Animal friendly 1900's remodel farm house. Great for 2 couples! 1 mile from Berlin,10 minutes from Ocean City and Assateague. Berlin and Assateague are both dog friendly. The Ocean room is the master with a kind bed on the second floor with bathroom. The Bay Room is on the second floor, double bed. Bathroom on first floor. Has a kitchen, living room, sun room, outdoor bar and kitchen and patio. My boyfriend, Lee and I live on the back of the property in a camper. So we are right here if you need anything or have any questions.

The home was super clean and pet friendly . the area was quiet and super convenient to get to everything 10 minutes to Assateague beach/park to see the wild horses and we seen plenty of them, and only about 15 minutes to ocean city beach and boardwalk. Also don’t see the city of Berlin there is plenty of restaurants and antiques shops . I will definitely be back and if you are considering this place give them a try you will not be disappointed."

A cool little local area is sunset marina in west ocean city, about a 10 min drive from the apartment. Its a local commercial fishing harbor with lots of great restaurants! Pretty much all the restaurants are right on the water, you can sit back and check out the boats!

Stay just a few blocks from downtown and absorb the coastal scene, but from a small country town? Locals see the town as a perfect place, the ocean and beach are at their fingertips, but away from the traffic and the headaches of the resort city. Some are natives, born and raised, working on the boardwalk or at restaurants as kids, while off from school for the summer, year-after-year. A few, who found their passion in the service industry, are now living their best dreams. Thankfully, they chose Berlin as the location of their well thought out menu, or vision of a perfectly stocked boutique, or passion of concocting the perfect beverage. The Sunshine House places you perfectly between a few of these risk-takers, located between the downtown hub and the north side of town with the brewery less than 2 blocks away, with wood-fired brick-oven pizza and new distillery beyond.

The quaint, colonial style home went through its own “revitalization” recently. I doubled the square footage to accommodate my two children, and finally, just finished a fourth bedroom. To that, adding 1.5 baths with all new (except where purposely left) finishes, fixtures, windows, appliances, electrical, plumbing, etc most all modern amenities. Tile and hardwood, retained and refinished pine flooring, granite countertops, wood-burning stove, exposed ceilings are a few of the highlighted features.

This home's quiet neighborhood is welcome whenever I return to the area. Guests will safely park off-street in the driveway, which can accommodate up to 3-4 vehicles. All outdoor areas, decks, seating, gas grill, etc. are for the exclusive use of Sunshine House Guests. Inside the home, you’ll find the laundry washer and dryer, adjacent full kitchen with appliances, big and small, and all the essentials to prepare meals. The open layout flows though the dining area, living room, and across the front of the home to the foosball table promote a little friendly competition. - "Perfect location for our stay (2 adults) while we were touring nearby locations. Place was in clean and top condition and building has great touch of history. Owners are super nice and we felt very welcomed. After the first day of breakfast we felt we were part of their family. Breakfast: Top of the line breakfast which included 4 courses and met all our dietary needs (my spouse is gluten free and vegetarian). Bedroom comfort: comfortable/clean and had all needed amenities (extra pillows, blankets, fan , bed lamps, etc). Bathroom: Probably one of the best hot shower I had in a long time while being away from home. Super clean showers/sink and toilet. Snow Hill: It is quite scenic town. there are couple of small restaurants and bar in downtown (which is about 8 min walk from the place). Most of the town is dead by 5pm except couple of restaurants. In house entertainment: there are several games (outdoor) available and i did notice heater are available if it gets cold Overall: Will definitely be topic pick to say if in the neighborhood."

If you decide to explore Chincoteague/Newport Bay, keep in mind that the outer edges of the creek's turns tend to offer deeper water. Visualize the way water naturally carves a path during tides – this can help you identify and avoid shallow areas. The bay is more shallow in some places than you might expect. There is a depth chart in the house to assist.

Close to everything yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. House decor is perfect. Not too beachy yet quite stylish and relaxing. Sooo many rooms, beds and sofas to enjoy. Awesome screened in sunroom and Water views from just about everywhere in the house. If no water view, then it's woods and fields. Huge tall windows that show the trees and light that you feel like you're sleeping outside. Place was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything for your stay. Lots of birds, crabs and other woodland and canal critters to enjoy. Rooftop deck has a spectacular view of canal. Beds cozy and very comfortable. We even enjoyed the firepit one morning. Truly highly recommend this lovely home to anyone wanting a home away from home. Host David is wonderful and was very helpful with our questions regarding the house and surrounding area. Berlin was voted the coolest small town in America a few years back. With its historic down-to-earth charm just 15 minutes from the shores of the Atlantic, you’ll understand why. Downtown we have dining and sweets — seafood or farm-to-table, sandwiches or pizza, a local creamery for sundaes and cones, and shops for desserts and treats. After-hours, walk to any of Berlin’s watering holes: a renowned craft brewery, historic bars, hip socials, or a wine bar. For starting the day we have quality coffee and a juice bar to set your body right.

Amidst the epicurian offerings there’s opportunity to shop at your leisure, from home decor and kitchen wares, to fashion, to toys, to beach inspired merchandise. We have olive oil, art galleries, vinyl records, and surf inspired shops. Add to this a wonderful independent book store whose walls are covered with works of acclaimed local artists and shelves lined with good reads for your vacation.

The Hermitage
Zen on Main St is a little dojo in bungalow south of town center; a retreat hidden in plain sight. Two quiet, comfortable bedrooms and a relaxing living room make this space restorative and inviting. Meditate or do yoga. Settle in and relax on the couches. Unwind with music or stream movies and series. The kitchen is ready to be cooked in, and our breakfast nook is equally fantastic as a place to sit for long chats over meals. However you define ‘retreat,’ our hermitage can accommodate you.

Furnishing the bungalow are wooden couches, tables and chairs from our travels. We lived for a long time in Taiwan with frequent trips to Japan and Southeast Asia — working, living the culture, training in Zen and tai chi. And we want to share that experience with you.

Sand and Waves
Whether your beach preference is ‘coastal resort’ or ‘back to nature’, in less than fifteen minutes you can be in either type of seaside sweet-spot. On the one hand you can head to Ocean City, MD, for food, nightlife, amusements, a boardwalk, and beach-going. If you prefer grassy dunes and wildlife, Assateague National Seashore, with its wild ponies, inviting waters (surf side or bayside), and white sands will be your speed.

Season by Season
Being in Berlin, and on the Maryland coast, Zen on Main offers magic year round. In the winter, life withdraws and slows a bit but does not stop. This is a great time for quiet getaways. And the beaches can be yours for contemplative walks without the crowds.

In the spring, naturally the world wakes up, and our town is great for getaways of long weekends or weekday escapes. People come for the flowers, ocean walks, cycling or fishing adventures.

Summertime, Zen on Main is a **great** way to do the weeklong beach vacation. Are you looking for something less chaotic than a resort? Consider a retreat to Berlin — perfect for classic small town summer evenings after days in the sand and sun. This is experiencing the beach the way the locals do, returning to the house, hosing off the sand, and getting into evenings of crickets, cookouts, cicadas and ice cream.

Autumn — well at first it’s Indian Summer, when the water’s still warm, but the crowds have thinned and the air cools just a bit. Still beach season, but better. Then the colors turn the air cools more, and again it’s great for long bike rides, fishing trips and outdoor adventures — all with a warm and cozy place to return after the day’s adventures.

Add to all this the town’s festivals and events — from April through October, Berlin hosts festivals every two to three weekends: Jazz & Blues, to Cruisers, Independence Day, the Peach Festival, the Fiddlers Convention and Oktoberfest. Berlin is a fun town of locals who have a great approach to life. We ask that you come to join us and join OUR speed. While party vacations can be lots of fun, those are better suited for Ocean City (or any big city, or a weekend in Vegas). Here — please have fun, but in a more down tempo and restorative way. While there is no smoking at our property, certainly feel welcome to enjoy cocktails, beer and wine with your those in your reservation group, but we don’t allow parties. You’ll find Berlin’s after-hours tends to wind down about 9:30-10:00 pm, when we roll up the sidewalks. The neighborhoods quiet down, and loud parties are not well received. Again: there’s nothing wrong with that kind of vacation, but there are better places.

This is a great little efficiency room for a quick overnight stay for those that are just looking for a place to rest traveling up or down the coast Great location for local wedding venues

Other things to note
This room is next to my kitchen but has its own entrance and the door is locked on either side. That being said we are as quiet as we can be and have respect for your privacy and serenity.

Take a wander off the beaten path for cozy, quiet setting where all the stars come out at night. Quick access to area parks, rivers, ocean & beaches for water activities of all sorts and great country backroads that are cycling friendly!

Unplug & relax from the hectic city life. The screened back porch offers outdoor dining with shaded mornings and fantastic evening sunsets. Kickback and enjoy a firepit with smores.

The spacious backyard is great for tents or a camper.

The space
The "back bay" beach country offers amazing sunrises, sunsets, and night skies. The large yard is great for outdoor fun when you're back from other adventures. There are piles of games, books, and movies for indoor entertainment.

Note: Cell phone reception is hit or miss in this area. The internet is satellite based which can be limited by storms and NASA shutdowns. Be ready to disconnect from city life.

It's the country. Please don't be surprised by normal insects and small animals that may cross the property. CALL IMMEDIATELY In Case Of Emergency. A property manager is on call as well. Oct-May the home may experience periods of vacancy in between cleanings and the next guest which might mean you encounter a little stagnancy. House temperature is kept economical to keep your costs reasonable.

NOTE: "Country" means well water. The water is tested clean straight out of the ground and there is also a conditioning system that makes a distinct clicking noise whenever water is running (ie while washing dishes, bathing, & flushing the toilet).

My place is close to art and culture, restaurants and dining, great views, family-friendly activities. Within walking distance of three lovely parks and the Pokomoke River. . You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the private bathroom, the high ceilings, and the coziness. You will be on the 2nd floor with a recently installed Acorn chairlift for those requiring assistance with stairs. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

Our home is located in the historic district of Snow Hill, a small town founded in the mid 1600's. We have a home with a beautiful, serene and somewhat secluded outdoor living space. Our guests are welcome to use the yard, the deck and even the fire pit if they are so inclined. It is a wonderful place to curl up with a good book. And we are within walking distance of our small business district.

Our guests are welcome to use our lovely front veranda looking out on our neighborhood. There is ample seating for all. We also have a beautiful deck off the kitchen which is a serene setting to have your coffee or any libation you choose. There is a large yard with seating around a fire pit and a picnic table which is prime viewing for our very entertaining chickens. The yard is shaded by many beautiful, old trees including a huge pecan, black walnut and a magnolia.

Beebe is a 32ft Carver located Baywater Landing Marina, on the Chincoteague Bay. This craft is perfect for entertaining- ft. a wet bar and plenty of seating inside and on the top deck! You have un-matched views over-looking the saltwater marsh. Baywater Seafood is located at the marina where you can get Blue Crabs, Bay Scallops, and Oysters. While this is an active marina for local watermen, it remains a peaceful slice of Maryland's coast. ~35 mins to Ocean City, Assateague Is, Chincoteague Is.

Walking into the houseboat you will see the full bed on the walk in level. It is an open room although sleeping areas are separate. Go down three stairs and there will be a bedroom to the right with a step down and low ceilings. There is a door and this is the room with two single beds. Then there is another space for sleeping if needed (size of a cot bed) located in the dinning area and has a close off curtain for privacy.

all areas on boat are available to access accept storage under main boat deck. Toilet paper is located in the bathroom behind the sliding door. Marina beach, grill and picnic tables are available for guests to enjoy and cook.

Other things to note
Please do not bring children under age 7-8. Life jackets are in the containers in the front of the boat. Life jackets are different sizes but not suitable for young small children, babies or infants. Safety needs to be top of mind when kids come on the trip. We hope everyone stays safe and enjoys their stay.

Our cozy, rustic, beachy apartment is close to all the area has to offer! We are nestled between Snow Hill and historic Berlin off Rt 113. We are about 15 min from West Ocean City and 12 miles from Assateague. Dining, shopping, and family activites are also nearby including a public boat ramp 5 min away to launch small watercraft and a playground with pavilion across the street. We recently renovated the apartment, and the decor was chosen to make guests feel at home at the Shorehouse!

The space
The apartment is part of a larger home but has its own private driveway. Much of the materials used for the renovation were recycled from renovating the house. The area is quiet and there is a large yard with plenty of relaxing spaces to enjoy, including a huge swinging chair and hammock. A firepit is available to enjoy a night in the rural setting away from the crowds of OC. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cooking items if you plan to eat in or use the outside grill. There is also a tea and coffee bar.

** For those seeking aquatic adventures with powered watercraft, we recommend taking advantage of the nearby public boat launch situated at the end of the street. It’s important to note that returning to the house’s dock can be challenging with tidal water and shallow depths, so relying on the public launch ensures a smoother experience.

If you decide to explore Chincoteague/Newport Bay, keep in mind that the outer edges of the creek's turns tend to offer deeper water. Visualize the way water naturally carves a path during tides – this can help you identify and avoid shallow areas. The bay is more shallow in some places than you might expect. There is a depth chart in the house to assist.

Guests have access to most of the house. Some hall and bathroom closets are locked for host storage.

The laundry room remains a private space but can be made available for extended stays upon request.

Outside, guests have access to the screened-in porch, dock, firepit, front porch and the upstairs balcony. The shed is currently for owner access only.

We have sprayed for poison ivy around much of the house and yard. However, it is prevalent in the surrounding wooded areas. We do not recommend walking through the woods around the house on our property.

We do recommend bringing sunblock and deep woods-level bug repellent. When the ocean breeze is blowing, the bugs are not generally too persistent, but when the air is still they can be troublesome.

We do NOT recommend swimming in the creek. Since it is *TIDAL WATER*, it can be shallow. Mud can get deep and difficult to navigate. It more suited to kayaks or other small boats and watercraft. (I shouldn't have to say it, but no horseplay on the dock. Don't jump or dive off the dock. You're going to have a bad time. Even at high tide, it isn't very deep.)

At present, we offer two sit-on kayaks during the Spring, Summer and Fall. You must agree to a liability waiver to use them. If that is not enough to accommodate your group there are several rental options nearby.

Please stay off neighbors' properties and respect their boundaries, including Marshall Creek Farm. If you wish to visit Marshall Creek Farm, please arrange an appointment. You can find contact information with a quick web search.

When boating or walking around the area, you are likely to see "No Trespassing" signs. Please respect them for everyone's wellbeing.

You can launch boats at the public boat ramp at the end of the street. If you wish, you may tie your boat to our dock, though we don’t recommend it with powered watercraft. Be aware that navigation can be difficult, especially at low tide. Water depth can vary greatly by day, time, weather, etc. When navigating the creek, water depth tends to be greater on the outside of curves. You've been warned.

If you brought a powered boat with you, we suggest you use the nearby public boat launch. Even east of the launch there can be shallow spots further up Marshall Creek. (Deeper water is generally on the outside of the creek's corners. Consider how the tides coming in and out would cut a path.)

Always have paddles on hand and be aware that while beautiful and expansive, Chincoteague Bay doesn't have much boat traffic. That's mostly a good thing, but bad if you need help. It may be quite a while before another boater spots you.

There is a depth chart near the kitchen. Cellular reception is generally very good, even in the middle of the bay, but have a plan in case you run into trouble.

This cottage is 10 feet from the water. You'll wake up on a quiet slice of heaven. The road side faces the west for a beautiful sunset over the quiet corn field. The back side, faces the East. You look directly across at Assateague Island over the Bay.

The space
The cottage has 2 dedicated bedrooms with doors, the 3rd sleeping space is on the waster side, it's what used to be a screened porch but is now fully enclosed within the house. This bed is a daybed which converts into a King bed. The 2nd bedroom has a double bunk bed, so it could actually hold 4 people.

The kitchen is small and modest, but recently updated. It's also fully equipped, including a coffee maker and all standard kitchen appliances + dish ware. There is no dishwasher.

The living room is cozy and has a large marble island, great for games or just reading with your feet up.
