The space

29 West is the perfect spot for a retreat in the country. This cozy, tastefully remodeled home is surrounded by natural beauty. Perfect for a peaceful escape or a romantic getaway. Enter into the open concept space downstairs with a full kitchen and dining room. The living room has a smart tv with Directv service. Off of the living room you have the bathroom with a walk in shower. Off of the kitchen is an in-unit laundry room. As you walk up the wooden staircase, enter the loft style bedroom with a queen sized bed and a pull out sofa with a cot sized mattress. Heading back downstairs, french doors off of the living room lead out to the stunning backyard with an outdoor shower and an outdoor tub overlooking the countryside. Plenty of outdoor seating and a gorgeous pergola for entertaining. On the side of the house there is a communal barbecue area with two barbecues and plenty of seating. There is a separate studio unit also available on the property.

Although you feel tucked away, you have easy access to the highway and are within a short drive of many destinations and amenities. Just 2 miles down the road from Twin Pine Casino. Another mile down the road, enter the adorable country town of Middletown with restaurants, tasting rooms, a locally owned gourmet grocery store and boutique shops. Perfect location for a Wine Country retreat, as this is central for Lake County and Napa County, you have hundreds of wineries to choose from surrounding you. Calistoga is just 20 minutes away. For our active anglers and water sports lovers, it’s only 20 minutes to the largest natural freshwater lake in California and the oldest lake in North America, beautiful Clear Lake. If you’re looking for the perfect Golfer’s Getaway, the beautiful Hidden Valley Lake golf course is just 10 minutes away. Harbin Hot Springs is just 7 miles away.

The main house and backyard are exclusively for Unit A's use. There is a large common barbecue area with slate ground cover in between both units with two barbecues and plenty of seating. There is a long shared driveway with plenty of parking off to the side of the driveway. Plenty of space for boat parking as well at the front of the property to the side of the driveway.

Other things to note

The road to Middletown is a sports car enthusiast’s dream, a winding mountain road with forested scenery and lookout points with sweeping vistas overlooking vineyards in the Napa Valley and the Mayacamas Mountain range. Cell phone reception in this area is spotty, there is wifi available in the unit. There is a separate studio unit also available on the property. Large barbecue area with two barbecues and plenty of seating between both units is a common area. Quiet hours will be enforced for those not renting both units.
Owners will allow gatherings on a case by case approval basis. Please inquire about your event as it will incur an additional cleaning fee and deposit.

Perfectly situated in downtown Middletown, this modern 2-story home sits in a quiet location but yet is just a 2 minute walk to the local cafes, coffee shops, grocery stores, community pool & more. It's an ideal spot if you are heading up Hwy. 175 toward Cobb Mountain & Boggs forest, out to Harbin Hot Springs, or further north to Hidden Valley Lake, Lower Lake & Clear Lake.

This property is located about 20-30 minutes north of Calistoga. For those wanting to visit Napa Valley, please note, you do have to drive over a windy, mountain road to get to Calistoga and the Napa Valley. We have many wonderful wineries here in Lake County and are happy to provide recommendations, if desired!

The huge entry hallway offers plenty of space for storing mountain or road bikes or other outdoor equipment that you want to bring inside for the night.

Downstairs is a bedroom with a queen bed, full bathroom with stall shower, walk in closet & utility room with washer/dryer & utility sink.

Upstairs is all the main living areas including the full kitchen, complete with dishwasher, pantry, microwave, electric range, refrigerator, and both a standard coffee maker or a single serve. It is fully stocked with dishes & all of the cooking essentials.

The living room & dining room enjoy vaulted ceilings & a cute deck with patio table, chairs & bbq looking out to the street ~ a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee.

The living room has two convertible couches, that can be laid flat to provide two twin-size bed options (most suited for children). There is a TV with Roku firestick and WiFi is provided.

The large upstairs bedroom features a king bed, desk area, walk in closet & black out curtains. The full bathroom offers a tub/shower combo with a jetted tub, pedestal sink & skylight.

A twin size blow up air mattress is also available for use. Please note the main living is upstairs and the stairway is a bit steep for some.

This is the main house and comes with the designated paved parking spot for one car in the driveway. There is a detached studio cottage behind this home, which does use the side yard for access and the gravel parking space is reserved for the cottage.

Need more space? The cottage can be rented separately and can sleep another 3 adults, or 2 adults + 2 small children (VRBO# 3067759). However the entire MAIN house is exclusively included in this rental.

Big Canyon Farm – Near Harbin Hot Springs

Big Canyon Farmhouse is an authentic, lovely, classically rustic craftsman home with gardens, sharing 3+ acres in pristine South Lake County wine country. We are surrounded by giant oaks, picturesque vineyards and expansive valley and mountain views. We are just 2.5 miles to Harbin Hot Springs! That puts us 18 miles (about 30 mins) due north of Calistoga, over Mt Saint Helena in the fabulous Callayomi Valley.

Big Canyon Farm is the perfect setting for a memorable retreat. The house includes 3 separate bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Both lower floor bedrooms have full size beds, cozy bedding, and share a full bathroom across the hall. The upstairs master has a queen bed plus sitting area, a dressing room and full bath with clawfoot tub. The upper floor resembles a full suite, to include the home theater lounge in the next room.

Downstairs, the open kitchen, living and dining rooms create an inspired group gathering space, with easy access to the giant covered porch/ outdoor lounge. The theater lounge upstairs includes a huge flatscreen tv, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and YouTube TV. We have WI-FI and a high quality Bluetooth whole house sound system. The kitchen is very well appointed with the dishware and modern appliances for entertaining and gourmet cooking.

While it feels like we are miles into the country, our wonderfully stocked and family owned grocery store (including plenty of organics) is just over a mile away. Even a bit closer is the community swimming pool and tennis court. If you feel like going back in time to a simpler place, this is your spot!

If you’re into Mountain Biking, you’ll find plenty of joy riding at Boggs Mountain, and also at Six Sigma Ranch. Local Beaver Creek Organic and Biodynamic Winery is a favorite, as is Shedhorn’s tasting room downtown. Golf options include nearby Hidden Valley Lake (with driving range) and Adams Springs on Cobb MT. This is vacation paradise!

A couple interesting details about the house:

The wide plank floors, stairs and much of the finish/ trim work throughout the house are from local, fire salvage Douglas Fir. In winter, you can enjoy the local fire salvaged black walnut and tiled wood burning fireplace, which is as authentic and heart warming as can be.

- "Cabin 1 is probably one of the original Loch Lomand Resort cabins but fully updated to modern times. We rented 2 cabins on this trip but this cabin had 3 huge bunk beds that probably could have accommodated all of our family. Worked out well as all the of the college aged kids stayed in one cabin and all of the grown ups in the other. AC made the difference on a hot weekend. Pool, restaurant, coffee shop and small convenience store right across the street. Golf course nearby. Will be back and probably all of the other Italians in Loch Lomand too."

Beautiful views in the wonderful little Italian Village of Loch Lomond. High-speed internet, wood burning stove, comfortable queen size beds, washer, and dryer. A short little walk to the local market and Loch Lomond Roadhouse, Coffee shop, spin classes, and pool. Golf and frisbee golf just down the road two different golf courses. Hiking and biking on Boggs Mountain is only a short drive away. Great deck to read a book or just enjoy the sounds of nature. Deer, woodpeckers, squirrels, robins, hawks an abundance of wildlife. Wildflowers, shady oaks, a fire pit and places to sit around the campfire. Hammock between the oak trees.
Come get away and relax or a weekend or longer and still have the option of connecting to the world with high-speed wifi internet.

The house was clean, had everything we needed and larger that expected. We had a couple glitches locking ourselves out (our fault) - Jon responded immediately and was able to help and remained patient with us. We did have little ones with us (4 year old and 1 year old). - Cancellations 30+ days prior to arrival will receive a full refund less any fees for credit card processing we assumed when you made your original payments. (We do not charge credit card fees when guests originally reserve)
- Cancellations less that 30 days prior to arrival will not receive a refund unless we are able to rebook the property for your same dates. In that case you will be refunded the full amount of your payments to date less any fees for credit card processing we assumed when you made your original payments. If we choose, you may be able to receive a credit toward a future stay valued at the full amount of your payments less original credit card fees.

FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS/NON-DISCLOSURE:
- Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in.
- Any non-disclosure by Renter, such as failure to disclose pets brought to the property, additional guests allowed on the property by Renter, or any other material non-disclosure identified during Renter's stay will result in a fine equivalent to 50% of the rental amount.

However, the owner and property manager were very communicative and responsive to our concerns and questions, and they diligently tried to fix the issues as best they could. Unfortunately, some were not fixable during our stay. The Mountain Estate is a perfect "get there and stay there" vacation property. As heading north on Hwy 29 from Calistoga is quite winding, I recommend having all meals in-house and allowing enough time to experience the property's full potential."

The cottage is comfortable and charming with a newly added bathroom and kitchen area. The back deck faces the morning sun, where you can sit and drink your morning, coffee . Walking distance to shops and restaurants in Middletown. All folks, races, LGBT friendly.

This is my charming get away cabin with a loft and deck facing the morning sun. It’s in a private spot with a 6’ tall wooden privacy fence between it and the main house.
You will be right in Middletown just a five minute walk to the brewery, La Parilla Mexican and delicious BudhaThai restaurant. Three miles to Harbin!

For all of you who stayed here previously, last summer I moved the Goats and Chickens, and built a covered back deck to keep it cooler in the summer and give you an awesome place to sit outside on the deck in the shade! Sadly the animals are now behind my house instead of the Love Shack. But you can still see birds and an occasional fox in the riverbed.

The downstairs mattress is a new, memory foam queen-size bed. Upstairs is a loft with a twin size memory foam mattress for a third person. I do request that if you have a third person with you, you validated they are agile and secure with climbing to the loft.

We welcome fun and funky people, LGBT, gay, straight, quiet, meditative folks, yoga practitioners, construction workers, far out hippies, college students, and people of all genres however unique or mainstream. I live next door and can offer suggestions for activities in the area.
Harbin is available to book massages and watsu through.

If you are wanting to bring a pet of any kind, please make sure you have gotten my written approval. I generally only approve small, non shedding, well trained dogs that will never be left alone for this place. I have another listing, called the "Well House", which is next door, fenced, and more suitable for bigger dogs.

Calistoga with all it's restaurants, mud-baths, hot springs, cryotherapy and stores is 20 minutes away. Amazing hiking is 10 minutes away at Robert Louis Stevenson park, or Anderson Marsh. Biking and hiking up at Boggs Forest. And, the ineffable, Harbin Hot Springs is three miles away.

I just updated what was the "Locust Lodge" to the "Emerald Lodge"! Now let's see if this name sticks or I change it to "Lime and Tequila Lodge", and.. still.. open to suggestions. I decided to paint one of the walls green, and upgraded a few other things that I am sure you will appreciate. There is a new memory foam mattress, flat screen TV, desk, table with four chairs, all sorts of new kitchen accoutraments, a gorgeous water color painting from a friend of mine, and lots of love.

We welcome fun and funky people, quiet meditative folks, workers, and people of all genres, however unique or mainstream. You can come unwind, work, or go on an inward journey. I live three blocks away and can offer suggestions for activities in the area.

In 2015 my home burned down, on this spot, in the Valley Fire, and the new house, which I built and you will be staying in, is energy efficient and lovely.

You can walk around our friendly little town, have a HUGE breakfast with the locals at the Cowpoke Cafe, sit and chat at Mountain High Coffee just a block and a half away or walk to the Art Center.

The casino is two miles up the road with a full bar and restaurant, or more my speed, you can go hiking at the Palisades, Robert Louis Stevenson Park, Anderson Marsh or Cobb Mountain. Nearby is incredible wine, grass fed meat and hiking at Six Sigma Ranch.

Calistoga and the head of Napa Valley is just twenty minutes away. Their world class restaurants and wineries endlessly fascinate me.

Locally, we are a warm group that is especially bonded since we have worked to rebuild our town after the Valley Fire. Our new Hardesters Market now has a huge organics section, sushi, sandwiches, yogurt bar, hot bar, pre-made sauces and meals and much more.

If you are coming with friends who want a place close by, my other places called The Tangerine Cottage and the Stagecoach are right next door.

I have the highest speed wifi available in the area, (1GB), and I work from home so am quite speedy at keeping it up and running for my own family. The wifi works very well in the Riverbed house and guests are free to stream movies and work from "home" as long as you do not download large or illegal files. Because of our remote town, I cannot guarantee the wifi is always working. It is RARELY down, but, I do not want to disappoint anyone who is counting on wifi. There is good reception here for both Verizon and Att so you will always be able to use your phone as a hot spot if needed.

I completely re-modeled this home when my good friends who live on a boat, arrived asking for a place to have their baby in. Hence, my heart is full of love every time I look at the photos and remember Augie, joining us on earth in August, last year. We finished the space, just in time for his arrival. This large house has plenty of room for a couple families, crews of workers, or just yourself wanting to spread out on the large deck!

We love the open airy feeling of the living area flowing out onto the huge deck and outdoor seating area overlooking the dried river bed. It is especially enjoyable to sit in the warm hot tub water looking up at the stars at night.

Inside the HUGE cozy couch which allows someone to sit comfortably while looking out the sliding doors to the deck and chat with whoever is in the kitchen cooking...

Middletown has recovered in grand style from the Valley Fire. We have a beautiful community, the new library right across the street on one side, and the St. Helena Creek Riverbed on the other. With Harbin Hot Springs newly opened, we love Middletown and all the wineries, hiking, art center and love nearby.

There are four parking spots for you near the house, and possibly more. Please let me know if you are bringing more than four vehicles. There is plenty of parking on the street.

Middletown is small, so once here you can walk to eat, get groceries, or have a coffee in just a few blocks.

This comfortable cottage is an awesome place to have some quiet, privacy and fun together. It is surrounded by a privacy fence, from my home. The bedroom area is new, and connected by a porch to an older bathroom and kitchen. You can recline in the double recliner leather love-seat and watch a movie on the flat screen television and walk to the stores and restaurants. Three miles from Harbin Hot Springs, and a 20' drive to Calistoga. All races, folks, and LGBT friendly.

This cottage is right in Middletown. I created it for my teenage sons to have a place to get away from mom in. Many good times have been had here... The space is cozy, comfortable and has high airy ceilings. I live next door, behind a privacy fence, so am available if you need anything, but, as with my sons, I plan to give you your privacy. The building has three parts, the main bedroom and living area, with a porch that connects to the bathroom and kitchen area.

There is a porch connecting the bedroom and living area to the kitchen and bathroom building. I provide two robes to keep you warm on the way, unless you want to walk naked across the porch in the night to pee, (which is what I would do)! There is a kitchen with a refrigerator, range, sink, and hot water for your use. This is a simple kitchen, not a big culinary one.

Please note, that the kitchen and bathroom can be chilly in the winter. I provide a space heater but ask that you do not leave it running when you are not there as it burns electricity and is just not worth it for a two minute pee! If this is too much for you, please rent one of my other places with nice warm bathrooms, The Emerald Lodge, The Love Shack, The Garden House and the Riverbed House. All of those have nice new, warm bathrooms! For the best kitchen, the Emerald Lodge, Garden House, or Rivberbed House.

You will be right in Middletown just a five minute walk to La Parilla, Mountain High Coffee, and the delicious Thai restaurant. 20' to Calistoga and the head of Napa Valley. This is a great place to stay if you want to pay less than Napa/Calistoga prices while you go wine tasting, or visit Harbin Hot Springs! or are just passing through and need a sweet place to sleep for the night.

I have installed a large flat screen TV with WiFi for you to stream from your personal devices.

On the kitchen/bath side, there is a full size refrigerator, full size range, sink with hot water, microwave and a water pot for you to use. There is a second room with a hot shower and toilet.

The downstairs mattress is a new, memory foam queen-size bed as is the upper one in the loft.

Middletown is recovering from the Valley Fire two years ago, and it is now a vibrant community. While small, we have 3 Mexican food spots, a Thai restaurant, the casino with its' restaurant Harbin Hot Springs, and many other activities nearby. Calistoga with its' many restaurants is a 15' drive, as well as the head of Napa Valley with all its' wineries. There are wonderful hiking trails 15' up the mountain including Robert Louis Stevenson Park or the Palisades trail all the way to Calistoga! Harbin Hot Springs is amazing as always, and world class mountain biking.

It is totally enjoyable to walk around Middletown, pet the horses, say hi to my goats, and get some food at the new Hardester's Market.

The bathroom and kitchen are connected through an outdoor covered porch! The sleeping/living area is newly built and well insulated, with nice light and very comfortable. The building that houses the bathroom and kitchen is an old well house so has some delicacies, such as, a 5 gallon water heater, which means, no long showers! If you want a warm, connected, kitchen and bathroom, please book one of my other places. The Love Shack, The Garden House, and the Emerald Cottage.

If you have a friend coming, the Well House is situated across the yard from the Love Shack and perfect for two couples wanting to stay close, but have private space. The Garden shed is on the other side of my house, so two lots away. The Riverbed House is also right next door if you want to book a larger group and one couple wants a private space.

Brand new, spacious, clean, comfortable, temperature controlled space with 12' cathedral ceilings, high efficiency appliances, and great insulation. My old house, which used to sit here, was the stagecoach stop. That home burned down in the Valley Fire, so Everything is now brand new. I designed this space to have an open feel and let the light in, yet feel private and welcoming. You have your own deck to watch the morning sun come up while you drink your coffee and a memory foam bed.

You will be comfortable relaxing on the reclining couch, watching TV with the high speed streaming internet, doing yoga on the rug, or laying back and going on an inward journey or perhaps meandering the three miles up to Harbin Hot Springs. I used to ride my bike, pulling my sons behind me, to Harbin Hot Springs, just three miles up the road. Plenty of hiking in the Palisades and Mt. St. Helena just 8' up the road, as well as Boggs Forest, and lots of quiet and night stars!

I have the best, (1 GB Mediacom) internet available in Middletown, which is more than enough to work from home, stream your favorite shows and mirror to to the flat screen TV.

Whether you are visiting relatives in Hidden Valley Lake, working up at the Geysers, touring the wine country, or soaking at Harbin Hot Springs, you will be able to relax in the well designed and comfortable space.

If you want to bring a pet you MUST get written approval from me. I will want to know how you will care for your pet including, will they be left alone? Will you be walking them daily? Are they accustomed to going on the furniture? Will you be picking up after them both inside and out of the house? Do they tend to bark? Are they used to traveling with you and will you be bringing all their necessities? Also let me know a bit about your dog, preferably a photo if you can. How large are they? Are the big shedders? Do they bark? Please know that I generally only approve well trained dogs that will never be left alone, that weigh less than 45 pounds total.

I generally only allow small, well-trained dogs that will be with you the entire time. If you want to bring a dog, you must get pre-approval from me. This is my charming get away cabin with a loft and deck facing the morning sun. It’s in a private spot with a 6’ tall wooden privacy fence between it and the main house.

For all of you who stayed here previously, last summer I moved the Goats and Chickens, and built a covered back deck to keep it cooler in the summer and give you an awesome place to sit outside on the deck in the shade! Sadly the animals are now behind my house instead of the Love Shack. But you can still see birds and an occasional fox in the riverbed.

The downstairs mattress is a new, memory foam queen-size bed. Upstairs is a loft with a twin size memory foam mattress for a third person. I do request that if you have a third person with you, you validated they are agile and secure with climbing to the loft.

Brand new, spacious, clean, comfortable, temperature controlled space with 12' cathedral ceilings, high efficiency appliances, and great insulation. My old house, which used to sit here, was the stagecoach stop. That home burned down in the Valley Fire, so Everything is now brand new. I designed this space to have an open feel and let the light in, yet feel private and welcoming. You have your own deck to watch the morning sun come up while you drink your coffee and a memory foam bed.

The space
Beautiful, well designed, inviting space to relax, have fun, or get some work done. The house itself has cathedral ceilings and is made to be efficiently comfortable. I designed and built this comfortable home for ease, relaxation, and quiet. I like sunshine, so there are nice windows to the South, and all around, with blinds on all of them for privacy. The full size kitchen and appliances are there for the cooks among you. You will be comfortable relaxing on the reclining couch, watching TV with the high speed streaming internet, doing yoga on the rug, or laying back and going on an inward journey or perhaps meandering the three miles up to Harbin Hot Springs. All fun, funky, serious, playful folks of any persuasion are welcome here.

You will have access to the outside porch, your entire unit to yourself, and be able to access the washer and dryer if you are there for 4 days or more.

Other things to note
If you want to bring a pet you MUST get written approval from me. I will want to know how you will care for your pet including, will they be left alone? Will you be walking them daily? Are they accustomed to going on the furniture? Will you be picking up after them both inside and out of the house? Do they tend to bark? Are they used to traveling with you and will you be bringing all their necessities? Also let me know a bit about your dog, preferably a photo if you can. How large are they? Are the big shedders? Do they bark? Please know that I generally only approve well trained dogs that will never be left alone, that weigh less than 45 pounds total.

Also, you agree to be respectful of energy usage and agree to be respectful of the other tenants by keeping the noise level low.

You will have full, private access to your living space and, if you are there for more than a few days, you may use the washer/dryer accessed in the breezeway.

Other things to note
Please note that I only allow well trained dogs that will be with you, or crated and quiet at all times. You MUST write to me and get approval from me if you plan to bring a pet. I have a weight limit of 45 pounds - total. That means, I may allow two small dogs, but rarely two bigger dogs. You will be asked to leave, immediately, if your dog is destroying any property, making noise, left alone, or unruly in any way. The neighbors are quite particular about dogs and will let me know if they hear or see a dog I did not let them know about.


If you are coming with friends who want a place close by, The Love Shack, The Well House, The Garden House and The Riverbed House are all three blocks away, and in the same area where I live. It works well to rent one of more of them if you have a larger group.

I have the highest speed wifi available in the area, (1GB), and I work from home so am quite speedy at keeping it up and running for my own family. The wifi works very well in the Riverbed house and guests are free to stream movies and work from "home" as long as you do not download large or illegal files. Because of our remote town, I cannot guarantee the wifi is always working. It is RARELY down, but, I do not want to disappoint anyone who is counting on wifi. There is good reception here for both Verizon and Att so you will always be able to use your phone as a hot spot if needed.

This cute little cabin is a studio that includes a kitchen (with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster), dining/desk area, small closet, bathroom, and queen bed. There is a WiFi, a smart TV, heating, and air conditioning units. Bathroom includes a shower (no tub), sink, toilet, shelving, and medicine cabinet for storage. There is a front deck area with your own BBQ and table. Cabin 4 is one of five cabins (3 of which have been renovated and are available for guests). 29 West is the perfect place for a retreat. Tranquil country setting but just off of the highway so you can experience peace and quiet but you don't have to travel off the beaten path to get it. This modern and stylish studio with a kitchenette is fantastic to hang out, unplug and relax.

The space
29 West is the perfect spot for a retreat in the country. This cozy, modern studio is tucked away amongst natural beauty. A perfect, peaceful place to escape and unplug. Pulling up to the studio you will see the beautiful common barbecue area with 2 barbecues and plenty of seating. As you walk up the stairs you have your own deck overlooking the gorgeous countryside. Entering the unit you have a large studio space with a comfortable queen sized bed and a quaint sitting area. Moving through the unit you have a dining table and a kitchenette with a mini fridge, sink, two burner hot plate, keurig coffee maker, and microwave. Off of the main room is a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a separate one bedroom house also available on the property.



Although you feel tucked away, you have easy access to the highway and are within a short drive of many destinations and amenities. Just 2 miles down the road from Twin Pine Casino. Another mile down the road, enter the adorable country town of Middletown with restaurants, tasting rooms, a locally owned gourmet grocery store and boutique shops. Perfect location for a Wine Country retreat, as this is central for Lake County and Napa County, you have hundreds of wineries to choose from surrounding you. Calistoga is just 20 minutes away. For our active anglers and water sports lovers, it’s only 20 minutes to the largest natural freshwater lake in California and the oldest lake in North America, beautiful Clear Lake. If you’re looking for the perfect Golfer’s Getaway, the beautiful Hidden Valley Lake golf course is just 10 minutes away. Harbin Hot Springs is just 7 miles away.

The road to Middletown is a sports car enthusiast’s dream, a winding mountain road with forested scenery and lookout points with sweeping vistas overlooking vineyards in the Napa Valley and the Mayacamas Mountain range. Cell phone reception in this area is spotty, there is wifi available in the unit. There is a separate one bedroom unit also available on the property. Large barbecue area with two barbecues and plenty of seating between both units is a common area. Quiet hours will be enforced for those not renting both units.

Welcome to Castlewood Cabin in the beautiful Whispering Pines community on Cobb Mountain. Wrapped in a forest of pine trees, this rustic, refinished cabin offers one bedroom and one bathroom as well as a fold out sofa in the living room. With room for up to 5 guests this cabin is the ideal spot for a romantic couples getaway, a family road trip or even a small group of friends.

The space
This is a small older cabin that we spruced up during the COVID lockdown. The bedroom is decent sized with one queen bed a tv with Roku and DVD player. In the living room there is a gaming device, smart TV. There are two fold out sofas, one of which can fit two adults and another that could fit a smaller person if needed, but it’s probably not big enough to fit an adult comfortably. There is a shower and a bath in the bathroom. Wood burning stove in the living room and we have full laundry and kitchen facilities as well. It’s not the Taj Mahal but we think it’s the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace for a bit!

You’ll have access to the entire upstairs part of the cabin. We are working on adding the downstairs but that’s a work in progress.

NOTES:
Our street and the Streetlights - Castlewood is a county maintained dirt road. Unless there is snow on the ground you won’t need four wheel drive to access the cabin, but it can snow enough a few times during the winter to make access difficult. We will communicate with our pending guests if a looming storm has the potential to affect their stay.

Our street can be dark at night, so you might want a flashlight if you arrive after dark or if you want to take a night walk.

Parking - please leave room for the neighbor to park behind you and for others to pass, if need be.

Lock box code - bring this with you before you head up in case your phone signal is weak

Stairs - access the cabin by climbing a long flight of stairs.

Poison Oak - be careful! We’ve cleared around our space but after that, it’s everywhere.

Septic - please only flush toilet paper down the toilet.

No open flames besides the BBQ - fires are a serious threat here, so please adhere to this rule!!

We are located in the quiet neighborhood of Whispering Pines in Cobb, CA. With lots of activities right outside the door, you'll have plenty to do but this is also the perfect retreat to stay in and relax!

The space
The Cobb Haus is located at the end of a quiet dirt road of a rural neighborhood. (Please note: there are neighbors, however the cabin is situated in a way that it faces out into the forest making it feel private and secluded when inside. The deck however, can be seen by the neighbor). It is nestled in the dogwood trees with a beautiful deck (and an outdoor shower!). It offers one large open common space as well as a bedroom and living room with amazing tree views - it feels like you're in a treehouse!

The bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed with a memory foam topper and quality linens.

The main heat source is a wood stove. It is important that you know how to light a fire and keep it going to ensure that your stay is warm and comfortable. Wood is only provided during the colder months (November-March) and enough wood will be provided for your stay. Bring extra layers as it does get chilly in the evening, even in the summer. It is also a good idea to bring some kind of mosquito/bug repellent. We do have some space heaters as well but in the very cold months, a fire will keep the house the warmest.

The stairs going down to the cabin are quite steep, please be very careful walking down them.

We have one security camera facing the front door for yours (and our) safety. If you have any concerns about this please feel free to let us know.

Our newly updated modern studio is tucked away on the backside of our property facing a meadow. It's a very peaceful place to relax/heal from the stress of life. Anderson Springs is a quiet rural neighborhood 7 minutes from Middletown. The road in and out of A.S. is paved. Both the parking spot and the path to the studio are gravel (it is 100 ft from the parking spot to the studio). The neighborhood and property are dark at night. This beautiful home is located among the pines in Loch Lomond which began its development in 1948. The house is upgraded with a Viking stove/oven and stainless steel appliances. Kelseyville is a great shopping town with wine tasting and street tacos.A ride to Lakeport can be enjoyment for the entire family. Visit Clearlake, the largest natural lake in California, where you can enjoy boating or fishing and rent boats and jet skis in the Summer. Summer concerts at Library Park. Bring your chairs and pack a picnic, sit back and relax while listening to local bands.

While in Lake County be sure to stop at a local bistro and enjoy lunch while taking in views of the Lake.
Boggs State forest and Konocti State Trail are a short drive away and is popular for its hiking trail to the top where you can go to the fire lookout. You might even find diamonds while on your hike.

Middletown has a variety of restaurants, shops and the C. Gibson Museum for you to enjoy. Located on the main street is Hardester Market for Grocery.Harbin Hot Springs for those who enjoy clothing optional is a natural hot spring internationally famous.

The space
29 West is the perfect spot for a retreat in the country. This cozy, tastefully remodeled home is surrounded by natural beauty. Perfect for a peaceful escape or a romantic getaway. Enter into the open concept space downstairs with a full kitchen and dining room. The living room has a smart tv with Directv service. Off of the living room you have the bathroom with a walk in shower. Off of the kitchen is an in-unit laundry room. As you walk up the wooden staircase, enter the loft style bedroom with a queen sized bed and a pull out sofa with a cot sized mattress. Heading back downstairs, french doors off of the living room lead out to the stunning backyard with an outdoor shower and an outdoor tub overlooking the countryside. Plenty of outdoor seating and a gorgeous pergola for entertaining. On the side of the house there is a communal barbecue area with two barbecues and plenty of seating. There is a separate studio unit also available on the property.

Although you feel tucked away, you have easy access to the highway and are within a short drive of many destinations and amenities. Just 2 miles down the road from Twin Pine Casino. Another mile down the road, enter the adorable country town of Middletown with restaurants, tasting rooms, a locally owned gourmet grocery store and boutique shops. Perfect location for a Wine Country retreat, as this is central for Lake County and Napa County, you have hundreds of wineries to choose from surrounding you. Calistoga is just 20 minutes away. For our active anglers and water sports lovers, it’s only 20 minutes to the largest natural freshwater lake in California and the oldest lake in North America, beautiful Clear Lake. If you’re looking for the perfect Golfer’s Getaway, the beautiful Hidden Valley Lake golf course is just 10 minutes away. Harbin Hot Springs is just 7 miles away.

The main house and backyard are exclusively for Unit A's use. There is a large common barbecue area with slate ground cover in between both units with two barbecues and plenty of seating. There is a long shared driveway with plenty of parking off to the side of the driveway. Plenty of space for boat parking as well at the front of the property to the side of the driveway.

Other things to note
The road to Middletown is a sports car enthusiast’s dream, a winding mountain road with forested scenery and lookout points with sweeping vistas overlooking vineyards in the Napa Valley and the Mayacamas Mountain range. Cell phone reception in this area is spotty, there is wifi available in the unit. There is a separate studio unit also available on the property. Large barbecue area with two barbecues and plenty of seating between both units is a common area. Quiet hours will be enforced for those not renting both units.

This super cute cabin was recently remodeled with all the modern amenities but still has that rustic and cozy charm of a cabin in the woods! It's the perfect getaway for a small group or family. There is lots to explore in the area but also plenty of fun activities provided at the cabin so you don't even have to leave if you don't want to!

Full access to the home. Parking in the driveway for up to 3 cars. Most of the area is newly paved, so it's easy to get around even in the winter. Roads are always plowed and treated for safety. It's super nice to have a local market and deli within walking distance.

This spring fed 1,100 sf home is nestled in the tall pines with skylights, wood floors, propane wood stove, carpeted bedroom, dining room, full bath w/tub and spacious decks on an oversized lot in a quiet village on Cobb Mtn. Decorations are contemplative artistic.

Master bedroom has sitting room with easy bird viewing. Outdoor decks are tucked in the lower canopy and provide spacious but intimate exposure to forest.

Yoga mats and supports, sitting cushions, and small weights available for use. There is a table in the living room that can be used for puzzles and a couple of puzzles available.

Some lights are on timers and will go off around 10pm. Quiet time at 10:00pm.

There is a studio Airbnb below the bedroom. Please be mindful of stepping, voices and other noises while in the bedroom and on back decks.

Laundry facilities available $5/load.

Layered clothing recommended: Cobb Mountain is usually cooler than the surrounding low lying areas, but can sometimes be warmer depending on air currents, etc. The house is situated under tall pines, Douglas firs and cedars, which lends itself to cooler temps.

We live in an active geothermal area (one of the largest geothermal electricity producing regions on the planet!) that is prone to small earthquakes on occasion.

We live in a high fire risk area. Additional instructions for fire safety and evacuation on site.

Country living: you will see wildlife including bugs, chipmunks, deer, and more. This is their home too so please be mindful of their existence.

SUMMER: there is no air conditioning, but there are ceiling and area fans and a whole-house fan. Opening the windows at night and closing them during the day will keep the house coolest.

SUMMER: Natural oil mosquito repellents on site. No use of products containing DEET or harsh chemicals.

SUMMER: There is a resort across the way. Sounds can sometimes filter up to the bedroom, particularly during high season.

WINTER: we get snow. Snow shovel available for walkways and decks. Can be slippery!

Owners continue to use home on occasion. Please respect personal items found in bathroom, pantry and refrigerator.

You'll arrive and hear the streams filling the air with gentle but pervasive babbling of water. The birds will be talking, and the trees welcoming you into the green bosom of the Earth.

Enter by wide redwood stairs to the solid front door into the naturally-cool open space. Kick up your feet and take a load off on the multiple comfortable sofas, including one that opens into a cozy and expandable day bed. The coat closet near the entry has hangers for your gear for every type of weather. By design, the indoor air quality is chemical-free.

Walking forward or turning left there are sliding glass doors out to the redwood decks. One large, long area is open to the sun, where you'll find lounge chairs. The area to the east is covered for shade and rainy days, where you'll find additional chairs. You can have your meals out on the deck table with an optional umbrella, or eat inside on the low table or kitchen island.

Enjoy the fridge, freezer, stove, oven, wood chopping board, kettle, blender, pots, pans, mugs, and everything that's there. The drinking water is unbelievable high quality spring water out of the tap.

Use the reading library, and the toys and puzzles for children, and sink into the cushions as you desire.

Progress through the bead curtain and find the bath where you can fill the extra-length tub with the tap spring water, to the soaking temperature of your choice. Towel yourself off on the stone tile floor and use the convenient well-lit vanity mirror.

The lovely curtain bath and bedroom doors are a feature many guests enjoy as "gorgeous," "beautiful," "unique," and "comfy." Others have found them unusual, different from interior hinge doors, or perhaps slightly challenging to get acquainted with. Privacy is provided in these rooms, though not locks and perhaps with a style that takes a bit of getting accustomed to.

You're steps from the bedroom, designed for tranquility and peace on natural and organic fabric, unscented bedding. The curtains draw closed or open for your view gazing, slumber, stargazing, or romance. For parents of infants, a bassinet is available to bring over to the side of the bed.

The space
This is a 500 sq.ft. stand alone studio built in 2018. Large main room with full kitchen and full bath. Outside behind the studio is an outdoor shower and the hot tub is available for use. There are several places to sit outside and enjoy the views.

Please keep the gates closed. This is an active vineyard and deer are frequently lurking around wanting to get in - they will destroy what has taken years to build! Thank you.

Other things to note
There is a great grocery store in Middletown. Thai Buddha is a delicious take out Thai restaurant. Their food is excellent. Middletown has a number of wineries within about an 10 mile radius that are worth visiting as well. Unlike Napa there are not huge fees associated with tastings.

Three private, peaceful cottages in the mountains north of the Napa Valley. King Sized beds, skylights. Dogs are allowed in the Pisces or Aquarius Cottages, and one extra person can stay in either the Pisces or Virgo Cottages. Delicious continental breakfasts are served in your cottage.

Located 20 minutes from Calistoga, Napa Valley and Lake County Vineyards, and 10 minutes from Harbin Hot Springs in the Mayacama Mountains, just 2 hrs away from San Francisco, the Bay Area, or Sacramento. Backyard Garden Oasis is a peaceful respite for those wanting a nature-filled retreat surrounded by some of California’s most beautiful country.

Backyard Garden Oasis offers three separate, light-filled, contemporary cabins, each with it’s own deck, shower and bathroom, fireplace and air conditioning, as well as a refrigerator and coffee maker; making it the perfect retreat for those wishing to avoid crowds.

The cottages are simple but elegantly furnished with a king-sized bed with skylight above, a table and chairs for reading, writing, or snacking, and a refrigerator and coffee maker. For your comfort we have air conditioning and an overhead fan, and an electric fireplace. All the lights are on dimmer switches.

Each cottage also has a private spacious bathroom, a TV/DVD with satellite service. The channels include music, movies, and sports channels as well as local, Bay Area programming. We also provide large, soft cotton bath sheets, bathrobes and hair products. An extra thick single futon is set up to accommodate a third person in the Pisces or Virgo cottages.

Internet access is available in all the cottages as well as the main house’s covered patio and dining room. The Aquarius Cottage is wheelchair accessible with a shower big enough for a party!

A sliding glass door leads to a private redwood deck with patio furniture - enjoy watching the wildlife come and go, or watch the changing light on our lawns and gardens, the quail, the Manzanita Grove, the pond, waterfall or a clear view of Mt St Helena.

During the pandemic, breakfasts are all continental breakfasts served in your cottage. When it is over, on weekends and holidays a typical breakfasts starts with fresh orange juice and fresh fruit and proceeds to main dishes such as , Omelets or Eggs to your taste, with Bacon or Sausage, French Toast, Huevos Rancheros, Pancakes, Frittata, Pastries, Fresh Garden Salsa and fresh fruit and berries. We can accommodate most dietary needs including raw food or vegan breakfasts. Special requests are honored whenever possible. Each cottage has a refrigerator and coffee maker to make your own coffee or tea. Ask for a separate tea maker if you are a purist tea lover. We provide gourmet coffee and teas and fresh Half 'n' Half . These are also available at the main house with breakfast.

The Tangerine Lodge gets it's name from my beautiful tangerine colored couch that adorns the living room. When you walk in the door, you will want to go sit and relax under the high ceilings. From there, you can click on the electric fireplace either for heat, or ambiance, and watch the new flat screen TV.
New, memory foam, mattresses await you in the bedroom and charging stations on each bedside table.
Harbin is just three miles up the road, and Napa Valley 20' away.

Other things to note
I generally only allow small, well-trained dogs that will be with you the entire time. If you want to bring a dog, you must get pre-approval from me. I will want to know that you plan to be with your dog at all times, that they will not be allowed on the furniture, and that you will bring everything they need and pick up after them.

The space
House has four bedrooms:

1.) King bed in the main bedroom with an adjoining bathroom that includes a shower and a tub. You can find extra towels in the main bathroom cabinets.

2.) Queen bed in a bedroom with a bathroom next door.

3.) Queen bed in a bedroom

4.) Full-size bed in a room that adjoins the main bedroom (great for kids if you want to check on them), but can also lock for privacy.

Living room also has a couch that someone can crash on, if necessary, and an extra-wide La-Z-Boy chair that reclines.

Big kitchen with microwave, oven, toaster, blender, etc. Big indoor dining room table as well as an outdoor dining table on the back deck.

Speaking of the deck, you'll love sitting out there (lots of different seating options). Enjoy the scenery and the many different birds that you'll see in the valley.

Large 77" Internet-enabled OLED TV. Netflix, Hulu, etc. Settle in and enjoy some good movies.

High-speed Internet access courtesy of Starlink. You should have no problems with work video calls or download speeds.

There is a garage fridge that is usually stocked with (non-alcoholic) drinks--help yourself to whatever is in there!

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire 20 acres. There is a supply room off the kitchen that is locked, but otherwise feel free to use the entire home (including the garage) and surrounding acreage.

You will fall in love with this stunning valley as you travel along Butts Canyon Road. The road is lined with sights, including Guenoc/Langtry Farms Winery & Estate, which spans 4,200 acres and was originally owned by the famous 19th-century British socialite and actress Lillie Langtry.

As you continue, you'll discover a variety of charming wineries, including a local favorite, Pope Valley Winery, located just over the county line in Napa County.

This area is not only rich in history and natural beauty but also poised for exciting developments. It will soon be home to the luxurious Lotusland | Guenoc Valley resort and a Coore & Crenshaw-designed 18-hole golf course, promising even more attractions for visitors and residents alike.

Enjoy sitting on the back porch to watch and listen to a vast array of birds, including swallows, wrens, red-winged blackbirds, grosbeaks, towhees, sparrow hawks aka kestrel, hummingbirds, jays and the delightfully vocal and territorial killdeers.

This site was originally homesteaded by George Piner, an opera singer who a 1909 edition of the San Francisco Call dubbed, “...a rival to the great Caruso” [perhaps a bit of hyperbole!]. He traveled throughout Europe as “The Great Pinero” along with his soprano wife Corabelle. An accident at age 39 ended his singing career, but the couple opened a voice studio atop Nob Hill in San Francisco. The inseparable couple died a day apart in Kelseyville, California.

Check-in and check-out times:

Check-in time is 3 PM and check-out is 11 AM. If you need an adjustment to these times, please contact us ahead of time. Otherwise, your access code will expire. The cleaning person will usually arrive just after checkout.

Parking instructions: There is a 2-car garage and driveway, as well as an RV pad. Feel free to utilize whatever parking you need.

House rules:

Parties: No loud parties or large group events allowed. Sound travels in this valley, so please be respectful of our neighbors.
Speed Limit: Please respect the 10 MPH speed limit on Loconomi Road, as there is a dog kennel and horses and neighbors who are affected by the dust.
Smoking: This is a No Smoking property.
Pets: This is a pet-friendly home. Please clean up any hair or “accidents” from your pet or let us know of any accidents so the cleaners can give special attention to it. We have provided pet bowls, leashes and toys for your pet’s enjoyment. Please watch your pets outdoors as there are animals that you may not encounter in the city, like snakes and coyotes.
Children: Well-behaved children are always welcome.
Unregistered guests violate Airbnb rules.
Septic: Please be aware that this house utilizes an engineered septic system, Please do not flush feminine hygiene products or anything other than toilet paper down the toilet, as it can back up the system.
Damages: You have to pay for damages that exceed any security deposit.

Washer/Dryer: The washer has an automatic detergent dispenser, so you don’t need to add any unless it says “low detergent”; there are dryer sheets in the laundry room. Feel free to use the washer/dryer as you need.

AC/Heat: Generally, this is pre-set, but feel free to adjust for your comfort. When you leave, return the settings to what they were.

Amenities: In the hallway, there is a carousel of items that you may need or want to use while you are here: ear plugs, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, razors, shaving cream, etc. Please only take what you need so that I can continue to provide these things to others.

Robes/slippers: Check the closet in each bedroom for robes and slippers. The slippers with the black piping are the larger size (or check to see what size the slippers are). I also provide non-slip comfy socks. If you use the slippers or socks, they are, of course, yours to take with you!

Coffee & Tea: We have a tea and coffee service area. Tea infusers and coffee filters are in the cabinets, including a selection of teas and coffee. There is a hand-held coffee grinder as well as an electric grinder (also some people will grind a whole bag of beans in the Vitamix) for those who prefer whole beans.

How to use the TV: The owner’s manual for the TV and the sound bar should be in the bookcase under the TV. (Or just do an internet search for the guide.)

Music: There is a mobile bluetooth speaker in the kitchen. Pair with “Megaboom 3” - feel free to jam out, but don’t get too crazy because sound travels in the valley here!

Warning! We are making some improvements to the house that are not finished. Please be aware that the steps to the back deck have some gaps. Also, the glass door in the accessory bedroom should remain locked as it leads to an 18” drop. This property also sits on clay, which cracks in dry weather. Please be careful when walking on the property.

Sights to see and things to do:

Wineries: Lake County has become California's hottest new destination for wine tourism. The region is known for its dynamic volcanic soils, thanks to nearby Mount Konocti. There are over 160 winegrowers and 30+ wineries, specializing in volcanic-driven Cabernet Sauvignons, Sauvignon Blancs, Petite Sirahs, Cabernet Francs and award-winning Tempranillos.

Many of these wineries also grow and sell olive oil, lavender products and walnuts. Some favorite wineries are Wild Diamond (featuring some French varietals), Six Sigma (and their epic Tempranillo and Sauvignon Blanc), Langtry Estate (with wonderful outdoor seating) and the cozy, off-the-beaten path Stonehouse Cellars.

Harbin Hot Springs: Less than 15 minutes from Casa Loco’s front door you’ll find this rustic retreat, one of the oldest hot springs in California. The spa sits on a rural setting of 1,700 acres of meadows, hills, canyons, and creeks. They offer spring-fed pools, saunas, co-ed clothing-optional sunbathing and bodywork treatments, including Watsu® (Water Shiatsu). You can book online.

Calpine Geothermal Visitor Center: Speaking of hot water, check out this fascinating and educational visitor center in Middletown and learn about The Geysers and how hot water and steam is used to produce clean energy.

Golf: Lake County has become a popular destination for avid golfers and offers some wonderful public courses.
Brambles Golf Course
Black Rock Golf Course is the oldest and longest operating of five distinctive golf courses in Lake County. It was recently acquired and renovated by the operators of Moore Family Winery. They also offer Disc Golf and Bocce Ball. Call for reservations.
Adams Springs Golf Course was designed by legendary course architect Jack Fleming, who incorporated the majestic Cobb Mountain scenery into his layout. Call for reservations.
Kelseyville’s Buckingham Golf and Country Club is located on the shores of the Clear Lake, adjacent to the breathtaking volcano Mount Konocti. Call for reservations.
Riviera Hills Golf Club also sits next to these magnificent natural landmarks and offers tennis and swimming at its public course. They also offer a Sunday brunch and a selection of local wines. Call for reservations.
Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course is a 10 minute drive from our front door and features an 18-hole golf course, designed by Torrey Pines architect Billy Bell. Book a tee time online.

Farmers Markets Middletown has two Farmers Markets. The largest is at Middletown Square Park, and operates every Friday from April-August from 5-8 PM and from September-November from 4-7 PM. There is a smaller market that operates year-round in the Grocery Outlet parking lot from 10 AM-1 PM.

Middletown Art Center: Make sure to check out their website, as they offer art exhibits, live entertainment, a variety of craft classes, EcoArts, and are also available for private rentals.

Festivals:
Wine lovers, don’t miss the annual Barrels & Verticals event where you can taste wines from at least a dozen of Lake County’s finest wine makers. Generally held every February. Visit the Lake County Wine Association website for additional information and other viticultural events.
If cannabis is more to your liking, make sure to check out the Cannabis Cup at the Lake County Fairground in June. The event includes live music, awards for cultivators and demonstrations.
The most popular annual event is the Lake County Pear Festival in Kelseyville, held in the Fall. It includes food, wine, local artists and vendors, entertainment, and plenty of activities for kids!
Check out the Lake County Chamber of Commerce website for events that are happening during your visit.
Keep your eye out for the Lake County Quilt Trail Project, the first of its kind in California, which places painted quilt squares on highly visible barns and buildings throughout Lake County.

Restaurants:
Buddha Thai Kitchen offers the best Thai cuisine in Lake County. Dine in or order online for takeout.
La Monarca Market in Lower Lake has authentic Mexican food that is worth the drive. Take out only. Closer to the house is La Mixte.
The historic Blue Wing Saloon is the go-to place for special occasions or just some great burgers, pasta, fresh fish and live music Friday through Monday. It is worth the drive to North County.
Stone Fire Pizza has locations in Hidden Valley, Clearlake and Lakeport. Order online or eat in.
Greenview Restaurant at Hidden Valley. Popular local restaurant that also offers gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian options. Reservations and online orders available.

Casinos: If you feel like Lady Luck is on your side, check out Lake County’s casinos, which are all owned and operated by local Native American tribes.
Twin Pines Casino is just 10 minutes down the road and features gaming, dining and live entertainment, as well as special event rentals. The casino is owned and operated by the Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians and is open 24 hours.
Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino is owned and operated by the Robinson Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians. In addition to the usual gaming, entertainment and dining experience, they offer Bingo and mini-bowling.
In addition to gaming, Konocti Vista Casino offers a 90-slip marina and a full service 74-space RV Park. The entire operation is owned and run by the Big Valley Rancheria Tribe of Pomo Indians.

Hiking, Biking, & Running: There are over 70 trails for mountain biking, hiking, running or just a pleasant hike. They range from easy to Black Diamond, for the most experienced person ready for steep grades and challenging conditions. A favorite is Red Bud Trail, which features spectacular views from the top of the trail [picture below]. Six Sigma Winery also has incredible hiking and mountain biking trails.

Boating: Clear Lake is California’s oldest lake and has a well-deserved reputation as a boaters paradise. If you own a boat, you can easily find a public marina online. If you’re looking to rent a boat, there are about a dozen options for everything from a kayak to an outboard motor craft. Remember to bring sunscreen and a hat!

Shopping:
Your best bet for groceries is Hardester’s Market, which has locations in Hidden Valley, Middletown and Cobb. The Hardester’s in Middletown is the closest and has a great selection of groceries and people often stop there before coming to the house. Grocery Outlet in Hidden Valley also has an excellent selection at great prices.

Local Wildlife: Lake County is known for having the cleanest air in America, making it an ideal home for hundreds of species of birds, earning it an “Important Bird Area” (IBA) designation from the Audubon Society. It’s also home to the oldest free-ranging herd of tule elk, which can be spotted around the numerous trails surrounding Clear Lake and Cache Creek. Also keep your eyes out for coyotes, deer, mountain lions and twelve species of snakes (yes, we have rattlesnakes, so watch your step!).
