Beautiful chalet style log cabin with over 100 feet of shoreline on Pelican Bay! This cabin is only minutes from Ottertail Lake and many other popular fishing lakes. Ottertail, Battle Lake and Perham are home to our favorite shops, restaurants and breweries.

In the main log cabin, the kitchen is fully equipped and features black stainless appliances, beautiful cabinetry and a peninsula that seats 8. The main level boasts an open floor plan and a gorgeous wood-burning fireplace.

Cabin details: (1150 sq. ft.)
The main floor of the cabin (768 sq. ft.) has an open concept throughout the kitchen, dining, and living room. This space is perfect for spending time with the family, playing games, or preparing the fresh fish you caught from the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with what you will need for your stay including a full sized appliances, microwave, pots/pans, cooking utensils, plates, silverware, toaster, coffee pot, Keurig and more. The living room has a seating area where you can enjoy watching shows on the smart TV or warming up by the gas stove during the cold season. Off the dining room is a sliding glass door leading onto a large (36’ x 8’) covered deck/porch facing west. This is a great space rain or shine! This deck has enough seating for everyone. Down the hall from the kitchen is the bedroom and the bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and is equipped with towels and washcloths, a hair dryer, and basic soaps. The main level bedroom has a queen sized bed.

The cabin's loft (382 sq. ft.): The stairway to the loft is off the living room and has 1 king sized and 2 full sized beds. The loft is an open space overlooking the living and dining room. Sheets and bedspreads are provided for all sleeping areas. Off the loft is a sliding glass door which leads out to a cozy deck overlooking the back yard for a nice secluded area to have your morning cup of coffee and listen to the birds! Between the 1 bedroom + loft space, the cabin will sleep 8 comfortably.

Cabin basement: The basement of the cabin is not part of the rented space. The space is unfinished, but we will keep it unlocked if you would like to use the washer and dryer. Please respect this space and do not use other than laundry.

Lake and pontoon Details: Bring your fishing poles and boat to enjoy the lake life! If you do not have a boat of your own, you can rent our pontoon for the week. The pontoon rental is $250 a day (3 day minimum) or $1,250 for the whole week (saving $500!). Marion Lake, in Otter Tail County, has over 1600 acres, a maximum depth over 70 feet, and a water clarity of nearly 12 feet! This is a popular lake in the area for fishing and water sports. The lake offers a variety of fish species, with Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, crappie, and Bluegill being the most dominant gamefish. The property offers a private dock in the channel where you can dock your boat after a day of fishing or water sports. There is a gradual slope down to the dock about 275 feet from the cabin. No boat? No problem.Fishing right off the dock offers some of the best fishing on the lake in the spring time. You can spend the day with your kids and grandkids in the spring season pulling in fish after fish right off the dock! If fishing isn't your thing, spend some quiet time on the dock reading a book and enjoying the view. After the fish move out to the big lake in the early summer, there is still plenty of room to park your boat at the private dock so you are ready to head out on the lake any time you wish for fishing, water-sports, or simply a beautiful and relaxing cruise on the lake!

Property details: Besides offering access right to the lake, this wooded 2 1/2 acre property offers a large, semi-secluded area to enjoy yard games, grilling, and a fire pit for a relaxing evenings by the fire. There is plenty of space to park cars near the cabin. If you bring snowmobiles or a boat, there is space at the top of the hill, near the pole barn, for trailer or additional parking. The railroad track runs behind the pole barn.

Additional notes: If you enjoy canoeing, we have an aluminum canoe that is included in the price during your stay. The dock and the deck are two of our favorite areas on the property to enjoy a cup of coffee and listen to or watch the wildlife. There is not a swimming beach at the property, but there is a sandy area to swim at just across the lake from the channel. The slope is very gradual and you can walk out for quite a ways before it drops off. It is a great swimming area for kids of all ages! This area can be accessed by car or boat. We love to beach the pontoon there and our kids and grandkids will swim for hours!

Our private dock is located about 275 feet down a gradual slope in the channel. The dock has foam pads to protect your boat if you choose to tie it off there. Because the property is wooded and secluded, the channel is not typically viewable from the cabin. If you bring a boat, the property is located within minutes of the public boat landing where you can launch your boat.

Things to do in the area: Otter Tail County is a great place for those who love the outdoors! Many miles of snowmobile trails are easily accessible from the cabin. Not only does Otter Tail County have over 1,200 lakes and streams, it is also home to 3 beautiful state parks which include numerous miles of hiking trials and biking trails. Places like the historic Phelps Mill is a beautiful place to visit. Otter Tail, Battle Lake and Perham are home to our favorite shops, restaurants and breweries in the area. If your stay includes a Wednesday, one our favorite things to do in the area, in the summer, is go to the turtle races in Perham! You can either bring your own turtle or borrow one of theirs!

Wow! Be on Ottertail and ALSO have a boat dock on Ottertail River (the "channel'). Cute, cozy, 3 bedroom RIGHT on Ottertail Lake. AMAZING view and direct access to Ottertail Lake! Full kitchen, living room, nice sunroom, and THAT deck. Wow. It may be the BEST lake deck on the best lake in Minnesota (IMHO!). :-)

The is a quintessential cabin for living the ultimate relaxed lake life. "Lake Cabin" that's this. Cozy. Comfy. And the lake is RIGHT THERE all the time, from most rooms. Ah, now I want to leave my home town and head back myself right now..... AND the lake? Ottertail is a truly wonderful lake for ALL water activities. Swim, boat, ski, jetski, windsurf, fish, chill!

We love Ottertail. Ottertail is a big, yet relatively quiet, lake. It is very boat friendly, with almost all of it being easily navigable. We come every year for 2 weeks around the 4th. Its our favorite time of year! So chill. Just relax by the water, either riverside or RIGHT on the lake.

Our Little Red Ottertail Lake cabin is a 3 bedroom sleeping up to 7, and it has 2 full shared baths (both are showers, sink, toilet, there are no tubs).

Our lakefront cabin, has an incredible deck that is somewhat elevator (with easy steps down), making it an ever better view AND more breezy too! And off the deck? Lakeside single wide rollin dock for hanging out or temporarily tying up.

Yes, you can get to the water either off the roll-in (in the water all season) dock OR directly from the sand/rock beach. Nice. AND a fire ring on the beach for those evenings you want your smores.

RIVERSIDE FISHING PLATFORM AND DOCK/MANUAL LIFT
More? Yep. Our property extends from the lake to the river, and on the river... fishing platform and boat dock with manual lift! Got BOAT? Dump her in the water, and keep her on property, sheltered in the channel. So nice! The lift is setup for a fishing type boat, up to about 18' or so, and you can alternatively snug up a pontoon on the west side of the dock.

PLEASE let us know AHEAD OF ARRIVAL, directly communicating once booked, and ensure we have replied, that you will have a boat. You can't take a trailer to the cabin (trust me, not a fun thing), BUT we have easy options nearby, just coordinate! We send messages about this too, automagically, so be sure once booked you are receiving our direct communications.

Oh, and kiddos love to walk to the bridge at the bend in Ottertail River and tub back to the lake house (the current will take them to the front side of the cabin, in the lake, or pop off by the riverside dock platform. Repeat to exhaustion. The true brave at heart depart the bridge by jumping off! Fishing off the bridge is common too.

THINGS WE LOVE
So our first love is... chillin' on the lake, but.... things that we miss as soon as we leave include:

Williams Store. Bike ride to coffee (or drive...), smoothies, sandwiches, and more. This place is the best. Its a daily bike ride for my wife, kiddos and me. Plus the owners are super awesome! Say 'hi!' to Dan & Marnie.
Ottertail Fitness Garage. Workout? Ottertail has the Fitness Garage. Full facility, including cardio and free weights. Highly recommend!
Zorbaz. Pizza place RIGHT on Ottertail. Take a boat ride over, tie up there, or drive... or for the more adventuresome, its a doable, if longish, bike ride too!

And there is a lot of nearby golf, a smattering of stores and restaurants in Ottertail that are well worth a stop, and field trips to Perham and other areas are worth a half day or more. Just inquire. We know the area, love the area, happy to help you love it too!

Includes a dock to tie up floaties. bring your boat and use the public landing (remember to drain your boat before and after to avoid unwanted water life transferring!!) Enjoy the spacious water front area to relax or float or even catch a fish right off the dock!

The deck is perfect for viewing throughout the day and a bonfire pit (not during extreme drought fire hazards conditions, please check local weather/news before use). We are including firewood at no cost (near firepit). Grill is available for your use (please move away from side of house, any grilling done next to house is subject to fine replacing any melted/damaged siding)

Some highlights of our policy are the following:

• No smoking of any kind in cabin (include vaping, marijuana and cigarettes of any kind) If it is found that smoking has occurred inside the cabin it is a $100 fine and replacement of anything that is damaged.

• No Pets - If it has been found that pets are in the cabin it is a $200 fine for each pet.
• No guest overnight that are not a part of your original reservation group.
• No loading or unloading any watercraft (jet ski/boat etc. from rental property. There is a public landing that is to be used.

• Clean dishes and kitchen utensils after use.
• Do not turn AC below 70
• Do not grill next to side of house- move to edge of driveway and clean after use
• Do not leave fire pit unattended.

The kitchen- includes microwave, stove/oven, fridge with top loaded freezer. sink. coffee pot. toaster. blender. Keurig. cooking and eating utensils. There is no dishwasher so please use the sink and dish towels and drying rack.

Large counter space, storage and dining table for prepping and serving food. We do include paper napkins, 2 ice trays and salt and pepper to get you started. Anything you may need please bring with!

Nestled just off of Otter Tail Lake, with water access through the channel to the lake. Just blocks from the public access, drop your boat and leave it parked safely at the large dock in front of the cabin. The channel protects your boat from the wind and waves without having to pull it off the lake each time you want to use it. Enjoy fishing off of the dock, as well as cruising up and down the channel. Just hop in your boat and scoot on out into premier Otter Tail Lake. There is plenty of parking room for vehicles, snowmobiles and trailers.

The cabin features an open design kitchen and dining room. New kitchen appliances. Reverse osmosis installed for drinking water. Large dining table, and a living room area with a fire place and a 70" big screen TV. Enjoy the sunroom, or sit out around the campfire. Gas grill provided.

About the Area:
Located only a short distance from swimming areas, or take the boat out on the lake and anchor for a swim. Canoe/kayak/paddleboard rentals are available in the area (we do not supply these but they can be rented from nearby establishments).

Enjoy fine dining, a burger or a pizza just a few miles down the road. There is a local grocery store, a Dollar General, as well as a fresh produce farm in Ottertail. Is shopping your thing? Enjoy multiple craft stores right in Ottertail, as well as in Perham.

Head over to Thumper Pond Resort and enjoy the golf course and water park. Here on business? You can utilize their conference center as well. There are two other 18 hole golf courses within 15 miles. (Balmoral and Lakeside Golf Courses). Plus two 9 hole courses (Balmoral North and Oakwood).

Enjoy the International Turtle Races in Perham on summer Wednesday mornings - (you can bring your own turtle or borrow one at the races).

- "The cabin was superb, nicely decorated and laid out very well. Owners were responsive to a few questions we had and did their best to ensure we enjoyed our stay. They even made sure to return some pillows we left behind! The channel access was a different experience for us, but it did protect our boat from any bad weather and kept the wind down in the cabin area. Fishing wasn’t great, but that’s likely due to our inexperience and us being at a new lake. Overall a great stay and we highly recommend!"
