Comfortable 2 bedroom flat located in the heart of Stornoway close to Castle Grounds entrance and only 5 minutes walk to the town centre. Recently refurbished and modernised with smart TV, wireless internet, washing machine, tumble drier, fridge and separate freezer. New high comfort mattresses and blackout blinds along with an updated shower room. Ideal base to explore the island with plenty of private parking outside flat.
Our flat offers guests a convenient base to explore the island but yet a central location to enjoy modern amenities. Just 5 minutes walk to the town centre with all its cafe's, bars and shops; 1 minutes walk to the Castle Ground entrance; 10 minutes walk to the museum at the Lews Castle; 3 minutes walk to the Bayhead swing and skate park; 10 minutes walk to the supermarket; and only 3 minutes walk to the harbour. There is plenty private parking at the flat for up to 3 cars but if you have travelled by foot then the ferry terminal is around about 10 minutes walk from the flat.
The kitchen is well equipted with a double electric oven, grill and hob. A modern microwave, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, and sink with draining board. Full set of cuttlery, sharp knives, pans, oven proof dishes, cooking spoons, ladle, fish slice etc.
A dining table and 4 chairs are included in the flat. A baby/child seat is also available with tray for younger guests.
The flat has 2 bedrooms with the larger equipped with a double bed, dressing table and blackout blinds. The other bedroom comes with bunk beds that are suitable for adults as well as children. All the mattresses have been upgraded to superior comfort models. An additional pull out bed is located underneath the bunks and can be used to accommodate a further guest. We can supply a cot free of charge upon request. Bedding is supplied for all beds but not for the cot so please bring your own baby bedding.
The living area has 2 comfortable leather sofas on either side of the fireplace. A large 42" smart TV with paid Netflix account so hopefully you'll be spoilt for choice on what to watch.
The flat has its own front door and you have full access. Guests can access the property using the security box at the apartment front door which holds the main door key - the code is provided via email prior to your stay.
I am contactable at any time by phone or email and will only attend the property during your stay if requested to do so. Other than that you will have full privacy for your stay. There is no meet and greet at the property as we allow the flexibility to check in any time after 3pm.

In the heart of Stornoway, Canisp is a gem of flat with the 2 floors linked via a gorgeous feature staircase. Canisp is light, airy and peaceful and has been recently decorated to a high standard to provide perfect, spacious accommodation for 7 (plus cot) boasting, King, Double, Twin and Single bedrooms. Every comfort has been thought of in the inviting & cosy living room with lovely dining recess. The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard with new oven, and hob and all the utensils you'd expect. Deceptively bright and spacious, the flat has lots of room and is the perfect place to retreat to after a day's adventures exploring the island's beaches and landmarks.

Recently renovated to a high standard, this tastefully decorated holiday accommodation promises a delightful retreat for up to 4 guests. ‘Mo Eilean’ is a beautifully restored traditional Victorian stone house that provides our guests with a home away from home and an ideal base for exploring the island. It is set in a quiet, yet central street of Stornoway, the main town of the Western Isles. With only a 5 minute walk into the center of Stornoway, our tranquil harbor, Lews Castle, shops, restaurants, cinema, and sports center are on your doorstep. Arrival points of ferry port and airport are also only 5-10 minutes from our house.
The space
Everything in this house has been lovingly chosen to create a space which offers a charming marriage of old and new, traditional and modern. Where possible, we preserved and exposed special features like the original stone wall in the loft living room, the old wooden flooring, and formerly hidden fireplaces. Two modern wood burners add to the cosines of the living and dining spaces, while the spacious bathroom invites you to relax in a luxurious spa bath.
If you are not out exploring our unique island landscape with its breathtaking beaches, lochs, and coastline, your holiday home is furnished with ample home entertainment such as Amazon & Netflix TV, a Blu-Ray player with a wide selection of DVDs, high-quality Naim & Cambridge HiFi sound systems, PS4, free fibre broadband, a great selection of books, games, jigsaws as well as a laptop docking station, monitor, and printer for any work requirements.
For families with young children, we provide a cot, high-chair, car seat, and booster seat, pram, as well as a safety gate for our stairs.
On a sunny day, you can enjoy your own private patio garden equipped with a table, seating and a Weber barbecue. This space is also ideal to hang and store any leisure/sports equipment for surfing, biking or other water sport activities.

Please note that in our island community the Lord's day is observed on a Sunday. This means that the majority of public amenities will be closed. We have prepared more detailed information on which amenities will be open for your convenience on Sundays in our 'Welcome' folder available to you on arrival.

My place is modern, comfortable and laid back. It is located in Stornoway, a 10 minute walk to the Town Centre and a few minutes walk from the Macaulay Road bus stop, should you be looking to explore our wonderful Island.
Local amenities are within walking distance, including the Co-op, which is just around the corner, as is Macleod and Macleod Butchers, should you want to buy yourself the famous Stornoway Black Pudding. There are also nearby coffee shops and restaurants.
The space
The property is well equipped with everything you need for your stay. If you plan on spending part of your time working, the large desk in the bedroom makes doing so a very comfortable experience.
The single bedroom is spacious and cosy, with a Smart TV.

Welcome to fisherman's cottage: a calm space great for families or couples. A former cow byre built in 1850, the cottage is tucked down a lane out of the worst of the winter storms. So whilst the cottage doesn’t have sea views, it overlooks our little woodland nature garden.
Just five minutes from Stornaway ferry terminal and bus station, and under ten minutes by car from the airport, this cosy cottage is a great base from which to explore the Isles of Lewis and Harris.

We are close to public transport, the airport, the town centre, parks, and the local art and culture centre (An Lanntair). Lews Castle and the golf course are within walking distance of the property.

The accommodation on offer is a self catering first-floor flat located on the outskirts of Stornoway (a brisk 7 minutes walk from the town centre, alternatively there is a bus stop close by).
The flat comprises of a living / dining room, two bedrooms, shower room and kitchen. It can sleep up to a maximum of five people.
The south-facing livingroom is light and airy with a dining table which seats six people. There is a 42″ colour TV with freeview channels, a DVD player, a stereo and a wide selection of CDs and DVDs suitable for all ages.
The main bedroom has both a double and a single bed while the second bedroom has one double bed. The bedrooms also have TVs with DVD players.

Custom built camper van, perfect for exploring the hidden delights of the Hebrides. Camp on the edge of some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Our van is a converted minibus semi high roof, suitable for 2 adults and a child. Dogs welcome.

The space
We do have to take a £150 deposit on a payment card that will be returned when the van is returned with a full tank of fuel and no damage. The driver requires to be over 21 with two years with a full license. Unfortunately we can’t accept USA Canada or SA licenses. Two proof of address are required ie utility bills no more than 3 months old, council tax bill, bank statement etc. No more than 2x3 points on your license. A check license code must be generated no more than three weeks before hire.
The BBC used the van in 2024 and can be seen on iPlayer BBC Scotland Jules and Greg’s wild swim, series 2 Episode 3 along with stunning footage of Lewis and Harris.

There is plenty private parking at the flat for up to 3 cars but if you have travelled by foot then the ferry terminal is around about 10 minutes walk from the flat.

The kitchen boasts a deluxe Elfin kitchen unit that is well equipped with a fridge, microwave, sink unit, electric hob, kettle and toaster.

Two bar stools and table as well as a coffee table are included in the flat. A baby/child seat is also available with tray for younger guests on request.
