- "The cabins we're clean and creativity decorated in rustic charm. It is close to the Wichita Wildlife refuge, and about a 15 minute drive from Lawton. The porch with chairs were welcome since it was a family reunion. The only problem we had was the faucets were hard to turn off completely in the sink. The refuge has amazing hikes, and Medicine Park nearby is a fun place to visit. The plantation restaurant on Medicine Park was out favorite eatery, but Lil Mama in Cahe is a great place for breakfast."

The Buffalo Wallow Cabin is named after the fascinating bowl like depressions made by wallowing herds of bison as they roll on the ground in a dust bath. Buffalo Wallows still dot the prairie today and play an important role in the ecosystem.

LIL ABOUT THE BUNKHOUSE
The gorgeous dark stained floors run throughout bringing out the beauty of the space where we used a mixture of vintage bricks and various tones of barn wood on the walls. The tin ceiling is picture worthy.

The LED lighting really brightens up the space and the floors are equipped with ample electrical outlets which is a favorite of our crafting guests. We provide flat screen televisions in both the main area and both bedrooms. A quaint area off to the side has a comfy seating, cowhide rug, vintage iron stove, and an antique coin operated ride on horse. Kids will also enjoy the "I Spy" adventure while hunting for the woodland critters hidden throughout the space. Everyone will want a turn at the arcade style foosball table or beat your buddies playing card games at the poker table.

Cook up a homemade meal in the spacious kitchen complete with oven & stove top, fridge with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, plus cooking and baking essentials. Whether you are serving up a special meal or kicking back with friends enjoying your favorite beverage, the bar top area named “Jack’s Mule Barn” by our grand-kids is sure to be a popular spot. The Craterville Park Cabin is named in honor of the legacy founded by Frank S. Rush over a hundred years ago when he opened Craterville Park two miles north of our location at The Lazy Buffalo. Craterville Park produced generations of memories and offered recreation and entertainment like nowhere else in Oklahoma at the time.

We are honored to be able to share a bit of the Craterville Park history with our guests. Frank Rush III kindly loaned original photographs, brochures, posters, and other memorabilia for this Cabin. Frank is the grandson of E. Frank Rush who founded Craterville Park in 1923 with a goal to preserve the cowboy and Indian heritage of the area. Over the years, this dude ranch became known as "The Playground of Southwest Oklahoma."

Many say that The Lazy Buffalo resembles an Old West Town. Our Cabins are similar to a classic motel layout. There are charming touches throughout the property along with modern offerings such as Wi-fi, Netflix, and the convenience of self check in.

The Gambling Buffalo Cabin at The Lazy Buffalo has two queen size beds and a full bathroom with a large walk in tiled shower accented with glass blocks. Knotty pine and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant touch. The kitchenette area has a mini fridge, microwave, k cup coffee maker, along with table and chairs.

During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and Wi-Fi or unplug and take in the beauty of our area. Watch as the sunsets over the plains from the long covered front porch while lounging in the wooden rockers. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly worth witnessing.

Sip on a cup of coffee to get your morning started right and end your adventurous day gathered at the covered picnic area while enjoying smells from the charcoal grill. Yummy marshmallow goodness at the fire pit is a memorable way to cap off the evening or choose to relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.

Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes and playing old fashion games. Toss Frisbees at the disc golf stations, drop giant checkers to make a Connect 4, create music at our interactive music wall, or team up for some volleyball action. We are always adding new outdoor activities. Don't forget to snap some memories at The Lazy Buffalo photo ops.

The Lazy Buffalo offers 13 individually themed cabins and a bunkhouse. Each Cabin is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.

The Cabin decor is casino inspired with a feeling lucky vibe. The Comanche Cache Casino is just a block away. The expansion just finished and the Casino is now open. It has over 300 machines along with Wahlburgers restaurant, the only one in Oklahoma. Casino is age 18 and non-smoking. The restaurant is Family Friendly.

LOCATION:
Not only do we have 4 Casinos within 30 minutes of our location, but we are located just over 2 miles from the entrance to the Wichita Mountains. The Wildlife Refuge preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking.

A paved bike lane joins the property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. The Lazy Buffalo is less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park so there's plenty to see and do nearby.

Our property accommodates up to 49 guests among the 13 vacation Cabins and Bunkhouse. The bunkhouse is a 2400 square foot building with a large gathering area, 2 themed bunkrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen with cooking and baking essentials, plus a one of a kind serving area. Pets: Even though we do not allow pets in this Cabin, we do offer Pet Friendly Cabins. if you would like to bring your fur baby, check out the Buffalo Wallow Cabin or Ruffled Feathers Cabin

Key: You will be provided a key to the Cabin which you will get from a lockbox. You are responsible for returning the key to the lockbox upon departure. There is a $25 missing key fee.

Television: This Cabin does have a television with Netflix. Some Cabins do NOT have local channels.

Cabin Cleaning: While we do not provide daily housekeeping, we can replenish towels every 3 days. We have a guest laundry on the property that is open from 4pm to 9am daily. The guest laundry has a coin operated washer and dryer. The laundry room is shared with other guests.

Fort Sill Military Base- 12 Miles
Fort Sill Military Base serves as home to the United States Army Field Artillery School as well as the Marine Corps site for Field Artillery MOS School and is 1 of 4 Army Basic Combat training. Fort Sill has an excellent on-site museum that is accessible with a visitor pass.
