All of this adds to its charm but would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. The cottage was located well for trips out to newmarket, Cambridge and Burty St Edmunds. Also good for local walks. The garden was beautiful and we were treated to a moorhen and her two chicks on the pond. Only negative was internet access. We had a little on the first evening and last day but nothing inbetween. Not a big issue .. good to learn to live without it."

My place is close to Newmarket races , town centre , horse racing gallops , Cambridge . My place is good for solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids). This is a great Private room with wet room , twin beds and a camp bed for a third guest . plus kitchen area with the essentials kettle , toaster , microwave , fridge , it also has a single electric hob . It is a quiet location and separate from the main house , there is a back gate entrance ,use car park in scaltback drive.

Upstairs at Number eight are three rooms and bathroom for one to five people These rooms can be booked individually by a group, or one at a time, so you may be sharing the bathroom with another guest from another room. Guests have a private entrance and pets are welcome. This humble abode is simple comfort in a lovely village a quick hop to Newmarket races. My aim is to be the affordable accomodation I always want to find on my travels. I am glad to say I have many returning guests.

The space
The room number three is the single room of the three listings and is the smallest room. Ideal for a short stay or for a younger member of a group if booking all the rooms at once. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms and there is a table and chairs outside for any smokers. I will add that I am a smoker but never smoke in the guest areas. Those who are hyper sensitive to this are advised that although no smoking is allowed in guest areas it is not an entirely smoke free house. Long life milk sachets are supplied , but if you prefer fresh milk please bring some and keep it in the fridge on the landing. I have applied a variable discount for weekly+ Bookings. During your stay
The entire upstairs is given to guests and you may meet the other guests or you may be the only guest. I am available if needed but you have a separate entrance and need not interact with me if you prefer. I will gladly do a load of washing for you. Please read all about the listing before booking.

I will do laundry for you if you ask me £5 per load. (no delicate fabrics please).
Weekly discount of 10% applies when booking this room means a weekly stay is just £195 approx (variation possible due to smart pricing)
Please note that I would not like to have third party bookings, That is when a person is booked by another person such as an employer or friend. I would like the person who booked the room to be the person who arrives. I would like the person who books to also have a profile image on their information and to resemble that image. I may be flexible on this if you contact me first. 4.7 miles to the July racecourse, or 12 minutes in a car on a clear day. Public Bus transport runs weekdays but not weekends. Please read all about the listing before booking. We are also 14 miles from Ely. Students may find it useful too have a bike to access Newmarket and the stations.

My home is situated in a quiet street not far from the high street, therefore it is close to nightlife, public transport, the city centre, and parks. You’ll love my place because of the high ceilings, the location, the people, and the ambience. My place is good for solo use, and business travellers.

During your stay
I have a busy schedule which means my guests will need to be independent. I am always on hand to provide advice for local activities etc.
