We do our best to maintain the furniture in the three seasons porch area; however, unpredicted weather and ocean mist can dampen the cushions/rug so we just want to be fully transparent with guests on the matter!

Scituate is a quaint seaside town that offers the charm of Cape Cod without the traffic. This friendly community boasts a beautiful harbor with unique speciality shops. There are grocery stores, a movie theater, a basketball court, a bowling alley, golf courses and many restaurants that will appeal to all ages.
This recently renovated cottage is situated on a private section of Sand Hills Beach and can accommodate 4 parked cars on the property. The beach is primarily stone studded but changes with every storm. Beach is accessed from 6 steps off the seawall and beach stairs are not available in September and October. (All beach photos are taken from the patio, water shoes are recommended.) A sandier public beach is 6 houses away. And there are several other public beaches within a 10 to 15 minute walk from the house.
The first floor has an open floor plan. And the well equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. There is a half bath with a stackable laundry unit off the kitchen and an outdoor shower head. (not enclosed). The dining room seats 8 comfortably and is open to the family room, which has A/C, a ceiling fan, comfy seating and a large screen TV above the fireplace. Games,toys,movies, puzzles, cards, wireless speaker and more can be found in the entertainment unit. And a wall of windows showcases the panoramic views.
A sliding glass door leads to a covered porch/patio and the open ocean. The patio has plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas, corn hole game, kayak, paddle board,life jackets,outdoor checkers and a propane grill.
The second level has a full bath with tiled shower stall ( no tub) and 4 modestly sized yet private bedrooms. The 4 bedrooms have A/C window units, closets and ceiling fans. 3 bedrooms have flat screen TVs.
Hardwood and tile floors along with white washed wooden ceilings are some of the updated finishes. The entire cottage has Wifi and is also heated. It is not available during the winter or for long term bookings. Rent based on 7 guests. Extra fees for the 8th guest will be applied. The sleeping arrangements can accommodate a MAX of 8 guests, including children and infants. Larger groups should keep in mind the cottage has limited space in bedrooms. And one indoor shower. Directly in front of the house is a rocky area - that was great to find crabs and other sea creatures at low tide (the 12ish year olds loved it). We felt so warmly welcomed into the house and loved that some left over condiments were kept in the fridge and cabinets to save us from buying every slice we might need. Beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, coffee to welcome us - the outdoor shower - the 2 levels of decking - make that 3 with the bedroom decks included - all the windows and two sets of screen doors…made the house perfect for a summer time experience. We also had such easy access to do other activities from there - we road bikes into the harbor to see the lighthouse and hang on the jetty, or to get lunch, when the kids wanted a break from the beach we drove to Starland, we did a ton. I can’t not mention - we could hear the ocean waves from every bedroom - whether beach facing or not - it was such a great way to fall asleep and wake up - bonus! We had a great week with many thanks to George for making us feel welcomed and at home."

Swim in front of the house or walk a block to the end of the street to access a public sandy beach with lifeguards.

Our extended family, ages 7-70, enjoyed every moment of this vacation and even decided to skip a trip to explore Boston to continue relaxing on the porch while watching the kids kayak, paddleboard, and play in the water. Scituate is a beautiful seaside community on the South Shore. The rooms are in a separate, private part of my home including a private bath, tub shower. Entry is through the dining room which is not available for the use of Airbnb guests (and isn't used when guests are here.) I provide a selection of coffees, teas, sugar, honey and sweeteners , Keurig & regular drip coffee maker, hot water kettle, microwave & refrigerator. In the bathroom, soap, shampoo, conditioner & hair dryer are provided.

The space
Entire private guest suite. 2 rooms, plus private bath. One bedroom has a double bed and TV with Roku for streaming local Xfinity cable stations, Prime, Hulu, etc. The other room has a twin bed, small kitchen table and chairs, 2 coffee makers, hot water kettle, microwave, refridgerator, dishes, flatware, mugs, etc.

Guest access
Uber and Lyft services are limited in this area, it is best to have a car. The commuter rail station with trains to Boston is 3/4 mile away in North Scituate Village, an easy walk or $4 to park.

During your stay
I give my guests space and respect their privacy but am available when needed. I work locally so I am around and can be reached easily by text. I have lived in this town for 39 years and know the area pretty well. I would be happy to help with making plans, restaurants, good places to walk or ride a bike, directions, etc. Occasionally I am not available in person but will be reachable by text or phone.

Other things to note
It is the perfect place to stay for events in the area, weddings, showers, graduations, concerts, etc., for business travelers, and those wanting to explore Boston, the South Shore and the Cape. The Heart of the Harbor flat is located on the first floor of a historic colonial house built by Captain Joseph Otis. The building is home to Murphy Carty Insurance Agency, as well as two private residences on the 2nd floor.

The apartment is simple and tasteful, approx. 700 sq. comprised of living room with a love seat, futon couch, a high top glass table and chairs for dining, roku smart tv, coffee table and a bookshelf with good reads. Down the hall and carpeted throughout is the bedroom with queen size bed, black out shades, charging station, white noise machine, antique desk and chair, distressed bureau and closet. The kitchen has a coffee maker, refrigerator, oven, stove, plates/cups, wine glasses, toaster oven, utensils, pots/pans and a high top table with chairs.

There are air conditioning units in both the living room and the bedroom.

Please Note: THE BATHROOM AND SHOWER ARE SMALL in size.* Similar to a bathroom on a boat. PLEASE CONSIDER WHEN BOOKING IF A LARGER BATHROOM IS PREFERRED. Bathroom has all the essentials, thick towels, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, hair dryer, makeup mirror.

Perfectly Scituated! Scituate is an idyllic seaside town. This is an upstairs of a single family home. The downstairs is an in-law with a separate entrance. There is a binder once you arrive with more information.
The house is located one and a half blocks from the ocean, and there is a small store (Dad’s) less than a block away. The harbor and lighthouse are a bike ride or walk away.
Our grill is not working, so a replacement is being delivered July 5th.
*Please note the 3 night minimum stay

The space
We have a great fenced in yard. Unfortunately, my children are allergic to cats, so we are not able to accommodate feline friends. If you do bring a dog, please dispose of waste in the outside garbage can beside the fence.
Beach parking passes are only issued to license tag numbers, so beach parking is limited. The best way is to get to the beach is by walking to Egypt beach or riding bikes. There are beach chairs, bikes, sports equipment, etc. for your use in the garage.
Lawn maintenance usually comes on Mondays, and trash pick up is on Thursdays.
The garage is very old, so please only use the right door. The rock will help keep the door closed.

My name is Maisie. My husband and I would like to welcome you to Carrageenan (Irish moss) Cottage. The name pays homage to our Irish ☘️ roots, and to the origin of harvesting Irish moss - which began on Museum Beach (steps down the road) - in 1847 by Daniel Ward.

LOCAL AREA:
A 12 minute charming stroll through the Scituate Historical District will bring you to the heart of Scituate! An array of restaurants - including sub shops, cozy pubs, and high end restaurants - offer dining options for every palate. The shopping is fabulous! There are many unique shops that offer souvenirs for every price range. There is also a rich maritime presence in Scituate. Fishing boat charters are at the ready!

THE HOUSE:
1st floor: galley kitchen has a reverse osmosis water filtration system - which provides clean drinking water; laundry; half bathroom; open living room/dining room area; small bedroom; sunroom.
Outside the kitchen is a covered back porch. Perfect for morning coffee! The living room/dining room area is great for family gatherings. Board games and a deck of cards make for a cozy game night! Off of the living room is an airy, breezy sunroom, containing a trundle bed that sleeps two people. The small first-floor bedroom has a room darkening curtain - in lieu of a door - due to its unique setup. This is the perfect room for an older family member who does not want to walk upstairs.

2nd floor: the primary suite; full bathroom; kids room. The primary suite contains a king bed, dresser and window seat. The hallway closet has ample room to hang clothes and contains extra blankets for chilly nights. The kids room has a queen bed and a bunk bed - it sleeps 4 comfortably! All bedrooms have room darkening curtains. The full bathroom has a tub shower.

BEACH INFORMATION:
5 minute WALK to Museum Beach. There is no parking available at this beach; our cottage is in a very accessible location!
8 minute WALK to Sand Hills Beach. Scituate Beach sticker required to park. Walking is key! Off season parking is available.

There is a washer and dryer located in the garage at basement level which must be accessed using the outdoor staircase. The first floor is surrounded on three sides by a balcony overlooking the ocean, lighthouse, and harbor.

The cottage has a fenced backyard with a wooden play structure for the kids. Also we have bikes for kids and adults in the garage for guess use.
The house has an outdoor shower in the back if guess would like to use it when they come from the beach.

The space
FIRST FLOOR
The living room has a large slip covered sofa. In case of spills, just unzip and throw in the wash! Here you’ll find the smart television but unfortunately, the fireplace does not work. A bright and cozy sunroom provides more seating. It’s a great spot to curl up with a book! In the wooden chest in the foyer, you’ll find games for guests of all ages!

A stocked chef’s kitchen has everything you need from pots and pans to ziplock bags. The coffee bar includes ground coffee, cream and sugar. Tea and a kettle are available as well.

The bathroom has mini size shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap. Bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes are provided for each guest. Extra towels can be found in the linen closet next to the bathroom.

The laundry room is equipped with a washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. There are laundry detergent pods for you to use as well.

If you’re heading to the beach, the front door closet holds two beach chairs, two coolers, four beach towels, a wagon and sand toys!

SECOND FLOOR
There are four bedrooms upstairs: 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed and 1 room with 2 bunk beds (4 twin beds total). Each room has a sound machine, a window AC unit for warmer months and the bedding is so soft and comfortable! There are two closets available. In one of the closets, you’ll find a pack and play with extra sheets and two baby gates. There is also a desk with fast WiFi for those who need it.

OUTDOOR SPACE
A grill with an attached propane tank and the outdoor shower are located on the deck. A teak outdoor dining table with seating up to 8 guests is the perfect place to dine Al fresco within the peaceful backyard.

There is parking available for up to 3 cars in the driveway.

Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of storage areas such as the secured closet and garage.

Our house is old but that’s why we love it - it’s unique and charming! First, as stated in our listing, there is only one full bathroom and it’s on the first floor. There is also an outdoor shower located on the deck. It’s a great place to use right after the beach! Second, the stairs leading to the second floor are narrow and steep. We recently added a safer railing that wraps around the entire staircase.

Stone’s Throw Cottage is a dream come true for us- we hope it will be for you, too! We have stayed in many short term rentals and wanted to create an experience we knew we would love and we can’t wait to share it with you!

First of all, having all the amenities of home was important to us- from the kitchen, to the bathroom, to the bedrooms and even the den, we tried to think of all the things we’ve forgotten in the past or wished we had at our previous stays. Whether you’re visiting family, having a weekend beachside retreat, or working remotely, we think we have everything you are looking for!

The kitchen is newer with good quality appliances, dishes, cutlery, knives and pots and pans. We have non-breakable sets of everything for the kiddos too! (We didn’t forget our dog friends- there’s a set of bowls for you too, buddy!) We’ve included some basic baking and cooking items, such as some spices, oils and foil, plastic wrap and even baggies! The coffee bar is stocked with many types of keurig coffee, tea and even hot chocolate. (There’s a kettle for boiling water.)

The bathroom is stocked with quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There are q-tips, cotton balls, cotton rounds, a great hairdryer, and curling iron. We even have some extra basic items in case you forgot them. If you forgot something we didn’t think of, Dad’s convenience store is a 1 minute drive (or 9 minute walk) down the road. Our towels are thick and fluffy and there are super soft, black makeup towels for removing makeup. There are two storage towers in the shower so everyone will have room for their own things, nothing getting knocked off the ledge while you shower! The water pressure is great, too!

In the bedrooms, the bedding is soft, comfy and plentiful- there are several kinds of pillows in each room, so you should be able to find your perfect comfy combo! For the cooler months, the plush blankets are super cuddly and warm! For the summer, there are AC units for the windows! There are Roku TVs in two of the three bedrooms. Plenty of closet space! In the closet for the 2nd and 3rd bedroom there is a full size ironing board with a good iron. There is also a carpet cleaner in case of accidents.

Downstairs, the living room was made with families in mind. The sectional is from Home Reserve. (Look it up!) The fabric repels spills and stains making it great for kids and pets, so relax and enjoy! Should something major get on the covers, simply throw in the wash on gentle/cold and air dry. Put back on while damp and voila! Like new! There are two more roku TVs downstairs- bring your streaming service logins! There are puzzles and games in the hidden storage under the sofas cushions!

Speaking of laundry- the washer and dryer are new and ready for you, so you can bring less clothes than you normally would. If you want! Also, who doesn’t love going home from vacation with all clean clothes!

If you need to work while at the Cottage, the Wi-Fi is fast, the desk in the den is big, faces a window and has some basic supplies, such as pens, post its, scissors, a stapler and even sharpies! (If you’re worried about your kids getting these, please feel free to hide them for the duration of your stay!) If you want a break from work, there’s a Nintendo Classic Mini for the family to enjoy- just plug in to the HDMI to play! Feel the nostalgia! There’s also a sound core Bluetooth speaker for great sound if you’re a music lover.

If you forgot your chargers, don’t worry, we got you covered- there are universal charger cords all over the house! Each lamp on all of the bedside tables also has 2 USB ports if you need them!

You love dogs, we love dogs! Bring up to two furry, well-behaved and potty-trained friends! Please bring your buddies their own towels and blankets to use during their stay.

Please note: our house is old! There are some wonky things to be aware of before you arrive! First of all, as noted in the listing, there is only ONE bathroom and that bathroom is downstairs. There are three different spots where the floor level on the main floor changes creating small steps- please watch your step! If you have mobility issues this may not be the home for you. Second, there is a chimney/ pillar going RIGHT THROUGH the middle of the second bedroom (Check second bedroom photographs.) Next, the third bedroom is accessed by walking THROUGH the second bedroom (by the oars on the wall you can see in the photos). It does have its own door for privacy but you must walk through the second bedroom to get in or out of the third room. Finally, the stairs are narrow and they will definitely give a nice, old-house creaky sound when you go up and down them. We find these quirks charming, but we know not everyone may agree, so now you can decide for yourself!

The space
On the Rocks is the quintessential New England cottage, "perfectly Scituated" on the ocean in Cedar Point. Literally steps from the Scituate Lighthouse and beach, famous Sandhills General Store and all that the area has to offer. Start the day with a coffee on the deck overlooking the Atlantic and end it with a cocktail in the same spot! In between, relax on the beach and explore the lighthouse. Take a trip to Front Street to shop, sip and dine with some of the South Shore's finest establishments.

Our home is a cozy, early 1900's cottage that is perfect for a small family gathering in our favorite summer destination.
