The owners, Anne and Steve and their team created a warm and welcoming experience that will always remain in our hearts and minds. The accommodations were spectacular and there were so many well-planned and elegant touches. Our welcome by the hostess was warm and friendly and it was great treat to have a beautifully prepared charcuterie board and fine red wine. We arrived late on Friday and so it was such a surprise to go on the deck in the morning and see a heard of long-horned steer looking at us curiously. Not a typical Saturday morning scene! The hosts are truly visionary and to see how they have created and authentic western ranch experience with sophisticated accommodations and amenities is impressive. We most enjoyed our time with Steve and Ann and their friends-all whom have such interesting backgrounds and share a passion and joy for the 'ranch life' and horses and are so earnest in their intentions to share a special experience with their guests. - "The property was close to area attractions and is right on the lake. Fishing was great." - "We're avid kayakers with two large dogs (Briards) and this house was very convenient for launching our boats and getting the dogs in and out for a swim in the beautiful lake off its really nice dock. It's also a short drive to the boat launch are at the wonderful Basha Wildlife Refuge and its 3,000 acre wetland where Painted Turtles bask everywhere and Bald Eagles almost seem to pose for pics as you kayak by. The Neversink Gorge trailhead was also a short drive with miles of hiking trails (be sure to stop at Mullet Brook Falls, an absolutely beautiful site!!!). Garter snakes and toads were observed along the trail and frogs and butterflies were observed down at the river (near Denton Falls). The beds were comfortable and the shower was great (plenty of hot water with far better pressure than houses we've rented in the past). The porch, which overlooks the lake, was the perfect place to unwind and have a relaxing dinner (if you bring your own charcoal grills like we do for dietary reasons, make sure to set them up on the gravel driveway in front of the house rather than out the back door where the neighbor up the hill and across the street behind the house will fear you'll start a forest fire). The juke box, with its speakers on the porch, was stocked with tons of CDs to choose from from every genre. The adjacent neighbors and those we met walking our dogs along the road were all friendly."

Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park (20 minutes away)This ski resort was recently sold, and the new owner is building mountains, bought 2 snow making machines, put in a new Gondola, and much much more. There is also tubing.

Belleayre Mountain Ski Center located in Highmount NY, about 50 miles from the house.

Plattekill Mountain
Plattekill Mountain is a privately owned and operated ski and bike resort northwest of Catskill Park in the town of Roxbury, New York. It features a vertical drop of 1,100 feet with 38 trails of varying degrees of difficulty.

FISHING: WATER AND ICE
Anglers have success catching trout trolling spoons and plugs. White Lake also has a good bass population. Largemouth bass can be found around weed beds fished with spinnerbaits and plastic worms. Smallmouth bass bass like to hang out around rock piles and will bite crank baits and tube jigs.

We live on the lake and have neighbor that are fairly close. We ask that you obey the noise ordinance in Bethel NY which is no loud noise, music, or conversations past 10PM.
No parties are allowed.
PETS: Non shedding, small dogs under 20lbs allowed. There will be an addition cleaning fee for dogs that shed if approved.
Dog friendly: $100 fee per pet, after the first dog. Please keep your dog leashed and pick up after your dog.

For your security there is an outdoor blink camera and a ring doorbell. It can be disconnected if you choose not to want this.

- "House was exactly as described and staying on the lake was wonderful. Our kids really enjoyed fishing off of the dock, the blow up float and the provided canoe, paddle boat and kayak. The stairs leading up to the upstairs kids area is a very steep, so that’s something to keep in mind if your kids are younger. We kept our little guy in the downstairs bedroom, but the space upstairs is great and our older daughter loved it. Vickie was a pleasure at check in, showing us all of the features, and very quick to respond to any inquiries we had. There was an incident before check out with some damage that I wasn’t aware of until afterwords - my brother in law made a careless mistake - Vickie was quick to address with me and understanding, we will be resolving it. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I hope to return again."

- "We loved this house, it’s such a unique and beautiful structure and much attention to detail. They made use of every inch. Well appointed kitchen, games, books, and close to the lake! The roads had more elevation than I expected but made for great exercise. The lakes in the area are really beautiful. We loved the record player and lights above the dining table as well as the fire pit and many chairs fir relaxing around back. Would definitely go again!"

Our home is divided between a main house and an attached guest suite that has a separate entrance. The entire property is fenced in and the driveway can fit 2-3 vehicles comfortably.

- "Exactly what we saw in the description.We absolutely loved it. Thank you!" - "One of the easiest hosts, it was such a pleasure, would love to come back again. Thanks Mark!" - "We did not realize there were no TVs in any of the rooms on the property. One of the showers was not working or a lamp in one of the bedrooms. We had three days of bad weather, and no one came to plow or walkway, driveway, or steps, leading to the house, and someone had a bad fall down the steps. Basics such as cookie sheets, strainer and measuring spoons were not provided. There were no plates or coffee mugs. While the house held enough room, for all of us, the thermostats ran very high, making the bedrooms extremely hot. Realizing this is the first time the unit was being rented, I think the owners need to realize what needs to be provided when renting. At the very least, someone should’ve come over to clear the ice and snow."
