A stunning, modern, self-contained bungalow in the grounds of a private house in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Lodge is a perfect base for mountain biking, road biking, walking, hiking, bird watching and exploring villages in the surrounding area.

The space
The Lodge is a self-contained, detached space with one dedicated off-road parking space and private entrance.

It has a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, American style fridge/freezer and washing machine/tumble dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday including a garlic press! We have also provided picnic wear, cool bag, ice blocks and a picnic blanket.

In addition we provide all cleaning materials including washing up liquid, laundry tablets, fabric softener, antibacterial spray, floor cleaner, mop and bucket, dishwasher tablets, dishwasher salt and rinse aid. As a result of the pandemic we also supply our guests with antibacterial wipes, hand sanitiser and disposable gloves.

Additional small appliances include kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, microwave, iron, vacuum cleaner and hair dryer

For those guests bringing infants we can supply a high chair, travel cot, plastic plates, bowls and cutlery.

For convenience we provide salt, pepper, cooking oil, tomato ketchup, salad cream, brown sauce, English mustard, kitchen roll, tea, instant coffee, ground coffee, sugar, cling film, foil and ziplock bags.

If required we are more than happy to provide a welcome pack (milk, bread, butter etc), please contact us at least 5 days prior to your arrival with a list of your requirements. Payment can be made on arrival.

The living and dining area is open plan with double French doors opening onto the garden with a double sofa bed, dining table seating six, a three seater sofa and an armchair.

The bathroom has a double size shower and is accessed via the bedroom. We provide shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lavatory paper.

The bedroom is equipped with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and can be set up either with two single beds or one super king.

The lodge has a large flatscreen TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky (including Sky Sports) and 200Mb broadband.

There's a selection of board games, cards and books available and a guest information folder containing details of shops, pubs, restaurants, parking, taxis, trains etc. There are also local guides and leaflets on walks and recommended days out. Please note we have two very friendly, male dogs who have the run of the garden.

Guests have the use of a private patio with a table and four chairs.

We also provide a laundry airer and outside rotary washing line for guests to use.

The Lodge is located at the bottom of the rear garden of the main house and is approximately 100 feet from the parking area at the front of the main house. The driveway is gravel and not suitsble for wheelchair users.

Other things to note
There is an outdoor swimming pool in the garden by the main house which is not available for use by guests. It has no cover or safety fence and for this reason we cannot accommodate children between the ages of 2 and 12 years due to pool safety issues.

Beautiful modern and stylish 2 bed house with a large living dinning area. This property has just been recently refurbished. The living room has a large sofa bed, a stylish centre table and a large smart Tv with Netflix, YouTube etc. The property is within walking distance to Aylesbury theatre, Aylesbury train station, town centre, local shops and close proximity to stoke Mandeville stadium and Milton Keynes.
There is also a workstation for those working from home.

- "No communication about how to get in until I asked so we were stuck outside for half an hour. It was freezing when we got in. Put the heating on straight away and it took about 5 hours to warm up as many of the windows need replacing and two of them are so broken they won't shut. The whole place has a cheap feel, bad bedding, not enough pillows, fridge noisy. I'm glad we only had one night booked. It was fairly clean. Lots of things offered on the website didn't exist, like printer or internet access. There's a telly, but it's not logged in so you can't watch anything unless you have a hotspot with you. Needs more investment."

The space
Being a Grade II listed property of historical interest, the layout of Merlins' Stables is naturally very unique and quirky, maintaining all of its original features including the individual stable dividers, oak beams and restored brickwork.

As you enter the property, you are greeted by an open plan layout with two private bedrooms on the ground floor. The master king bedroom with ensuite can be found on the first floor using the beautiful handmade spiral staircase.

The remainder of the ground floor is 'open plan' stable-like. Renovated to an incredibly high standard with only the best quality fixtures and fittings used. The kitchen is handmade and sits timelessly within one of the stable nooks.

There are an array original features dotted all over the building that have been restored showing just what it would have been like 300 years ago. Other features include a stunning hand-crafted dining table and benches made from a single slab of local oak - a beautiful example of local craftsmanship.

Something good about the property is that it’s right on the main road and everything is very nearby. Stoke Mandeville Hospital is literally 5 minutes walk and town is less than 20 minutes. Bus stop is 1 minute away from home. Buses available are no. 300, 13, 7, 55, 165. Two shopping choices are Asda which is next to the hospital and CO OP almost 2 steps away from the house which is very convenient. As for the room, it is clean, light and airy. It’s the perfect option for a comfortable stay.

It's 8 minutes walk to TESCO Extra. It is also two minutes walk to the shops (TK Max, Next, M&S Food Hall and MacDonalds).
There are buses on the Bicester Road towards the town centre (5 minutes on the bus).

Lovely downstairs accommodation with your own entrance to a single bedroom and private, large shower room. Wifi included. Situated in a beautiful village with local shops and amenities, 1 mile from Thame, Oxfordshire, 15 minutes from M40 to London and 7 minutes from mainline British Rail station at Haddenham.

The space
A comfortable single bedroom for one with single bed, desk, tv, armchair and ample storage space, free Wi-Fi, overlooking pretty garden and your own back door entrance. Private bathroom is a large wet room with shower, basin and wc.

Guest access
Coffee/tea making facilities in room and use of microwave in kitchen. Long Crendon is a great village with lots of amenities, including 2 pubs and 3 restaurants/take aways, with local shops for emergencies/post office. The old market town of Thame is only 20 minutes walk away or first stop on the bus, where there are a range of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. Access to attractive garden, which surrounds the house, private and bordered by trees and sitting and eating area to the rear and to the side.

During your stay
I work part-time as a teacher and am usually home in the afternoon to welcome guests. So, you will have private access during the day and I am in during the afternoon/evenings to help with anything you may need during your stay. I am friendly and enjoy meeting people, and wish to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Double bedroom in a modern new build family terraced house in Aylesbury. There is one free parking space behind the house and free on street parking, but please consider the neighbours. It's a 5 mins walking distance to stoke mandeville hospital, ASDA & Cooperation supermarket. 7 mins drive to Stoke Mandeville train station, Aylesbury train station and town centre. London Marleybone is 1 hour by train. It's a great location for exploring the London, Chilterns Hills, Oxford and Buckinghamshire.

This room is in semi-detached house within walking distance to Waddesdon Manor and Waddesdon C of E School. The village has a lot of designated areas for outdoor activities, there is a connecting greenway that goes all the way to Aylesbury Vale Parkway Station suitable for a run and for cyclists.

Other things to note
Please be advised that the transportation is not amazing. If you drive it will make it more convenient for you. However if not, there is a bus time and the bus number is 16 and 17. The bus does not run on Sundays. If you do require a driver, there is a driver in the house, who can come up with a plan to help you out.

The location is quite central, with a 20/30 minute walk to Aylesbury train and bus station where you can access London, Oxford and Bicester.
