26 Salmon Drive is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin situated on the Trinity River in the remote and beautiful historic mining town of Lewiston. Steelhead and salmon fishing right from the river bank of the property combined with the Bucktail drift boat access directly across the river makes this getaway the optimal location for fisherman and outdoor enthusiasts.

This cabin is nestled in the trees set back off the Trinity River with a quiet scenic view of the pine trees from the large covered porch, which we have found perfect for relaxing and grilling after a day on the river. Our actual property extends all the way to the river bank, across the river from Bucktail Hole, however the house itself is set back about 100 yards from the river itself.

The house includes a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen complete with a new outdoor Weber gas grill. There is a dining table off the kitchen inside as well as a large dining table on the deck. This is a home away from home for us, so we try to keep all the typical cooking and dining essentials handy.

The master bedroom includes a queen size bed as well as a twin size day bed. The second bedroom has two extra long twin beds which is plenty of room for two adults. If you find yourself needing additional sleeping accommodations, we have a king size aero bed available as well. Linens and bath towels are provided as well as starter paper products.

The living room is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen and dining area with a 50' HD flat screen television with Direct TV. Free wireless internet. This house also has heating, air-conditioning, washer/dryer, and free long distance from the house phone. Smoke-free please and 'good' dogs welcome.

The Miner's in one word: enchanting. It is a tiny jewel of a place located just a few feet from the Trinity River. It's pet-friendly, has world class but challenging fishing right outside your door and exquisite river and mountain views.
As soon as it was available, we upgraded to a fast and unlimited internet supplier (fall/2017).
The Miner's Landing is a fabulous river rock patio with a fire pit & BBQ grill right next to the river. What beats a fire and watching the stars in the night sky?

Occasionally we approve a fourth guest who can bring a sleeping bag and sleep on a (provided) sleeping pad, but this is a small cabin and best enjoyed by 2-3. Note: To access the sleeping loft you will need to climb a ladder (as seen in photos). If climbing a ladder will pose and issue, this may not be the best cabin for you.

Minimalist cooking facilities, but there is a sink, convection/toaster oven, microwave, deep electric skillet and Farberware single-cup coffee maker with coffee pods and creamers included. There is a cool clock with mood lighting and nature sounds; you can plug your phone or pad into it to stream music.

Some of our parties have brought cast iron cookware and cooked on the fire pit/BBQ or their own tabletop Weber down on the landing. We were invited to drop in on one of them and visited while he fried gorgeous potatoes in cast iron over an open fire. He patiently turned each herb-seasoned chunk as we caught up with their travels. They had just spent a month in Europe, mostly Paris and some of Italy, but were anxious to return to the Miner's beside the river.

BBQ on the landing, or bring a camp stove and cook on the landing (please not in cabin; we have limited emergency response resources up here and a fire could be devastating). We have gas and Weber BBQs up on the main patio between Alpen Glow & Carriage House.

There is cookware, dining ware and serving ware. Dorm-sized refrigerator has a separate freezer for that all-essential pint of Ben & Jerry's, plus we supply a huge cooler with frozen water jugs to keep it cool. The bathroom features a roomy shower with the toilet in it (like you see on some boats and in some trailers).

We are always upgrading our cabins. We paved the main drive and put in a large parking lot at the entrance that's great for boats and vehicles, but Miner's guests have their own parking close to the cabin. All of our Steel Bridge cabins have Wi-Fi and late 2017 saw a switch to a fast and unlimited carrier. Yippee!
Time to unplug and recharge? You really are going to love this place.

We found everything comfortable and easy. Mary and Bob are uber hospitable and had every detail covered. We were able to store groceries in a separate fridge and do some ironing as needed. There was a generous coffee and tea station stocked with fresh fruit and delicious baked goods round the clock. The Country Cottage is a 1000 square foot free-standing home that is completely private. The property is completely fenced in with the exception of an entry gate. It is a brand new house, newly furnished, with top-of-the line kitchen appliances. There is a smart TV with in the family room and both of the bedrooms. There is backyard space for pets with a BBQ, pergola, fire pit and turf. The house boasts a definite country feel, but is about a 5 minute drive to Costco, In & Out, etc.

It's a one level home with only a few steps up into the main house, and another level a few steps down. The bedrooms are small and cozy (we do have one larger room) and the living spaces are very cozy. The Kitchen is outfitted with everything you need to cook or prepare food. If there's anything else you need, just let us know! We are happy to provide it for you! The washer and dryer work great and are available for all guests to use. There's free wifi and air conditioning and central heating.

Guest access
You can enjoy the front yard and front lawn, or kick back in the back patio. The street is very quiet and the neighborhood is very peaceful. We've been told the place is peaceful and lovely. Relax in the cozy couch and love seat in the living room, or do homework or study on the dining table. Or, make a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. This is a beautiful nicely updated house on a quiet street close to Bethel church. Step outside the house and you can hear the local birds and a few chickens near by. There are also Deer, turkey, and ducks close by, they regularly come and visit. A very short drive, walk or bike ride gets you to Bethel church, Simpson College, or Shasta College.

The space
We offer comfy and cozy beds and linens. Our rooms are clean and quiet. There is some light decor in your room and throughout the house. You have access to a full kitchen with everything you should need. We also offer a washer and dryer and detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets for your stay.

Guest access
You will have your own room, with your own key to the front door and a key to your own room. You can use the bathroom closest to your room and the common areas, the kitchen, the laundry area, and the living room. Also, feel free to enjoy the back patio and front yard.

If coming to Redding and traveling by plane we HIGHLY recommend you use a connecting flight from San Francisco Airport (SFO) and flying to Redding Airport. It takes 30 mins, and there are 3 flights a day.

Amtrak (passenger train) only comes to Redding once a day and it is typically at 2 or 3am for arrival. It’s about 4-5 hours via train from the Bay Area.

There is no access to the washer and dryer in the main house and we cannot do laundry during your stay.

The hallway is separated from the bedroom by a floor to ceiling privacy curtain. Walking distance to Civic Center / Sundial Bridge / river trail (Less than a mile).
