Comfortable porch with views overlooking the property. Paved roads up until our driveway. Our driveway is gravel and approximately 1,500 feet from the paved road to the cabin. We have 3 other cabins on this property available as well.
No pets, no smoking/vaping except outside and no occupants under the age of 20 years old.

Last of all thank you to our hosts for the great relay of information dueour stay. We had no issues, so there was no need to contact them during our stay, but they were very responsive during our planning and as we left. Wonderful place to stay!"

We also have a video game machine as well and board games ..kick back and relax in this super clean new unit!

Come enjoy the beautiful Happy Hound real log cabin in Rudy, AR (or one of the other 3 cabins at the same location)! The cabin is set on 100 acres of forest & pasture. You`ll love the cozy feel of the cabin. Comfortable queen size bed. Living area with couch and a chair to enjoy the ambience of the faux fireplace and smart tv. Spacious table for two right off the completely functional kitchen with nearly fridge, range with cooktop and oven, coffee maker with coffee and toaster.
Smoking is ok, but it needs to be done outside. Please note we do have a pool (not for guests) near our home on the property that is approximately 150 to 200 feet away from the cabins. There are also 5 ponds on the property that are much further away (not for guests use). Individuals 19 years old or younger are not allowed to rent this room or be an occupant in the room.

House is very close to First Baptist church of Van Buren and about 1/2 a mile to downtown area to catch a train ride or to go shopping or dining! Only a few minutes away from the interstate if you need to travel to Fort Smith area- it is about 5 minutes away. Quiet older neighborhood with a diverse range of homes. Linens are provided along with soap and shampoo. Bedroom one has a queen size bed with a desk area if needed for business. Bedroom two has a king size bed. Both rooms have super plush mattresses and comfortable bed linens. Living room has a sleeper sofa queen size. Comfortably sleeps 6 people. House is around 850sqft. Very quaint and cozy! Small back yard area but no fence. Washer and dryer are provided and laundry soap if needed. Pet-friendly if you would like to bring your pets. Each bedroom has a roku tv as well as the living room. Iron and ironing board available. Hair dryer available.

NOVEMBER 2021 HOST UPDATE:
We just did a kinda unexpected thing…we bought a different house and moved from our house of almost 20 years. It is more accurate to say, “are moving”; for after this long it Is a process.

What this means for You:
You may read past guest comments referring to our personal welcome, tour or our friendly dog or breakfast.

I am busy updating the photos and captions as needed since our move, but it is a surprisingly time consuming task, plus I obviously can’t alter past guest comments about us, our welcome, the doggies, etc so in the spirit of full transparency, and accuracy regarding the listing, here is what you need to know to ensure you have an accurate understanding about your booking with no unexpected surprises.

What has changed since the move:
- we no longer personally greet you and give a tour; it Is now self check-in and the tour comes, along with the front door code, as a message on arrival day.
- No more PS4, but large smart Roku TV with streaming services.
- no more doggie barked greetings or tail wagging (or wanting a scape as you eat breakfast)
- speaking of breakfast, it is still included yet is streamlined and simplified and fully self-serve on your schedule, be it hitting the road early or sleeping in and eating later in the day.
- Downstairs game table has been replaced with an exercise bike.
- fridge and pantry now have LOTS of room for guest food storage as you no longer compete for space with family food.
- I am working on labeling kitchen cabinets with location of dishes, spices, etc for those who want to avail themselves of the opportunity to cook meals. The kitchen is well stocked.
- our Extra long driveway is less crowded with personal vehicles gone.

This was our family home for two decades, where we raised our large family. We are still in town but have downsized. What this means for You:
You may read earlier guest comments referring to our personal welcome, tour or our friendly dogs, but the house is now self checkin and no more doggies as they moved with us.

I am busy updating the photos and captions as needed since our move, but it is a surprisingly time consuming task, plus I obviously can’t alter past guest comments about us, our welcome, the doggies, etc so in the spirit of full transparency, and accuracy, here is what you need to know to ensure you have an accurate understanding about what has changed since the move:
- we no longer personally greet you and give a tour; it Is now self check-in and the tour comes, along with the front door code, as a message in the app.
- No more PS4, but large smart Roku TV with streaming services, a DVD player and wide movie selection.
- no more doggie barked greetings or tail wagging (or wanting a scape as you eat breakfast)
- breakfast, always included, streamlined and simplified and fully self-serve on your schedule, be it hitting the road early or sleeping in and eating later in the day.
- fridge and pantry now have abundant space for guest food storage as our food is gone.
- I am working on labeling kitchen cabinets with location of dishes, spices, etc for those who want to avail themselves of the opportunity to cook meals. The kitchen is very well stocked with basic spices and staples and then some.
- our extra long driveway is less crowded with personal vehicles gone.

Guest access
Guests can use the entire 3531 sq ft house except these spaces; no access to garage, attic, former office (all clearly marked), and a couple cabinets marked Host Supplies.

Our neighborhood is a lovely walking, jogging or biking neighborhood. Fort Smith and the River Valley however is best enjoyed with access to a vehicle, or use of Uber or Razorback taxi.

PARKING: abundant free parking on our long driveway will accommodate several vehicles, even long RV or moving truck. Parking also available at the long curb in front of the house or under our basketball goal and street light.

Other things to note
NO pets allowed.

NO smoking or vaping inside the house. Guests may smoke on either front or back patio. Please properly dispose of cigarette butts as there should be NO evidence found of smoking

CHECKOUT Requests:
1. To avoid attracting unwanted pests, we ask guests to wash dishes and leave in dryer rack or load dishwasher and start and take out any food trash to outside cans.
2. As a kindness to the planet and good stewardship please strip USED bed sheets and pillow cases and place in laundry room on the floor. Leave unused linens and comforters in the bedrooms.
