Our adorable renovated cabin is half a block from the gorgeous Sylvan Lake beach, children's parks, restaurants and pubs. Go skating on the lake just a block away, near the amazing Christmas light display and open fire pits on the beach. There is so much to do in Sylvan Lake, any time of the year! Our cozy A-frame has been completely renovated and updated with new appliances, fixtures, beds, and furniture. The open loft has a queen sized bed, reading nook, and little balcony off the front. Downstairs boasts a bright & functional living room / dining room with lots of board games to choose from, record player, TV with Netflix & Disney+, fast wifi, and Bluetooth speaker. The modern rustic decor offers lots of seating, including a large pullout sofa.

The galley style kitchen is all new, including a few different options for your morning coffee. From there you will find the bathroom which has brand new everything. Finally, the bright & spacious master bedroom which also has a new queen bed, enclosed washer and dryer, and an open-concept ensuite bathroom with a large soaker tub. All of the soaps and hair products are cruelty free, vegan friendly, paraben free and free of sulfates. The space is entirely heated by two gas fireplaces, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room.

Outside we have a firepit, front porch, expansive front lawn and a cozy little private back yard as well. There are parking spaces from the back lane, so you can forget paying for parking and walk everywhere from this perfect location. - "Our family of four stayed in this cute and cozy cabin for an end of summer getaway from the city. It was perfectly located and just what we needed for us. Check in was a breeze and Kathy, the caretaker next door, was lovely our entire stay, always checking in to make sure we were OK. Susie, the owner, was always easily accessible via messaging and very responsive. The cabin was outfitted with everything we needed and we felt incredibly comfortable. It was a home away from home for sure. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable, so much so that I had to find out where they were from so we could purchase them both ourselves because I slept so well. The location is fantastic and we walked everywhere the whole time, only driving to Walmart (5 minute drive) for a few groceries. The beach, restaurants, parks and ice cream are steps away. I recommend checking out the Bamboo Hut (delicious Asian cuisine) , Pete’s at the Beach (they make the best fresh bread in house), and The Big Moo (ice cream flavours galore). Definite 5 stars for a very relaxing comfortable vacation. We can’t wait to come back!"

- "I flew into Edmonton and heading south, we found the Co-op Store in Rimbey ideal for shopping. The cabin has a very large fridge, so we stocked up and enjoyed most meals on the large deck with umbrella for shade. The weather was low 20s and mainly sunny, so we made good use of the bar-b-que for dinners. We got lots of exercise walking or riding bikes to the beach. My 2 grand-daughters, ages 10 and 12, went swimming every day, played basketball, read books while relaxing in the hammock, watched DVDs and helped gather kindling to start our nightly fire. We had 4 adults and 2 kids, so my son brought his camper for 1 adult to sleep in. The upstairs futon shouldn't be opened because it blocks the hallway, but would suit a child if unopened. I appreciated the well equipped kitchen, very clean out-house used occasionally and especially being secluded in a natural environment of trees, flowers, birds and squirrels...a truly refreshing experience!"

This suite is a separate space, that is all your own, with a walkout to the hot tub. It has its own bathroom with a very large shower. Across the hall is the bedroom and It’s meant to be comfortable and cozy. Then up the hall there is the Livingroom, kitchenette and eating space. We try to keep a great coffee bar as best as possible. If you need anything extra please let us know. There are usually a few extras in the fridge. NOTE: The second bed is a single cot.

Directions: Head northbound/Southbound on Hwy 2 if depending on where you are coming from South (Calgary) or Edmonton (Noth). Once you get to Hwy 11 take West toward Sylvan Lake.

Then exit right at the traffic circle. Take the first immediate right then your next street left. Your next second right at the gas station (Cango), Lakeway BLV. Then you take the next right at a walklight which is Old Boomer Rd. The next street you see named Lodge Place before the Fox Run school is ours.

Then you have if you use your GPS might take you into the back alley, DON'T which will keep you in circles and get you lost. The best way to avoid this is to put in 10 Lodge Place.
Then once you get to that address on the street keep on going to our address at 61 Lodge Place.

Parking - Park on the street we try to leave the front open so you can park in the front parallel or angle if you like please do not block our lawn as we park on that. Upon entry, your room will be located through the living room and to the left on the main floor. There are keys hanging on a hook next to the door that you can use for locking and re entry to your room to provide you with added security for your stay. Please return keys to the hook when your stay is complete with us. The bathroom that is for your shared use is to the right of the stairs. The kitchen is available between 7am-10pm as there are other guests in my home during your stay. You’re welcome to use the deck directly out the back door.

I’m available throughout your stay to answer any questions you might have. You may or may not see us during your stay as we are private people and we try to maintain your privacy. If you would like to meet us, please let us know as your comfort is of the upmost importance to us. Please don’t hesitate to message me here so that I may accommodate you with your requests.

There are 4 bedrooms, but when rented as a 1 Bedroom, the other 3 rooms are locked. And you have private lower floor on a beautiful acreage. NOT shared with anyone. Pets allowed with an extra fee.
Only 5 minutes: Westerner, Walmart, Costco, many restaurants, Tim's, Starbucks, A&W, Subway, KFC, Pizza, Edo, gas stations, liquor store, grocery stores.
Easy access to all highways. 10 min from downtown & Collicutt Rec Centre, &Arena.

The space
When anyone rents 1 bedroom (2, 3 or 4 bedrooms) , they have the whole apartment. Very large. (We just lock the unused rooms).

We clean everything very carefully between guests so everyone is safe.

We grew up on a farm and love living on an acreage. We love the peaceful life of an acreage, we hope you will too.

Fully furnished and clean 1600 sq.ft. Underfloor heating, so cozy in the winter. Cool and refreshing in the summer.
There is a train track nearby. We are used to it, but some guests find the train whistle loud.

Guest access
If you rent our space as a 1 bedroom, you have the whole suite to yourself.

But if you have more guests, the suite can be used as 2, 3 or 4 bedroom at the various prices. Feel free to contact us.
Parking is on the gravel pad in our yard.

We have recently installed a new water treatment system and reverse osmosis for drinking water.

Huge 5 acre yard to run and play.
Living on a quiet acreage is so enjoyable.
We would rather not accept requests for parties. Example weddings. Ten guests maximum please. Yes a tent is allowed.

Red Deer is a city known for its sporting events and warm hospitality and boasts over 100km of multi use recreation trails.

FIRE
There is a fire pit, you can bring your own firewood or we have big bundles available for $15. (See picture)

Propane FIRE PIT. If you don't want the hassle of starting a fire or buying firewood, we have a propane fire pit that can be rented. My wife loves it so she doesn't go to bed smelling like smoke. ALSO good if there is a fire ban on. (See picture)

CANOPY
For a small extra fee this 10 x 10 foot canopy can be a great addition to the camping experience. Especially if there are bugs. Works great with the propane fire pit put to capture some heat on a cooler night.

PETS
Here are a few simple rules for pets.
We ask that the pet is never left alone in the unit, and never on the furniture or beds.
There are young children nearby, so we ask that pets be on a leash. Even nice pets can scare young children.
Please clean up after you pet and some dogs pee on the grass and it kills the grass, or makes bright grass spots, we ask to have them go in a designated spot.
If you pet sheds a lot there could be an extra cleaning fee.

This home is located away from the hustle and bustle of the Lake This shared accommodation offers a full kitchen so bring your food to whip up a meal. There's a shelf in the fridge for your use. Please clean up after. Coffee and Tea provided

The patio is a lovely place to enjoy a morning coffee. Smoking allowed here only.

The space
This home is a shared accommodation. The main washroom is also. Please hang the Towels that are provided on the back of your bedroom door. Do not leave wet towels lying on the floor. Your personal toiletries may remain in the washroom if you prefer.
