Beautiful garden. The parking is tight for large vehicles but we made it work. The cottage is cute with historic charm and some low ceilings, but we’re all over 6’ tall found the charm worth ducking our heads for. Highly recommend the Dolphin House!"

The lovely town of Burford occupies a position on the meandering River Windrush. Burford is built on a fairly steep hill, and the view from the top of the hill looking down the High Street to the river is one of the classic panoramas of the Cotswolds. A lovely 4-arched medieval bridge, widened in the 18th century, crosses the Windrush, and though Burford itself does not occupy the northern bank, a walk across the bridge is rewarded by wonderful views across watermeadows to the spire of St. John the Baptist parish church.
152 The Hill has been completed renovated and now offers 5 individual holiday homes, The Barn is one of them, all five properties can be all be rented if you would like, family Christmas, special occasions, the whole property will sleep up to 23, but you will all have your individual space, please see 8379754, 8379757, 8379752, 6977567, and please contact us for details.
The Barn is a two bedroom cottage, with one bathroom with shower, it can sleep up to 4 people, the bedrooms are individual, one double bed and one with a king size bed, downstairs is a large open plan living, kitchen, dining area and a sitting room with TV. Outside there is a small private area just for this cottage, where there is table and chairs to relax in.
A communal garden can be found at the back of the property, it is lawned and is available to all guests that are staying at 152 The Hill. When you step outside the property, you are metres away from a newsagent, a butcher, a deli, a chemist, restaurants, pubs, a little further down is the Co-op shop. It is a brilliant place to stay as a base to explore the Cotswolds, with many places to visit.

- "Lovely location" - "We had a great stay. Thanks!" - "The Barn was walking distance to town, shops, and restaurants. There was a nearby grocery store and we drove to other Cotswold towns from Burford.. We enjoyed the shared courtyard and the cupcakes on arrival! We would definitely book this property again if we were to return to England!" - "Pro’s: Great location on main street of adorable Burford. Clean accommodations with all necessities. Comfortable beds and nice bath amenities. Con’s: Very difficult parking due to no designated parking, location and popular town. Housekeeper parked is loading zone and shop keeper harassed us while we loaded up in another loading zone. Potential for noise as shared common area right in front of this unit, so if you want privacy, this is not it. About 5 units in this shred complex. All things considered, would stay there again!"

Worth a visit!" - "Excellent apartment for a trip round the Cotswolds . Good parking clean and spacious with lovely views of the surrounding fields . All mod cons so easy to self cater if wanted . Old Burford Cottage is the largest 2 bed on the High Street. The cottage was originally two cottages, but we have lovingly converted into one spacious cottage for upto 4 people. A beautiful cottage built in the region of 1840 to accompany The George Inn. Situated 10 yards off the famous Burford High Street, it is peacefully quiet and has been refurbished to an immaculate standard, whilst keeping tradition. The location is possibly the best in Burford, it’s genuinely amazing …location, location!
The space
Boasting a large open plan living area, two king size bedrooms, bathroom and downstairs loo. It’s super comfortable throughout for all ages.
Everything inside has been thought about, this is our 2nd holiday home and we think we’ve got it just right for your visit.
Guest access
There is a small car park that can be utilised during your stay. Once you arrive and park, you are ‘slap bang’ in the middle of Burford, but as said, it’s amazing as the archway from The Old George Inn does not allow cars, so super peaceful and quiet after you finish eating, walking or shopping in The Hill……Burford is idyllic and well worth a visit.
Other things to note
20% discount for 7 night stays. We happily welcome wonderful people to Old Burford Cottage, and it’s more than a business to our family, it’s a way of welcoming guests from worldwide locations, and we can’t wait to meet you. This is a peaceful, 5* property in the centre of Burford with no expense spared, and we really appreciate you looking after it, as if it were your own, but making it ‘home from home’ for you and your family.
- "We had a fantastic week in this superb cottage. Everything is perfect, the location as well as the cottage itself (decorated with so much love!). Burford is a wonderful Cotswolds town. So for a perfect time in the Cotswolds look no further!" - "The cottage is lovely; simply decorated and uncluttered, but maintains its idyllic English country charm. Even more ideal is its location - one minute walk to all Burford has to offer (yet the cottage is exceptionally quiet). Having tried to visit all the Cotswolds’ villages, we think Burford was the best choice in size (plenty of food options) and balance of the tourist trail (busy but not crazy) and the cottage provides an excellent base to be there."

Town: Burford is possibly one of, if not THE most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located mid way between Oxford and Cheltenham (25 mins each away) it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit.
The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits!
With little changing over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all with 25 minutes from the property.
- "We really enjoyed our stay. The property has a lovely outlook over the countryside and is peaceful and tranquil. The cottage is cosy and just the right size for four people. It has everything you need for either a short stay or a lover period (we stayed for just over a week). It is a short drive, or half an walk (if you take it slowly) to Burford that has all the amenities that you would need on a holiday. It is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds and undertaking day trips. The next time that we are back in the UK we will look to book again."
