Convict springs was literally right out the front door across a small field. The spring was beautiful. The kids swam so much the were sore the next day. The family is a little small but we had fun. The staff were so nice! The highlight of everything was meeting Pinky one their beautiful pigeons!!!! The birding here is top notch especially one the river. We saw 3 red shoulder hawks and heard numerous great horned owls. Also the gulf sturgeon jumping is so cool! We will be back! I want to canoe and fish next time!!!"

- "Wow what a great piece of property! I loved how it was remote and quiet. It had a huge yard for the dog to run and lots of fun activities for my husband & I. The puppy loved swimming in the river and there's so many things to do nearby during the day. The cabin was very nicely remodeled and decorated. The only downside it was dirty. Lots of dust on surfaces & old food stains in microwave. The throw blankets on couch were stinky. But all of those things can be fixed and we'd love to come back! It was an awesome experience. We really enjoyed our stay."

For more water activities, you must add our natural freshwater springs to your itinerary! Fanning Springs State Park is only 10 minutes (7 miles) away! Otter Springs, Hart Springs and Manatee Springs are all within a half an hour drive. The self-proclaimed Springs Capital of the World, Gilchrist County is just over the bridge, about twenty minutes away. There, and in the surrounding areas, you can find many, many freshwater springs (and their spring runs/rivers) that provide fun opportunities for diving, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and tubing. Lazy days galore!

Hiking trails are prevalent at most of the parks in the area so bring your hiking boots if you’re looking for some exercise, nature and seeking wildlife!

- "Very clean and peaceful. The home is generally well- appointed and tastefully decorated. However, we would suggest replacing the short toilets with normal-sized ones to better accomodate taller persons. The owners are accomodating and thoughtful and have all the bases covered in providing the things needed for a pleasant stay. In the write up, they emphasize that they are featuring their rental property as a retreat of sorts, but my wife and I would have enjoyed having the option to watch TV, as we failed to read the write up as carefully as we should have and were therefore disappointed that there was no TV reception. Not the owners fault, as they make that clear."

We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house right on the Suwannee River. The house is 1/2 mile off of US 19 with paved roads straight to our address. The house has an upstairs covered deck right outside the living room with ceiling fans and comfy patio furniture to watch all the river activities. It has a two story covered floating aluminum dock with swinging chairs as well as space to accommodate your boat or jet skies. There is a public boat ramp about 1 mile down the river near the Suwannee Belle Landing, a great local restaurant with access via boat or car. Our kitchen is fully stocked with new pots, pans, dishes, cups, and most anything you might need. There is also a grocery store just 1/2 mile away for your convenience.

- "River Deva is the perfect homebase for an authentic natural FL experience. The location of the river cottage on the Santa Fe River at the end of a (well-maintained) dirt road ensures a quiet, private, rural retreat. Many enjoyable hours were spent on the large screened (a requirement in FL!) porch overlooking the river and the unusual tree swing in the butterfly garden. The cottage itself was spotless, had comfortable furnishings, and as an extra bonus, smelled great! The kitchen had a good assortment of pots, pans, utensils, and even spices. We "ate in'' exclusively, but some good food options were available in town. We did venture into friendly High Springs briefly one afternoon and enjoyed visiting a few shops and coffee at Colsie's. In addition to being close to Poe Springs, the trails of Gilchrist, Ichetucknee and O'Leno State Park were just a short drive away. Communication with Frank and Karoline was great and we appreciated their recommendations. We are already working to schedule our next visit this spring for more river therapy!"

For the adventurous and licensed, cave diving is available at the Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park 386-776-2194 and Ginnie Springs, and of coarse canoers and kayakers are a regular in this area at the Adventure Outpost or the Sante Fe Canoe Outpost. Folks, this area is filled with clear, refreshing springs to enjoy, relax, picnic and so on! Gainesville, home of the FL. Gators is a 45 min. drive for your football, baseball and other sporting loves. The Stephen Foster Culture Center in White Springs is only 19 miles away. The Lake City Medical Ctr. is just around the corner 4 min. away for all you health care providers or those with friends or family in the hospital. For those that would The Loft, an A-frame studio apt sits above our 3 car garage. It is charming, clean, in a safe and quiet residential area just waiting to accommodate the single person or the married couple. It has a fully supplied kitchen with all that you would need except an oven and dishwasher, but it does have a microwave and a glass top 2 burner stove, refrigerator, utensils, pots, pans, dishes etc. and coffee bar. The Loft is perfect for 1-2 people. Sorry No Pets! No smoking! We love animals but not in our home. We are 2mi. off I75 and easy access if you are traveling. ( smoke alarm and fire extinguisher are on site.) maybe you desire to stay a night.or two somewhere other than a hotel? We’re your perfect option! 2 miles behind all those hotels off I75 and 90 sits our “Loft” quiet and peaceful.

Great location. Close to the Luraville store, the boat ramp on Hwy 51, and many springs. You will have the small camper to yourselves, but the separate bathroom may or may not be shared while you are there by the owner and/or his guests staying in another camper on the 20 acre property.
This isn't fancy, but for less than what some campgrounds charge you to park a camper on their property, it is a very cost effective way to come stay in the "spring capital of the world."

Turkey Creek boasts of a newly opened restaurant as well as access to a pool, tennis courts & playground. I am also located less than 6 miles from the Temple of the Universe which is a popular destination for meditation and speakers. The room for rent is located right inside the house to the left and the bathroom is located just outside the bedroom door.

The space
The room and bathroom is not separate from the rest of the house, but it's relatively secluded enough from the rest of the house that it feels private. I provide all the accommodations and comforts of home at a very reasonable rate. Many of my guests really enjoy my backyard space. I not only have seating outside, but also a hammock to relax in.

Guest access
Feel free to use the living room, kitchen, laundry facilities(soap is available above the washer) as well as the back and front porches to relax. You can access my Netflix account if you like as well as my VUDU account, but please do not purchase any movies or shows unless you discuss it with me as it charges my bank account directly.

During your stay
I work a lot of hours that are often inconsistent so I may not be home much depending on when you come to stay. I'm am not an overly social person, but am always interested in meeting new people. I will be available to contact via cell phone anytime I am not at home.

Other things to note
Turkey Creek is a gated community so you will have to give the gate attendant the address where you are staying every time you enter. For those who are staying for 5 days or longer, I can get you a temporary pass if requested. The pool requires a magnetic card to enter for residents which I can provide you with as well. Turkey Creek clubhouse, pool and restaurant will be located on the second right once you pass the gatehouse.
