She loved sitting out on the deck in her dog bed sunning herself. The house was very clean and relaxing. We didn’t need to contact the owners because everything was already communicated. First time to the area and would highly recommend this property!!!" - "We stayed at Blue Stone Bluff for our 1st trip to the North Shore. The house was wonderful! The master bedroom has a HUGE closet and jacuzzi tub. I loved having plenty of space to unpack. The 2nd bedroom is small with little storage, but it worked just fine for us. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, pots/pans, utensils, and many kitchen staples such as cooking spray, salt/pepper/ coffee, other spices, etc. We often found flies and fruit flies in the kitchen. I understand bugs are common in the North Shore and this really didn't bother us, but I can see some people being upset about the bugs. We were diligent about keeping the doors or screens closed and keeping all food sealed. We also would have liked to have air conditioning in this house. I'm sure that's not a common feature in northern MN and I knew it was not available. The windows don't circulate well and all the doors/windows are easily accessed from the ground floor. We're from a big city and don't feel safe leaving doors/windows open at night or while we're gone. There were 2 fans provided that helped, but the house was warmer than I'd prefer. I'm used to A/C, so this may be no problem for others. There is a good size piece of yard for a dog. I couldn't see that in the pics, so I was pleasantly surprised. There is also a lovely fire pit area. Parking was easy. Overall we were very happy with this house and would highly recommend it for the layout, views, and cleanliness."

You will love being surrounded by beautiful trees on your scenic drive up the 1/2 mile driveway. When you reach the end of the road, you have arrived. The property is on a small private lake where you can enjoy fishing off the dock, lounging in the hammocks or boathouse, paddling around the island on a paddle board, kayak, canoe or enjoy a bonfire any time of the day. There are many 4-wheeler and snowmobile trails nearby if you choose to bring them along.

The winter months are great for ice fishing (bass and Northern Pike), snowmobiling, X-C Skiing, snowshoeing or biking on your Fat Bike. Groomed X-C ski trails near the loft are 10 minutes away. Spirit Mountain is a 30 minute drive for winter skiing, snowboarding and biking trails. Duluth has many beautiful mountain bike trails for all levels and have gorgeous scenery year round.

You will most certainly see loons, geese, deer, beavers, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes, Trumpeter Swans and eagles that surround the property. The loft above the garage is an inviting private Nordic hideaway with a cozy canopy bed, French press with provided coffee and the lake, sauna and boathouse are just a minutes walk.

The owners live on the property and may or may not be present during your stay, but will always respect your space.

The historic boathouse is a common space for guests to enjoy and it's located on the shore of our lake. Perfect for reading, getting out of the sun, having coffee, drinks or dining. It is not exclusive to the rental of the loft as the owners of the property may also be present and the geodesic dome in the woods is an additional rental in the summer months. The boathouse is open from May - October (although this depends on the weather). There is absolutely no overnight sleeping in the boathouse.

The Beaver Lodge is cleaned and disinfected between guest stays, which are usually two days or longer. Lots of wildlife and close to points of interest. Our property is remote, extremely clean, thoroughly disinfected, and ready for your stay. If you have any questions about the cabin or area, please don't hesitate to message us.

This approximate 1400 sq. ft. cabin is located on one of the largest privately owned parcels (over 700 acres) nestled in between Gooseberry State Park, Split Rock State Park, and Iona’s Beach Scientific and Natural Area. It is located less than 2 miles from Lake Superior off Highway 61, about 15-20 minutes from Two Harbors or Silver Bay. There is over 7 miles of undeveloped shoreline that include designated trout streams and tributaries that provide some of the highest quality habitat ratings of any stream in the Gooseberry River sub-watershed. There are several large beaver dams that provide habitat for a large variety of birds and wildlife. It also includes several types of wetlands, marshes, and forest communities that provide an abundance of diversity for a multitude of habitat for birds, large mammals, and aquatic wildlife. The ultra-private and secluded location is gated for ultimate privacy, quiet, and relaxation. To access all of this beauty is an extensive private network (literally miles) of periodically mowed trails between 8 and 20 feet wide for low impact use. The private trails cover a plethora of the property to access this remote wilderness for pleasure, exercise, or photography. If desired, Superior Hiking Trail access is located just 1 ½ miles down the driveway from the cabin.

Our cabin is off-grid, no internet, land line phone, or grid power, but has power supplied from solar and a generator that runs automatically when needed, which is not very often. In rare instances on the hottest summer days, the cabin has air conditioning when natural ventilation is just a little too uncomfortable. So even though it is off-grid, it has all of the basic modern amenities we enjoy; you really don’t know it is off-grid. Our cabin is completely furnished and supplied with everything you would need, other than food, to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. There is a large kitchen and living/dining area, 2 bedrooms downstairs, bathroom with shower, and a loft for a few extra guests. We have local tv and stereo for those days you just want to kick back or use on rainy days. We have a few movies and LP’s to watch and listen to. Cell phone service is available from AT&T and Verizon, but can be limited depending on the device (Apple, great service Android, limited service - both on Verizon). The kitchen has pots, pans, and an abundance of utensils available for all of your cooking and/or baking needs. We have a BBQ grill and everything needed to flip, poke, or grab for your grilling needs. All of this overlooking a beautiful stream you can see and hear right next to the cabin. On clear nights the stars and northern lights can be phenomenal to see as there isn't any light pollution for miles.

We enjoy this as our family cabin and hope that you will respect, enjoy, and care for it as much as we do. The cabin is meticulously cleaned after each stay, but we would greatly appreciate if you leave the cabin as you found it… clean. We are available for any questions or concerns and are happy to provide you with an informative summary of the cabin, amenities, or other information that would make your stay more satisfying.

Please consider the following before booking:

We do occasionally stop in to the cabin’s garage (located over 500 feet from the cabin with ample tree coverage for privacy) to perform maintenance on equipment, trails, or drop off some supplies. We will respect your privacy, but we still have to maintain the property when Mother Nature’s or our schedules allow.

This cabin is remote and has over 3 miles of forestry and private road. On occasion, with wet weather there can be some rutting in a couple of spots, so those with low clearance vehicles would be advised not to book this cabin. If you’re not sure, just contact us, we maintain the whole road. We will not be responsible for damage to your vehicle. Upon prior request and approval, we could transport you to the cabin in our vehicle or ATV.

Being an off-grid cabin supplied by solar/generator, please be conscious of electrical usage. Please shut off the lights to keep unnecessary usage to a minimum in order for us to keep our generation costs down and keep our footprint small.

The wildlife is wild here, and most of them are more afraid of you than you are of them, but remember, they are WILD and not domesticated! Yes, bears and other wildlife $h!t in the woods and occasionally on the driveway and yard. We also take every effort to minimize little critters from entering the buildings, we use traps and bait, but on rare occasions we do get a mouse or shrew. If you find this offensive, this isn’t the place for you.

Absolutely no ATV’s/UTV’s are allowed on the trail system; ATV’s/UTV’s must stay on your trailers if you bring them.

No coolers in the cabin. Coolers left in the enclosed porch for convenience must not leak. Any damage to the flooring will be charged accordingly.

We prefer you recycle as much as possible; this eliminates a lot of garbage. Being the cabin is so remote, we take care of the garbage. On extended stays, we will routinely stop by to pick it up.

There is no smoking indoors, including the porches or around the buildings. For those that do have a smoke, please do it outside and away from the buildings, and please dispose of your butts properly.

The cabin has a septic system that handles human wastes and toilet paper. Please do not flush anything else such as sanitary products or wipes; there is a trash receptacle in the bathroom for those items.

Absolutely no pets. Your terms of a responsible pet owner and mine may differ, and irresponsible owners and pets can cause thousands of dollars in damage. If a pet is found to be brought on the property, you will be required to leave immediately and the rental fee and deposit will be forfeited.

A fire-pit is available to use carefully and responsibly. There is kindling and fire wood for your use.

We do have limited outside chairs and seating on the deck, but for larger groups you may want to bring a few of your own.

No hunting or shooting firearms during your stay.

We understand that accidents happen. We ask that you please let us know when they do; we can probably fix them as effortlessly as possible, which also means better chances of having your full security deposit returned too.

Please refrain from entering any outbuildings on the property (garage, shed, or pole building).

With free private parking, the property is a 7-minute walk from Leif Erikson Park Beach and half a mile from Lakewalk Beach. Spirit Mountain is 8.9 miles away, and Ss William A Irvin Ore Boat Museum is a 19-minute walk from the apartment. Rooms are equipped with a private bathroom, while certain rooms also offer a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Popular points of interest near the apartment include Duluth Canal Park, Aerial Lift Bridge, and Canal Park Square. Duluth International Airport is 6.2 miles from the property.

VACATION RENTAL HOUSE RULES

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) All Guests (and any Visitors) must comply with all House Rules and any other instructions from the Property Manager during their stay; and b) Guests must notify the Property Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbors as soon as reasonably practicable.

2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD a) This Vacation Rental is suitable for children of all ages! Guests are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other residents in the Neighborhood; b) Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure; c) Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the Security Deposit;

3. VISITORS a) Guests are allowed a maximum of 4 visitors at any time during their stay. b) Guests are responsible for ensuring maximum visitor numbers are not exceeded; and that visitors are complicit with these House Rules.

4. FUNCTIONS a) Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Vacation Rental; and b) Any small gathering must comply with other rules set regarding Noise, the Neighborhood and Visitor numbers.

5. PARKING a) Guests and any visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out by the property manger and show consideration to neighbors and other vehicles; please use the designated parking.

6. SECURITY a) Any time Guests leave the Vacation Rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. b) Guests must switch off the lights, air conditioning, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving.

7. SMOKING a) Smoking is not permitted inside or outside of this vacation rental ;Failure to follow this guideline will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

8. PETS a) Pets are not permitted in this rental.

9. DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES a) All Damages and Breakages must be reported to the Property Manager as soon as reasonably practicable. Failure to report them will likely result in a penalty deduction from the security deposit. And; b) To avoid Damages and Breakages, no furniture is to be moved from one room to another without prior agreement.

10. CHECK OUT ARRANGEMENTS a) Please be sure to lock all doors and leave both sets of keys back in the lockbox. Check out is at 10am - if you need a later checkout please contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements.

Beautiful Lake Cabin on private Smith/Little Pequaywan Lake on a 4-acre mostly wooded lot with old growth pines and plenty of parking.
100% remodeled 2 bedroom/1 bath cabin that sleeps 6. Everything in our 900+ square foot cabin is brand new and ready for your enjoyment.
The floor plan is a completely open concept with a fully equipped kitchen with island and peninsula overlooking the lake.
Included with cabin rental are kayaks/canoe/paddle boats ~ all the toys you need to enjoy the lake. The beach area is mostly sand/gravel bottom and very clean, perfect for the kids or that morning swim to start your day. Life jackets available from toddlers to adults.
We also have an 18’ pontoon boat with 4-stroke motor available on a limited basis and is $250 per day or $1000 per week – gas included. Smith and Little Pequaywan Lake are both private lakes so we cannot allow any launching of boats. Fishing is very good from the dock for panfish, bass, perch, and Northern pike. Because of the clarity of the lakes, walleyes are usually best caught at low light or on overcast days. The submerged islands are usually a good bet. Fishing gear is available free of charge for all skill levels. If needed, just let us know in advance what you need. If trout fishing is your thing, there are a few local trout lakes that are great fishing, just ask your host for locations and fishing tips.
Finish your day with a peaceful evening around the fire ring. Listen to calling loons while watching the sunset over the lake to the West. There's nothing better!
Your secluded lake life hideaway is just 30 minutes away from Two Harbors and access to Scenic Highway 61 and the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior. 40 minutes from Duluth’s Miller Hill Mall, 45 Minutes from Duluth’s Canal Park. Country living with easy access to shopping and Duluth tourist attractions.
All seasons are great around the Pequaywan Lakes area. Winter provides miles of snow shoeing, cross country skiing and excellent ice fishing. Summer provides great opportunities for swimming, hiking, fishing and lake life relaxation. Fall is a great time for hunting enthusiasts, the Cloquet Valley Forest offers some of the best grouse hunting territory in the state. There are miles of hiking and biking trails, including the Superior Hiking trail right down the road. Take in the amazing fall colors that rival the North Shore, without the traffic!
We have wi-fi, internet and TV. Your AT&T cell phone will work in our area, but some other providers have limited service.
Find food and drink just down the road at the Pequaywan Inn. A quaint little restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hugo's Bar and Convenience Store is just a few miles away, offering beer, setups, and a limited menu. Hugo’s is also your best bet for basic essentials like bait, gas, propane, fishing license and groceries.

The hot tub was great and there's lots of deck/patio spaces to gather outside. Additionally, the inside was great for socializing and a large kitchen which was the hub of everything." - "Fantastic property with lots of amenities, but given my wife and friends were only there for an overnight stay, we weren’t able to take advantage of everything this place has to offer. The three levels were open and spacious with nice views of the lake (except for the basement). The main floor was spacious with a great sized kitchen to make meals and all sorts of different appliances, cookware and spices. There’s also a nice dining table and living area. The main floor also features one bedroom with a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom that also acts as guest bathroom. There’s a walkout to an outdoor bar height table and chairs, the grill, new large fire ring and hot tub. The yard is currently being grown, with a path and stairs that lead to a dock on the lake. The second floor hosts two equal sized bedrooms with king sized beds, a shared bathroom and open space that leads out to a massive deck with a wonderful view of the lake. There’s a large outdoor sectional with a gas fire table and another bar height table with chairs. The tall overhanging roofline helps shade the afternoon sun as well as some light rain. We didn’t hang out much downstairs but there is a foosball table, a seating area with a large TV. There are large TVs on each floor. In the garage, there are a couple of kayaks, folding chairs, and cornhole. There were a few little issues, but the host was amazing to work with. Irving Park is a sweet park within the neighborhood that is walking distance from the house. There are also sweet shops, restaurants and cocktail bars nearby in the west Duluth area as well! Bailey Builds shop, Shake-It juice + smoothie bar, Zenith Bookstore, The West Movie Theatre, Wussow's Concert Cafe, The Jade Fountain and Boreal House are a few of our some of our favorite West Duluth spots.

The space
Our home was built in the early 1900's for working class Duluthians -- one hundred years ago, the working class lived in small homes with small rooms -- we rent out the guest rooms in our humble home as an affordable lodging alternative to the tradition hotels in Duluth. our goal is to provide a small room for folks who want to enjoy Duluth without the cost of hotel stays.

The guest rooms are on the main floor of our home right next to the bathroom--which is shared with one other small guest room . We've stocked the guest room with extra pillows, blankets and a mini-fridge so those items are at your fingertips if desired. You are welcome to access the kitchen for microwave, water & ice. Additional kitchen use is available upon request only. Due to COVID concerns, we ask guests to limit time spent in shared spaces to minimize risk.

Guest access
Please be sure you are coming to the correct house at check-in. We have wonderful neighbors, but they do ask that our guests do not knock on their doors looking for our home.

Free on-street parking is plentiful with easy access to our front door. All guest spaces are located in the front of the house on the main floor.

We are flexible with check-in but do ask for guests to provide an ETA. If you plan to arrive prior to 6pm, please let us know the day before as we need to coordinate around our work schedules to ensure the spaces are cleaned and ready. On weekends we prefer check-out by 1100am

Cameras are located on the property at front door, front yard n garage.

During your stay
Guests are renting the guest room and bath with limited kitchen use for water, utensils, etc.

Check-in can generally be anytime after 3pm, but if you plan to arrive before 6 pm, please let us know the day before - or at least 2 hours before you arrive.

Due to COVID concerns and Air B&B requirements, MASKS ARE REQUIRED when you r in any space with individuals outside of your group

I include the following, only because we've had issues in the past and we don't want any confusion moving forward. We do not allow the following in our home, on or near our property:
*smoking or tobacco use (we ask that smoking guests do so in their vehicles).
*illegal drugs of any kind
*weapons of any kind; regardless of a guests license to carry.

Other things to note
We do owns cats. they are shy and may not greet you during your stay, but they do roam the house periodically.

Check in time can be as early as 3:00 pm, however, if you'll be arriving before 6:00 pm, please provide us with at least 1 day's notice to ensure everything is ready for you.

We do require a 2-night stay (or pay for 2-nights) for summer weekend stays. We MAY accept shorter stays when requests are the week prior to the weekend requested.

We absolutely want all of our guests to feel comfortable during your stay, but ask that you respect no food, feet or beverages on the light colored sofa in the living room.

In the event items are left behind and guests wish to have it mailed back, please note that we will assess the cost of postage + $5. Items are usually brought to the post office for return within 5 days of request, but this cannot be guaranteed to due hosts work schedules.

For an affordable stay in Duluth, get cozy in our 1985 Rockwood Campervan. Located just 20 minutes from Two Harbors and Duluth, this location will get you away from the city and under the stars. Amenities are limited, but include non-drinking running water, propane-fired stove, mini fridge, full electric set-up, and a toilet. This cozy space is nestled on our private residential property with your privacy respected. Please note that this 1985 does not have A/C or heat! Let the adventure begin!

This 1985 Rockwood camper is located alongside the garage on our 4 acre residential lot. You will have access to the camper and a sitting area tucked into the edge of the property line for your privacy. This sitting area is equipped with a fire pit. Wood will be provided for a small fee.

Other things to note
The camper is in a very wooded area up the shore of Northern Mn. Depending on your cell phone provider, cellular reception may be limited. WiFi service is provided but depending on your provider and weather conditions this may be limited as well. Visiting the cozy camper is recommended for those who truly looking for an opportunity to unplug.

With a view of Lake Superior and Duluth's harbor, SUMMERHILL is full of color and light. 5-blocks straight up from downtown and Canal Park. Park on the street right in front of the house, or park off-street in the alley behind the house. On city bus routes. Safe and friendly, this is a quiet house and probably not a good fit for people who want a livelier, party atmosphere. The owner, a senior citizen, resides in an adjacent apartment.

Guests have two entire floors to themselves: On the ground floor there's a kitchen, a half bathroom, and a very large dining/living room with a view of the harbor, and access to the deck.
The bedroom is on the upper floor -- it also has a view of the harbor --, a full bath and a laundry room.
The owner has her own apartment below the ground floor and its entrance is at the rear of the house.

I have decided to share this beautiful, old house. The woodwork has remained original, the floors have been redone. It's creaky, there are stairs and radiant heat in winter. It's 7 blocks up from Lake Superior. The bus line stops in front of the house and downtown Duluth is just shy of 2 miles. There are coffee shops nearby and a few restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom and kitchen are shared spaces with me. Please remove shoes upon entering.

The space
Currently, one bedroom is available. I have another bedroom that can be used but it will probably cost extra. I haven't figured that out yet. It is up another flight of stairs with no bathroom. The kitchen is also shared. I have a french press coffee maker and a Mr Coffee coffee maker. The oven/stove is gas and there is no dishwasher or microwave....at this point.

Cute room in 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house for rent. I live here with my 2 dogs, they are very friendly and love people. It would just be us 2 sharing the space, and it has a security system! It has a firepit, dishwasher, deck with patio furniture, fenced in yard, free laundry in the basement, and I provide a portable A/C unit for your bedroom during the summer months. The bedroom has a full sized bed, TV with a firestick, desk, and a dresser.

Country setting, close to the Lake Superior hiking trail, cross country ski trails and the state snowmobile trail. 10 minutes to the shores of Lake Superior, 20 minutes to Duluth or 15 minutes to Two Harbors with activities for all ages. You are welcome to enjoy our deck , the fire pit or wander the yard, while you sipping your favorite beverage. Your room has a flatscreen TV and there is high speed internet access. Cell phone service is available thru the WiFi.

There are stairs both inside and outside. There will be a coffee pot on in the morning. Breakfast is not included.

You are welcome to use The kitchen, laundry room, common areas and the deck. There are 2 1/2 acres of yard with fire pit you are welcome to wander and enjoy.

Other things to note
There is a small boarding kennel on the premises. This is my job. If you would like to board your pet while staying with us, it is based on availability. Being small as far as a kennel, I recommended making reservations early. You would be required to conform with kennel requirements....including documentation of rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations. This policy is firm. Please note we also have a 2 family dogs, Marley and Bitsy. Both are gentle souls and very sweet. There are no restaurants that deliver to where we are located.☹️ Lastly, PLEASE do not leave your children unattended. If you are going to leave the property you must take your children with you. Forest's Edge, perfectly poised for mountain biking and hiking. Enjoy simple pleasures in this peaceful den, right next to Hartley Park's multi-use Naymark Trail. Access hiking and biking right outside or take a short drive to more of Duluth's best parks. Relax in your private bedroom and bathroom, and adjacent den/living room. My partner and I live in a different wing of the house. It's a quiet home with no pets.

The space
Our home is located on a few wooded acres in a quiet neighborhood, uphill from Lake Superior. The Naymark Trail, a multi-use trail for hiking and mountain biking in Hartley Park, begins just past our driveway. The house is a modern single family home with a unique layout.

The residents (myself and my partner) have a bedroom, bathroom, and living room in a different wing of the house from the guest spaces. You'll have a bedroom, bathroom, and den/living room to yourself.

We have viewed the aurora (Northern Lights) from our driveway, although the best views are outside of town. There are no pets on the property, however, wildlife sightings are common.
