Our cabin is an original 1928 Homestead with all the rustic charm, but completely rebuilt and remodeled with all the modern amenities of 2021.

Would recommend" - "This one-bedroom duplex is conveniently located, not too far from "down-town" and close to some of the birding hotspots we frequented. The unit is clean. The bedroom has lots of storage and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is spacious, although the shower could use a grab bar for senior citizens and a floor mat to prevent slipping. The kitchen is well appointed with a large refrigerator/freezer. We did not use the induction stove top or toaster oven, only the microwave and the coffee pot. We did not turn on the TV in the bedroom, only the one in the living room. At home we have satellite TV. The streaming TV service was new for us. We missed our regular channels, so we watched a lot of old programs. It was too windy to sit outside, but the back patio with chairs around a fire pit is a nice feature. There is a barbecue in the front, which we didn't use, either. We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay and are planning to make this our "home-away-from-home" again the next time we visit Anza-Borrego Desert State Park."

Please take note of our discounted weekly and monthly rates. Last but not least....... We finally have our spa up and running. If you are interested in using it we should talk. It takes a little extra effort and it uses a considerable amount of electricity; about $10 a day. To some guests it is worth it, and we are allowing guests to use it if they reimburse us for the extra electricity cost. Update!...... I also now have 2 bikes at the house for your biking pleasure. One is a nice fixed gear Janis road bike and the other is a Chinese mountain bike. Nothing special but good for cruising around the neighborhood, which I find really fun! You may have to top off the tires and if you get a flat or leak, please fix it or get it fixed so the next user can enjoy it. There is a bike shop in town with parts, tubes and tube repair kits. Its name is "Bike Borrego" They also rent bikes if you don t like ours. Bring your own helmet!

Our family has been coming to Borrego Springs and enjoying Anza Borrego State Park for over 20 years. Our favorite things about Borrego include incredible hiking, seasonal wildflower viewing, and off-roading in the Anza Borrego State Park. After a day in nature, sitting by the pool and then enjoying a great restaurant in Borrego Springs is a must. Top off the day with stargazing in this officially dark sky community! Our house is located within the community and is close to everything including golf, tennis, the award winning library, restaurants, shopping, Christmas Circle, and viewing the many desert sculptures throughout the valley. This is an iconic and very special place that will draw you in by its beauty, and small town feel but also provides all the amenities needed for a memorable stay.

We have two charming cozy casitas on the property, both offering the perfect blend of comfort and style. Owners are onsite and can be available to assist guest with certain needs. The Casita is adjacent to Borrego Springs Rd. The inside of the Casita is very quiet but there is occasional road noise when sitting outside.

The space
We are just opening up again after doing some nice upgrades, and also maintenance. Those of you who have stayed before will find many nice new touches, like a roof over the bedroom porch, huge Smart TV in the master bedroom, new kitchen items, etc. most of all we added a pool heater!

Description: We spent years hoping to find a vintage house in the De Anza Country Club on this particular block situated at the foot of Indian Head Mountain. One can take a short walk to the golf course, yet this private and peaceful setting overlooks the stunning Anza Borrego Desert. One day we just got lucky!

After a loving renovation, we filled the home with antiques and art collected from our travels around the world. Many of the art objects are spiritual in nature and reflect various cultures.

We decided to call it "The Hummingbird Haven of Borrego Springs." So many of these little gem birds flock to the property to sip nectar from the old and myriad desert plants -- both our Anza Borrego native, the Costa Hummingbird, and other migratory visitors. In traditional cultures all over the world, the Hummingbird symbolizes something magical. For example in Native American cultures, they are seen as healers and bringers of love, good luck, and joy. Yes, that evokes the spirit of this house and setting.

This enclave of lovely homes is only a five-minute drive to downtown Borrego Springs where you might enjoy many excellent restaurants or stroll through art galleries. The Anza Borrego Desert is the second largest state park in California and hiking there is an experience of a lifetime.

The spacious home has two bedrooms, two baths, a formal dining room and kitchen, a laundry room, a living room with a large fireplace, and a huge glass-enclosed family room that takes in the stunning desert and mountain vistas.

The bedrooms both have Cal King beds with brand new high-end mattresses (incredibly comfortable) and luxury bedding. A bath goes along with each bedroom.

We placed a luxury leather reclining chair and queen sofa sleeper with an upgraded jell mattress in the family room for extra guests.

We added many native plants to the already gorgeous property. Dive into the pool for cooling off during hot summer days, or soak under the stars in our Hot Springs spa. Enjoy cooking in the retro kitchen (with all new appliances) or outside on the propane Weber grill.

Enjoy our indoor/outdoor stereo speaker system with Bluetooth to connect to your iPhone, or dance back in time to our large collection of vintage records.

Curl up in a comfy chair or sofa and read from our libraries of books.
For those who enjoy working out, the stay includes the use of a full gym.

1. Pool is normally kept unheated to save energy. Pool heating is available for an additional charge of $80 per day - just let us know and we will have the pool heated for your stay.

2. The pool is open and un-fenced. Please carefully take note that this may not be appropriate for children. Children must be carefully monitored.

3. Note that when desert winds blow the pool will get dirty. I have the best possible pool man, but the desert is the desert and sand will sometimes blow. Our pool man cleans the pool twice per week, every Saturday in the early morning, and other days that may vary.

4. Also in the hottest season, wild desert bees will visit the pool to drink water. These are rare and endangered wild honey bees and we love them. They usually come early in the morning and are out by about 9:00 A.M but some may stay near the pool water spout. They are very mild bees, but recently a guest told me they had been stung. Please do not book out here in the hot months if you have bee allergies! There is nothing anyone can do to stop them from coming off the desert for water in the hottest season. Sorry!

5. We have regular pest control, but again, occasionally a bug will get in the house.

6. We are set right on the border of the largest State park In California. This is a gift of peace and desert beauty. We have a wildlife trail right beyond our wall and glimpse many wild animals. I have seen Desert Big Horn Sheep, coyotes, fox, and lynx outside the garden wall! We love this feature and the chance to see these beautiful wild animals, but please do not bother them and give them their space. Also please take note that this may not be appropriate for children. Children must be carefully monitored.

This desert getaway (within a duplex) is the retreat everyone needs and deserves. Even though the unit is located on Borrego Springs Road, and you may hear some street noise, the bedroom is located far enough to allow for a restful night’s sleep…as you know between 8 pm-morning there are few cars on the streets in Borrego. Don’t delay in getting your self-care and R&R…

It has been a joy to decorate the unit with furnishings from West Elm, Crate & Barrel, CB2, etc. Also, there are 2 mini-splits, 2 smart tvs, WIFI, YouTube TV (with over 70+ channels), fire pit, kitchen (induction cooktop, refrigerator, and toaster oven).

We do provide starter coffee, cream, sugar as well as welcome Pur water dispenser pitcher.

Please bring your own fire wood and fire starter as well as lighter (can’t guarantee lighter will be there as it keeps disappearing even though I have restocked it…apologies in advance)…

This 1960s desert inn & suites property is offering a studio apartment just 2 miles away from the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and walking distance from Downtown Borrego Springs. The 400 sq ft. studio apartment has a King sized bed and an additional sofa pull-out bed. The kitchen includes an electric range, full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, kitchen sink, pots, pans, utensils and silverware. The bathroom is newly remodeled with a large standup shower.

Rooms have a direct view of the beautiful mountains at sunrise and sunset every day. Plenty of space to relax on the private patio with the in-built charcoal barbecue. A portable propane barbecue is also available on request.

Bring your four-legged family members as pets are allowed (with extra pet fees $15/pet/nt). Relax in the sun or enjoy a swim in the heated pool during the spring, summer, winter, and fall months. Charcoal and propane barbecues are also available at the poolside.

Wi-Fi connectivity is available throughout the property and so are 100+ Direct-TV channels w/ HBO and Pay-per-view on the living room TV. Property manager lives close to the premise and is available for questions or concerns.

There are many things to see and do associate with the town and the Anza Borrego State Park. The well-known sky art desert sculptures are no more than 3 miles away. Our favorite part of this home is the outdoor patio area, the native plants and the vistas you can enjoy from inside or outside. This is a well appointed home, with nice furnishings and amenities.

The entire home is yours to enjoy. There is a large patio overlooking the Borrego Badlands and perfect for start gazing. There is a parking lot directly across from the house. Garage access is private storage for the owners, which is separate from the home.

We currently are not maintaining the outdated and complicated to run hot tub in the courtyard. There is a wonderful hot tub and 2 pools at the recreation center plus tennis and pickle ball courts. There is a pickle ball set provided in the front closet.

Borrego is a Dark Sky Community, which is ideal for stargazing, so make sure to take some time during your stay to step outside and unwind under the stars. Our property is only a short distance from enjoying many activities such as golfing, hiking, picnics, bird watching, 4 wheeling, and more.

Guests will have access to their two private bedrooms and private full bathroom, as well as all “common areas.” (Please note that this rental is for an entire home. There is a 3rd bedroom and garage area that guests DO NOT have access to.)

Guests can access the 2 car garage and there is a pool house with multiple olympic size pools and jacuzzis. There are 2 security gates keeping you safe, once you’re in you have access to Rams Hill country Club which is really nice. Great food!

Please understand Borrego is a dark skies community so exterior lights are supposed to be off at 10pm so everyone can view the bright stars. Interior lights are fine

The space
We hope that this home ensures a fun and relaxing trip to Anza Borrego desert. Please read these extra details about our home so you know what to expect!

General Items - SpaceX Starlink Internet! You wont find a faster or more reliable internet connection in Borrego Springs! Central A/C & heating with smart controls. The main entrance has a wifi enabled smart lock for ease of access for our guests.

Kitchen - Fully equipped, cooking basics, dishware, pool cups, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee, tea, knife set, cooking bowls, colander, measuring cups, basic spices, oil, trash bags, paper towels.

Living Room - 66" Roku TV with Apple Airplay. We have a large full sized framed map of Anza Borrego State Park in the entryway to help plan your trips.

Pool - Our pool is 3.5ft deep which is perfect for wading, floating, or just for quickly cooling off. Unfortunately, we cannot heat our pool but the temperature generally stays above 80F May through September. We have a weekly pool service, but dirt and leaves can enter the pool especially if windy. We have a pool net available for guests to scoop out any unwanted debris.

Hot Tub - Our newly added hot tub really makes for an amazing stargazing experience in the desert. We keep it heated year around for your enjoyment.

** At this time we do NOT have a safety gate around the pool, it is the guests responsibility to ensure that children are monitored at all times in the pool area. **

Backyard - We have a small wood burning chiminea, palo verde tree for morning shade, multiple native desert plants, and a decorative wall that allows for full privacy from neighbors when enjoying the pool area.

Parking - The driveway holds up to 6 vehicles and we have RV/Trailer parking on the street.

Extra Mattress - There is an extra full size trifold mattress stored in the bedroom closet, this may be used for 2 guests but you are responsible for bringing your own bedding for this mattress.

Guest access
Guess will have full access to the main house, breezeway area, backyard and front yard. The garage is closed off to guests.
