Located in the Heart of Hillsdale, set in a Pre Civil War building, nearly 200 years old, this apartment is a fusion of old and new influences. Furnished with antique, vintage and modern items, with the North light streaming through 7 foot Original windows, the feeling is fresh and cheery.

We are across from city hall, 1/2 a block from the shops, eateries, downtown, and the the bike path, and beautiful Stocks Park, and only 5 blocks from the College.

The most outstanding feature of the apartment is the tall ceilings and 7 foot windows. From this second floor apartment, you get a great birds-eye view of the scene on the street.

It is a self check in, keyless entry (room code is sent the night before check in). Check in is typically anytime after 4pm, and check out is by 11am. Owner Nancy and her assistant Rebekah both live nearby and can be reached via phone call or text if you need anything. You will find each of our team members (housekeeping included), whether it be in person or via phone, to be friendly and caring.

Formerly the home of Merton Fitzpatrick, one of the founders of the original Republican Party, the house has seen many generations of occupants and is being restored while still operating today. What once was a mansion, is now comprised of 8 full apartments, 6 of the 8 apartment units are reserved for guests. The other two house long time tenants who love and understand Old Houses.
We enjoy the eclectic decor (Which Nancy has collected when she goes antiquing) , and cozy "home away from home" feel this old house has. We hope that you will too!

Enjoy the beautiful bay windows at The Hutch. Inside the apartment, two big bay windows give lovely views overlooking the woods and gardens. Outside, there's a large lawn with a fire ring and firewood in the woods. We happily prepare campfires or the sauna for all guests.

Peace, quiet, and lots of wildlife!

On the main floor there is a queen bed and dining area with kitchenette. WIFI, Smart TV, Netflix, Hulu, & Disney +. Super Nintendo with games. The loft area has two twin floor beds. Sheets comforters blankets and pillows are provided. Please note if you plan on using the beds in the loft, the beds will not be made! Feel free to arrange the sleeping area to your liking!
All beds have heated mattress pads, sheets, pillows, and comforters. Extra blankets are provided.

The driveway is gravel and has a steep incline.

Bathroom situation:
For convenience, there is porta potty close by. It is pumped weekly by the company and always cleaned & sanitized between guests. Shower/bathing: My home is on the property, and if requested, you can access a full bathroom that will be dedicated to you during your stay. Shower and bath, with all the essentials located on the upstairs floor. Please send me a message with a heads up if you plan on using, so I can make sure it is accessible anytime during your stay.

There is limited solar power to recharge your phone and provide lighting and a fan. You can enjoy the several hiking trails and a peaceful campfire. Welcome to our lake house- the perfect retreat for couples, friends, or families who want to stay in a small town, lake community in a country setting. Our house is across the street from Wamplers Lake with shared, private lake access for launching kayaks (2 available in summer) and great for ice fishing in the winter. Jerry's pub is down the street for lake side food, drinks, & live music year round. The house is minutes away from Hayes State Park beach and boat launch, downtown Brooklyn, Michigan International Speedway, & Hidden Lake Gardens with its canopy skywalk.

Enjoy the entire place to yourself. The lake house is one floor- two bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, and a full kitchen. One bedroom has a queen size bed. The other bedroom has a queen size bed with a twin size loft. Available in each bedroom is a desk for a remote workspace. The bathroom has a shower (no bathtub). There is a smart TV (no cable, but you can use your own login for various apps like Netflix), dvd player, and wifi. The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee maker, toaster, microwave, stove, oven, dishware, utensils, and pans. Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels.

There is a patio in the front with seating and a pergola for shading. The backyard has a gas grill, picnic table, fire pit (wood not provided) and a fenced in yard for pets (fence 2.5' high). We are pet friendly for well behaved pets (pet fee required)

Bring your own boat to launch at nearby Hayes State Park. There is no overnight docking at the property, but the driveway is rather long if you plan to bring your own boat on a trailer. There are many lakes nearby, which are great for fishing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter.

▶This house is privately owned and does not include maid service or daily cleanings. The cleaning fee covers a final cleaning (after your checkout).

▶ Unregistered guests are not permitted.

▶ Pets are not allowed.

▶ No parties. Significant noise or playing loud music after 9:00 pm will result in you being asked to leave without a refund for the remaining time of your reservation.

▶ Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property — this includes the interior of the home, as well as all outdoor areas such as the deck, porch, yard, driveway, and any territory associated with the property.
If there is any evidence of smoking, a $250 penalty will apply, and your reservation will be terminated immediately without a refund for any unused nights.

▶ Check-in is at/after 4 pm and check-out time is no later than 11 am. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability. Late check-out without prior approval will result in a fee of $100 per hour for each hour after 11 am.

The space
We have a large historic home in a lovely small town that we'd love to share with you. Our home was built in 1855 and sits up on a hill surrounded by mature shade trees and gardens. Private upstairs room with a double bed and private bath. Wonderful restaurants, museums, micro brew and shopping in our vibrant downtown that's only a 5 minute walk away. We have ample parking, wireless internet and laundry. The bedroom decor is cottage, lots of blue and white. Recently updated decor. New rug, bedding and comfy chair. The room and bath are at the back wing of our home so are very quiet and private. The bathroom is private with shower and laundry facilities in the room. We have been hosting for 6 years now and are having a great time. Our home is unique because as it is over 160 years old is is comfortable, homey and warm. We are LGBT friendly. ALL are welcome.

The space
Our historic home is in the largest historic residential district in the US. We are 3 blocks from a wonderful main street with great shopping. Our town has many museums, parks and restaurants. This room has a queen bed and private bath. The bathroom has original turn of the century fixtures and is very quaint. Bedrooms are located upstairs in the back wing of the house and are very private and quiet. The kitchen is very large (15 x 30) but cozy and is available for your use. We do have cats on site that have no access to guest rooms and are a nonsmoking household. Quiet walkable neighborhood. An amazing architecture walk with map guided tour. The Dark Horse brewery is a quick walk away as is Schulers 100 yr old restaurant. Ample parking. Bicycles available. We can't wait to share our home with you so expect a tour! We are LGBT friendly. Welcome to our downtown apartment! We're excited to host our recently renovated place with you for your time in Jackson. This comfortable 1 bed/ 1 bath apartment is located on the main level of a small apartment building that is ideally located near pretty much everything.

The kitchen is well stocked with a stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, and gas oven/range. Other essentials like a blender, kettle, coffee maker, etc are also provided.

The living room has a large, comfortable couch with chaise lounge, along with a 55" Roku tv. Wifi is fast and reliable.

The bedroom is well equipped with two large closets, a dresser, and a comfortable memory foam mattress (we have the same one in our other units and get tons of compliments!).

If you like peace and quiet and need a place to rest your head after working all day, this apartment is for you. Located in the back of the building, The Quietest Side, this apartment has a full bed in a cozy bedroom, a compact but adequate bathroom with shower, and a roomy kitchen.

Built before the Civil war, this apartment house is almost 200 years old. Formerly the home of Merton Fitzpatrick, one of the founders of the original Republican Party, the house has seen many generations of occupants and is being restored while still operating today. While the building is located in the very Heart of Hillsdale, for the most part the building and surroundings are quiet, except occasionally during early morning hours when the post office trucks are being loaded . Only a block away is beautiful Stocks Park. Half a block away are most of Hillsdale's Shops and Restaurants. Five blocks in the other direction, is the Hillsdale College Campus.

Circa 1850, 76 North was built as the home and office of a prominent Hillsdale lawyer and judge. The Great Depression found 76 North in a state of disrepair. Bought by a developer in the late 30's, it was made into apartments and sold a few times afterwards, but never
recovered its original glory.
The new owners have been at work since 2006 to restore and preserve this Historic American Relic. Comfortable apartments now, most rental income goes toward
repairs, preservation and improvement

The space
Apartment 1 consists of 2 larger rooms, 1) a dining and kitchen area of 13x11 (approx) and 2) a Bedroom with Queen Bed, a sleeping alcove approx 5x8 with a twin bed and a seating area and a desk/ work area of 11x11, in addition, The bathroom with shower is off of the Dining-Kitchen area. Floors are antique hardwood and furnishings are generally vintage or antique. There is a 32" smart tv which can be used with your laptop for movies, etc. Wifi always.The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and cookware, as well as dishes and silverware. Keurig coffee as well as tea and snacks are complementary.

A beautiful park at the corner of Ferris and Bacon, Stocks Park, is nearby. We are in the Heart of Hillsdale,only half a block from the main street and stores, across the street from the post office, police and fire, city hall, a great location for walking around town. We are 4 blocks from the Hillsdale College campus. There are a number of restaurants within 2 blocks, but you if wish, you can cook for yourself in your fully equipped kitchen.
The apartment has continuous Wifi, internet, and a flat screen tv which can be used for movies (your subscriptions) news weather as well as some free features and as a computer monitor.
Occasionally during heavy rainfall, sand and water can be tracked in on your shoes from the parking lot. We always clean and mop floors before a new guest checks in, and try to stay out of the way after checkin, but if you are staying a few days or a week or more and wish additional cleaning, it can be arranged. There are also cleaning supplies in the apartment.

The space
Apartment 21 is at the top of the stairs of a Historic Victorian Building Built Circa 1854. Bought in 2006 by new owners, the building is constantly being repaired but with the goal of preserving its Historic character. Every effort is being made to save, and in some cases recreate or restore, its unique features such as antique hardwood floors, original woodwork and moldings.
Apartment 21 has a kitchen which includes range, refrigerator, microwave and Keurig coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, just like home! If you don't feel like going out to eat, you don't have to!
The bedroom is cozy, perfect for two, with a 1920's metal bed.
The bathroom is finished and complete with shower, sink, toilet and tile floor.
The living room of the apartmentis a great place to relax. It boasts an oversized daybed, loaded with pillows, very comfortable and a 43" TV with Roku. In one corner a desk and comfortable chair are perfect for catching up on office tasks or homework. Across the room, sits an old gliding rocker, also very comfortable. A bay window looks down on the street and nearby buildings and lets in the sunlight during the day. At bedtime, pillows are removed from the daybed and it becomes an extra bed for a third person, adult or child.

The community laundry room is on the second floor. Laundry hours are 7:30am to 10 pm.

A 4 yard trash receptacle is provided in parking lot for your convenience.
The 16 step stairway in the center of the building may be an issue for some adults and young children who should always be supervised on the stairs.

The Willow Leaf is a pleasant upstairs apartment, with all of the amenities of home. The apartment is accessed by exterior stairs on the back of the home, which opens up into a spacious, grassy lot. A small deck/patio is at the top of the stairs, adjacent to the mudroom for the apartment.

Inside, we have a very functional kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, crock pot, and Keurig coffee maker. Basic kitchen tools are provided (let us know if you are needing something specific! We love to cook :) )

The Willow Leaf sleeps 4 adults, though we'd be happy to host more if at least two are children. There is a comfortable 12" memory foam mattress in the bedroom, as well as a spacious pull out couch with a memory foam topper. There is also sound/white noise machine for anyone who needs it!

The living room is spacious and comfortable, with a smart TV and wifi available. And feel free to use the bluetooth speaker :) Window air conditioning units are provided.

The house is almost 200 years old. It was last purchased by the current owners in 2006, who have been repairing and restoring and upgrading and preserving the building since it was purchased. There is always a project in the works. Actually, the whole building is a work in progress. Since there was so much work needed, the apartments were rehabilitated one at a time, then rented to generate more income to rehab or repair the next item on the list. Most of the tenants and guests love old buildings and history.
What started out as a business investment has now become a labor of love with most rental income being used to repair and preserve the building.
Locationwise, the building is centrally located 1/2 a block from Hillsdale shops and eateries, 1/2 a block from Stocks Park and the bike path(free bike rental for each apartment if requested) about 4 blocks from the fair grounds, and across the street from police and fire depts, post office and city hall.

Please note: This house was built in 1860! The stairs to the upstair bedroom are steep - that's how they did things back then! Guests who could not easily or safely traverse a spiral staircase could have trouble accessing the bedroom in our apartment.

In a pinch, an air mattress could be set up in the living room, but this would not be ideal for anyone.

We would love to have you stay with us, but please be aware that you will need to walk up and down a steep set of stairs that have a sharp turn at the bottom.

Close to Downtown Hillsdale, Our Cozy Cottage Duplex features 2 bedrooms (one with a Full Size Bed and one with a Twin), plus a twin sized Daybed in the living room where the tv is, for a total of 3 beds.
You will get this half of the house (the whole upstairs apartment with a private entrance) to yourself. You will access the apartment via an outside flight of stairs.
You can also rent the lower level of the duplex and have the entire house to yourself! -Perfect for families etc.

This little Old Hillsdale Cottage was built in the 1850's, rehabbed in 2017 retaining as many original features as possible, antique wood floors, woodwork, cedar siding, stone foundation.
At the same time, it was upgraded to include more modern features for comfort.

The space
You will have the entire first floor duplex consisting of :
2 Cozy bedrooms, a compact bathroom with shower, a just big enough living room, nice size kitchen and a shared sunporch. Your complete kitchen includes refrig, stove, Keurig and Microwave. Also Included 43" Smart TV , and WiFi.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire lower floor of the cottage, also sunporch and yard.

Other things to note
Taller people ( over 6 feet) may find the beds too short, or not enough legroom in bathroom. This tiny house was built in an age when people were smaller (1800's)

The space
Wood trim and hardwood floors adorn this charming early 20th Century home situated on a quiet street. Take your coffee to the front porch and wave to passersby, or retreat to the back patio and enjoy the activity at the bird feeder.

Guest access
The bedroom (upstairs) includes a comfortable double bed, a walk-in closet and a large dresser. There is plenty of room for your stuff. Take advantage of the upstairs office if you need to spread out. The full bath (shared) includes a shower and a claw-tub. You are welcome to hang out in the dining or living rooms. Please utilize the refrigerator and the microwave. There is a washer/dryer in the basement, or you can hang your clothes out on the line.

During your stay
Please understand that this is not a vacant house rental; you'll be staying with Robert. All bedrooms are on the second floor; and we do share the upstairs Full-Bath as it contains the only shower. You will be the only guest(s) at the residence.

Other things to note
A parking permit is required to park in the street (I’ll take care of that for you). You will be receiving a one-page wash to follow Guide after booking.
