A stunning wood-burning fireplace surrounded by magnificent stonework is the highlight of this already beautiful space. Adjacent to the living area lies the dining area, where you can bring the whole family together around a charming wood table for a gourmet meal. The first floor also hosts an expansive family room with a large sectional sofa and an 85” flat screen TV. The family room also has a ping pong table for competitive family fun!

Prepare tonight’s menu options in the fully equipped kitchen, which comes complete with everything you’ll need to cook all your favorites. A charming breakfast bar allows you to keep the chef company while they work their magic in the kitchen.

THE LOCATION
With a 135+ private acres and beautiful Bolt Lake as your backyard, you may never want to step foot off the property! Bolt Lake is part of the Gang of Lakes, which allows you to explore 4 additional lakes via connecting channels. The lakes are great fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill, sunfish, catfish and pike. The property is also bordered by Rice Creek and has additional frontage on Gordan Lake and another small pond.
The property is just North of the city of Albion (home to Albion College) and is a quick 15 minute drive from the cute town of Marshall or the city of Jackson. It is also less than an hour drive from both East Lansing and Ann Arbor, making it a great option for college football weekends.
A fast 20 drive will take you to Firekeeper’s Casino in Battlecreek where you can enjoy over 2,900 slot machines, 70 table games and a 14-table non-smoking poker room in addition to numerous tasty dining options.

The area also offers the opportunity for golf, wine tasting, u-pick farm, short drive to Duck Lake and countless other activities.

Lyon Lake is a private lake (100 homes) covering around 200 acres. There is no public access.

Easy to find and easy to get to other places from. Just two miles from I69 exit 32. Half way between Chicago and Detroit. Historic Marshall is only 5 miles away. Marshall has pretty much all the civilization you would want: antiques, restaurants, groceries, movie theater, bowling, museums, ice cream shops . . .

Need a secluded getaway? Our off-grid cabin is on approximately 10 acres of private woods.

The cabin has a queen bed in the loft and two cots that can accommodate more guests. Guests must be able to climb a wooden log ladder.

The kitchen has a two burner stove and oven that can hold a 9x13 pan. Although we do not have running water, we do have a hand washing sink as well as a sink for washing dishes. We also provide you with plenty of water for your stay. We also have dishes, utensils, hot dog sticks, fry pie makers, pots and pans, a tripod grill for over the fire and a small charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal).

Outside, we have a fire pit, wood to collect or for purchase and a hammock to fully enjoy your stay. Our bathroom is an outhouse and has been described as the “cleanest outhouse in Michigan.” Our latest addition is a rustic outdoor shower! We provide water which is heated by solar power (or you can heat some on the stove to hurry the process!)

Within 1/4 mile is the St. Joe River which is a great place for kayaking. We also have kayaks and quads for rent. We also have some short trails on the property and a rail road bed adjacent to the cabin area.

Our cabin is powered by a small and very quiet Honda generator. It is super easy to start. The cabin’s main source of heat is a wood stove with wood we provide. An air conditioner is provided for the summer.

More than two people will be an additional $10 per night per person.

You're close enough to the town (less than 15 min) but when you're at the cabin, it feels secluded and VERY private. We loved trying the outdoor shower (a first for us!) And the outhouse felt like an actual bathroom behind the cabin. Very clean, comfortable. Overall this was amazing. We're already think ahead to when we can try to come back. If you're on the fence, just book. You won't regret it!"

This spacious 5 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home is great for large families as it has plenty of room both inside and outside and sleeps 20 with beds for 17. It is centrally located to many attractions such as Firekeepers Casino and Kellogg Arena. Easy interstate access makes it a quick trip to all the attractions of Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids too! This beautiful century old home with a grand piano and many antiques. Have fun discovering all of the unique features and hiding places this home offers!
The space
This century old home has 3 living levels and a basement. This is a home that was built in the 1920's, so it has amazing character. There are many doors, stairs, hideaways, antiques and unique features. There is 1 full bath with shower, and another bath with a tiny clawfoot tub as well as the half bath on the main floor. There are mirrors in all bedrooms to assist guests in getting ready.

Guests will have access to the entire home other than the garage and locked owners closets and storage.

Please note there is only 1 bath with a full shower and tub. The other clawfoot tub has a handheld shower sprayer.

My dad was able to do a bit of fishing and we also got to enjoy the bonfire on one night. The only thing that would have made the stay more enjoyable would be to have folding chairs in the laundry room since we love to play board games. - "Loved this place. It's so nice that you have great views of the lake from the living area and master bedroom so it feels like "you're there" even when inside. Beds are really comfortable, and the cookware was in great condition. We enjoyed the YouTube tv offered. Owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Although there are neighbors, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves during the week. On the weekends, neighbors were quiet, respectful. The lake is great for taking out a kayak, because there wasn't a lot of motor boats, especially during the week. Would definitely return."

The space
We have a large historic home in a lovely small town that we'd love to share with you. Our home was built in 1855 and sits up on a hill surrounded by mature shade trees and gardens. Private upstairs room with a double bed and private bath. Wonderful restaurants, museums, micro brew and shopping in our vibrant downtown that's only a 5 minute walk away. We have ample parking, wireless internet and laundry. The bedroom decor is cottage, lots of blue and white. Recently updated decor. New rug, bedding and comfy chair. The room and bath are at the back wing of our home so are very quiet and private. The bathroom is private with shower and laundry facilities in the room. We have been hosting for 6 years now and are having a great time. Our home is unique because as it is over 160 years old is is comfortable, homey and warm. We are LGBT friendly. ALL are welcome.

The space
Our historic home is in the largest historic residential district in the US. We are 3 blocks from a wonderful main street with great shopping. Our town has many museums, parks and restaurants. This room has a queen bed and private bath. The bathroom has original turn of the century fixtures and is very quaint. Bedrooms are located upstairs in the back wing of the house and are very private and quiet. The kitchen is very large (15 x 30) but cozy and is available for your use. We do have cats on site that have no access to guest rooms and are a nonsmoking household. Quiet walkable neighborhood. An amazing architecture walk with map guided tour. The Dark Horse brewery is a quick walk away as is Schulers 100 yr old restaurant. Ample parking. Bicycles available. We can't wait to share our home with you so expect a tour! We are LGBT friendly. Please note: This house was built in 1860! The stairs to the upstair bedroom are steep - that's how they did things back then! Guests who could not easily or safely traverse a spiral staircase could have trouble accessing the bedroom in our apartment.

In a pinch, an air mattress could be set up in the living room, but this would not be ideal for anyone.

We would love to have you stay with us, but please be aware that you will need to walk up and down a steep set of stairs that have a sharp turn at the bottom.

The upstairs, downtown space is in the heart of Marshall! A short walk to restaurants, shopping, local theaters, and museums. A perfect location for participating in our many local events including; The Marshall Historic Home Tour, Candlelight Walking Tour, Blues Festival, and the 4th of July Cruise to the Fountain.

If you need a long-term stay, I may be able to accommodate you. Let me know the dates you need in your message and I can let you know availability.

Your accommodations are one large bedroom with a Queen-size bed and an attached full bath. The huge bathroom has a roomy, stand-up shower (no bathtub). We have a roll-away bed and a Pack-N-Play for use by a child or infant (an extra $20 per stay for each). The bedroom and bath are located within the second-floor office space. The bathroom is attached to your bedroom with locking doors. The bathroom is occasionally used by me (during working hours only Mon-Fri 10 to 5) so I ask you to keep the door unlocked when not in use. The bathroom is for your exclusive use on nights and weekends. Most guests tell us it's like having a huge apartment and not just a bedroom, as they feel quite comfortable using the shared space even when we happen to be working.

This space was designed to be an apartment, so it has everything you need. The area outside the bedroom and bathroom is shared by me and occasionally by my staff, but only during working hours. The area includes the kitchen, dining area, and sitting area, all available for your use. The office has very little traffic, and our main business is downstairs. The downstairs business is open Mon-Fri. It can be a little noisy during operating hours Mon-Fri from 7 am until 6 pm, but it quiets down later in the day. I am rarely around on the weekends or holidays, but if I will be, I let you know in advance. Weekday rentals are most suited to early risers or business travelers, and weekends and holidays should suit anyone.

Continental breakfast items and beverages will be available for guests in our kitchen area. If you have specific dietary needs, I'm happy to accommodate them with enough notice. There is a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a stovetop (please don't bake or fry anything that is greasy or smells strongly, there isn't a stove hood to ventilate), and a dishwasher for your use. The kitchen has basic dishes, a few pots & pans, an electric teapot, Kuerig, utensils, a can-opener, corkscrew, salt & pepper, paper towels, dish soap, and dish towels. Please clean up after yourself in the kitchen and dining area.

There is a private entrance and plenty of free parking. On occasion, the free parking fills up because of special events, but we have the use of our own private parking spaces nearby. If you have an electric vehicle, there are charging stations in a lot next to our building and can be used for both day and night charging.

The large bedroom is private and has inside door locks. The bathroom is attached. The rest of the space is shared, by me or occasionally by a staff member. Our workspaces are separate from the bedroom and we don't utilize the shared space much when we have guests. I use the kitchen area for lunch preparation. All common spaces are regularly cleaned and sanitized.
The bedroom is large enough to add our roll-away bed or our pack-n-play.
Unfortunately, our location is not handicap accessible.

During your stay
I prefer to meet first-time guests upon arrival to explain the Airbnb layout and other things it's important for guests to know. I also just enjoy meeting guests! When I'm not available, my co-host/sister will check you in. On weekdays, one of us may be in or around the office up until 6 pm or so. We can answer questions about the area, give suggestions or chat. If privacy is what you're looking for, we don't bother you after check-in unless you need us!

Other things to note
Your accommodations are above a business establishment. We operate Monday-Friday from 6:30 am and close our doors at 6 pm. We are open from 9 to 1 on Saturdays. The bedroom is fairly quiet though you may hear some noise from our business operating during open hours. I've not had any guests complain about it. There is also some traffic noise, because we are on the main thoroughfare through town. Though it hasn't been an issue with the vast majority of previous guests, it has bothered a few of those who tell me they are light sleepers. I have both a ceiling fan and an oscillating fan that can help with masking noise if needed.

The shower control has been exorcised and is now normal. Extra blankets (if needed) are in your closet. The controls for your select comfort mattress are at the head of the bed on the side.

Marshall OverNight Stays is a place we'd like to stay when traveling. It's private, centrally located, secure, mechanically updated, safe, interesting to be in, and a place with open spaces to set travel bags. We enjoy having a private space when we get-away, so we do not enter the apartment for housekeeping, etc. while guests are there unless guests have requests or needs (which we are happy to tend to).

MONS has the advantage of being right on Marshall's main street. So you can park your car (free, camera-monitored parking structure right next to our building ) and enjoy exploring this vibrant, historic small town. Built in1865 as the Perrin Bank, our corner building still has impressive features, such as 15 ft. ceilings and sand stone & limestone facade.
The OverNight Stay had the honor of being featured on the 49th Marshall Historic Home Tour, and our building's first floor was the featured business on the Marshall Historical Society's 50th Home Tour! After years of restoring it, we believe it is indeed one of the most beautiful business locations in Marshall.
It is next to a movie theater and near restaurants, so good food and an inexpensive movie are right out your door. It's down the street from many shops and more restaurants, including Schuler's, Grand River Brewery, Copper Bar, and a short walk to the famous Dark Horse Brewery...which is very convenient.

This beautiful, fully remodeled (2023) lake house is just what you've been looking for! Enjoy beautiful sunsets and a 182-acre nature area just across the lake. Have fun on Stuart Lake (aka Lower Brace Lake), a 115 acre, all-sports and fishing lake. Located just 5 minutes from the Marshall City limits and 8 minutes from the heart of Downtown Marshall. The property has a fully equipped kitchen, plus a gas grill, patio table/chairs, loft with beds, a fire pit, dock, smart TVs, WiFi and kayaks.

The space
Guests must walk down a few steps to get to the house. Our spot on the lake is a bit mucky and does not have sand near the shore. You can swim off the dock but you'll need to swim out to get in deeper water. The lake is shallow near the shore.

There should be a fly swatter in the kitchen closet hanging up.

Garbage is picked up on Tuesdays. Do not block the garbage can or you'll be assessed an additional fee.

All shampoo, conditioner and body wash is furnished. Only a starter pack of dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels are provided.
