This River Retreat home is a waterfront property on the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities metro area. It is quite convenient to the MSP airport (20 minutes), (St. Paul/ Minneapolis- approx. 30 minutes). Take in the sights and sounds of the river right from the soaring, timber frame great room, deck, or outdoor hot tub! Hawks, bald eagles, foxes, turkeys and wildlife of all kinds are common visitors. Watch for barges and boats on the River, or admire the strange 'laser beam' sounds of rubbing ice in the coldest depths of winter.
We have severe allergies and try to keep our home dust and animal free, as well as free of scented cleaning fragrances. Animals are not allowed, as we have severe allergies and asthmatic reactions to them that have put some of us in the hospital despite inhalers, medications and our best efforts. Sorry, this includes 'hypoallergenic' animals. bi-weekly dusting by our cleaning service is included with your stay, and can be scheduled at your convenience.
Our home is a fabulous space for family reunions, sports teams, gatherings of friends and getaways. Enjoy the outdoor hot tub or the backyard fire ring. There is plenty of sleeping space and a loft area for the kids to hang out with TV and roku, in addition to the living area. The kitchen, and dining room are all open to each other making it a great space to hang out with friends or family. All the twin cities is a short drive away, and there is a marina down the road if you want to explore the river.
There is an apartment above the garage that is not included with this rental. The apartment is where we crash occasionally when we are in town visiting family. (our first review from 6 years ago mentions it being a corporate rental - we were finishing up a contract, it has not been a corporate rental since). It has a private entrance in the garage where the only common wall with the home is. There are no shared spaces among the apartment and the home other than the garage. 2 garage parking spots are included with the rental.

Summary:
Your “cabin” in the city awaits you. A modern space with a sprawling floorplan offers the perfect getaway for families and friends to gather. Rest and relax here, and when you're ready to explore the Twin Cities, it is just minutes away. Take in lake views from the hot tub, the deck, living room and sun porch. You’ll feel like you’re up north yet you’ll be close to everything.
The Space:
This house is perfect for family gatherings, girls weekends, guys weekends, weddings, company retreats and more. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms downstairs, and each level has its own bathroom, living room, TV, and fireplace. Off the main living room is an expansive deck that has a spectacular view of Lake Schmidt. The downstairs living room opens to an equally huge sun porch with just as good of views, heated by a gas fireplace.
There is also a wet bar with a sink and full fridge in the room leading to the hot tub patio.
I have everything you need here: clean linens/towels/washcloths, all kitchen utensils you need, and cooking and baking spices/supplies, etc.
While swimming and fishing in the lake is not recommended, people have done it before if they're feeling adventurous or overly optimistic about fish. The water is shallow so the actively growing aquatic plants in the water usually reach the surface in August.
There is direct access to the lake via about 15 steps that lead to the water's edge. There you will find a canoe, 2 kayaks, and the paddles. Life jackets are in the storage bin by the hot tub. Exploring the lake is so much fun! You’ll probably see turtles, small fish, one of the resident bald eagles, egrets, muskrats, and so much more. The lake is teeming with life. And if you come any time in the spring to late fall, you will find a beautiful lily pad field with the most amazing flowers just to the left of the property.
There are 6 bedrooms all with queen-sized beds. And for groups that need to accommodate more...four more people can sleep on the two couches that convert into beds in the lower level living room. Four more can sleep on the 2 air mattresses provided. Sleeps 20 people in total.
When making your reservation request, please be aware that the number of guests you list when booking is the maximum that will be allowed on the property. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will be asked to provide the names of all who will be at the house for a half hour or more (infants 12 months and younger will not be counted as guests). Please note that there are cameras that are only focused on the entrances to the house and NOT inside the house in any way. Inviting more people to the house that are not listed may result in immediate cancelation of the booking without refund.

You will have access to the entire property.
Other Things to Note:
For your reservation, it includes 4 guests and each additional person over 4 people is $30/person/night. A guest is defined as anyone on the property for over a half hour and over the age of 1.
Enjoy the 7-person hot tub year-round - it's kept at 102 degrees upon your arrival. Also available year-round is the enormous fire-pit patio and I do include unlimited kiln-dried oak firewood for you to build as many fires as you like. There is a propane grill on the deck which is always ready. There is seating for 12 on the deck.
I offer early check-in or late check-out for $75/hour, but please schedule this in advance so we can plan accordingly.
HOUSE RULES:
1) Quiet Hours: 10pm to 8am – Enforced by the City of Inver Grove Heights
City ordinance requires complete quiet around the home starting at 10pm. This means all outdoor activity and socializing must be brought inside by that time—no exceptions. My neighbors are extremely important to me, and I have a zero-tolerance policy on this rule. After 10pm, no music or conversation should be audible outside—including to neighbors, outdoor cameras, or the noise-monitoring system on-site. Soft, hushed voices are okay if necessary (like when walking to and from your car), but please avoid any unnecessary outdoor noise, and do not use car remotes that cause the horn to beep—lock manually instead. As you appreciate peace and quiet at your own home, please extend the same courtesy to my neighbors so I can continue offering this space to guests like you.
Violation of this rule may result in a fine deducted from your security deposit. AIRBNB’s and VRBO's Community Disturbance Policy also prohibits disruptive gatherings or excessive noise at any time of day.
(2) NO SMOKING INDOORS: this includes but is not limited to cigarettes, marijuana, and e-cigs/vapes. Smoking must be away from open doors and windows. You must pick up any cigarette butts or other smoking debris when smoking outside.
If I find any evidence of smoking inside, a $1500 fee will be taken from your security deposit plus the cost to remove the smoke smell.
(3) Guest list must be provided 2 weeks before your stay must match your actual guests. Guests over what you selected when making your reservation are $30 per person per day extra. Please send first and last names in the message thread. Please understand an open guest list party is NOT ALLOWED and will result in an immediate cancellation of your reservation and any guests over the amount listed when booking will be charged at $30/guest/day. Day guests and night guests are counted the same for fee purposes. Maximum 20 guests allowed on the property at a time.
4) HOT TUB
The hot tub is available from 8 AM to 10 PM. During quiet hours (10pm to 8am), we allow up to 2 people maximum if they will follow quiet hours rule-- using only hushed library level voices after 10pm. The same quiet hours apply in the hot tub.
• All kids must be supervised by an adult when using the hot tub. Kids under 10 years old are not allowed in the hot tub.
• No glass allowed in or near the hot tub. No smoking in the hot tub as debris/ash causes damage to the hot tub components.
• Use at your own risk.
I request a $1,500 security deposit to ensure these 4 rules are followed. It is your responsibility as the renter to communicate these rules to your guests.
To pay the House Rules Deposit:
Airbnb: I make a Money Request through the website. The deposit is then refunded through the website within 2 days after your stay if the house rules are followed.
VRBO: Will be "held" on the first day of your stay. Not a charge and is released within 48 hours of departure provided the house rules are followed.
I do not enjoy being so strict and requiring this security deposit but past experiences have made these steps necessary. I greatly appreciate your understanding.

1. No dogs on furniture. If your dog is used to that at home, please bring blankets or covers from home to cover furniture.

Large home in a retreat like setting just minutes from both Minneapolis and Saint Paul, the airport, and the Mall of America. Perfect for groups and families this home boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool (available end of May-beginning Sept), 6 person jetted hot tub with lounger (available Oct-April), five bedrooms including a large master suite, two large living spaces, an enormous deck, and an additional kitchen with a wet bar downstairs. Home is set on 2 acres of woods and large green spaces (found mostly in the backyard) making it perfect if you want to feel like you’re escaping while still being only minutes from both downtowns.
Note: we do charge for events, which we consider to be 16 people or more on the property at a given time. We also charge for additional garbage that cannot fit into the bin left at the property.

There is direct access to the lake from the property with a dock.
While swimming and fishing in the lake is not recommended, people have done it before if they're feeling adventurous or overly optimistic about fish. The water is shallow so the actively growing aquatic plants in the water usually reach the surface especially from May through August.
Motorized boats are not allowed on the lake so please enjoy the peace and tranquility. There are 2 canoes, 4 kayaks, and 4 paddle boards available for your use to go exploring around the lake. If you come during the summer months, you will find a beautiful section of lily pads with the most amazing flowers.
This modern lake home has been totally remodeled to provide all the creature comforts of home while allowing you to take in all the sights and sounds that nature has to offer. You may even see one of the resident bald eagles!
The house provides a great opportunity to get away from the pressures of life for either a couple of days or for a week or more.
The location is perfect as it's so close to the Minneapolis (20 min) and St. Paul (10 min) yet secluded enough that you would never know it.
The house has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
Check in time is 3 PM and check out time is 10 AM.
For your reservation, the reservation fee includes 4 guests and each additional person, even if just stopping by and not staying overnight, is an additional charge which is calculated when you finalize your reservation. The current additional charge is $30 per guest per day.
I encourage you to purchase travel insurance so that in the unlikely yet possible event that something happens and you need to cancel your trip after the refund deadline, you can receive some of your costs back for eligible cancellations.
Please note that there may be security cameras that face the entrances of the house, NOT on the inside.
HOUSE RULES:
1) Quiet Hours: 10pm to 8am – Enforced by the City of Inver Grove Heights
City ordinance requires complete quiet around the home starting at 10pm. This means all outdoor activity and socializing must be brought inside by that time—no exceptions. My neighbors are extremely important to me, and I have a zero-tolerance policy on this rule. After 10pm, no music or conversation should be audible outside—including to neighbors, outdoor cameras, or the noise-monitoring system on-site. Soft, hushed voices are okay if necessary (like when walking to and from your car), but please avoid any unnecessary outdoor noise, and do not use car remotes that cause the horn to beep—lock manually instead. As you appreciate peace and quiet at your own home, please extend the same courtesy to my neighbors so I can continue offering this space to guests like you.
Violation of this rule may result in a fine deducted from your security deposit. AIRBNB’s and VRBO's Community Disturbance Policy also prohibits disruptive gatherings or excessive noise at any time of day.
(2) NO SMOKING INDOORS: this includes but is not limited to cigarettes, marijuana, and e-cigs/vapes. Smoking must be away from open doors and windows. You must pick up any cigarette butts or other smoking debris when smoking outside.
If I find any evidence of smoking inside, a $1500 fee will be taken from your security deposit plus the cost to remove the smoke smell.
(3) Guest list must be provided 2 weeks before your stay must match your actual guests. Guests over what you selected when making your reservation are $30 per person per day extra. Day guests and night guests are counted the same for fee purposes and a guest is defined as anyone on the property for 30 minutes or more over the age of 1. Please send first and last names in the message thread. Please understand an open guest list party is NOT ALLOWED and will result in an immediate cancellation of your reservation and any guests over the amount listed when booking will be charged at $30/guest/day. There is a limit of 40 guests during the day and a limit of 32 overnight guests.
I request a $1,500 security deposit to ensure these 3 rules are followed. It is your responsibility as the renter to communicate these rules to your guests.

Airbnb: I make a Money Request through the website. The deposit is then refunded through the website within 2 days after your stay if the house rules are followed.

Enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located home. Just 9 minutes to MSP Airport and 10 minutes to the Mall Of America, this accomodation makes a great home base to visit all of the hot spots in the Twin Cities area. Downtown Minneapolis and St Paul are a 15-20 minute drive.
The Space:
Please read over ALL my house rules before booking my home by going to the House Rules section; below you will find the most important notes that I want to make you aware of. After 10 years of being an AirBNB superhost, I have learned the following rules are 100% necessary. The general idea behind my rules is, "respect my neighbors, no rowdy parties, no noise after 10pm...this is a nice, quiet neighborhood...there will be serious consequences to ignoring my house rules so book elsewhere if you don't trust your group to follow rules." That's the general idea. Friend groups that are gathering for birthday, bachelor, or bachelorette parties will be accepted on a case by case basis. I am only able to rent to respectful groups who follow rules. If your group is planning to do a lot of binge drinking and partying with loud music, please find another location; I could even host you at other properties I offer, but this neighborhood is a family-friendly environment and I want to keep it that way.
A $1,500 security deposit is required for all groups renting this home to enforce these 5 house rules:
1) GUEST LIST must be provided before checkin and any changes to guest list must be approved before guest is allowed on property. To prevent any miscommunication, a "guest" is defined as anyone that sets foots on the property during your stay (only exceptions are Uber/Lyft drivers and delivery people). An open-guest-list party is strictly prohibited; I have a zero-tolerance policy toward unauthorized guests on the property and in the event of a noise complaint, IDs will be checked and anyone left off the guest list can result in immediate cancellation of your reservation.
2) 10pm QUIET HOURS- Enforced by the City of Mendota Heights. City law states it should be totally silent around the house starting at 10. What this means for your group is that all outdoor activity must be brought inside by 10pm. If neighbors can hear people talking/yelling/laughing and or music after 10pm, that is a problem with the city. If you can keep your conversation to a hushed whispering level, then by all means have a chat, but voices should not be heard outside after 10pm. Guests walking to and from the house to get things from the car can either be totally silent or if they need to talk, they must only speak at hushed levels. There should be no car honks from remote control locking - cars need to be manually locked. 10pm is the magic hour and everyone in group must be aware of this time.
3) NO STREET PARKING - there is enough parking for 6 total cars at the house. You can park UP TO 4 cars in the driveway and 2 cars in the garage. The city limits 4 CARS in the driveway and NO STREET PARKING is allowed for short term rentals - ensure every driver is aware. $500 fine per car per day for ignoring this rule.
4) NO SMOKING INDOORS: this includes but is not limited to cigarettes, marijuana, and e-cigs/vapes. Smoking must be away from open doors and windows. You must pick up any cigarette butts or other smoking debris when smoking outside.

5) POOL & HOT TUB
The pool and hot tub is available from 8 AM to 10 PM. During quiet hours (10pm to 8am), we allow up to 2 people maximum if they will follow quiet hours rule-- using only hushed library level voices after 10pm. The same quiet hours apply in the hot tub.
• All kids must be supervised by an adult when using the pool / hot tub. Kids under 10 years old are not allowed in the hot tub.
• No glass allowed in or near the pool / hot tub. No smoking in the pool and hot tub as debris/ash causes damage to the pool and hot tub components.
• Use at your own risk.
To pay the House Rules Deposit:
Airbnb: I make a Money Request through the website. The deposit is then refunded through the website within 2 days after your stay if the house rules are followed.

Getting Around:
Two parking spots in garage and space for up to 4 cars in the driveway (city ordinance to not go over 4 in the driveway), NO STREET PARKING allowed.
The right side of the house is directly on Delaware Ave but the road is blocked from vision by trees that also block most, but not all, of the sound of passing cars. Delaware provides easy access to highway 62 which will take you to the Twin Cities and all its suburbs super easily and quickly.
Being 10 minutes to the airport, planes are flying overhead and can be audible at various times of day. Bring a portable speaker or move the provided Echo dots outside for music. With a little music and poolside conversation, the sound of any planes or cars are much less noticeable. Please just keep music to a level that won’t disturb the neighbors. This is super appreciated!

Beautiful and completely renovated home located on the Mississippi River - the great room is truly spectacular. Great for large groups, entertaining and close to Minneapolis, St Paul, MSP Airport, skiing, marinas. Gain access through keypad at your convenience with many comforts of home. Enjoy the soak tubs, relaxing with a cup of coffee in the sun room or spacious deck. The neighborhood is quant with mature trees and wildlife. We try to accommodate reasonable requests like air mattresses, etc.
This space was completely renovated with a fresh and clean look. Quartz countertops, stainless appliances (double oven, dishwasher and farmhouse sink) and a great room we all dream about it perfect for a women's retreat or relaxing with family. Views of the Mississippi River are spectacular. Each of the three bathrooms has a bathtub (one with soak tub and the other a jetted corner tub).
Outside we have a Webber grill, comfortable patio furniture, a fire pit and all things that can help you truly enjoy your stay. Two kayaks are available for you to use (life jackets must be worn). Children should not be left unattended and should wear life jackets when playing near the river (we have provided, but please ensure a proper fit based upon weight of your child).
Accommodations for young children can be made as well to include pack-n-play, high chair, monitor, etc. We will do our best to make you feel right at home.
Master has king bed (sleeps 2) , second bedroom has queen bed (sleeps 2), 3rd bedroom has two full/double bunk beds (sleeps 4), 4th bedroom has a queen (sleeps 2), 5th bedroom has four full/double beds (sleeps 8).
When making your reservation request, please be aware that the number of guests you list when booking is the maximum that will be allowed on property. Please make sure to include the number of guests who may just be stopping by even if they are not staying overnight as they are included for fee calculations.
You may have up to 18 guests at the house and if more guests are present than disclosed, your reservation may be cancelled without refund or notice.
Be respectful of our neighbors by being quiet after dark – they live here year-round and their happiness enables us to continue renting this home for groups like yours to enjoy. Should the neighbors have to call me for a noise complaint a $200 damage charge will be taken from your security deposit.

A few people in our party took the kayaks out for a spin on the river. The huge house was very clean, and everything we could have needed was included. Christina the owner was so helpful as we planned our trip, and provided so many lovely touches and treats to make our stay even more enjoyable. Our max capacity for this home is 12 people. We have 2 king beds, 3 queen beds, and 2 longer sofas.
There is no additional charge for up to 5 guests, it's $25 per additional person per night after 5 guests.

Walking into Minne-GetAway's Southie Paradise, you will genuinely be amazed at the high end finishes, thoughtfully designed layout, and ambiance created through out the home with the zen-like color palette. Unique textures like the concrete fireplace with ship lap accents and tall beadboard paneling will draw your eye to the details that abound throughout this home. Custom tiled baths, stone countertops, and separate bedrooms on each floor make this home unique for your travel needs.
Did you know that South Saint Paul residents refer to themselves as “Southies”?! Hence the name; Southie Paradise! We truly love this space and hope you will too!
This stunning home sits at just over 1400 ft.² with one bedroom on each floor of the home and a sofa pull out in the family room in the lower level. We find that this layout allows for privacy of guests staying together. You can enjoy the open layout on the main floor with the gas fireplace or the large patio and flat backyard.
Please note that this home has a one car attached garage and the one-car-wide driveway is on only large enough to fit one large car or too small cars. There is off street parking however, the home is located half a block from the park and we’ve noticed there can be more street parking than usual on a residential street. This home is located in a nice quiet, residential neighborhood with watchful neighbors. We ask that you respect neighbors when parking and utilize the offstreet parking options.

I’m a night-shift nurse with a guest room available to rent out in my quiet, comfortable townhome. Located in Inver Grove Heights, about 20 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. The guest room has a queen bed, plenty of closet and storage space, a desk, and a TV with Roku.
The space
There is a shared entrance with a keypad lock, and the guest room is up the stairs to the left. The full bath upstairs is shared, however there are two showers, so guests will have their own separate shower.

You are welcome to use the kitchen for whatever you may need, I just ask that that guests refrain from doing any major cooking.
The washer and dryer are available for use for stays of a week or more.

I stay pretty busy and work night shifts, so I may not be around much during your stay… I am always available via Airbnb messages and am happy to answer any questions/concerns you have.

I have a very sweet, well-behaved, friendly cat named Molly... you'll definitely see her around! Please remember to close the bedroom door behind you, otherwise I can't guarantee she won't come in to snuggle :) There is a lint roller in the top drawer in the closet that you’re welcome to use.

The kitchen area is shared with access to dishes, larger refrigerator, microwave, stove. A small refrig and microwave are in the lower level. Guests have access to the washer and dryer. A walking trail is nearby. Parking outside on the driveway.

Convenient access to the Twin Cities and surrounding communities, Mall of America, light rail, and the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport. The Twin Cities area is full of great restaurants, theater, music, art, and a wide variety of events and sites. There is a walking trail in the town home complex which connects to other MN trails.
During your stay
I look forward to meeting guests but also respect their privacy. I am present during the guest stay but am often busy and "out-and-about." I prefer to welcome guests upon their arrival and provide a tour along with house instructions and tips.

YOUR HOUSE MATES: My husband and I occupy the main floor. I am retired. My husband works from home, in our basement. When our guests are using the loft sitting room, we typically use the basement or the sitting area in our bedroom to give them more privacy. Our adult son lives in the basement; he occasionally uses the main floor kitchen or laundry room, but pretty much stays downstairs. We also own a house in Mexico and spend the winter near the beach! The space
This furnished bungalow is only used as a rental, so you won't be bothered by our family or our stuff. The space is two large rooms, with a curtain that can be closed, to block off the bedroom, if preferred. It is hard to show in the photos, but this apartment has 3 large sunny windows, two of which look onto the lake. There is plenty of storage for food, clothes, and personal items. There is parking for up to two vehicles.
There is one TV, in the living room area. We have local broadcast TV via an antenna on the house, a DVD player, a ROKU stick ( we have no subscriptions, such as Netflix, etc.), and an input for any of your devices.
We have family items that we can place in the unit for you to use, if you request them: high chair, booster seat, diaper changing pad, and a pack n place bassinet combo.

You will have access to 1,000 square feet of totally updated living space, the yard, the patio, the charcoal grill, the dock, the canoe ( paddles, life jackets, etc), and fishing poles. This is a non-smoking home, but you can smoke outside.

If you enjoy shopping, the Mall of America and the Twin Cities Premium outlets are a 15 minute drive. You can get to Xcel Energy Center, US Bank stadium, Target Field and Arena, all within 30 minutes. You can get to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester in 1 hour. We are also close to Lebanon Hills regional park, MN Zoo & Imax, and the MN Children's Museum.
Please note, at least one person in the renting party must be between the ages of 25-70. Whomever reserves the bungalow, will need to show a photo ID when they arrive, to prevent fraudulent reservations.

You will enter/exit the back door. Directly inside the backdoor is the basement door straight ahead. My kitchen is in that area and for now I will be hanging a curtain for your privacy.

The lake views are incredible, and you can enjoy them from nearly every room in the house. The spacious first floor has an open entry way, master bedroom, and multiple dining spaces. The walk-out lower level has 2 large bedrooms, a very spacious entertainment area with pool table, and gas fireplace. The property is close to both Minneapolis and St. Paul, the airport, shops, restaurants, and highways. You will be surrounded by nature and feel like you are on a weekend get-away, every day!

Beautiful & completely renovated home located on the Mississippi River - the great room is spectacular. The space
This space was completely renovated with a fresh and clean look. Quartz countertops, stainless appliances (double oven, dishwasher and farmhouse sink) and a great room we all dream about it perfect for a women's retreat or relaxing with family. Views of the Mississippi River are spectacular. Each of the three bathrooms has a bathtub (one with soak tub and the other a jetted corner tub). Accommodations for young children can be made as well to include pack-n-play, high chair, monitor, etc. We will do our best to make you feel right at home.
Enjoy a game of ping pong or foosball in the lower level game room with each other or take time read a book in the sun room overlooking the river. This home is so spacious and elegant it accommodates any type of travelers. We do have a TV on site with Sling TV but there is no cable.

This home is great for gathering with large groups but is not great for “partying” as the neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. Should our neighbors have to call us regarding a noise complaint there will be a $200 damage charge taken from your security deposit. We certainly want you to enjoy your vacation and enjoy peace and quiet as we expect the same courtesy is given to our neighbors so we can continue to offer this home for others to enjoy.
When making your reservation request, please be aware that the number of guests you register when booking is the maximum that will be allowed on property, this can be updated prior to your stay. Please make sure to include the number of guests who may just be stopping by even if they are not staying overnight as they are included for fee calculations. You may have up to 18 guests at the house and if more guests are present than disclosed, your reservation may be cancelled without refund or notice. We do allow host approved gatherings with non-registered guests, please inquire for details.
We do have security cameras located on the outside of the property only to protect both you and our property. There are no cameras inside or facing the inside of home.
The Mississippi River has a strong current and swimming is not advised. If children are present we do require they wear life jackets when playing near the river, we have multiple sizes located on site for them to use. If using the Kayaks Life Jackets must be worn.

The space
This house is perfect for family gatherings, girls weekends, guys weekends, weddings, company retreats and more. I accept bachelor / bachelorette groups on a case by case basis. No rowdy groups (even during the day). Please make sure to look over my house rules before booking. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms downstairs, and each level has its own bathroom, living room, TV, and fireplace. Off the main living room is an expansive deck that has a spectacular view of Lake Schmidt. The downstairs living room opens to an equally huge sun porch with just as good of views, heated by a gas fireplace.
There is also a wet bar with a sink and full fridge in the room leading to the hot tub patio.
I have everything you need here: clean linens/towels/washcloths, all kitchen utensils you need, and cooking and baking spices/supplies, etc.
While swimming and fishing in the lake is not recommended, people have done it before if they're feeling adventurous or overly optimistic about fish. The water is shallow so the actively growing aquatic plants in the water usually reach the surface in July/ August. The fish that I've seen in the lake are about 6 inches in size.
There is direct access to the lake via about 15 steps that lead to the water's edge. There you will find a canoe, 2 kayaks, and the paddles. Life jackets are in the storage bin by the hot tub. Exploring the lake is so much fun! You’ll probably see turtles, small fish, one of the resident bald eagles, egrets, muskrats, and so much more. The lake is teeming with life. And if you come any time in the spring to late fall, you will find a beautiful lily pad field with the most amazing flowers just to the left of the property.
There are 6 bedrooms all with queen-sized beds. And for groups that need to accommodate more...four more people can sleep on the two couches that convert into beds in the lower level living room. Four more can sleep on the 2 air mattresses provided. Sleeps 20 people in total.
When making your reservation request, please be aware that the number of guests you list when booking is the maximum that will be allowed on the property. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will be asked to provide the names of all who will be at the house for a half hour or more (infants 12 months and younger will not be counted as guests). Guests over the ones you selected when making your reservation are $30 per person per day. Please note that there are cameras that are only focused on the entrances to the house and NOT inside the house in any way. Inviting more people to the house that are not listed may result in immediate cancelation of the booking without refund.

For your reservation, the base rate includes 4 guests and each additional person over 4 people is $30/person/night. If you selected the accurate number of guests that will be present at the home when making your reservation, then this fee is already built in to your total. A guest is defined as anyone on the property for over a half hour and over the age of 1.
I accept bachelor / bachelorette groups on a case by case basis. No rowdy groups (even during the day). We have a very nice neighbor and keeping the peace is very important to me. If you think your group may be on the louder side, we won’t be a good match.
Enjoy the 7-person hot tub year-round - it's kept at 102 degrees upon your arrival. Also available year-round is the enormous fire-pit patio and I do include unlimited kiln-dried oak firewood for you to build as many fires as you like. There is a propane grill on the deck which is always ready. There is seating for 12 on the deck.
I offer early check-in or late check-out for $75/hour, but please schedule this in advance so we can plan accordingly.
HOUSE RULES:
1) Quiet Hours: 10pm to 8am – Enforced by the City of Inver Grove Heights
City ordinance requires complete quiet around the home starting at 10pm. This means all outdoor activity and socializing must be brought inside by that time—no exceptions. My neighbors are extremely important to me, and I have a zero-tolerance policy on this rule. After 10pm, no music or conversation should be audible outside—including to neighbors, outdoor cameras, or the noise-monitoring system on-site. Soft, hushed voices are okay if necessary (like when walking to and from your car), but please avoid any unnecessary outdoor noise, and do not use car remotes that cause the horn to beep—lock manually instead. As you appreciate peace and quiet at your own home, please extend the same courtesy to my neighbors so I can continue offering this space to guests like you.
Violation of this rule may result in a fine deducted from your security deposit. AIRBNB’s Community Disturbance Policy also prohibits disruptive gatherings or excessive noise at any time of day.
(2) NO SMOKING INDOORS: this includes but is not limited to cigarettes, marijuana, and e-cigs/vapes. Smoking must be away from open doors and windows. You must pick up any cigarette butts or other smoking debris when smoking outside.
If I find any evidence of smoking inside, a $1500 fee will be taken from your security deposit plus the cost to remove the smoke smell.
(3) Guest list must be provided 2 weeks before your stay must match your actual guests. Guests over what you selected when making your reservation are $30 per person per day extra. Please send first and last names in the message thread. Please understand an open guest list party is NOT ALLOWED and will result in an immediate cancellation of your reservation and any guests over the amount listed when booking will be charged at $30/guest/day. Day guests and night guests are counted the same for fee purposes. Maximum 20 guests allowed on the property at a time.
4) HOT TUB
The hot tub is available from 8 AM to 10 PM. During quiet hours (10pm to 8am), we allow up to 2 people maximum if they will follow quiet hours rule-- using only hushed library level voices after 10pm. The same quiet hours apply in the hot tub.
• All kids must be supervised by an adult when using the hot tub. Kids under 10 years old are not allowed in the hot tub.
• No glass allowed in or near the hot tub. No smoking in the hot tub as debris/ash causes damage to the hot tub components.
• Use at your own risk.
I request a $1,500 security deposit to ensure these 3 rules are followed. It is your responsibility as the renter to communicate these rules to your guests.
To pay the security deposit, I will make a Money Request through the website and, after your stay, the security deposit is refunded through the website within 24 hours assuming the 3 rules are followed.
I do not enjoy being so strict and requiring this security deposit but past experiences have made these steps necessary. I greatly appreciate your understanding.

Dogs are allowed at a rate of $150/dog/stay and these rules must be followed:
1. No dogs on furniture. If your dog is used to that at home, please bring blankets or covers from home to cover furniture.
2. Kennel your dog when away from the house.
3. Give frequent potty breaks to avoid accidents in the home.
4. Must pick up after your dog in the yard
5. Please don’t leave your dog unattended on the deck so that it barks.
You are responsible for any damage to the property caused by your dog. $500 security deposit required (refunded after your stay as long as there’s no damage). Thank you for understanding.

Nestled on 2 wooded acres with 1,000 feet of shoreline on gorgeous Lake Schmidt, this whole duplex can be yours for the weekend. Important Note: Before booking this beautiful lake home retreat, please read over ALL my house rules before booking my home by going to the House Rules section; below you will find the most important notes that I want to make you aware of. After 10 years of being a dedicated host, I have learned the following rules are 100% necessary. The general idea behind my rules is, "respect my neighbors, no rowdy parties, no noise after 10pm...this is a nice, quiet neighborhood...there will be serious consequences to ignoring my house rules so book elsewhere if you don't trust your group to follow rules." That's the general idea. Friend groups that are gathering for birthday, bachelor, or bachelorette parties will be accepted on a case by case basis. I am only able to rent to respectful groups who follow rules. If your group is planning to do a lot of binge drinking and partying with loud music, please find another location. This neighborhood is a family-friendly environment and I want to keep it that way. A $1,500 security deposit is required for all groups renting this home to enforce our 3 house rules.

HOUSE RULES:
1) Quiet Hours: 10pm to 8am – Enforced by the City of Inver Grove Heights,
city ordinance requires complete quiet around the home starting at 10pm. This means all outdoor activity and socializing must be brought inside by that time—no exceptions. My neighbors are extremely important to me, and I have a zero-tolerance policy on this rule. After 10pm, no music or conversation should be audible outside—including to neighbors, outdoor cameras, or the noise-monitoring system on-site. Guests walking to and from the house to get things from the car can either be totally silent or if they need to talk, they must only speak at hushed levels. Please avoid any unnecessary outdoor noise, and do not use car remotes that cause the horn to beep—lock manually instead. As you appreciate peace and quiet at your own home, please extend the same courtesy to my neighbors so I can continue offering this space to guests like you. 10pm is the magic hour and everyone in group must be aware of this time.
Violation of this rule may result in a fine of up to $1500 deducted from your security deposit. AIRBNB’s Community Disturbance Policy also prohibits disruptive gatherings or excessive noise at any time of day.
2) NO SMOKING INDOORS: this includes but is not limited to cigarettes, marijuana, and e-cigs/vapes. Smoking must be away from open doors and windows. You must pick up any cigarette butts or other smoking debris when smoking outside.
If I find any evidence of smoking inside, a $1500 fee will be taken from your security deposit plus the cost to remove the smoke smell.
3) GUEST LIST
Guest list must be provided 2 weeks before your stay must match your actual guests and any changes to guest list must be approved before guest is allowed on property. Guests over what you selected when making your reservation are $30 per person per day extra. To prevent any miscommunication, a "guest" is defined as anyone that sets foots on the property during your stay (only exceptions are Uber/Lyft drivers and delivery people). Day guests and night guests are counted the same for fee purposes. Please send first and last names in the message thread. Please understand an open guest list party is NOT ALLOWED and will result in an immediate cancellation of your reservation and any guests over the amount listed when booking will be charged at $30/guest/day. I have a zero-tolerance policy toward unauthorized guests on the property and in the event of a noise complaint, IDs will be checked and anyone left off the guest list can result in immediate cancellation of your reservation. There is a limit of 40 guests during the day and a limit of 32 overnight guests.
I request a $1,500 security deposit to ensure these 4 rules are followed. To pay the security deposit, I will make a Money Request through the website and, after your stay, the security deposit is refunded through the website within 48 hours of check-out time assuming the 3 rules are followed. Depending on the severity of the offense, either partial or full security deposit will be withheld. It is your responsibility as the renter to communicate these rules to your guests.
I do not enjoy being so strict and requiring this security deposit but past experiences have made these steps necessary. I greatly appreciate your understanding.

Guests are expected to be respectful of local rules and avoid causing disturbances to neighbors. Disturbances to the surrounding community such as: Excessive noise. Excessive visitors.

After you reserve the property, you will be provided the location of the house. Based on a few previous guests who have caused problems, I will need a list of names of anyone who will be on the property at any time during your stay, even if they are just stopping by. I encourage you to purchase travel insurance so that in the unlikely yet possible event that something happens and you need to cancel your trip after the refund deadline, you can receive some of your costs back for eligible cancellations.

Dogs are allowed at a rate of $150/dog/stay and these rules must be followed:
1. No dogs on furniture. If your dog is used to that at home, please bring blankets or covers from home to cover furniture.
2. Kennel your dog when away from the house.
3. Give frequent potty breaks to avoid accidents in the home- if an accident happens on rugs / couches, please let me know. If your dog is known to have accidents, they must wear a diaper when inside.
4. Must pick up after your dog in the yard
5. Please don’t leave your dog unattended on the deck so that it barks.

Your 5,000 sq.ft. executive home on 2 acres awaits. Relax in the 7-person hot tub. Take in lake views from the deck. Warm up by your choice of 3 fireplaces or build your fire outdoors at the lakeside firepit patio. Explore the lake in the canoe and kayaks provided. There is a 20 person maximum and tons of space for all your guests to enjoy.
The space
I have everything you need here: clean linens, towels, washcloths, and some basic kitchen items like olive oil, salt, pepper, flour and sugar. I supply a Ninja drip coffee maker (with filter), a French press, a Keurig coffee maker (with reusable pods) and Folgers coffee is supplied.
While swimming and fishing in the lake is not recommended, people have done it before if they're feeling adventurous or overly optimistic about fish. The water is shallow so the actively growing aquatic plants in the water usually reach the surface in July/ August. The fish that I've seen in the lake are about 6 inches in size.
There is direct access to the lake via 10 stairs that lead from the backyard to the lakeshore. There are 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, a canoe, paddles, and life jackets available for your use. The lake and surrounding area is teeming with wildlife including tree frogs, turtles, fish, a variety of bird species (eagles, blue jays, cardinals, woodpeckers). You may even see one of the resident bald eagles!
Guest access
You will turn off 70th street to come down a wooded, winding driveway. There are 2 double garages available for you to park up to 4 cars, with additional parking available in the driveway for up to 10 more cars if you get creative.
There is a keypad code for the garages that is provided upon booking. The whole house and surrounding wooded areas are yours to explore and enjoy.
Other things to note
Your reservation includes however many guests you list upon booking. I allow up to 20 guests on the property at any time. All guests must be listed as there is a charge of $30/guest/day (after the first 4 guests) - this fee is already included in your quoted price assuming you select the accurate number of people when booking. If you select 16 but have 20, there’s an extra charge of $30 per person per day. Please see HOUSE RULES below for more information.
Please note that there are cameras that are only focused on the entrances to the house and NOT inside the house in any way.
When making your reservation request, please make sure to include the number of guests who may just be stopping by even if they are not staying overnight as they need to be included for fee calculations (infants from 0-1 year of age are not included in that number). If more guests are present than disclosed, your reservation may be cancelled without refund or notice. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will be asked to provide the names of all who will be present during your stay.

The hot tub is available from 8 AM to 10 PM. During quiet hours (10pm to 8am), we allow up to 2 people maximum if they will follow quiet hours rule-- using only hushed library level voices after 10pm. The same quiet hours apply in the hot tub.
• All kids must be supervised by an adult when using the hot tub. Kids under 10 years old are not allowed in the hot tub.
• No glass allowed in or near the hot tub. No smoking in the hot tub as debris/ash causes damage to the hot tub components.
• Use at your own risk.
I request a $1,500 security deposit to ensure these 3 rules are followed. It is your responsibility as the renter to communicate these rules to your guests.
