Recently refurbished for October 2023, the charming and characterful cottages are situated in the traditional village of Roxton, with easy access to Milton Keynes. Guests have access to both cottages, each with a cosy living room, showcasing traditional exposed beams, with Smart TV & Wi-Fi ideal for family nights in together. Each cottage has a fully fitted kitchen where you can prepare delicious meals.

The larger cottage has three spacious bedrooms, you'll find the first bedroom on the ground floor, a delightful king-size room. Head up the original cottage stairs to bedroom two, a double room with quirky hatch access to the third bedroom with two single beds. Please note this room is ideal for children and can only be accessed via the hatch in bedroom two, which may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility or taller guests. The property has one modern ground floor family bathroom with a large, luxurious shower, basin, and WC.

The smaller cottage with one king size bedroom, a haven of tranquillity for two! Plus a ground floor modern bathroom just off the kitchen, with a large, luxurious shower, basin, and WC. Outside, the large patio and lawned wrap around garden provide a picturesque setting to start your day with a morning cup of coffee or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine.

The lovely town of St Neots is just 15 minutes’ drive away with local amenities and the river running through so a lovely spot to watch the boats. Other local and larger towns include Bedford, Huntingdon, Rushden and Kettering, all within half an hour’s drive. Just over 8 miles is Grafham Water with a range of activities including watersports, fishing, cycle hire or simply relaxing and watching the wildlife. Other nearby attractions within 40 minutes’ drive include Hamerton Zoo Park, Wicksteed Park and a spa and golf resort at Wyboston Lakes. For shopping enthusiasts, a trip to Rushden Lakes is a must with a wide selection of high street names as well as a huge choice of eateries and leisure activities. This incredible detached 16th century cottage and accompanying Water Tower rest in Melchbourne, Bedfordshire and can sleep twelve people in six bedrooms.

Church Cottage is a detached cottage originally built in 1588 with an accompanying Water Tower, resting in the village of Melchbourne, Bedfordshire. The main property hosts five bedrooms including a ground-floor king-size and en-suite bathroom, a ground-floor king-size with en-suite shower room, a super-king-size, a double with en-suite shower room and a final double, sleeping a total of ten guests, while the Water Tower resting over the first and second floor sleeps two people in a second-floor king-size bedroom, altogether sleeping 10. One of three Dovecote Self-Catering cottages situated around a shared courtyard. Located on an arable farm on the edge of Harrold, a pretty North Bedfordshire village.

The most romantic of our cottages, it was converted from an old dovecote. On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with a glass door out onto a paddock. Upstairs is an ensuite master bedroom featuring a dramatic high ceiling with exposed beams.

However, it is likely you will meet Cleo (black Oriental) she is friendly and rather bold - and doesn’t have a tail due to an accident. Our tabby Shyla (is aptly named, she is rather shy ) although, as she used to live in the cottage, you may just discover her sitting on your window sill. If you leave the door open for. Too long you just might have company! Due to our cats we are unable to welcome any pets, sorry.

If you are a smoker - please smoke in the courtyard - do not smoke in the cottage - we politely ask that you do not smoke at the front door. (Ashtrays available on request)

We are happy for you to use our side garden and have placed a bistro table and chairs (included in photo) so you can dine alfresco if you like. It’s a really protected spot to catch the sunshine. This garden is fenced off from our main garden but please feel free to wander. There’s fresh herbs growing and an amazing BBQ if you’d like to use it.
Please be aware of our free ranging ducks, chickens and bees and ask us if you’d like to feed them (we have special food!).

Heading upstairs you will find two beautiful double bedrooms. Each room features natural wood tones, cozy textiles and crisp fresh bedding. The colour palettes in both bedrooms incorporate pastels and bright colours and have been put together to create calm and serene spaces, as isnt this what we want this when we escape to the country.

Honeypot Cottage is over 150 years old and it’s quirky, a bit wonky and some low ceilings in places - but this all adds to its charm and beauty.

Step outside into the courtyard where you can hang your wellies after a local countryside walk, wash your dog’s mucky paws or enjoy a cuppa or glass of wine.

The great sized private rear garden for your own private use houses a decked area, seating and is suitable for children and dogs - please pick up after your dog and dispose of in the black wheelie bin - thank you

Other things to note
Old House is a listed building several hundred years old, its quirky with some very low ceilings and very little wooden stairs and as such may not be suitable for everyone.

Although we would love to engage with all potential visitors and would not willingly exclude anyone from booking what ever their abilities but this house and its heritage will not change for us.

We would ask that you consider whether this property is right for you if you have any mobility issues or are like my family 6'2" tall. If you are very tall then you might want to call shotgun and pick "Jonnys Room" as the ceiling height and the size of the bathroom in there will be better for you.

If you were bringing small children we would recommend bringing stair gates to ensure little ones are not at risk of tackling the stairs on their own

Welcome to our little cottage, located in the centre of the beautiful village of Turvey in the English countryside in Bedforshire. Just 40 minutes north of St Pancras, London, by train. With a wood burning stove, wifi, rain shower, Cowshed products, Nespresso, Sky TV, fully-fitted kitchen and surrounded by open fields, walks and English pubs its the perfect getaway from daily life.

The space
The cottage is finished to a high standard with a mix of mid century and modern finishings. Candles and bathroom products from Cowshed and Soho Home and Nespresso machine for all those little touches that make a stay away so special.

If there’s something missing or something special that you need just let us know. We want you stay to be as good as possible.

The cottage is a separate building called ‘Little Rickally’, sharing a driveway with the main ‘Rickally House’. You have your own access and total privacy during your stay.

The closest town of Bedford is renowned as having one of the finest riverside settings in the country while the popular tourist destinations of Oxford and Cambridge are also a must see. The city of London can be reached via a train ride or alternatively, simply sit back and relax in the immediate surroundings.

Guests arriving at this charming thatched cottage will initially enter the porch area before stepping through to the cosy lounge and immediately notice the character of the outside is reflected internally too. The stunning exposed inglenook fireplace with wood burner effect electric fire creates the perfect focal point for the room where guests can relax after a day exploring the local area on comfortable sofas, snuggle up to watch the TV/DVD or indulge in a good novel. The well-equipped kitchen/diner ensures all facilities required for holiday dining are available including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and to enjoy the resulting cuisine, a dining table. From the kitchen, the rear porch provides both access to the rear garden and a handy place for wiping down muddy paws and shoes, along with a desk for those who wish to catch up on any emails. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC. The inner hallway has stairs to the first floor, following these up guests will find a spacious bedroom with super-king-size bed with TV. The exposed beams and timbers continue through to the twin bedroom which can only be accessed through the first bedroom.

The grounds of the cottage are as equally charming as the cottage itself and those who enjoy relaxing outside will be spoilt for choice. The decking area, with garden furniture, sun loungers. Hot tub in which to soak away any stress, enjoys uninterrupted views across farmland and three acre grassed paddock which you have access to. Alternatively, the side and front gardens have been thoughtfully landscaped to provide a colourful backdrop to al fresco dining with rose arch, planted beds and fruit trees. There is off-road parking for two cars and secure bicycle storage available.
