Love the big windows that allows us to see the backyard with the river going through! There were 4 of us and it was perfect amount of space. I think think this space fits 4-6 people comfortably (8 is a stretch). Host was very responsive when some issues arose. I suggested a few minor kitchen / bathroom updates for him. The walking distance little convenient store was really nice to have . Located inside Yosemite. 1-hour drive to Yosemite Valley for great hiking spots. I recommend Mist Trail for all the first-timers!"

(On VRBO it did not list AC under the amenities, but reading the reviews and contacting the property manager, they confirmed it did). The AC worked well, the beds were soft, things were clean. It was nice to stay inside the south gates of Yosemite, so we didn't have to worry about lines at the gate coming in."

- "Our cabin was conveniently located in Wawona, which saved us quite a bit of time accessing the valley floor. It was nice to be able to return to a clean, comfortable cabin after a long, hot day at play. Our only wish would have been for air conditioning as our stay was on one of the hottest weeks of the year, but the experience was great overall!" - "We celebrated our 60th birthday with long time friends at your beautiful cabin! Everything about it was perfect. The kitchen was so well-equipped for any type of cooking. The living room was cozy with plenty of seating for family time. Games and books are provided. There's a huge fire place for cooler months. The beds were comfortable and clean .... felt a lot like the one I have at home! Oh! And the back porch was great for evening rest and morning prayer time! We did a lot of hiking in Yosemite and needed this lovely cabin to refresh."

Rental Agreement- Immediately after booking, the rental agreement displayed at checkout will be sent to you via text and email for E-signing. Kindly E-sign this within 48 hours to finalize your reservation. You will also need to upload a photo of the ID associated with the credit card on file. This is solely for fraud protection purposes. E-signing allows you to go straight to the property upon your arrival, instead of coming to our office to sign and get a key!
Welcome Guide - One week prior to arrival, we will text you a link to an online welcome guide. It will have your special door code, address, items provided, and much more!
Access to Yosemite and Nearby Attractions- Yosemite National Park, like many others across the United States, has implemented a reservation system in recent years to manage visitor numbers effectively. Since this home is located INSIDE Yosemite National Park, you will NOT NEED a separate entrance reservation, only proof of your lodging reservation (please see official park website for details). We highly recommend that visitors planning a trip to Yosemite stay informed by regularly checking the National Parks websites and affiliated sources for any updates regarding the reservation system. While we strive to provide our guests with an exceptional experience, it's important to note that access to Yosemite or nearby attractions cannot be guaranteed, especially during peak seasons. By staying informed and flexible, visitors can better navigate their travel plans and make the most out of their trip to this beautiful region.
Kitchen- The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cookware, cups, silverware, and more! Our housekeeping team leaves out salt, pepper, and a can of cooking spray. Friends, family, and other guests sometimes leave spices, aluminum foil or ziploc bags at the home. You are most welcome to use any of these items, but if something is particularly crucial to the success of your meals, we do recommend bringing it along with you.
Linens- Our vacation homes are some of the few in the Yosemite area to use professionally laundered linens. All linens are professionally serviced for each and every reservation. The linens are washed in commercial grade washers with stronger hypoallergenic detergent than you would find in a residential washer. All linens are then pressed with an iron at 300° F, vs. a standard home dryer that only reaches 160°. You are not likely to find this level of service in other vacation homes.
Fireplace- Kindly note that any type of wood burning is typically unavailable in the summer and fall months, due to heightened fire risk in the area. Propane fireplaces and BBQ grills are usable year round.
Dog Friendly! - This property IS dog friendly! Please indicate that you will be bringing a dog when you make your reservation and a $100 pet fee will be assessed. This $100 covers the entire stay, and is not a per day charge. There is a 2 dog maximum at the property. Please do not allow your dog(s) on the furniture or leave your dog(s) in the home unattended and use a leash when outside, per county ordinance.
Parking- There is enough parking for 4 cars at this property. We appreciate you not exceeding the maximum parking limit. Many of the local roads are privately owned and privately maintained. Please be mindful to obey speed laws and drive slowly in residential neighborhoods!
Early or Late Check-ins- Early check ins are often difficult for our team to accommodate. If you would like to check in early, please reach out to us after 2PM on the day of your arrival so we can check with our team. If you need guaranteed early check in, we recommend booking the night before your arrival so that you may check in as early as you wish. For checkout, most vacation homes have a 10AM check out in our area. We provide an 11AM checkout, and unfortunately can rarely offer a later checkout.
Occupancy- Maximum occupancy of 8 guests regardless of age. Infants are included in the total. This is strictly enforced. No having events/weddings/large dinner gatherings/guests over just to visit.
Garbage- Garbage truck service is not available in this area. Yosemite Park requires visitors to "pack out" their garbage. There are several free bear proof dumpsters within walking distance of the cabin where you can dispose of your garbage. We have directions inside the welcome binder in the cabin!
Chains- This property is located inside Yosemite National Park at an elevation of 4000 feet. Snow can often be expected from the late fall to the spring. California Highway Patrol and the National Parks Service may require chains and/or 4 wheel drive with snow tires in wintery/snowy/icy conditions. Please ensure you are bringing a vehicle and necessary equipment capable of navigating in these conditions.
No Smoking- The Smoke Remediation Fee will be a minimum of $500 for smoking in the house and could be higher depending on the extent of the damage.
Insurance- Travel Insurance is provided as an option during the checkout process. Please note that as hosts, we cannot protect your trip from flight delays, illnesses, weather, job loss, or other circumstances that may prevent you from making your trip. We truly wish we could! We STRONGLY suggest purchasing some type of Travel Insurance so that you may protect your vacation investment from unforeseen circumstances that may prevent you from making your trip. It's a nominal cost that can absolutely pay off!
Mail- Due to locked neighborhood mailboxes, we ask you not mail anything to the property. You are most welcome to mail items to our office (Love Yosemite! Vacation Rentals) in Oakhurst. Please reach out to us to make arrangements.
Calling Us - After booking, you are always welcome to call us at our main phone number, 24/7. That number does not receive text messages, but you will receive a text from us after booking and you can respond to that text thread any time you like. We check text messages regularly during the day and early evening.
Please note this property is nestled in the breathtaking Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, offering a serene escape into nature. However, being in such a pristine environment means that you may occasionally encounter some of nature's residents, such as ants, spiders, insects, mice, and cobwebs. We take every precaution, including regularly scheduled professional pest control to minimize these occurrences, but they are a natural part of the mountain experience and may get past our defenses from time to time. If you do notice any of this during your stay, please let us know so we can promptly address them and ensure your comfort.
Neighbors- Please do not trespass on the neighboring properties. We appreciate you respecting the local neighborhood!

The history village is filled with docents, stagecoach rides, horseback rides, and barn dances in the summer season and the Wawona Meadow Loop offers year round riparian meadow wildlife viewing.
Wawona was known to the local Native American Miwok in their language as Pallachun (a good place to stay). It is located entirely within Yosemite National Park (it preceded the founding of the park as a national recreation area) and is located on the South fork of the wild and scenic Merced River, on the main highway (State Route 41) from Fresno to Yosemite Valley.
Galen Clark, who helped gain preservation legislation for Mariposa Grove and what later became part of Yosemite National Park, occupied the Wawona area in 1855 and established a tourist rest and modest ranch which he later sold and made into a hotel and resort property (the Wawona Hotel). The Wawona post office was established in 1878 and was originally called Clark's Station.
The Redwoods In Yosemite has over 110 vacation rental homes and is proud to say that all of them are located in Wawona. All are within walking distance of everything that Wawona has to offer and every one of them is surrounded by the majesty of Yosemite National Park!

Thoroughly enjoyed your cabin!" - "The Chipmunk Cabin was cozy and clean. We had a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend it for any season."

Kindly E-sign this within 48 hours to finalize your reservation. You will also need to upload a photo of the ID associated with the credit card on file. This is solely for fraud protection purposes. E-signing allows you to go straight to the property upon your arrival, instead of coming to our office to sign and get a key!

You are most welcome to use any spices, but if a certain spice is crucial to the success of your vacation, we do recommend bringing it along with you.
Fireplace/Firepits- Kindly note that any type of wood burning is typically unavailable in the summer and fall months, due to heightened fire risk in the area. Propane firepits and BBQ grills are usable year round. Since the property has an adequate heating system, firewood is not provided. You are most welcome to bring any for your own ambiance if you wish, or can use any that might be at the property left by friends, family, or other guests.
Hot Tub- There is no lifeguard on duty for the hot tub. Please use at your own risk. We kindly ask that you shower prior to entering the hot tub.
Early check ins are often difficult for our team to accommodate.
There is parking for 2 cars. Many of the local roads are privately owned and privately maintained. We appreciate you not exceeding the maximum parking limit.
Early or Late Check-ins- Early check ins are often difficult for our team to accommodate. It's a nominal cost that can absolutely pay off!

Calling Us - After booking, you are always welcome to call us at our main phone number, 24/7. Please note that this property is nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, a beautiful escape into nature. However, being in such a pristine, natural environment means we occasionally encounter some of nature's residents, such as ants, spiders, insects, mice and cobwebs. While we take every precaution (including regularly scheduled pest control) to minimize these occurrences, they are a natural part of the mountain experience. Please do inform us if you experience any of these during your stay, so that we have the chance to address them to give you a more comfortable experience.
Neighbors- Please do not trespass on the neighboring properties. We appreciate you respecting the local neighborhood!

2. No need to wash any sheets or towels, they're all professionally serviced off-site.
3. If you have time to wash your dishes, that would be helpful.
4. Yosemite National Park requires visitors to "pack out" their garbage. For your convenience, the park has placed several free, bear proof dumpsters in the Wawona area!
5. Most importantly, please return any furniture you may have moved during your stay.
P.S. Don't forget to get a last minute photo or two with your family and friends before leaving!
After booking, the rental agreement displayed at checkout will also be sent for E-sign to the email on file. Kindly E-sign this within 48 hours after you make your booking to finalize your reservation.

Parking- There is enough parking for 3 cars at this property.
Occupancy- Maximum occupancy of 9 guests regardless of age.

- "From first glance inside the cabin door, to the discovery of a swimming hole less than a mile away, to holding babies on the porch and cooking group meals, “A Place to Call Home” was everything our family wanted and needed. It was perfect. Only snaffoo was in missing the written directions about, “First cabin on the right of the entrance road.” Be sure to not completely trust your gps. Thank you for a fabulous time celebrating family and new twin babies!"

About the Area
Nestled just 4 miles inside the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is the charming and historic town of Wawona. Located at the base of Chilnualna Falls (the second highest vertical drop waterfall in Yosemite), and home to the principal trailheads into the southern Yosemite wilderness, Wawona is also the closest town to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
Wawona has the feel of a small town but is bustling with activity! Over 160 residents, including Yosemite Park employees, live in Wawona and can be seen gathering at the town's community center, playing a pickup game of basketball at the elementary school, jogging on one of the many picturesque trails, or simply walking their dogs and baby strollers through the winding residential streets. The historic Wawona Swinging Bridge boasts the best natural water slide in the Park!
- "The main attraction for us was staying inside the national park, which eliminated the need to go through the ranger stations each morning. It's a small place but was very clean with most of the basics provided (no soap or shampoo for showers)." - "The cabin was very nice and comfortable. Great location! Would come back" - "Love, Love, Loved our stay. Perfect place to launch our Yosemite adventure. Best part, sitting on the deck listening to the sound of the river flow below."

Make Whispering Pines your home base for your Yosemite vacation! This little cabin is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. As you enter the home you are greeted by warm custom wood work, all locally sourced and milled from Ponderosa Pines that were devastated by the bark beetle. Marvel at the blue tint and borrowing holes left behind by the beetle. The living room has a leather sofa set with queen size sofa bed (recommended for kids only), 43" smart UHD TV with dish network and DSL WiFi. The bedroom hosts a medium firm queen size hybrid mattress and custom made Ponderosa Pine headboard. The bathroom is equipped with a walk in shower and hand held shower head. The kitchen has all appliances including dishwasher, microwave, toaster and blender. All cookware and utensils provided. The spacious rear deck has a propane Weber Grill and we provide the propane. Located in central Wawona you can enjoy walks through the community, take a dip in the Merced River on warm summer days or stargaze at the Yosemite night sky. Wawona is home to the Pioneer history museum, the trail head for the Chilnualna Falls trail, close to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and one of the few locations in the park with local market and gas.
This home is pet friendly for an additional fee.
- "Excellent!" - "Clean, quiet, loved the upgraded interior." - "Everything is brand-new inside the cabin, and obviously professionally decorated and designed for efficiency, comfort and a genuine mountain feel. It is very small, but cozy for 2 people. We did not bring our dog since the local trail (Chilnhuana Falls) does not allow dogs and there is no fenced yard or fenced deck at the cabin. The Wawona community is charming, quiet and friendly, the cabin is super-comfortable and it is conveniently located on a good-sized lot near the market and trailhead. We felt safe there even though we are too senior gals traveling alone. I should also add that the bed was very comfortable, unlike the beds at the super-expensive Ahwahnee Hotel that we had just left! Besides being clean, the cabin is very open and airy with lots of windows and 2 nice decks with views. I have stayed in lots of "funky" old cabins I didn't like, and I am picky, I should also add. A great find!"

- "We found the log home exremely clean and comfortable. It was well appointed and borderline luxurious. The ONLY negative during our stay was an empty LP gas cylinder discovered when we went to use the barbecue" - "This was one of the best properties we have stayed at. While pricey, we really appreciated how well-designed & airy the house was. It was spotless and clean. Like a previous reviewer, my family is sensitive to dust and we had zero issues. You are close to other houses but we didn't hear anything. We had a few very minor issues and the maintenance staff was very responsive."

- "Plenty of room for all guests. Deer at doorsteps. Quiet and peaceful. Ton of badminton and volleyball stuff, which we loved. Books, boardgames, and little hot tub, were all great. Kitchen is absolutely fully stoked, and had good pots and pans. Wifi was ok, no other reception on phone. Beds were comfortable, sofa beds were not so much, but thats nothing new. Little market nearby. Otherwise place needs TLC to get it into this era." - "The house was perfect! So spacious and has everything you need to relax. We really enjoyed the 3 en-suite bedrooms which provided privacy/space for the 3 couples in our group. There is also an upstairs loft bedroom and a game room, which we barely used! The house is about a 40 min drive to The Valley, so plan accordingly for hikes/day activities. There is a really convenient shop nearby for essentials/things you forgot. The kitchen is fully stocked! The only thing we would have preferred were a couple extra towels for the hot tub vs shower towels."

- "We enjoyed our stay at the Avid Hiker Cabin. It is located in Wawona which is just inside the gates of Yosemite Ntl park. Note, it’s about 40+ min drive into Yosemite valley. The Pine street store is close enough to walk to if you need groceries. The cabin was clean and spacious. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the AC worked… made the hot summer visit pleasant. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well; away from the hustle/bustle of Yosemite valley. The kitchen was well stocked with most everything you’d need to cook. We made pancakes on our last morning. There was a washer/dryer in the cabin though we didn’t use it. Two bathrooms, one with a shower. Would advise you to bring your own toiletries - no shampoo/conditioner provided which was no big deal as we had packed ours. There was a propane BBQ on the deck and a nice outdoor seating area with sun umbrella we didn’t use any but nice it was available TV with Hulu, Netflix which was a hit with kids. Wi-Fi worked well which also was a hot with kids. Overall, very comfortable, cute & met our needs."

About the Area
Nestled just 4 miles inside the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is the charming and historic town of Wawona. Located at the base of Chilnualna Falls (the second-highest vertical drop waterfall in Yosemite), and home to the principal trailheads into the southern Yosemite wilderness, Wawona is also the closest town to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
Wawona has the feel of a small town but is bustling with activity! Over 160 residents, including Yosemite Park employees, live in Wawona and can be seen gathering at the town's community center, playing a pickup game of basketball at the elementary school, jogging on one of the many picturesque trails or simply walking their dogs and baby strollers through the winding residential streets. The historic Wawona Swinging Bridge boasts the best natural water slide in the Park! The historic village is filled with docents, stagecoach rides, horseback rides, and barn dances in the summer season and the Wawona Meadow Loop offers year round riparian meadow wildlife viewing.
Wawona was known to the local Native American Miwok in their language as Pallachun (a good place to stay). It is located entirely within Yosemite National Park (it preceded the founding of the park as a national recreation area), and is located on the South fork of the wild and scenic Merced River, on the main highway (State Route 41) from Fresno to Yosemite Valley.
Galen Clark, who helped gain preservation legislation for Mariposa Grove and what later became part of Yosemite National Park, occupied the Wawona area in 1855 and established a tourist rest and modest ranch which he later sold and made into a hotel and resort property (now called Big Trees Lodge). The Wawona post office was established in 1878 and was originally called Clark's Station.
The Redwoods In Yosemite has over 120 vacation rental homes and is proud to say that all of them are located in Wawona. All are within walking distance to everything that Wawona has to offer and every one of them is surrounded by the majesty of Yosemite National Park!
- "I was impressed with the kitchen, high end finishes throughout and layout of the cabin. It felt private while still allowing in a lot of natural light. Plus the grocery store is conveniently located around the corner. I would have liked additional bath towels, better bar soap and more cooking basics provided like coffee, oil, etc. It was an amazing place to stay for any reason and we look forward to returning soon!" - "This place is amazing. Beautiful property, excellent location"

Other things to note
GROCERIES: We have two convenience stores in the Wawona area. The Pine Tree Market is located on Chilnualna Falls Road and Wawona Market is located on Forest Drive. We recommend that you stop in the town of Oakhurst, the last major town you come to before you get to the park, to do any major grocery shopping. There is a Vons, Raley’s, CVS and Rite Aid.
GAS: There are only three gas stations located inside Yosemite National Park. One is located approximately 2 miles from our office, another is located in Crane Flat, and the third one is in Tuolumne Meadows. We recommend you get gas in the town of Oakhurst considering it is less expensive than it is in park.
WINTER CONDITIONS: Yosemite experiences all four seasons which bring occasional stormy weather and power outages. Winter driving conditions can exist from November to April, and you are required to carry tire chains during those months (even on 4-wheel drive vehicles). The dates can change depending on the weather. To find out what the current restrictions are, call Caltrans and inquire about HWY 41, or visit their website. You can buy chains at almost any auto parts store. We do not supply them. There will be no refunds due to inclement weather or power outages.
LAUNDRY: Washers and dryers are available at our main office building, the machines are complementary, however, we do not provide detergent. There is detergent available for purchase at the local "Pine Tree" market.

However, if multiple devices are constantly running, it may slowdown (this is very common at most places with Wifi in our area)..
Please note: Indoor fireplaces and outdoor fire pits are NOT allowed during county-wide burn bans, which often occur in the summer and fall months. This is due to heightened fire risk in the area at those times. Since the cabin has heating, we do not provide firewood, but you are most welcome to bring some for ambiance if you would like. The outdoor BBQ grill is usable year round!
Hot Tub- There is no lifeguard on duty for the hot tub. Please use at your own risk. We kindly ask that you shower prior to entering the hot tub.
No Pets - Thank you for helping us protect those with pet allergies
There is parking for 5 cars. Many of the local roads are privately owned and privately maintained. We appreciate you not exceeding the maximum parking limit.
This property is located inside Yosemite National Park at an elevation of 4000 feet. Snow can often be expected from the late fall to the spring. California Highway Patrol and the National Parks Service may require chains and/or 4 wheel drive with snow tires during this time.
Other things to note
Early or Late Check-ins- Early check ins are often difficult for our team to accommodate. If you would like to check in early, please reach out to us after 2PM on the day of your arrival so we can check with our team. If you need guaranteed early check in, we recommend booking the night before your arrival so that you may check in as early as you wish. For checkout, most vacation homes have a 10AM check out in our area. We provide an 11AM checkout, and unfortunately can rarely offer a later checkout.
Occupancy- Maximum occupancy of 10 guests regardless of age. Infants are included in total. This is strictly enforced. No events/weddings/large dinner gatherings/guests over just to visit.
There are multiple EXTERNAL ONLY security cameras on the premises. These cameras face the entrance points of the home.
If you believe there is any chance you might not be able to make your trip, Travel Insurance should always be considered, unless you have other protections in place. Airbnb provides some great information at the link below. As hosts, we are not travel insurance providers and unfortunately cannot protect your travel plans from unexpected circumstances.

Due to locked neighborhood mailboxes, we ask you not mail anything to the property. You are most welcome to mail items to our office (Love Yosemite! Vacation Rentals) in Oakhurst. Please reach out to us to make arrangements.
Calling Us! - After booking, you are always welcome to call us at our main phone number, 24/7. That number does not receive text messages, but you will receive a text from us after booking and you can respond to that text thread any time you like. We check text messages regularly during the day and early evening.

LAUNDRY: Washers and dryers are available at our main office building, the machines are complementary, however, we do not provide detergent. There is detergent available for purchase at the local "Pine Tree" market.
