- "Very nice lake house in a fantastic location." - "This is a beautiful place. We really enjoy the birds. If you come here, be sure you bring either a telescope or some thing to help you look at the birds on the water. We saw several species and enjoyed them quite a bit even though the lake was down the house has kayaks and grandkids enjoy the kayaks and we fished off the pier next-door. Owner was accommodating when i had to stay longer than expected due to a medical emergency."

- "I stayed during the off season so it was very quiet and peaceful. It is not water front property, but there is only a neighborhood park and street between the house and lake providing easy access to the shore. The house was comfortable and well equipped with everything I needed for my stay." - "Friends, I just have to take a minute and tell you what a wonderful person and host Katherine was to my family. The short story is that my elderly mother, who lives nearby in the Coldspring’s area, had a tree fall on her house a few Sundays ago. She was not hurt, and friends came to help cover the roof, but the house was not livable due to water and power being knocked out in the storm. My mom uses a wheelchair or walker and has a nurse that provides care 5 days a week, so getting her somewhere comfortable was a priority. I found the cabin on VRBO and made a reservation. I contacted Katherine and explained the situation. I'm getting a little emotional even now, thinking about how Katherine immediately responded, offered to help, asked about my Mom, and provided accommodations to help get her comfortable as soon as possible. My deepest thanks to Katherine for all she did. In addition, the cabin is wonderful! Peaceful, yet close to the lake and activities. Huge windows to look out toward the trees and water. We were even surprised as herds of deer would walk by the patio as the sun would start to set, and Katherine responded with "Oh, yeah. There is some deer feed by the door" because this is such a common event. So, if you get the chance, don't pass up the opportunity to experience this get-away by Lake Livingston and enjoy the tranquility of East Texas. Charlie"

- "Sketchy checking in, no one is ever at the front they leave a list of numbers to text for help, it’s like someone living there managing the place with babies and kids everywhere. Room was already booked so they had to give us a different room with less features. They do not clean your room multiple night stays, they don’t issue more towels, I’m a big girl and we were denied. The room smelled strongly of some kind of fume smell there were bugs on the floor and they also say you have to supply your own toilet paper. Checking out we reached out through the text messages listed in the window because no one is ever at the front. I get a message over an hour later saying to never text this number again. When all my husband and I were doing was trying to check out. As I tell them have a blessed day they repeatedly again to text my personal number to engage in some kind of argument. When all we needed was help turning in the keys. The door was so beaten down you can see people walking by through the door. The floors were sticky. It was an uncomfortable stay. Checking in they didn’t even verify my id or card for purchase just took a picture of my reservation in the app and that was it."

When we were inside there were plenty of things to keep both the kids and adults entertained. The owners were super responsive when we had questions and very accommodating. This was probably one of the best rentals we have done on VRBO and will definitely be a repeat renter." - "We had a wonderful stay at That Lake House. Our three adult children and their husbands as well as two grandchildren joined us for a weekend of play on the lake. We booked Friday night thru Sunday night and our children stayed until Monday morning and left for work in Houston from there. Stephen made the check in process easy and seamless. We were greeted with a beautiful view of the lake and a quaint home. The living room, kitchen and dining room are designed in such a way that allows for a group to be in the same space in a cozy fun way. The kitchen was stocked with necessities and made cooking for the group easy. Plenty of pots, pans, spices, etc. The bedrooms were comfortable. We utilized the sofa couch which could use a mattress topper to improve comfort for adults..it’s likely fine if children are sleeping on it. All other beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. We have our boat on the lake and went to get it each day for fun on the lake with the family. We were able to borrow the lily pad float and hang on the water as a family Sunday night as the sun set. The house has plenty of games. Although we didn’t use them, lots to choose from should you encounter bad weather etc. The game room in the garage is not air conditioned but would be great to access in the cooler weather. A newly installed video game machine with Pac-Man was a fun addition!! Had a great time and made amazing memories with the family!!"

Enjoy our 4 bed, 2 full bath 1880 Sqft mid-century modern lakehouse with beautiful lakeview from the front and at 100 steps from the back deck to the lively Cape Royale marina. Optional fee for access to the community pool, $90/family for 7 days, need 6 days notice and the names of up to 6 adults. The lakehouse is equipped with WIFI, wood fired stove (BYO wood), good beds and mattresses and a nice deck under the trees at the back of the house. Fully equipped remodeled kitchen with supply of coffee, tea, sugar, salt, ketchup, mustard and BBQ sauce. Bed linens and towels provided. Kids toys, booster seat, video and DVD library. Private parking for four cars or three cars + boat trailer. Bring your boat (Cape Royale charges a $20 fee, I believe) and fishing gear. Alternatively, I can take max. 6 persons out in our boat, for a fee and subject to weather and my availability. Fishing dock and three boat ramps are nearby at the marina. Cape Royale has basketball courts, beach volleyball, nature trail, playground and lakefront parks and is child friendly. Optional fee for access to the community pool: $90/family for 7 days, we need 6 days notice and the names of up to 6 adults for registration with the POA.

You will be on lake time from the minute you arrive and can enjoy gorgeous sunsets in the evenings. Located on the south end of Lake Livingston with lots of open water. The 3 bedroom house has 2-queen beds and one set of bunk beds with pull out trundle plus a twin blow up bed and one on the couch. There are 1 full bathroom plus a 1/2 bath. The open floor plan is great for entertaining with a beautiful view of the lake and magnificent sunsets. A large porch faces the water for extra entertaining with ceiling fans for a cool breeze. Kitchen table seats 6 and 2 barstools at the island plus a picnic table on the porch with extra chairs. There is central a/c and heat, washer & dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and pots & pans. Bring food, drinks, paper goods, and sunscreen. The property has over a 100' bulkhead with an 8' sidewalk along the water's edge. Easy access to the water for swimming from the boathouse by a ladder. The ladder is at angle so it's easy to climb up or go down. For night fishing off boathouse there is an underwater light. There is a community boat ramp nearby or there is a public boat ramp about 3 miles away at Browder's.

- "Very easy check in and check out" - "Went with family and had a wonderful vacation here! The house was equipped with basically everything we needed. I now know not to pack so much next time and that will cut my pre-trip packing time in half. :) The house was clean and well maintained. High speed Internet TV was non glitchy and great! The boat dock was well lit for night fishing. Matter of fact, the entire property had flood lights so that we never had to light up a single lantern. We launched our paddle boat at their community boat launch. The entire property is on a steep slope so if you have mobility issues be very careful. I think I lost 10 pounds going up and down from the house to the dock which is good for me because I definately needed the exercise! Haha! They have a huge round swing hanging from their tree that my kids loved so much that I just ordered one from Amazon for our own tree at home! Charles (the owner next door) was awesome in helping us the entire time including the use of their fish cleaning station on their personal dock so that we could clean and filet our fresh caught catfish each night. They have 2 ladders and a swing rope on the dock. My teens loved swimming back and forth from the boat launch to the dock. This place was an excellent experience! We will definately be back! Come visit our spacious remodeled lakefront home located in a quiet gated community in West Livingston. With 3 large bedrooms plus 3 additional beds upstairs in the loft, our home is set up perfectly for an extended family, two families, or multiple couples. Each of the three large bedrooms have new King size mattresses and the loft has two new twin beds and a queen size day bed to sleep three more. Each of the three bathrooms have been recently remodeled with new tile and showers and a small luxurious tub in the master bedroom. We have a new 65” LED TV in the living room and new TVs in each bedroom with cable TV. High speed internet is available at the house with Wifi accessible from the entire property.
Our home sits on a one-acre lot with the lake bordering two sides of the property. With nearly 400ft of bulkhead surrounding the property there are spectacular views and places to fish or watch the birds and squirrels. Pine trees are found throughout the property which provide shade in the summer and color in the winter. From the back porch you can watch the sun rise over the lake and horizon and from the front porch and sun deck you can see beautiful sunsets.
In the backyard we have a boathouse with two powered lifts with straps to keep a boat if you bring or rent one with a patio on top to relax and catch amazing views and nice breezes. We have four kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard you are free to use and our protected location on the lake allows for calm water much of the year. The lake forms an inlet on the side of our property with shallower water and a sandy bottom which makes for a great swimming area.
The area near our home is well known for catfish and white bass fishing. We are located very close to Penwaugh marina for easy access to fuel and the boat launch.
We are located only about 10 minutes from stores and restaurants in both Livingston and Onalaska. We are close to Lake Livingston state park. We are also a short drive to Big Thicket National Preserve and the Sam Houston National forest for hiking trails and recreation.
Please note that there is an older couple that live in our detached garage apartment in the front of the property and help manage the yard and minor house maintenance.

The neighborhood is very quiet and is private. We enjoyed swimming during the day (there’s a lake ladder) and making s’mores at night on the fire pit. The property has beautiful trees and they provide plenty of shade as well. The beds are very comfortable and kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped w everything we needed. Jack was great and let us know we could reach out to him if we needed anything. Also Joy is very easy to reach and provided us with restaurant recommendations since we were new to the area. Definitely recommend this place and we cannot wait to go back!"

- "Just Amazing !" - "We rented the treehouse for my husbands birthday with friends! There was so much to do! We were never bored! The owner was always quick to respond when needed so that was nice! In our opinion there was too much decor especially at toddlers height and in inconvenient spots where there was no space to put anything like the dining table and kitchen and no where to put it awayzz but that’s just an observation. We enjoyed everything there was to offer and we’ve already talked about going back! Definitely recommend with a big group! It was so peaceful!"
