Several last-of-its-kind treasures call Mystic their home.
The Mystic Seaport Museum is a must-see while you are here! The 1807 Williams Home rooms are named after maritime trades. The museum is home to five National Historic Landmark vessels: Charles W. Morgan- last whaling ship, Sabino Coal Steamer- last in regular operation in the U.S L.A. Dunton, Joseph Conrad, and the Emma C. Berry. Our property next door to the 1807 Williams Home & Smith Cottage, the 1784 Denison Home, offers 5 guest rooms, all named in honor of these five vessels at the Mystic Seaport. The Carriage House, our newest offering behind the Denison Home in Old Mystic, has rooms themed after historic people of the time.
Also, Mystic is home to Clyde's Cider Mill- the oldest steam power cider mill in the U.S. This special mill draws crowds in the fall to see the steam engine in action.
Mystic is a one-of-a-kind place!
You have access to the shared parking, shared yard, your private guest room, and private bathroom. The Cordage has a little kitchenette too.
You will receive full check-in instructions 4 days before your arrival date.
You will receive your Schlage lock keypad code 24 hours before arrival and you'll have a flexible check-in time.
Like many of the homes in historical villages, there is no garage. The Williams Home guests have three parking spots in our driveway, one for each private room, and the Smith Cottage guests have two. Additional parking is available behind our property at the church lot or Haley's Way Park.

PROPERTY TRUTHS
The queen bed is very high and will require our bed steps. If you are comfortable using the steps, it's worth the climb.
The Williams Home & Smith Cottage property is on Main Street on a bustling corner at a 3-way stop sign across Holly Hock Antiques and the Old Mystic Post Office. It's busy with road noise during the day but a quiet and peaceful hamlet in the evenings.
Outdoor spaces and parking are shared with guests staying in the Williams Home main house and the Smith Cottage behind.
As the Williams Home is circa 1807, the floorboards are wide and do move and creak a bit, but I think you'll appreciate how it adds to the charm and character of an antique home.
With wooden homes, sometimes doors stick and need a push or a pull, as wood naturally expands and contracts with the New England weather.
Original glass windows can be drafty in the wintertime.
There may be other guests staying at the Williams home during your stay, so I ask that all guests respect each other's space and use quiet voices as this is an antique home and the walls are not soundproof.
- "Loved the personal touches!"

- "We could not have asked for a better long weekend at the shore! Louis was a fantastic host - providing a ton of great information proactively, was super responsive to any questions (we only had one!), and provided a really enjoyable experience overall. The home had everything we could have asked for - including different size pet beds to choose from! - and even included little touches that made the difference (lots of coffee pods for us coffee drinkers, amenities in the bathrooms, plastic containers for food, etc.). The house was comfortable and roomy, and having a fully fenced in yard for our dog to roam was a huge plus! My four year old especially enjoyed the karaoke machine! It's a quiet neighborhood, close to the beautiful little borough of Stonington and a short drive to LOTS of things to do (Mystic, Westerly, Watch Hill, the list goes on!). We will definitely be coming back!"

Everything is easy to access by walking. The beach is right down the street…not dog friendly however. We traveled to Mystic (which is very close) to visit the aquarium , Westerly to let our dog run at the dog park and then went to the Stonington Vinyard for a tasting! Make sure you make reservations for dining and check out Indulge for a quick and easy breakfast. We loved our quick weekend getaway!!"

On January 17, 1840, former Secretary of State Daniel Webster, traveling by sleigh, stopped in for a drink on his way to the Groton Ferry to catch a boat to New York! If only walls had ears, imagine the stories they could recount! Perhaps if you slow down, you can hear the walls whisper words of the past!

Great location- 2min from the aquarium and 7min from a mystic’s Main Street. We will most definitely be back!" - "A friend and I stayed overnight to celebrate a milestone birthday. Even before we arrived I could tell we were going to fall in love with the place! Debbie is beyond fantastic! She communicates promptly, is there to answer any question, and is just an absolute pleasure. Ok, now to when we arrived. From the moment we pulled up I was certain we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. I really have no words to accurately describe how well thought out it is. Details upon details, special little touches, imagination and thought used throughout! My friend and I were blown away! The house is not only aesthetically fantastic but everything is super clean and comfy as well. We did not want to leave, like ever! Debbie has an incredible gift and has found her calling as a host. We will be back 100%! Thank you so very much Debbie. We are your biggest fans! Counting the days until we can return!"

It is said that George Washington slept in the house across the street, and Abraham Lincoln may have spent time in the house next door! - "Nice l, well" - "Wow, we loved our stay at the Chandler Apartment! Easy to check in, LOTS of space for the 3 of us, and so thoroughly decorated with a seaport theme. The couch was large and inviting, the kitchen had absolutely everything you might need, and the beds were super comfortable. Debbie left us warm apple pie in the dining room, and there were so many charming details to discover in the apartment (which was immaculately clean). Lots of Keurig coffees for the morning too. Wish we had stayed longer to take advantage of the outdoor fire pit and lawn games area, but we would definitely stay here again!"

The room we stayed in was immaculate with hardwood floors and a gas fireplace though we didn’t need it. The host Rob is non stop and there was a nice breakfast from Sift bakery in town awaiting us in the morning which was tasty. They happened to have a 70s folk band playing in the afternoon with a raw bar and drinks, and we stayed all day reminiscing and listening to the music. There is also a disc golf course, root cellar and old farm foundation to observe on the 77 acre property. We’ll definitely be coming back!!"

We can provide a small Boston Whaler type boat to take you to the beach. That is correct. The absolute nicest beach in all of New England is located 6 minutes from the house. It is called "Sandy Point Beach" It is only accessible by water. You don't have to go in the open ocean to get there. It is safely approachable by a small boat, kayak, or SUP. From your deck you can see the train bridge that you must go under, once on the other side you will see Sandy Point 1/4 mile in front of you. This beach is pristine. The water gradually goes out making for the perfect setting. Look up their Facebook Page or Google it. The beach is all perfectly white sand under your toes without a crab, rock, oyster, or anything else below you. Please click on this link and learn all about this amazing beach. https://newenglandboating.com/daytrip-destination-sandy-point-ct/. We also offer a custom pontoon boat that has been fitted to seat 24 people comfortably and can fit under the bridge. It is the perfect transport to and from the beach. Getting back to the house itself.... Well, it is newly renovated this year. Everything is new. Every bed, sheet, pillow, utensil, tv, appliance, etc. The main living area is incredible. It is completely open so that if you want to have dinner for a large group it is simple to do so. The deck is huge and can hold up to 18 for dinner. The inside dining area is huge as well. The kitchen is set up as a gourmet kitchen with all of the necessary amenities. The bedrooms are awesome. Every bedroom is very large. Every bedroom has a new internet-based TV. All six of the bedrooms have a King bed in them. Yes, that is not a misprint. Every Bedroom features a closet, nightstand, and bureau. There is a pull-out sofa also that allows for an additional 2 people to sleep comfortably. In total the home sleeps 14 extremely comfortable. If you need to add a few additional guests, this can be arranged. There is ample room for that. Upstairs can be used as kids' rooms or teenagers etc. There are 5 bathrooms throughout the home, with 1 of them being an outdoor unit. Then also 4 more bathrooms with 1 in each of the cottages.
The grounds are incredible. We have over 12 acres of beautiful waterfront property. There is ample room for tents and parking. If you are planning a wedding or other large event, we do allow them, but you will need to speak to the owner first about additional costs and provisions.
We have an Oceanside Cabana that has all of the kayaks, SUP's, fishing gear, paddles, even an ice maker located right next to the boat ramp. There is no need to lug heavy SUP's or kayaks any distance at all. You use them and the Cabana is right there. IT is awesome.
The home has central A/C throughout. It has been decorated by an award-winning designer from Greenwich, CT.
All of the Cottages have A/C as well.
This is the nicest house with the best location anywhere in New England barring none. The proximity to "Sandy Point" is simply put "AWESOME"!

GUIDELINES FOR BRINGING 4-LEGGED GUESTS
Dogs ONLY
2 small dogs or 1 medium dog MAX
Our fee is $40/pet, which will be requested with your confirmed reservation.
We charge a $40.00 pet fee/pet. We hope you find this fee fair and reasonable as we take on additional responsibilities by adding furry guests to your reservation.
To ensure a smooth experience, we ask owners to bring along their dogs with the following understanding.
1. Dogs are 100% house-trained. Traveling dogs can get anxious and confused, causing accidents even for a house-trained dog.
***If your dog pees inside, this will cause a great deal of confusion for future dogs staying as they may pee on top of your dog's pee, causing upset for everyone. When arriving, please immediately introduce the yard to your dog to establish where the potty is located.***
2. Pets are well-behaved and good-natured **NO aggressive dogs allowed**
3. Pets are not left alone in the Sailor Room- given the nature of the shared property, barking dogs will cause disturbance to other guests staying in adjacent guest rooms.
4. Owners clean up outside after their pets
5. Owners keep their pets on a leash when appropriate, as Mystic is a busy place.
Behind our property is a great field to walk your dog!
We've had wonderful experiences accommodating traveling pets! However, if your pet damages any property, we will use your security deposit to cover the cost. (though this has never happened yet:)
If you're considering bringing your dog and are fine with the pet rules/guidelines, please confirm you have read and agree to the rules in your booking message to me at the time of confirmation.
We look forward to having you stay!
Warmly,
Debbie (and Paul too:)

You’re going to love the soothing, handsome colors and maritime mural in the Joseph Conrad Guest Room at the historic Denison Home. Hello and welcome :-)
We are so delighted to offer warm and welcoming hospitality to you while visiting this quaint seafaring village of Mystic, CT.
The history buff in you will love the antiques and original features that pay homage to the maritime heritage of Mystic~ nautical murals, wide-planked floors, a beehive oven, square head nails, period trim, and a large center chimney that powers five working fireplaces!
The 1784 Denison Home, built by John Denison, a prominent family name who settled in colonial Mystic, CT, was a hat maker by trade (or did he ever become a “mad hatter?” The first floor of this home was most likely a hat store while he lived there.
After various owners, Charles Vincent purchased this house in the 1960s and turned the first floor into the Old Mystic Bookstore and when he turned 80 he sold it and moved to Maine~ he specialized in obscure 1st edition books and maritime maps, housing over 20,000-30,000 pieces. The locals remember the bookstore well and said you could hardly move through the rooms as books and maps rambled along on all surfaces from top to bottom but Vincent always new were his books and maps were when a customer put in a request. You can still see his maps in the front hallway preserved to this day!
This wonderful home was then renovated to a bed & breakfast and ran as the Old Mystic Inn for 33 years until 2019 when Michael, chef and last innkeeper, served his last guests his famous scrumptious breakfast.
This dear antique house has much history and many stories to tell over its 250 years and is meant to continue to open it’s doors to visitors who desire experiencing a piece of that history too! If only walls had ears, imagine the stories they could recount~ perhaps you can listen and hear the walls whisper words of the past!

STAIRWAYS
Two stairways lead to the 2nd floor.
The front stairwell leading up to the Sabino and the Emma C. Berry Guest Rooms is narrow and typical of an antique colonial home of this period (think of the people that have climbed those stairs!)
The back stairwell, which leads to the Library Room, a common room, is wider and has a more modern feel.
OUTDOOR SPACES
Relax in the side yard with the gazebo, around the fire pit (bundle of wood provided), furnished with 6 Adirondack chairs, two hammocks, patio tables, an outside couch with a fire table.

The Denison Home is down the street from the Old Mystic Fire Station, so it's possible you'll hear sirens during your stay. However, it's a comfort to know they're so close too:-)
As the 1784 Denison Home is circa 1784, the floorboards are wide and do move and creak a bit, but I think you'll appreciate how it adds to the charm and character of an antique home.
With wooden homes, sometimes doors stick and need a push or a pull, as wood naturally expands and contracts with the New England weather.
Original glass windows can be drafty in the wintertime.
You’re going to adore the ensuite Emma Berry Room at the historic 1784 Denison Home! This sweet room, named after the Noank Smack at the Mystic Seaport Museum, is delightfully comfortable~ you’ll love the antique poster bed with the brand new mattress all dressed in lovely linens. The antiques and historic mural make this room extra special! Sip wine down in the Keeping Room and relax in the maritime library! Filled with antiques and comforts, you’ll love every inch of this nautical gem!
The space

You have access to the shared parking, shared yard, your private guest room, private bathroom, and light use of the shared kitchen space. Help yourself to the microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, and of course, coffee maker and electric tea kettle.
Please note you use the side door opposite the driveway- on the other side of the house. You will walk between the main house and Smith Cottage on the gravel path to access the other side door, which faces the red property next door.
***Please don't try to use the side on the driveway side with the stone steps- this is a private door entrance for the Cordage Suite guests only.***
During your stay
My husband and I live in Mystic, an 8-minute drive from the 1807 Williams Home property. Even though you are set up for self-check-in, you may see one of us stop by to water outside plants if you are staying for more than a few days or bring the garbage cans out to the street if you are staying over on a Wednesday night. Don't worry- we are harmless and have the utmost respect for your privacy, so it's more likely you won't see us unless requested:)! If you seek answers, like suggestions, or even meet us, we are here for you and delight in sharing this lovely little village with visitors! We are available to help make your stay a perfect one!

PROPERTY TRUTHS
The Williams Home & Smith Cottage property is on Main Street on a bustling corner at a 3-way stop sign across Holly Hock Antiques and the Old Mystic Post Office. It's busy with road noise during the day but a quiet and peaceful hamlet in the evenings.
The Cooperage bathroom is detached (across the back hallway from your room), but it is a private bathroom and only for your use.
