I grew up in Minnesota and always wanted to renovate a historic home. My parents and I designed The Nightingale to retain its original 1920s charm while being as accommodating as possible for modern lifestyles.

*****Please note: the basement has a separate entrance on the side of the house that I keep as an apartment for myself. Although I travel most of the year when I'm on the property, my priority is the comfort and peace of the guests— the top three floors and the yard are all yours. If I'm around, you may see me tending to the yard or shoveling the sidewalks.

When you use your personal code to enter through the back door, you will find a redesigned powder room and updated kitchen with everything you need to cook and entertain a group of up to ten. The living room has hardwood floors and a plush sectional with a 75-inch Roku HDTV—perfect for a family holiday or watching the big game.

The three main bedrooms are on the second floor, and a modern chandelier showcases the wood banister as you walk upstairs. In the primary bedroom, we have a king-sized memory foam mattress with a dedicated workspace for one and a 65-inch Roku HDTV. The two secondary bedrooms are nested with one entrance from the hallway and have queen-sized beds.

Also, on the second floor is a spacious bathroom with a porcelain tub and a separate milk-house block glass shower that is magnificent in the morning sun.

On the third floor (The Crows Nest) is another dedicated workspace and a separate bedroom with a queen-sized memory foam bed, a gigantic foam beanbag chair, and a 40-inch Roku HDTV. This is my favorite room in the house—perfect for kids who want to play video games or watch movies.

We also have a stunning three-season porch, in-unit washer/dryer, and 8 brand-new Pickleball courts nearby.

We hope you feel like you’re in an oasis at our open and spacious home - located 5 minutes from the MOA, airport and downtown MPLS + St. Paul

The home is spread across 2 levels, we have 3 bedrooms on our first level and 1 large master bedroom with attached bath on our lower level. Our main living room is connected to our open concept kitchen and dining space, perfect for gathering with friends. We have another family game room on our lower level that is equipped with a smart TV, games, shuffleboard and bar area.

Our kitchen is newly remodeled and comes with a wine fridge to store your beverages at the perfect temp! We provide coffee and tea for our guests as well :)

Enjoy our private large fenced in backyard and spacious outdoor deck with a grill and patio seating. We love spending time out there during the warm summer months!

Each room has a memory foam queen mattress ( we get tons of compliments on them! ), bed side tables, reading lamps and closets. We provide essential toiletries like shampoo, conditioner and body wash. A hair dryer can be found in each bathroom vanity.

I call my home "Ginger Bug House" It is just minutes from the airport, Mall of America and both downtowns! There is No cleaning Fee if house rules are followed. Guest access
The suite is entirely yours. There is a separate, soon-to-be dining room and a storage room on the same level. You'll have a side door entrance, and your suite door will be directly to the right at the bottom of the stairs. We request access to the furnace room in the unlikely event that it's needed, but only with your permission first. You are welcome to use the large deck with a hammock, lounge, table and chairs, and our large, tree canopied back yard.

Other things to note
All the suite's floors are ceramic tile.

Note that as the suite is in the lower level of the house, there are 15 uncarpeted steps to go down and up, with a standard railing. There are 3 steps to climb from the street to the front sidewalk, and 2 to the outside door to the suit, with no railing.

We have a large black lab mix named Loki. He has never been in the lower level where your suite will be, and is always closely supervised and cleaned up after, in the backyard. Loki is very gentle and affectionate. He occasionally barks, but we respond immediately.

We love kids, and while the suite is ideal for people without kids, we are also excited for it to be kid friendly: removable locks on the drawers to the bed, kids’ dinner ware, toys, books, a baby bath tub, and a very portable high chair you can borrow for restaurant visits and an umbrella stroller for outings. Our outlets are kid safe. We have a Cosco pinch-safe table and chairs for eating and play.

The private entrance on the side of the house leads to a full basement that includes 2 sleeping areas, a dining area and galley area. 3/4 bathroom with a shower. Other things to note
My husband and I live on the property, so you will be able to hear us as we have wood floors. The ceiling is lower the smaller room. The bathroom is small. Security cameras outside and smoking is not allowed anywhere! No smoking here, no smoking there, there is NO smoking ANYWHERE on or around the premises. If you smoke, don't stay here!

Our ‘Cottage’ is a quaint and cozy living space perfect for a stay with 2-4 guests. The three-season porch is a nice bonus to enjoy the Spring and Summer weather. The home also underwent a recent bathroom renovation in February 2025.
