Quiet single room in a luxury 2 bed flat, sharing with a young couple with allocated car park. Shops across the road. Suitable for a professional and polite person for a short/long stay.

Ideal for those visiting Bedford for work (but not suitable for guests intending to be at home during the day). Guest room has twin single beds, a table, stool and a clothes rack. There is a shared bathroom and the kitchen is available for making light snacks with free tea/coffee and a microwave. Private parking on the driveway at the front. Quick access to the A421 and A6, and only approx 15 mins from A1 and M1. Only 10 mins from Bedford town centre. All extremely clean and comfortable.

The space
My home is a small, but bright and clean, two-bedroom terraced house. The guestroom is upstairs at the back, looking out onto the garden. One bed will be made up for you to sleep in (white cotton bed linen, 10 tog duvet and extra blankets if you need them) with a bedside cabinet and lamp. The mattress is high quality and there are black-out curtains to aid your sleep. The other bed provides space for your bags etc. There's a rail to hang your clothes, a long mirror on the back of the door, and a table and stool in case you need a quiet space to work. The neighbours are a quiet bunch but there is some background sound of traffic on the A421.

Guests have access to their bedroom, and to the shared bathroom, kitchen and living room.

During your stay
If you need something - ask. I won't intrude on your time but I'm around if you need anything. I’m often parked on the sofa in front of the TV with my Jackapoo, Raisin, curled on my lap in the evenings. You can either relax in your room or come and join us. All are welcome - my home is open to all humans who are happy to show mutual respect! Raisin, by the way, is a small, clean dog but she isn’t allowed in the guest room whether it’s occupied or not – I understand not everyone likes sharing their bedroom with a dog, no matter how cute!

Other things to note
My home is not suitable for guests looking for somewhere to rest or sleep during the day. It is ideally suited to guests who plan to leave the house early in the morning and remain out until the evening. Although it is great to have guests around in the evenings, I need to have the house to myself during working hours.

One of three Dovecote Self-Catering cottages situated around a shared courtyard. Located on an arable farm on the edge of Harrold, a pretty North Bedfordshire village.

The most romantic of our cottages, it was converted from an old dovecote. On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with a glass door out onto a paddock. Upstairs is an ensuite master bedroom featuring a dramatic high ceiling with exposed beams.
