- " • The Lemon Garden Residence was a lovely place to land when arriving to Heraklion for the first time. Manos, the owner, went above and beyond and showed the most welcoming hospitality. We were able to text him throughout the duration of our stay, for recommendations, help, etc. (He was kind enough to print our tickets for our bus to Chania - just an example of how hospitable he was!) The hotel itself was lovely. We had a beautiful room. The mini fridge came stocked with cold water and fresh fruit Manos had grown on his Organic farm. The AC worked well, the shower was stocked with Korres products, and it felt plenty spacious for two people. Manos provided a map of the local area, with landmark sights and attractions, and gave us recommendations for restaurants and activities. The garden surrounding the rooms was one of our favorite parts - the plants and lemon trees were beautifully curated and cared for. We felt the listing accurately depicts the rooms, but we wanted to share more photos of the garden because it was too beautiful not to! I stayed in Basic Studio 1 and it was very spacious with a double bed, 2 seater table, sofa (that could also be a double bed), kitchenette, balcony, and spacious bathroom area with a rainfall shower. The balcony area was large and also had seating for 2 with a table, and a clothes horse to dry clothing. Amenities include an iron and iron boarding, a hair dryer, kettle, coffee machine, under-counter fridge (that was quite big considering, and also has a small freezer section), a plug-in stove top that could accommodate a single pan, a toastie machine, a large sauce pan, large frying pan, and cutlery and crockery for 2 people. It’s worth noting that there’s no microwave, proper toaster, or actual oven, if you’re wanting to cook. Hop-on tourist bus stop right outside the apartment building. My only issues are that it’s a keypad to get into the building and your room (no reception or anything). You should receive this information in an email prior to your arrival but I never did (nor did I know that you needed this key-code). Luckily was able to call and get it over the phone. Was then told on the phone I’d receive the information in a text. Never received an email or a text from them. So make sure you get that code in advance. Also, there’s a pizza restaurant adjoined to the staircase / entrance of the flats. It’s a good restaurant and very convenient. But could get a bit noisy in the evenings if you had kids. "
