Returning through an unsecured gate into the backyard, I managed to enter the unit, which lacked an interior deadbolt—only a keyless exterior entry utilizing a code. The room did not appear to meet commercial building standards expected in a hotel or boutique-style hotel. Safety concerns included an electric/gas meter installed only inches above an electric panel (where code requires an 18-inch separation), and a hot water heater concealed behind a curtain in a closet near the kitchenette. Additional issues included an unlevel toilet and peeling paint in the bathroom and a smell of mildew/mold. I did not feel safe and checked out within 12 hours. However, the property refused to refund any portion of my prepaid six-day stay. As a solo traveler, I found the conditions uncomfortable and insecure. My deposit was not refunded upon checkout, despite previous assurances via text that it would be returned once I left the premises. A business with a rigid no-cancellation, no-refund policy often fails to deliver on its advertised experience, and unfortunately, that was the case here. "

The space

As you enter the front doors, you will be invited by soaring 17 foot ceilings. You enter the living room area with a sectional couch, ottoman and two sitting chairs along with a 55-inch TV that can be viewed while in the kitchen. The kitchen offers high end appliances including a built-in refrigerator and a built-in microwave. It will be a joy to cook!! The kitchen table divides the kitchen and living room. There are three barn doors in the main living area. The middle one opens to a thirteen foot ceiling bathroom that includes a deep soaking tub and rain shower. And did I tell you the bathroom has a wall mounted 24-inch TV. The other two barn doors open to the two bdrms. Each bedroom has a queen bed with storage drawers that hold extra bedding and pillows and a 49-inch TV. The bedroom off the kitchen has a 5 foot by 12 foot walk-in closet. The iron and ironing board will be in the closet.

The spiral staircase leads to the loft. The loft has a large walk-in closet, a 55-inch TV and two couch/day beds. Bedding and pillows will be in the closet.

Just outside the rear door, you will find your own BBQ.

Guests have total access to the entire house. The front door is at the front of the building. A key will be left in a coded lock box for access. An alarm code will be provided prior to check-in. All codes are changed after checkout. If you would like, you can provide your own four digit code for key access and alarm.

Beyond the beauty of this newly built designer home, you have the safety of an alarm system, exterior security cameras, exterior lighting and impact windows and doors. All TV's are professionally wall mounted and have Dish TV with all channels including the premium channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime etc) minus pay per view and pay movies- a nice unwind after your day at the beach. A Wi-Fi code will be provided. The kitchen has: Pots & Pans, Cooking Utensils, A large sized Bullet Blender, Toaster, Brew Coffee maker, Keurig Coffee machine with K-Pods A, a full set of cooking knives and a Tea water heater. Pier Walk was built in 1970 and is a complex of 20 boutique furnished apartments with 26 parking spaces on Deerfield Island: 12 studios, 7-one bedrooms, and one two-bedroom. It has 22 listings that can host anywhere from 1 guest up to 16 guests at a time for larger groups and families. It has a courtyard swimming pool, is one block from the beach and walking distance to the main shopping and entertainment strip. We're family-owned and managed with several hundred happy, returning guests. After booking, guests receive our detailed online local guidebook and property house manual as well as a video tour link of the entire space to properly plan your stay.

Our 4-apartment listing with 8 parking spaces sleeps 16 guests combines the largest apartments at Pier Walk and can be reserved online in one booking. Or, for 12-16 guests and 10 parking spots, we can custom-combine 6 apartments with 6 bathrooms overlooking the pool deck that are all adjacent and facing each other on the first floor providing easy, secure access to the shared laundry room, pool bathroom and pool shower 24 hours a day.

This spacious, minimalist designed two-bedroom is Pier Walk's largest apartment, with 3 parkng spots and is located on the second floor, overlooking the center of the courtyard swimming pool with LED's that light up at night after you watch the sunset, to serve as an evening backdrop from the west-facing windows. It can sleep up to 6 guests and comes with two or three driveway parking spots (unassigned). It is the only Pier Walk apartment with its own private washer and dryer included for personal use.

As you enter your apartment you'll find a picture frame on the left-hand wall, where you can use your mobile phone to scan QR codes right away for the Pier Walk WiFi and password as well as the URL to our PIer Walk online guidebook. Framed along the walls and the hallway thru out the apartment are original, vintage postcards from South Florida and beyond, dating from 1930s to the 1970s, sharing a little history from visitors and the experiences they share with friends and families over nearly 100 years.

Now you become a part of that history and tradition at Pier Walk.

Your primary bedroom has a queen bed that sleeps two guests, a smart TV, ample closets and a large window on the west side that overlooks the pool while the east window lets in the morning sun or you can sleep in using the white blackout blinds. The primary bedroom offers an optional office amenities package for $25, which includes a dedicated workstation with a wireless color printer and all necessary supplies for all your Work-From-Home needs.

Adjacent to the primary bedroom is the bathroom which has a double sink, and a tub and shower combination, perfect for larger groups. Beyond the bathroom is the guest bedroom which has a queen bed that sleeps two guests, a smart TV and a large closet space.

The fully stocked kitchen has been updated with white quartz countertops, white cabinets, a flat glass top oven and all stainless steel appliances, including a large fridge with an automatic ice maker, and a filtered water dispenser. Watch beautiful sunsets from the kitchen table or kitchen sink every single day. Your apartment overlooks the center of Pier Walk's courtyard swimming pool with LED's that light up at night after sunset to serve as an evening backdrop from the primary bedroom, hallway or kitchen windows.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the family living room which includes a dresser, a smart TV and a comfortable sofa that pulls out into a queen bed with a mattress topper for additional comfort and sleeps two guests. The black-out curtains leading to the kitchen entry can be left open for family or group use, or they can be closed off for privacy and partial sound privacy.

Your second-floor apartment comes with high-speed fiber WiFi and a Roku TV in each of the bedrooms that includes a free Roku channel with over 1,200 free movies, shows, music and live TV AND a free streaming service with an additional 1,115 channels. So there's ALWAYS something entertaining to watch for the whole family whether it's crime, drama, documentaries, cartoons, sports, thrillers or music on Pandora!

Guest access
The bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and common areas as well as whole outdoor & pool area. 10pm is quiet time in common areas and pool area. Guests must go to bedroom at 11pm. No couch sleeping. No cooking before 9am-after 9pm

During your stay
I am a chef/sommelier and happy to interact and be your guide in Deerfield Beach. Private master bedroom with lots of privacy and room. I am happy to hang out or give guests their space.

Other things to note
Everything is cleaned and sanitized to Covid requirements. While the beach is walkable it is 1.2 miles -from beach - no early check ins without notice & verification with owner. Please do not just show up.

In five minutes from the beach it has parking hours to sleep 10 at night!
