- "What a unique gem of a cabin! Quite charming and clearly lovingly restored. It was absolutely perfect for an overnight stop. The bed was very comfortable and covered in a beautiful antique quilt! I loved the beautiful stained glass windows also. This is definitely one-of-kind B&B!! I recommend this tiny bunkhouse to anyone who wants a special weekend get- away from a busy tech filled week. And the cinnamon coffee cake was a delicious surprise!! I hope to stay again when I travel this way."

The space
Our unique place is a real, historic log cabin that we relocated from near Lima, Illinois (20 minutes north of Quincy) and have fully restored on our property for guests to enjoy. Reclaimed building materials from over 10 different local barns, houses and structures were used during the restoration process and each contains a fun story about their history or how they were obtained. The result, after 8 years of labor, patience and love, is Audrey's Abode.
Guest access
As our guest, you will have access to the entire cabin. This includes both bedroom spaces - a master bedroom (The Barn Room) on the main floor and a large bedroom space upstairs (The Loft). Plus, full access to our fully furnished kitchen which includes a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove with an oven, microwave, coffee maker and washer and dryer. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cookie sheets, plates, glasses, coffee cups and more in case you decide you'd like to bring your own food and prepare a meal. Need some fresh air? The front porch is a wonderful place to sit and read a book and listen to the sounds of nearby nature.
Other things to note
Our neighbors on both sides have small ponds. These are unfortunately off limits to our guest, but since they are in the area, we want to make you aware, especially guests who are traveling with children. Fences and shrubbery separate our property from our neighbors and you will probably not even know the ponds are near by.
- "If you’re looking for a peaceful place to rest and recharge, look no further! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Audrey’s Abode! The cabin had everything we needed. The property is quiet and relaxing. We woke up Sunday morning to a beautiful buck right outside the kitchen window. If I could live there, I totally would to get away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday! The town of Jacksonville has everything you want. We did a college tour with our son while we were here and found it to be a very inviting campus and small town. Our hosts were great with communication and has everything perfectly ready for us! "
