A stunning wood-burning fireplace surrounded by magnificent stonework is the highlight of this already beautiful space. Adjacent to the living area lies the dining area, where you can bring the whole family together around a charming wood table for a gourmet meal. The first floor also hosts an expansive family room with a large sectional sofa and an 85” flat screen TV. The family room also has a ping pong table for competitive family fun!

THE LOCATION
With a 135+ private acres and beautiful Bolt Lake as your backyard, you may never want to step foot off the property! Bolt Lake is part of the Gang of Lakes, which allows you to explore 4 additional lakes via connecting channels. The lakes are great fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill, sunfish, catfish and pike. The property is also bordered by Rice Creek and has additional frontage on Gordan Lake and another small pond.
The property is just North of the city of Albion (home to Albion College) and is a quick 15 minute drive from the cute town of Marshall or the city of Jackson. It is also less than an hour drive from both East Lansing and Ann Arbor, making it a great option for college football weekends.
A fast 20 drive will take you to Firekeeper’s Casino in Battlecreek where you can enjoy over 2,900 slot machines, 70 table games and a 14-table non-smoking poker room in addition to numerous tasty dining options.

The area also offers the opportunity for golf, wine tasting, u-pick farm, short drive to Duck Lake and countless other activities.

Lyon Lake is a private lake (100 homes) covering around 200 acres. There is no public access.

Easy to find and easy to get to other places from. Just two miles from I69 exit 32. Half way between Chicago and Detroit. Historic Marshall is only 5 miles away. Marshall has pretty much all the civilization you would want: antiques, restaurants, groceries, movie theater, bowling, museums, ice cream shops . . .

Need a secluded getaway? Our off-grid cabin is on approximately 10 acres of private woods.

The cabin has a queen bed in the loft and two cots that can accommodate more guests. Guests must be able to climb a wooden log ladder.

The kitchen has a two burner stove and oven that can hold a 9x13 pan. Although we do not have running water, we do have a hand washing sink as well as a sink for washing dishes. We also provide you with plenty of water for your stay. We also have dishes, utensils, hot dog sticks, fry pie makers, pots and pans, a tripod grill for over the fire and a small charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal).

Outside, we have a fire pit, wood to collect or for purchase and a hammock to fully enjoy your stay. Our bathroom is an outhouse and has been described as the “cleanest outhouse in Michigan.” Our latest addition is a rustic outdoor shower! We provide water which is heated by solar power (or you can heat some on the stove to hurry the process!)

Within 1/4 mile is the St. Joe River which is a great place for kayaking. We also have kayaks and quads for rent. We also have some short trails on the property and a rail road bed adjacent to the cabin area.

Our cabin is powered by a small and very quiet Honda generator. It is super easy to start. The cabin’s main source of heat is a wood stove with wood we provide. An air conditioner is provided for the summer.

More than two people will be an additional $10 per night per person.

We cooked dinner on the cast iron and outdoor fire pit tools and had a wonderful meal. You're close enough to the town (less than 15 min) but when you're at the cabin, it feels secluded and VERY private. We loved trying the outdoor shower (a first for us!) And the outhouse felt like an actual bathroom behind the cabin. Very clean, comfortable. Overall this was amazing. We're already think ahead to when we can try to come back. If you're on the fence, just book. You won't regret it!"

This spacious 5 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home is great for large families as it has plenty of room both inside and outside and sleeps 20 with beds for 17. It is centrally located to many attractions such as Firekeepers Casino and Kellogg Arena. Easy interstate access makes it a quick trip to all the attractions of Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids too! This beautiful century old home with a grand piano and many antiques. Have fun discovering all of the unique features and hiding places this home offers!
The space
This century old home has 3 living levels and a basement. This is a home that was built in the 1920's, so it has amazing character. There are many doors, stairs, hideaways, antiques and unique features. There is 1 full bath with shower, and another bath with a tiny clawfoot tub as well as the half bath on the main floor. There are mirrors in all bedrooms to assist guests in getting ready.

Guests will have access to the entire home other than the garage and locked owners closets and storage.
Other things to note
Please note there is only 1 bath with a full shower and tub. The other clawfoot tub has a handheld shower sprayer.

My dad was able to do a bit of fishing and we also got to enjoy the bonfire on one night. The only thing that would have made the stay more enjoyable would be to have folding chairs in the laundry room since we love to play board games. - This studio apartment does not have a dishwasher so all pots/pans/plates/utensils need to be washed by hand.
- During the fall semester, noise from sporting events at Battle Creek Central High can be heard. Football games end at 10pm on Friday nights, and if there are any Saturday games, that can commence starting around 9am.

- A total of 4 vehicles can park comfortably on the property.
- 2 vehicles can park in the open garage, and 2 next to the house (parking map provided upon check in)
- Any extra vehicles can be parked on the street for free

- "Loved this place. It's so nice that you have great views of the lake from the living area and master bedroom so it feels like "you're there" even when inside. Beds are really comfortable, and the cookware was in great condition. We enjoyed the YouTube tv offered. Owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Although there are neighbors, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves during the week. On the weekends, neighbors were quiet, respectful. The lake is great for taking out a kayak, because there wasn't a lot of motor boats, especially during the week. Would definitely return."
