The Loft is the upper story of a house with my shop below. The loft has a large deck which has a grill, hammock, outdoor table for 4, two lounge seats and a hot tub. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, large jd tv in the bedroom,dining room, and a living area with a reclining sofa and TV. Our property has a vineyard, an almost 4,000 square foot cedar covered veranda with darts, music, TVs, corn hole, ( we offer wedding and Reception packages in a separate request). Lots of trees, a pond with a deck, and shaded places to be outside. We have plenty of wildlife including rabbits, roadrunners, and cardinals, as well as frogs, fish and turtles in the pond. In the summer, we have lots of purple martins who come back year after year.
Many of our travelers enjoy feeding the fish, walking the vineyard or others just enjoy getting away from the bustle of city life.
Unfortunately for those of you who would like to make this a family vacation with children, we regret to inform you this is an adult only destination.

- "Beautiful, clean! Great experience" - "For starters, the loft listing is very humble. When I arrived I was expecting to stay in a nice-ish efficiency apartment over an old workshop. What I found was a lovely, well manicured vineyard estate, and I was staying in a spacious, well appointed, modern loft. The sleeping area has a vaulted ceiling you wouldn’t be able to tell from photos. Though the kitchen and dining space are on a split level up, moving about the unit was very comfortable. (I have a severe thing against slanted ceilings, but this was barely noticeable and made zero impact on our stay. The photos could make it seem otherwise.) The bathroom is very spacious and high end, loved everything about it. The deck was one of my favorite things, my wife and I loved sitting, drinking our coffee and listening to the fountains on the pond in the distance. The view of the vineyard was so serene, the peace and quiet was a great recharge after busy days of adventuring in OKC. The hot tub helped too. Linda, the hostess with the mostest, is a super cool human and was awesome to get to know. Not everyone wants to interact during their getaway, and she would totally respect that. She was our kind of person, hysterical and friendly. She was available and responsive to communication and answered any questions we had. 10/10 will recommend to friends if they ever travel to the OKC area!"

The owners live on property and are available in emergencies. If you need to reach us, we are available via text. We live on 10 acres and that leads to having various projects going on at any given time. The most common maintenance that you could hear or see would be us trimming trees, mowing the yards, cleaning the pond, and tending to our garden. If we have time, we are happy to interact, but we also know some people just need respite and we respect this desire for privacy.

Mountain View Park Neighborhood: This neighborhood is historic and on private roads. We boast towering cedar and oak trees, abundant wildlife, and great walking trails. It's the only neighborhood with wooded acreage 1 mile from the highway i-35 and so close to all the amenities in town and the lake. There is simply no other neighborhood of its kind in all of Edmond. Be surrounded by nature, yet right next to the City. We also provide all the information on the history of the historic neighborhood in our guestbook.

We are 1 mile from the highway, 1 mile from Lake Arcadia boat ramps and beaches, 3 miles from University of Central Oklahoma, 20 minutes from downtown OKC, 10 minutes from downtown Edmond, and close to all the eateries, movie theaters, bowling, bakeries, grocery stores, etc.

You will have access to the entire house minus the cleaning closet. You will also have access to our Koi pond, kids playhouse and the surrounding area of the house. 4 parking spots within our gates are available to you.

Downstairs: The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen so you can cook any meal. There is a large island for prepping meals. A bar for eating, 2 living areas, 1 dining table for four, 1 fireplace, and a unique Japanese soaking tub are all accessible downstairs.
Upstairs: a spiral staircase leads to an open loft with 1 king and 1 queen. It has a private bathroom and shower.
Outside: 1 table that seats 4 is located on the front porch, one covered outdoor living area on the back porch and one charcoal grill.

We are 25 minutes from Will Rogers International Airport and 1 mile from Lake Arcadia. We have free parking for 4 cars and are 3 minutes from I-35. We are available to make recommendations for any activities you may be interested in doing. We have created a guidebook for you to check out before and during your stay. The Gate House was built in 1940's and has been remodeled with unique features, all while maintaining its historic charm. From the native cedar spiral staircase, to the peaceful outdoor space, to the one of a kind hospitality- it is the ONLY Cabin of its kind in OKC/Edmond/Central Oklahoma.

A few things to note about our Cabin:

*The loft is open. We have two beds in the loft that are on opposite ends of the loft. The king size bed does have a wall and door for privacy. The Loft spans the entire length of the house, the queen bed is open in the loft area and the king bed has a door that can be locked. The beds are not side by side; they are in separate rooms. If you are traveling with another couple, please note that the queen bed is open in the loft, the king bed is in a room with a door that can be closed.

*There is a spiral staircase built out of all native cedar lumber taken from the property. The staircase leads to the open loft and requires coordination and strength to carry luggage up the stairs. All rooms are upstairs, so it is imperative for guests to be able to navigate a spiral staircase.

*We also have a Japanese soaking tub in the downstairs bathroom. This bathtub is not a typical bathtub. It requires stepping up two steps and then stepping down into the tub. It is only meant for soaking and not meant for showering. And again, it could be harder to enjoy if you struggle with walking up or down steps. This is not the only bathroom, we also have a bathroom upstairs with a shower.

We are unable to offer refunds for cancellations due to acts of God, pandemics, weather conditions, or medical emergencies. Other Things to Note:
The home faces second street and to park you must pull down the alley behind the home. It is a gravel drive accessible between University and Rankin.

Interaction with Guests:
We love to help you as little or as much as you'd like. Our office is in the back of the home, but has no access to the home and we tread lightly when we have guests. You may see us from time to time working, but we keep to ourselves unless you need something. We are happy to offer up our favorite local restaurants and book stores if you need them!
