orchard blooms in the spring and in summer and fall, the bountiful harvest is available at the orchard stores. Our cabin offers the perfect accommodations for a family reunion, pre-wedding event, wedding weekend or a quite, relaxing getaway with friends.

Beautiful artisan crafted wood features and furniture made from reclaimed wood throughout make the cabin unique. The comfort of our guests is foremost in our minds. The cabin is multi level with two large covered decks overlooking Cave Creek so you can enjoy relaxing outdoors even on a rainy day. A spacious 1500 sq ft, the cabin can sleep up to 8 guests, has a full kitchen stocked with cookware and dinnerware. The kitchen, dining area for 8, and living area with gas fireplace, recliner and HD-TV are located on the entry level. The upper level of the cabins feature a great room with trestle style dining table that seats 8 comfortably. The ample living area has a gas fireplace, recliner, sofa and HD-TV. Our full kitchen, with full size appliances, has beautiful wood countertops and seating for 4 at the island. Large supply of cookware, dinnerware for 8, coffeemaker and toaster provided. One bedroom and a full bath are also located on this level. The upper deck features a great overlook of Cave Creek for you to enjoy from the drink rail while you rest on our comfortable seating.

The lower level has a relaxed seating area with sleeper sofa, TV and DVD player. A game table and board games are provided. Second bedroom and full bath are located on this level, plus the utility room. We also offer satellite TV with separate controllers for each TV. This cabin is perfect for two couples or a family getaway. The deck on this level also offers a good view of the creek for your enjoyment.

Luxurious bed linens and bath towels provided. Soaps, shampoos, paper products and some cleaning supplies are also provided. We also provide an outdoor charcoal grill. And we have a fire pit available for our guest's enjoyment.

We have a dusk to dawn security light illuminating the parking area and cabin entries. Enjoy the fire pit and grilling are on the creek side of the cabin. Take a stroll on the quite country lane, relax around a crackling fire or take a comfortable seat on the covered deck and enjoy the relaxing sounds of the trickling creek.

Less than a mile north of Alto Pass, Mark's Lane is between Alto Vineyards and Rendleman's Orchard Store. It's a very short drive to Bald Knob Cross, Cedar Lake, Little Grand Canyon, Pomona Natural Bridge or Trail of Tears state park. The hiking is great. Try the lesser used trail skirting beautiful Cedar Lake, one of the best fishing lakes in the region.

Alto Pass was in the prime viewing area for the 2017 Eclipse and will be again in April 2024. The Shawnee will again have the longest viewing time for the full eclipse. We have so much to offer visitors in the Shawnee Region. Nature lovers have an abundance of trails to choose from, several of them geared for the occasional hiker or children. There are excellent rock climbing locations for the more adventurous visitors. We have one of the best zip lines in the United States. Our region offers great biking trails. There are lavender farms, strawberry and blueberry patches, and a bison ranch. They start picking peaches in June. Apples and other farm fresh produce are available at the farm stores. Don't miss the orchards in springtime bloom. Watch for festivals and music every weekend at the wineries. Don't miss the food and wine pairing weekends. Yum! And before we know it, the beautiful fall colors will be here. There is something for everyone to enjoy in Southern Illinois. Have a busy day and then come back to a relaxing retreat at Cave Creek!
