Our rental is conveniently situated in the heart of Potsdam, offering easy access to the town`s vibrant culture, educational institutions, and recreational activities. A prime location for the Canton-Potsdam Hospital medical facilities, Clarkson University, and SUNY Potsdam.
Guests are provided a `Guest Guide` which outlines our rules and expectations for things such as where to put the trash, cleaning, Wi-Fi access, etc.

Check-in is 4pm and check-out is 11am. Should you desire an earlier check-in or later check-out time, please inquire to owner for availability and if there is a fee.

Housekeeping may arrive promptly at 11am on check-out day. We understand check-out morning can be challenging for guests, however, we have a very small window of time to properly prepare the residence for the next guest arrival. Late departures cause us to incur added expenses and last minute staff adjustments. Unfortunately, because of this, we will charge a `late departure` fee of $50 after 15 minutes and every 30 minutes thereafter if the property has not been vacated.

House Care & Cleaning Expectations:
Our cleaning fee covers a standard turnover cleaning — sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens, laundering linens & re-making beds, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and general tidying. It does not include maid service during your stay, deep cleaning, or cleaning up excessive messes. It is expected that our home, it’s contents, and the property be treated respectfully and in a prudent manner.
Please help us keep our home comfortable and welcoming for every guest by following these guidelines:
• Food debris — clean up food messes to avoid attracting critters.
• Dishes — should be washed and can be left clean in the dish rack or in the dishwasher to dry.
• Respect our cleaners — do not leave any “bodily eruption messes” (vomit, blood, urine, feces, etc.)
• ALL Furniture, Equipment, Housewares — return items back to their original places.
• Bath Linens — place all used bath linens in the laundry baskets provided.
• Bed Linens — our team will take care of stripping beds and wash the laundry.
• Trash —all garbage should be placed in the service bin at the road; do not any leave personal trash inside or outside the home.
• Toys & Games — make sure all toys and game pieces are put away neatly where they belong.

Extra time for things like trash clean up, spills, food on walls, moving furniture, sorting toys, or excessive mess may result in additional charges.

This property features a seasonal outdoor pool and rooms with microwaves. The property overlooks the St. Lawrence River and offers access to a boat slip and fishing dock. A refrigerator is standard in all Stone Fence Resort rooms. The rooms are also equipped with cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Guests at the Stone Fence are provided with daily breakfast buffet. The property also features a tennis and basketball court. The Stone Fence is 3 miles from the Remington Art Museum. The Odgensburg/Prescott International Airport is within a 20-minute drive of the property.

Beth's Place II is a new, beautifully furnished apartment that was built in March 2020. It is located above our garage and offers complete privacy. The apartment has one bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed, a living room with a twin-size sleeper sofa, and a full-size Murphy bed that can be pulled down as needed. The well-equipped kitchen features a full-size stove, a dining area, and everything you need to prepare a meal. There is also a lovely full bathroom with a washer and dryer, towels, washcloths, and basic toiletries.

The apartment has a private entrance with 14 steps leading up to the front door and has ample parking spaces.

Guests can relax and unwind in their private outdoor space, complete with a hot tub and stunning river views. The outdoor area also features chairs, a fire pit, a grill, and beautiful lights at night.

Our property itself is also quite lovely, and guests are welcome to use our brand-new pickleball court installed in September 2023, and the putting green in the front yard. The Raquette River, which flows right behind our house, is also available for our guests. The trail leading down to the river has handrails to make it easier to navigate, and we also provide kayaks and a fire pit down by the river for our guests.

Our stretch of the Raquette River flows all the way to downtown Potsdam, making it an excellent opportunity to kayak there and explore the town. Please note that kayaking is only available from May to November. We cover the putting green once it starts to snow.

Beth's Place - celebrating 10 years in business in 2024 - offers complete privacy on the ground floor of our home. It includes a cozy bedroom with a queen-size bed, a spacious living room with a queen-size sleeper sofa, a well-equipped kitchen with all the essentials for meal preparation, a dining area, and even a gas grill for outdoor cooking. The space also features a nice full bathroom with a tub/shower, towels, basic toiletries, a private entrance, and ample parking. Additionally, we can arrange two twin beds in the living room, accommodating up to 6 guests comfortably. There is a washer and dryer in the unit for convenience.

Guests will enjoy two private outdoor areas – one facing the putting green and pickleball court (installed 9/2023) in the front and another at the back with a grill, hot tub, and a river view. The hot tub is open year-round and is exclusively for the current guests of the unit. Our other unit, Beth's Place II, also has its own private hot tub. The igloo in the backyard is open year-round and shared with guests of the other unit, featuring string lights, seating, and a heater for colder months.

Beth's Place II is situated on the same property as Beth's Place, offering an alternative for different dates or to accommodate more guests.

Please note, we have a small dog on the upper floors of the house who is usually quiet but may bark briefly to announce arrivals.

Our property boasts a putting green and pickleball court in the front yard and access to the Raquette River at the back. The trail to the river has handrails on steep sections. Guests can enjoy kayaks, a fire pit, and a private beach by the river, with a swimmable stretch of the Raquette River (water shoes recommended) leading to downtown Potsdam. Kayaking is available from May to November, and we convert the putting green during snowy months.

The shoreline supplies a sandy, gradual decline into the water, two kayaks and a canoe, and ample space to take it all in with a fire pit and surrounding Adirondack chairs.

Enjoy 200 ft of waterfront all to yourself! This camp provides ample indoor/outdoor living with an oversized screened in porch. The Grasse River is perfect for Kayaking and highly sought after by fishing enthusiasts.

The master bedroom has a king-sized bed with a loft area that is best suited for children who are able to independently climb a ladder. The living room is equipped with a pull-out couch (queen) as well as a pull-out chair (twin). There are sliding barn doors on the living room for added privacy.

Outdoor living at it's best! Previous guests have enjoyed viewing bald eagles, deer, herons and other wild life. There are multiple outside decks and a covered front porch. Relax by the fire pit with Adirondack chairs overlooking the river. You will find a large gas grill on the deck for summer cookouts.

The camp is stocked and ready with all kitchen essentials, board games, DVDs, 2 Netflix-enabled televisions and a starter arrival package of toilet paper, paper towels and dish soap. There is a washing machine, however, the dryer is not hooked up at this time. A clothing line is available outside for drying.

- "Beautiful family camp on the water. The river is too fast too kayak, at least for us, on this part of the Grasse River. We didn't see anyone in the river here. It has a very strong current. It sounds wonderful when enjoying the beautiful screenroom, deck or llawn area at the river. There are beautiful views of the river & the property is wooded & the gardens are pretty. There is a nice campfire area on the side of the camp. The kitchen has everything that we needed. The bed & furniture was comfortable. The water from the taps is sulpher water & we didn't expect that. You can't smell it much when using hot water for shower & dishes, but otherwise you can. We bought water for coffee, drinking & brushing teeth, etc. The screen room was my favorite room. Unfortunately we had an emergency & had to leave. We were very sad to leave such a relaxing environment."

We have in included four kayaks and one canoe for your pleasure. Sit and relax on the small sand beach right next to the dock.

The cabin is a level drive from the road, making loading and unloading very convenient. There is only a slight incline from the cabin to the water's edge, no stairs! A favorite morning activity is sipping a cup of coffee on the dock watching the beautiful sunrise over the trees and shimmer on the water is.

Evening campfires overlooking the water give enjoyment to all and make lasting family memories. Enjoy the cabin peace and quiet along with all the outdoor activities the Adirondack Park has to offer.

Use the cabin as your complete get away, work remotely (yes there is internet)or as a home base to enjoy the surrounding Adirondack activities. Explore the areas other streams and ponds, hiking, fishing, mountain climbing, and camping out. The cabin is in walking distance of the Wanakena footbridge, tennis and basketball courts.

WINTER time is so picturesque on the lake. Activities can include snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing or downhill skiing at one of the nearby ski resorts. Enjoy sitting by the warm, cozy wood stove reading a book and watching the snowfall.

A public boat launch is available in the town of Cranberry Lake.
The main house is 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. There is a separate sleeping cottage with a sleeping loft and sitting area, see photos. This sleeping cottage is not including in the bedding configurations and is only useable in the summer months and separate from the house.

Experience the beautiful Adirondacks in a rustic, yet cozy cabin. Dragonfly and River Rat are located on 9 private acres situated along the bank of the Oswegatchie River. There are only 3 cabins on the property, rent the 2 and bring the whole family or just rent 1 and still feel like your secluded. We stay in the 3rd cabin for the season.

River Rat cabin has a queen bed in a private bedroom with a window air conditioner. In the main living area there is a bunk bed and a twin mattress up in the loft area. Kitchenette is equipped with a full refrigerator, 2 burner stove top, coffee maker, toaster oven, and a propane grill on the porch. Pots, pans, dishes and utensils are all stocked up. Cabin does not have running water. The bathroom is located in a separate building a short distance from the cabin. The bathhouse contains two private bathrooms, one for each cabin. There is a large utility sink on the outside of the bathhouse to wash dishes. Large dining table to seat 5. Small living area with couch and chair to relax on. Comfortable chairs on the screened in front porch. Outside is a hammock, and your own fire pit with camp chairs and a picnic table. Common ground area that is shared with us and the other cabin has floats, canoe, and kayaks, horseshoe pit, ladderball, and other lawn games.

The River Overlook Cabin was newly constructed in early 2020. There are lots of windows to gaze out at the wild and scenic St Regis River. Cabin is situated on our private 160 acre forest preserve. You will have use of 4 miles of hiking trails and a private fire pit, picnic table for outdoor dining with a view and an awesome clothing optional private swimming spot on the river.
The cabin is 24 x 40 with two stories and a large screened porch facing the river. The screened porch has a rustic cedar log love seat that pulls out into a queen sized comfortable bed.
A full kitchen is complimented by a propane stove and fridge. Furnishings and decor are rustic Adirondack style. Simple and elegant! There is a Japanese soaking tub with hand shower in the bathroom. Enjoy a hot bath with the sounds of the rushing river and surrounding forest.
Hot and cold artisan well water feeds into the camp for cooking, bathing and drinking.
There is a propane stove/fireplace to warm the heart and hearth on a chilly evening.
We are off grid with a robust solar system with generator back up.

We are in the north west corner of the Adirondack Park far from the maddening crowds in the high peaks areas! Only 20 minutes from Potsdam, 40 minutes from Tupper Lake or Saranac Lake. 30 minutes from Canton, 2.5 hrs from Syracuse and Montreal. 1 hour 15 minutes from Lake Placid.

You’ll need a car to get here. Once here you can drive to your cabin via a graveled woods road.

There are four cabins with a fire pit at each cabin site on our 160 acres. There is plenty of space to enjoy complete privacy around your cabin. You may run into other guests on the trails or at the swim hole. Text your host Sandy well in advance if you plan to use the sauna. She can start the fire for you approx 1 hour before you plan to use it.
There are plenty of grocery stores in Potsdam including The Potsdam Consumer Coop, Purple Rice an Asian Grocery plus an IGA, Price Chopper, local meat market and lots of farm stands!
Non members are welcome to shop at the coop. Open 7 days a week until 7 ( closes at 5 on Sundays)

We practice Covid cleaning protocols developed by the CDC and Airbnb to help assure guest safety.
Please remove shoes at the porch. Pets are allowed only with special permission. Please follow check out rules listed in the cabin.

This space is a pine paneled one room 10x12 ft insulated tree house with screened windows. There is a comfortable
futon couch you can pull out that sleeps two adults. There’s a dresser with a pull out desk top and some new cubbies to stow your gear in.
The dwelling is a short walk from the farm house driveway through our back yards flower and vegetable gardens and blueberry patch.
(Please feel free to snitch some juicy ripe blueberries if in season!)
The back side area of the rock house is comprised of 80 acres of forest which is home to lots of song birds for your morning wake up. The front of the rock house is above a goat turn out located in the woods 200 feet from the main farm house. The goats are at a different farm for 2024 season. There is a propane vented heater if needed for your comfort.

Guests have access to the tree house, Finnish sauna, outhouse, fire pit, pavilion with outdoor kitchen and picnic table, private outdoor bath, hot and cold running water, microwave, fridge, gas range, free kayaks and canoes and 160 acres with marked trails. The internet in the tree house is via Star Link.

Please strip your beds and place linens and towels in pillow case and place them on the farm house porch along with your garbage before you leave. Remove shoes if they are dirty. Unplug fridge before you leave.

Our property was fully renovated in spring and
summer 2018. It is very clean and supplied with electric power from a new solar and battery storage system with automatic generator back up. The cabin’s running water comes from an artesian well located behind the camp. Hot water for bathing and washing is supplied by an energy efficient on demand hot water heater. Refrigeration and heat are supplied by modern propane appliances. Cooking is on a replica vintage propane stove with a griddle. The interior is decorated with a flair for Adirondack style and all the comforts of home. There is a bathroom,
kitchen, dining and living room, large deck open to the forest and a riverside screened in porch. The deck offers ample seating and there is a charcoal grill near the firepit. The living room has a very comfortable futon couch which sleeps two people. The screened riverside porch is just a few feet from the meandering river and is equipped with a cedar love seat that can easily be transformed into a very comfortable double bed for those who would enjoy sleeping on a private screened porch close to nature. There is also a loft with a double brass bed with a new comfy mattress that sleeps two. You will be able to access Wi-Fi via star link at the cabin.

The cabin is located in the northwest part of the Adirondack Park. We are on the St. Lawrence County recreational trail system down a 1/2 mile long private woods road passable by car.

Enjoy our 160 acre parcel in a perfectly private setting with many interesting birds, trees, mosses, ferns, mushrooms and river creatures like beaver, trout and otter. There is over 4 miles of private trails for hiking, skiing, or snow-shoeing along the river and with loops into the woods. We also offer you a lovely firepit near the cabin stocked with firewood and surrounded by comfortable Adirondack gliding chairs. There
Is also a charcoal grill with all grilling supplies you will need. With Potsdam only 15 miles away you have the best of both the civilized and the natural world when staying at our cabin.

The Raquette room is located in our 1880 restored home. This downstairs room has a beautiful antique double bed. A shared half-bath is located very near this room, and the shared full-bath is upstairs. This room is designed for one to two guests and is a great space to relax, work, or just drop your stuff while you explore the area.

The Raquette Room is one of four rooms open to book in our home. We also have the 1880 Room, St Regis Room, and St Lawrence Room.

Our home is located within walking distance of downtown Potsdam, SUNY Potsdam, Clarkson University, and the local Hospital. Downtown Potsdam has several fun and unique eating and beverage establishments… including a gluten free bakery!

Some things to consider when booking a room in our home…

We individually book rooms in our house, so you may be staying here with other guests. Our daughter, Jessy, lives here full-time, whereas Dean and I are in residence sometimes. At times, it may just be you at the house... It just depends on the day.

The house is old, which adds some fantastic charm but it also means the floors creak! In old Japan, Samurai residences’ had Nightingale floors - floors that chirp like a bird when walked on. These singing floors helped to warn Samurai of movement inside their homes. The 1880 House has similar floors - they creak and chirp with every step, so you always know when someone is moving about.

Our stairs are steep! We’re not sure if people were shorter in 1880 or if they had longer arms… but traversing our stairs can feel awkward at first. I have a bad back and a bad knee, but I manage them fine; it just takes a bit of getting used to.

We provide off street parking - one space per room you book. Please DO NOT park on the street between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM as the city will ticket you.

If you have any concerns, questions, or needs, please do not hesitate to ask. We will do our best to help.

In the 1880 House, you have access to all the common spaces - kitchen, dining room, living room, half-bath, laundry, stairs, halls, porches, yard, and driveway. You have private access to your room. At check-in you receive a key to your room and we will not enter unless you request or there is an emergency of some kind. Our side entry has a keypad for easy entry during the day and night.

During your stay
My husband and I travel a lot so we are not always home. Our daughter works remotely, so she is always home. She will check you in and happily help you if you need anything, but for the most part, she will give you space.

Other things to note
All bedrooms have window A/C units. Downstairs all common spaces do not have A/C. Typically, the house stays cooler than the outside, but we want you to be aware.

The Farm2 was newly renovated in 2021. It was re-designed and renovated specifically for the Airbnb traveler(s).

Per Airbnb guidelines, concerning service animals, this room is frequently used by persons who have allergies.

The super hosts, Elisa and John have 2 other similar units at this location and and 3 units only 1 mile away on the same road. They have been Airbnb hosts since August 2018 and Superhosts since 2019.

The Farm1 has 1 king bed in its own bedroom, 1 queen bed in a second bedroom, a futon in the living room that can sleep one or two people.

The Farm1 and the Farm2 share an entrance at the front of the house. The Farm1 is on the 1st floor, and the Farm2 is on the 2nd floor. The only shared space is the foyer. Each unit is completely private and well soundproofed in the latest renovation.

The kitchenette has an electric cooktop, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and refrigerator.

There is one 65" TV in the king bedroom, one 65" TV in the living room, and one 50" TV in the queen bedroom.

There is one full bathroom in the unit.

There is no cable subscription. LG Free TV is provided and has most major news sources, sports, and movies. Apple TV and other services are supported from guest's devices. High bandwidth wi-fi is available for streaming.

If you cannot find the dates that you want, we also have two other listings in the same building. "The Farm2", "The Loft1", "The Loft2", and "The Loft3". All are very similar in size.

You will park in the large parking area between the house and the barn. You can pull up near the house to unload, but please do not leave your car on the sidewalk as it will be by others. There is 5 acres of land that is kept mowed and can be used for recreation or walking. Also, the Bagdad Road is very quiet and safe and many residents walk their dogs or jog on it all day long. At the end of the Bagdad Rd. is Clarkson University's soccer fields and the Clarkson hill campus, which is only a 1.5 mile walk.

Other things to note
Please do not go into the barn. This space is for the owner's storage. Also, the neighbors have put up posted signs in the woods which they want us to honor. You may walk around on the 5 acres that comes with this property. The posted signs are fairly close together and easy to see.

Outside the village, and yet just minutes from Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam. Located 30 minutes from both the Canadian Border and the Adirondack Mountains. Plenty of hiking in the area, on both mountains and trails. We have 2 lovable attention seeking cats that are not allowed in the guests rooms.

The St Regis Room is located in our rustically restored 1880 home in Potsdam, New York. This room has a queen bed, a desk and chair, and a rocking chair. There is also a closet for hanging clothes and storing suitcases. The St Regis Room shares a full bath with two other rooms in our home; as well as a half-bath down stairs.

Some things to consider when booking a room in our home…

We individually book rooms in our house, so you may be staying here with other guests. Our daughter Jessy lives here full-time, whereas Dean and I are in residence sometimes. At times, it may just be you at the house... It just depends on the day.

The house is old, which adds some fantastic charm but it also means the floors creak! In old Japan, Samurai residences’ had Nightingale floors - floors that chirp like a bird when walked on. These singing floors helped to warn Samurai of movement inside their homes. The 1880 House has similar floors - they creak and chirp with every step, so you always know when someone is moving about.

Our stairs are steep! We’re not sure if people were shorter in 1880 or if they had longer arms… but traversing our stairs can feel awkward at first. I have a bad back and a bad knee, but I manage them fine; it just takes a bit of getting used to.

We provide off street parking - one space per room you book. Please DO NOT park on the street between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM as the city will ticket you.

In the 1880 House, you have access to all the common spaces - kitchen, dining room, living room, half-bath, laundry, stairs, halls, porches, yard, and driveway. You have private access to your room. At check-in you receive a key to your room and we will not enter your room unless you request or there is an emergency of some kind. Our side entry has a key pad for easy entry during the day and night.

During your stay
My husband and I travel a lot so we are not always home. Our daughter was a student at Clarkson, but now she works from home. She will check you in and happily help you if you need anything, but for the most part, she will give you space.

If you are familiar with the Amazon Prime movie, Potty Town, you will be happy to know we are about a 1 minutes walk from this iconic Potsdam location.

The Farm3 was newly renovated in 2021. It was re-designed and renovated specifically for the Airbnb traveler(s).

Per Airbnb guidelines, concerning service animals, this room is frequently used by persons who have allergies.

The super hosts, Elisa and John have 2 other similar units at this location and and 3 units only 1 mile away on the same road. They have been Airbnb hosts since August 2018 and Superhosts since 2019.

The Farm3 has 1 king bed in its own bedroom, 1 queen bed in a second bedroom, a futon in the living room that can sleep one or two people.

The Farm3 has a private entrance near the parking area with a number "3" on the door.

The kitchenette has an electric cooktop, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and refrigerator.

There is one 65" TV in the king bedroom, one 65" TV in the living room, and one 50" TV in the queen bedroom.

There is one full bathroom in the unit.

There is no cable subscription. LG Free TV is provided and has most major news sources, sports, and movies. Apple TV and other services are supported from guest's devices. High bandwidth wi-fi is available for streaming.

Experience the beautiful Adirondacks in a rustic, yet cozy cabin. Dragonfly and River Rat are located on 9 private acres situated along the bank of the Oswegatchie River. There are only 3 cabins on the property, rent the 2 and bring the whole family or just rent 1 and still feel like your secluded. We stay in the 3rd cabin for the season.

The space
You will have the entire cabin to yourself. It includes the 1 bedroom with a queen bed, living area with kitchenette; full refrigerator, 2 burner cook top, coffee pot, and toaster, (no running water),sitting area, bunk beds and a dining table. There is also a loft where someone can sleep. A screened in porch with chairs and a propane grill. Plenty of parking, a separate bath house that includes a private full bathroom and a shared utility sink. Beach area, river access, movie nights on the big screen, bonfires, kayaks, and a canoe.. We have been in this area seasonally since the 90's, and can guide you to different attractions or that little hole in the wall. Many different ponds, lakes, and rivers in the area to check out too!

I am not available in person, however, I do have a caretaker and a resident manager that can help with any needs or concerns. And, they can contact me directly, if needed.
Please note, the manager, her husband, and 2 little hypoallergenic dogs live on the property. They love guests, but the level of interaction is totally up to the guest.

Check out Adirondack Fragrance, we are in the same town. For outdoor adventures, we are located on trails where you can enjoy a day of 4 wheeling/snowmobiling. Or take your kayak/canoe on the river for a peaceful ride. Parishville beach is just around the corner with a picnic area in the woods, a sand beach with boat and kayak rentals in summer, and ice skating in winter. We are only an hour away from Lake Placid (home of the 1980 Olympics), St. Lawrence seaway, and Canada perfect day trips.
