The owners, Anne and Steve and their team created a warm and welcoming experience that will always remain in our hearts and minds. The accommodations were spectacular and there were so many well-planned and elegant touches. We arrived late on Friday and so it was such a surprise to go on the deck in the morning and see a heard of long-horned steer looking at us curiously. Not a typical Saturday morning scene! - "The property was close to area attractions and is right on the lake. Fishing was great." - "We're avid kayakers with two large dogs (Briards) and this house was very convenient for launching our boats and getting the dogs in and out for a swim in the beautiful lake off its really nice dock. It's also a short drive to the boat launch are at the wonderful Basha Wildlife Refuge and its 3,000 acre wetland where Painted Turtles bask everywhere and Bald Eagles almost seem to pose for pics as you kayak by. The Neversink Gorge trailhead was also a short drive with miles of hiking trails (be sure to stop at Mullet Brook Falls, an absolutely beautiful site!!!). Garter snakes and toads were observed along the trail and frogs and butterflies were observed down at the river (near Denton Falls). The beds were comfortable and the shower was great (plenty of hot water with far better pressure than houses we've rented in the past). The porch, which overlooks the lake, was the perfect place to unwind and have a relaxing dinner (if you bring your own charcoal grills like we do for dietary reasons, make sure to set them up on the gravel driveway in front of the house rather than out the back door where the neighbor up the hill and across the street behind the house will fear you'll start a forest fire). The juke box, with its speakers on the porch, was stocked with tons of CDs to choose from from every genre. The adjacent neighbors and those we met walking our dogs along the road were all friendly."

Plattekill Mountain
Plattekill Mountain is a privately owned and operated ski and bike resort northwest of Catskill Park in the town of Roxbury, New York. It features a vertical drop of 1,100 feet with 38 trails of varying degrees of difficulty.

FISHING: WATER AND ICE
Anglers have success catching trout trolling spoons and plugs. White Lake also has a good bass population. Largemouth bass can be found around weed beds fished with spinnerbaits and plastic worms. Smallmouth bass bass like to hang out around rock piles and will bite crank baits and tube jigs.

We live on the lake and have neighbor that are fairly close. We ask that you obey the noise ordinance in Bethel NY which is no loud noise, music, or conversations past 10PM.
No parties are allowed.
PETS: Non shedding, small dogs under 20lbs allowed. There will be an addition cleaning fee for dogs that shed if approved.
Dog friendly: $100 fee per pet, after the first dog. Please keep your dog leashed and pick up after your dog.

For your security there is an outdoor blink camera and a ring doorbell. It can be disconnected if you choose not to want this.

- "House was exactly as described and staying on the lake was wonderful. Our kids really enjoyed fishing off of the dock, the blow up float and the provided canoe, paddle boat and kayak. The stairs leading up to the upstairs kids area is a very steep, so that’s something to keep in mind if your kids are younger. We kept our little guy in the downstairs bedroom, but the space upstairs is great and our older daughter loved it. Vickie was a pleasure at check in, showing us all of the features, and very quick to respond to any inquiries we had. There was an incident before check out with some damage that I wasn’t aware of until afterwords - my brother in law made a careless mistake - Vickie was quick to address with me and understanding, we will be resolving it. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I hope to return again."

The roads had more elevation than I expected but made for great exercise. The lakes in the area are really beautiful. We loved the record player and lights above the dining table as well as the fire pit and many chairs fir relaxing around back. Would definitely go again!"

Our home is divided between a main house and an attached guest suite that has a separate entrance. The entire property is fenced in and the driveway can fit 2-3 vehicles comfortably.

Thanks Mark!" - "We did not realize there were no TVs in any of the rooms on the property. One of the showers was not working or a lamp in one of the bedrooms. We had three days of bad weather, and no one came to plow or walkway, driveway, or steps, leading to the house, and someone had a bad fall down the steps. Basics such as cookie sheets, strainer and measuring spoons were not provided. There were no plates or coffee mugs. While the house held enough room, for all of us, the thermostats ran very high, making the bedrooms extremely hot. Realizing this is the first time the unit was being rented, I think the owners need to realize what needs to be provided when renting. At the very least, someone should’ve come over to clear the ice and snow."

Our patio is fully equipped and has 300 feet of lakefront access on an acre of beautiful land- you’ll have a grill and brand new table for 6 and two lounge chairs to soak up the sun and read a book while the others go for a crisp refreshing swim off the private dock.

Our open-concept brand new kitchen is for you to cook chef dinners while you look at the lake, The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including your own private drinks bar (Drinks not included)

Our living room is just huge, open up to the lake view so you won't any sunset
WIDE open concept living room, with large wrap around sofa, to enjoy those nights in front of the TV.

The lake is for you to use during summertime, with a wide long dock, and your own private swimming area. (Contact us for the use of both or other fun water toys)

- "What a great little house! Everything was well appointed and super clean. Host was communicative without interrupting our break, and the area around the house was relaxing, with anything you need within a 20 minute drive. Would definitely return to this house in the warmer weather!"

- "Overall we ended up having a good time. The property has multiple units on it within close range of each other which we weren’t away of until we got there. Luckily, all of the neighboring guests were super cool, we just didn’t expect that. Also, make sure to bring anything you may need. We were only provided 2 shower towels but not much else. There is some pans for cooking and a coffee maker, but the unit is limited. There’s also a smell from the pilot light on the stove which is aggressive if your sensitive to smells. Overall, we enjoyed our time and the property owners were very nice and helpful, and gave privacy."

The space
This home has 3 bedrooms. The main/master has a joining office with a futon (to relax, not to sleep) on, and a private bathroom attached to the bedroom. The second room has 2 bunkbeds (4 beds), while the 3rd room - has a Queen.
The living space consists of a large open area, sofa, lounge chairs and eating area, and a spacious kitchen with bar/counter seating as well.
There is also a screened porch off of the kitchen to enjoy outdoor feeling but in a protected area.

The greater outside area has nice lakeside relaxing spaces, a wooded area off to side and a large porch for hanging out too.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole property, just please do no open "owner" closets, and go into any basement spaces.

Other things to note
This is a small lake that's primarily for relaxing at, I know people have swam, and I see people fishing, but there are many great swimming lakes in the area that I'd recommend.

White Lake offers a free public boat launch for your personal watercraft. Toronto Reservoir is nearby where swimming, fishing and boating is free. Lake Superior state park is a 10 minute drive from the cabin with a small State park entry fee. All are gems! White Lake and Swinging bridge both have boat rentals.

***Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park*** has been a staple in the Catskills Region for decades. Perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers. Snow tubing too! They are located in Monticello, New York, in beautiful Sullivan County, and a 15 minute drive from the cabin! They cater to families from all around the Hudson Valley and metro New York area. Fun Park in the Summer!

Due to HOA restrictions, this cabin DOES NOT offer use of the nearest lake/beach, Smallwood’s Mountain Lake/ beach but there are several wonderful lakes and beaches nearby. On a hot Summer day, you can dip your feet or more in Smallwood’s very own Minnie Falls Waterfall.

There is parking for 2 large vehicles, or 3 small ones. Street parking is not allowed on streets any where in Smallwood.
Smoking is allowed outside of the cabin.
The gas fire pit is not to be used on the screened-in portion of the deck.
It must remain on the open deck.
The cabin has a septic system, there will be detailed information regarding usage in your welcome folder.
There is air conditioning in the living room and bedrooms for those hot Summer days .
In the Winter the house has forced heat and, a wood burning stove.
The house has two Roku T.V.'s for your enjoyment. Nothing is authorized to be purchased or rented or subscribed from either of them.
Do not leave any food outside of the cabin, we have bears. Please put all trash in the trash receptacle labeled and located in the basement.
Please leave the house in the condition you found it and contact us immediately if something breaks or is not in working order during your stay.

There is a new Corner Supermarket, a Dollar General, a Licor Store and Dunkin Donuts only 5 min away. There are a few great little restaurants nearby, such as The Local Tap and Bar, Benji & Jakes and Big Kev's barbecue trailer, the best barbecue in the Catskills area. We're also surrounded by beautiful Lakes, such as Lake Superior, where you can swim, rent boats and grill. If you rather explore the little towns around us, don't miss visiting Callicoon, Narrowsburg and Livingston Manor, they're full of great restaurants and shops.

This home is located on White Lake. It is an all weather house with heat and air conditioning.
The home has 2 bedrooms one with a queen bed, and one with 2 twin beds, a loft upstairs with 4 twin beds, and a full size futon couch.

A very large new micro fiber Pit Couch, that reclines fully on 4 chairs, and all the headrests are adjustable in the living room, with a bunch of cozy throws and a wood burning fireplace. A dining room with views of the lake with a table that seats 6. A full eat-in kitchen with a table that seats 6. A full bathroom.
A paddleboat, 3 kayaks and Paddle Board , a canoe and a hammock will be there for you to use.( seasonal) There is also a slate patio near the waterfront with furniture, and a brand custom built fire pit for you to enjoy, and fresh plentiful blueberries you can pick off the blueberry bushes (Seasonal).

A whole house water filtration system, which makes the drinking water better than bottled water, and the bath water will make your skin and hair very soft!

OWNER HAS SHARED DOCK AND WATER RIGHTS!!!!!! We have our pontoon boat and jet ski docked there and will be coming down to use it. Guest are not permitted to use or sit on these 2 water toys!!!

The fishing right off the dock is excellent. Many experienced anglers have commented that it is the most active fishing dock they have experienced. "We have caught over 6 different species of fish directly off the dock last summer. "

FISHING: WATER AND ICE
Anglers have success catching trout trolling spoons and plugs. White Lake also has a good bass population. Largemouth bass can be found around weed beds fished with spinnerbaits and plastic worms. Smallmouth bass bass like to hang out around rock piles and will bite crank baits and tube jigs.

We live on the lake and have neighbor that are fairly close. We ask that you obey the noise ordinance in Bethel NY which is no loud noise, music, or conversations past 10PM.
No parties are allowed.
PETS: Non shedding, small dogs under 29lbs allowed. There will be an addition cleaning fee for dogs that shed if approved.
Dog friendly: $100 fee per pet, after the first dog. Please keep your dog leashed and pick up after your dog.

For your security there is an outdoor blink camera and a ring doorbell. It can be disconnected if you choose not to want this.
