Enjoy spectacular views of the Mill Pond and Penman Peak from our Graeagle Meadows townhome, right on Graeagle Creek, a year-round stream. There is something for everyone here – fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, golf (5 gorgeous 18 hole courses and two 9 hole courses), cycling, mountain biking, swimming, gold panning, wine tasting, a brewery, and ranger talks/camp fires at nearby Plumas Eureka state park. Then again, you can just sit on the deck and relax to the peaceful sound of the creek, watching the osprey and occasional eagle catch their dinner in the pond.

We have decorated our home in a “contemporary rustic” style. The master is upstairs and features a Cal King bed and a gorgeous view of Penman Peak and the Mill Pond. The downstairs bedroom features a queen bed and “live edge” cedar and beetle-kill pine furniture custom made by an artisan in Seattle. There is also a half bedroom upstairs we call the “bear’s den”, which has a twin bed with a pull-out trundle underneath. Legally it is a bedroom, but it has no windows and is very small. We recommend this room for children only.

The living room, dining area and deck all face the Mill Pond and Penman Peak. There simply is no better spot to watch the fireworks over the pond!! The deck has comfortable outdoor furniture and a dining table that seats four so you can enjoy al fresco dining on the pond. A gas barbeque sits around the corner of the deck out of view.

The living room has a modern, leather reclining sofa, large hi-def flat screen LED TV, blue ray player, and a desk. The dining room has a custom live edge willow table and seats six comfortably. There is a small but fully equipped kitchen. Both bedrooms and the living room have iPod players.

There are numerous restaurants in the area to satisfy foodies and fans of “down home cooking” alike. Walk to town, which features various community festivals, wine tasting, quaint shops, a grocery store, candy stores, frosties, etc. At the Mill Pond you can rent paddle boats, paddle boards, and kayaks for playing in the pond.

We are offering select guests a chance to stay at this comfortable and well appointed house. This house also serves as our personal vacation home, and as such it is in much better condition and is better equipped than many other rental homes in the area. For now, we have chosen to rent it when we are not able to use it ourselves. The home includes a relaxing great room with wet bar, large dining area and recently remodeled kitchen with new appliances. In early 2024 we totally renovated and updated both bathrooms and upgraded all interior doors. Fiber optic Internet and WiFi included. Tesla adapter provided to allow charging on 30 amp dryer circuit. Our guests rave about relaxing on our large back deck featuring a large private tree-filled fenced back yard. It is the perfect place to enjoy the hammock or let dogs romp freely and securely.

About half of our guests are repeat visitors from prior years. This is a great place to enjoy all that Graeagle and the surrounding area has to offer including several quality golf courses, hiking, fishing, boating and a surprising selection of wonderful restaurants.

Please note that we offer the most liberal cancellation policy allowed by the HomeAway platform. We do this because we know from our own travel experiences that unforeseen circumstances can affect even well made plans. However, those abusing this privilege by cancelling close to the rental date without good reason will not be allowed to rebook our home in the future.

This delightful cabin was built in the 1920’s and has a peaceful nostalgic ambiance; with its knotty pine paneling, it is truly a taste of a bygone era! We have named this cabin "Little Feather," and is one of a cluster of five cabins that were part of the Penman Peak Lumber Company established in 1925, which was a small working lumber mill until the mid 1940’s.

The cabins are part of University of Earth and the Lost Sierra Retreat Center. All the cabins are within walking distance of the National Wild and Scenic Middle Fork of the Feather River, which winds through our 40 acres. Stellar views of the Feather River, along with Sierra sunsets and moonlit nights, can be seen from the private back deck and riverside bedroom, along with many wonderful places to view the mountain peaks, Feather River and the local wildlife.

Located along scenic Highway 70, the Retreat Center and land is surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land and to add a nostalgic reminder of our industrial age in transition, and to the delight of many of our guests, the Western Pacific railway snakes along the river the length of the property.

Wander our many trails which offer both seclusion and stunning views. Swim in the healing waters of the "Medicine River." Our enchanting riverside sitting areas and hammocks make our retreat center just what the doctor ordered.

Our Nature Sabbaticals offer a unique opportunity in a truly magical setting for our guests to unplug and let nature become the healer and teacher. If you can, our suggested stay is three nights or longer in order to truly allow nature to have its way with you. For those so inclined, each of the cabins have suggested nature immersion activities and ecotherapy practices scientifically validated to promote healing, wholeness and enhanced creativity. Examples are walking barefoot on the delightful riverside sands and enjoying the health benefits of grounding while forest bathing.

Guests have access to most of the 40 acres, river sites and common areas. The river sites have Adirondack chairs and hammocks, and one site has a firepit (used as season/fire restrictions allow). The river may be accessed by an intermediate trail from the cabin area, or unpaved road (seasonally).

There can be an occasional train; there is no set schedule. Most guests enjoy it!

We have a "No Shoe" rule at the cabins. So, rock your sox - or slippers!!

We live on the property so are available to assist if needed, along with our staff.

This is a cozy, fully-furnished cabin that offers stunning views of the pine forest, and sits on the 9th fairway at Grizzly Ranch Golf Club. This cabin has a luxurious interior living space with an open concept - prepare a meal in the kitchen while connecting with guests in the great room. Or relax in one of the multiple chairs on the rear wraparound private porch. The bedrooms are very spacious, each with their own in-suite bathrooms with double vanities.
