The Old Town is also very well-known for its colorful houseboat community and Pilot’s Monument which offers views of the city skyline, Great Slave Lake and northern landscape. In the summer, you can watch the float planes while dining on the deck of the Wildcat Café, Yellowknife’s first and most iconic restaurants in the North. In the winter, you can enjoy the Northern Lights and a dog sled ride from one of the local tour companies. Downtown Yellowknife is about a 10 minute drive or 25 minute walk and offers many other shops and restaurants.
We have wanted to open a B&B for some time. Blair and I were both born and raised in Yellowknife and sharing our community with others just feels natural. We have two children. We all enjoy spending time outdoors whether we are camping, fishing (summer and winter), snowmobiling, hiking, boating and swimming. The B&B suite is on the main floor of our home. This large property is in the top two stories of this three story home and has everything you need. Entrance is up the stairs to the deck on the second floor. Keyless entry into the suite makes for an easy check in. Relaxing features include 6-7 person hot tub, massage chair in the living room and a soaker tub in the primary suite bathroom. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. The large dinning room is great for dinner parties and the sunroom is great space for dining in the summer months. Hot tub in the sunroom is great all year round. Outside the sunroom and straight onto the large deck where you can relax and BBQ in the summer months. Fire pit is just off the deck with wood provided in the front of the home. Please check for fire bans prior to having a fire. 24ft round above ground pool 4ft deep will be operational late June to late August but is not guaranteed to be operational.
The home has two fireplaces, one in the living room and one in the primary bedroom. The primary bedroom also has an adjustable bed, smart TV and ensuite bathroom with a soaker tub, double vanity and separate shower. Living room has a leather reclining sofa, sofa bed and a 60 inch smart TV. Free wifi included as well as coffee and the basics for cooking. Your host is only a call away for any questions. There is no cable but lots of movies to choose from in the movie library

- "Our family of 5 adults visited Yellowknife for 7 days in July. This property is well located. It is within walking distance of a grocery store, restaurants, liquor store, and various coffee shops. We enjoyed walking to Old Town (1/2 hour walk), the museum and Legislative Assembly (both a 10-15 minute walk), and the Tuesday evening Farmer’s Market (5 minute walk). The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were clean with good black out drapes for long hours of daylight. Entry to the property is by moderately steep stairs as it is on rocky terrain. My 78 year old father was easily able to navigate the stairs fine but the property would not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Overall, a great place to stay!"
