My main frustration is the rule around the use of the sun mattresses (yes that’s not a typo) around the pool being €150 a day. That’s ridiculous and there were only 1 or 2 being used, mainly after a certain time in the afternoon when things start to wind down. Personally, this is the one thing that needs to change as that’s a silly price. The food and booze is excellent although on the expensive side, you do get what you pay for so make sure if you don’t have all inclusive, you bring some cash. Everything else was brilliant, all of the team at the front desk and buffet breakfast should get a massive shout out. If we ever had an issue, it was sorted pretty much immediately. The hotel is situated 10 minute walk from the main town and you will find some brilliant local tavernas around there to complement your stay. Enjoy!!"

- "Wow! I only stayed one night because I’d read bad reviews saying it was noisy and full of annoying influencers. I think you pay more and get more. I was in a bungalow and it was pure bliss. Marina, my concierge, really helped me to maximise my stay and was amazing. I loved not having to fight people for sun loungers at 7am with towels. I loved how private the bungalow was. The only downside for me was I think if I stayed longer I’d come back fat, the food was amazing and all inclusive just makes you want to try things and eat lots. I’m not really a drinker, maybe one, so this was a bit of a waste for me. Gym was pretty decent but closed at 7 which is really early. Overall it was brilliant, super expensive but worth it for something special. I’ll stay longer next time I go, I think 5 nights is ideal "

- "We were only at the hotel for one night, and arrived at 7pm due to a delayed ferry, but we had a lovely if brief stay! The staff were welcoming on arrival and provided a welcome drink and showed us to our room. The rooftop pool is open until 8pm so we managed a quick dip and headed out to get some dinner. We walked to the old market area (Kalokerinou- about fifteen minutes away) and found a lovely restaurant. The buffet breakfast in the morning was to a high standard as well. Definitely recommend this hotel and would go back. Only thing of note is that it is on the main road and you can hear traffic if the window is open."

- "A fantastic hotel all round. We booked the all inclusive option which worked well for us. We had a room with a sea view terrace. It was worth the extra cost as it had a jacuzzi, bali beds, sofa & firepit! Yoga & Pilates equipment was also provided for our private use, so early morning yoga sessions on the terrace overlooking the sea were a must! The food & drink were also very good. All dinners were al la carte & the quality was exceptional even though they were catering for large numbers. The pools were large & there were generally plenty of sunbeds to use along with waiter service from the pool bar. The beach was opposite the hotel & had comfy sunbeds, serviced also by the pool bar. The only negative if there is one was that there wasn’t really much around in the immediate vicinity. However, we did hire a car which allowed us to go further afield so we could explore a bit more of Crete. A very relaxing holiday & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Thank you. "

o Malia is one of the most well developed touristic settlements of Crete, divided in "two" by the central road: the upper part of the settlement preserves the features of a traditional, Cretan village, with narrow paved streets, houses built with the traditional architectural style and picturesque taverns, while the lower contemporary part hosts all the touristic infrastructures. Discover everything at a walking distance from Notos Heights Hotel & Suites.
o Apart from the settlement, you can also visit the Malia archaeological site, where the third biggest and most significant Minoan palace (following Knossos and Faistos) has been excavated; according to the legend there reigned Sarpidonas, brother of Minoas and son of Europa and Zeus. You can combine the sightseeing with a swim at the beautiful, sand beach of Potamos, located right next to the site.
o Last but not least, it is worth exploring the picturesque villages, located southeast of Malia, such as Mohos, Krasi, Avdos and the neighboring and equally touristic Hersonisos.
